The section I'm reading in the book for my class right now - Falling Into Theory: Conflicting Views on Reading Literature ~ David H. Richter - is very interesting. Richter is addressing two different writers' (whose pieces he's included in the book) different experiences with books. One grew up loving books; the other, due to the neighborhood he lived in, feared books because they were considered "sissy stuff." It also addresses certain books that stood out to them.
Very interesting to read, especially when it makes me start thinking about my own experience with books. I, thankfully, have grown up in the literature-loving environment.
