Master and Slave

[Roccano]

Satan's lip twitched downward for a second as he glanced over at Kai and then back at her.
"Hasnt done anything wrong huh, to you or to anyone else?"  

[SkieChan]

Hotaru frowned. "He hasn't done anything wrong for a demon." She clarified. "He's been cruel to some of the people around me and he's been a bit rough with me, but I thought demons were supposed to be like that. That would mean he hasn't done anything wrong."  

[Roccano]

Kai smiled at her answer, as did Satan.

"Well Kai, looks like you stay."

He pat him on the shoulder and then walked back into the portal and waved.

"Dont do any good deeds now!"

He started laughing and then the portal closed and Kai sighed as he leaned against the wall and sighed with relief.

Hotaru crossed her arms and frowned at him. "Are we finished here?" She asked him, a bit of an edge in her voice. She didn't like the idea that he had done all those things to 'work on' her rather than because he wanted to do them for her. It was a bit painful to be reminded where she really stood.  

[Roccano]

Kai shook his head.
"No, we arent, I wanted to admit something to you."
He sighed.
"Before I actually talked to you, I had been watching you for a few years, six to be exact.
This meeting only happens every six years, and during that time, I was constantly watching and protecting you.
All this stuff ive been doing wasnt out of necessity, it was because I cared about you."  

[SkieChan]

Hotaru turned away from him and headed up the stairs. "You're as good at lieing as I am." She replied over her shoulder. "Guess it comes naturally to demons." She didn't stop but kept heading up the stairs. She wanted out of this dress, she wanted her cloths, her hair, her home, and most of all her books and art. She wanted to lose herself to them as she always did when the real world hurt.  

[Roccano]

Kai frowned and then turned her around as soon as they got to the top of the stairs.

"Hotaru, im not lying, im not, I dont care if you believe me or not, but im not lying to you, I love you, and dont want to see you hurt, I wanted to improve your self esteem, I wanted to help you....."

He paused, his eyes taking on a realizing glow and then let go of her.

"But in all this time, I have been hurting you.....and not even realizing it....."

Hotaru sighed. "It's not a bad thing." She said softly as she looked at the floor. "The changes. But these kind of things, you have to want to change them." She told him as she looked up at him. "You can't just expect me to like the cloths I'm not comfortable in, or to enjoy the hair cut I didn't want." She bit her lip for a moment. "If you wanted to fix those things, you should have made me comfortable with them first. Changing how I dress or how I look isn't going to do anything for how I feel." She explained.  

[Roccano]

Kai sighed and then went to the couch and sat down.
"I.....dont know how to do all that."
He leaned forward and put his head in his hands.
"I shouldnt be here right now.....I should have gone with him.....im not any good at any of this....."  

[SkieChan]

Hotaru snorted. "You don't belong with him either." She told him. "Otherwise I would have told the whole truth." She sat next to him. "Besides, your doing fine. "I'm getting better with the whole comfort thing." She admitted. "It still takes getting used to and I'm still really uncomfortable with other people." She sighed and bumped his shoulder with hers. "But I'm comfortable with you." She told him. "And that's a start."  

[Roccano]

Kai sighed and then looked over at her.
"I hope it doesnt take too much longer, its not something thats fun to wait for.
I feel as if im hurting more then helping."  

[SkieChan]

Hotaru rolled her eyes. "You're not a patient person." She muttered. "I don't know how long till I'm comfortable with people. Can't it be enough for a while that I'm comfortable with you?" She asked him.  

[Roccano]

He sighed and then smiled at her with a nod.
"Yes, that is enough."
He then leaned over and hugged her and started laughing.
"Here I am trying to help you, and you end up helping me."  

[SkieChan]

Hotaru returned the hug and yawned. "Can I go back to sleep now?" She asked him.  

[Roccano]

Kai laughed and shook his head.
"No, you have ten minutes till school."
