More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"He's not the way I remember? Yeah, I kind of figured that," Annie replied coldly. Pushing auburn hair behind her ear, Annie continued, "And it wasn't a question of whether it is a good idea for me to see him. The fact of the matter is I have to see him for myself. It isn't that I don't believe you: I just need to see him."

Annie took a deep breath, "I'm sorry I'm rambling, but I'm going to see him one way or another. You can't stop me from seeing him. Either I'm going to see Shane Morris with your permission, Gidget, or I'm going to find his cell on my own and visit him myself."

"Don't forget I can turn myself into liquid, that means any place that lets in air in Valhalla is accessible to me," Annie added. arms crossed, eyes blazing.

Gidget sighs and stands. She reads Annie's vitals and facial features. She isn't lying, and Gidget can't afford a chance of Shane getting out.

She slowly approaches Annie and looks her in the eyes. Her voice is stern, adult, nothing like the little girl Annie knew.

"Alright Annie, I'll take you to him. But you have to do everything I say when it comes down to his security protocols. You don't know what he's become, and what he's become is so dangerous he's in his own threat level."

She turns to Tansy, Ako, and the newcomer, "It looks like you two have a lot of catching up to do, so I'll leave you here. Feel free to explore, just don't touch any gadgets with black tape on them."

She motions for Annie to follow her, her shoulder slumped as though a heavy weight were upon them.

Annie smiled slightly at Gidget's agreement, the last thing she wanted to do was spend the afternoon breaking into a high security section of Valhalla. The fact that Gidget was lecturing her on Shane about not knowing what he had become and the fact that he "is so dangerous he's in his own threat level" made Annie's blood run cold for a minute or so. What did Shane do? It sounded almost as if he had become another Leviathan or maybe on a lighter note, a Charles Ray?

Annie quickly follows Gidget waving her goodbye to the others and said, "Sorry for leaving so suddenly, but I have business to attend to. It was nice seeing you Ako and Tansy. And lovely meeting you Theonis."

She ducked her head and just as suddenly as her sunny demeanor in her goodbye had appeared it had left as she followed Gidget, quietly she said, "Thank-you, Gidget. This means a lot to me."

Gidget gives a weak smile to Annie's appreciation. It may mean a lot to Annie, but to Gidget it was going to be a real trial. No doubt Shane is going to mention her condition to Annie. How she is going to react worries Gidget.

A moment later they arrive at the series of security doors that secure Shane's wing of Valhalla. Gidget stops in front of them and looks to Annie.

"Annie...he's most likely going to say some things that are going to seem incredible or outright unbelievable. Some of it is true, some of it isn't. Whatever questions you have I will answer for you."

"You'll have to talk to him from behind reinforced glass. It's for your own safety. I'm going to remain here. I've given you permissions to deactivate his pacification measures, just place your right hand on the panel next to window. When you're done, just place your hand on it again to reactivate it."

She places her hand on a panel by the door. It slides open, followed by six others behind it. The long hallway leads to a room with a chair placed in front of a window looking into a darkened room.

Gidget glances down the hallway then back to Annie. "I'm sorry it has to be like this. I'll explain everything when you are through."

That was what Kerana needed to hear, her ears twitched and she smiled. "Then I'm in but if anyone asks it was my idea. If they find out what we are up to say the whole thing was my idea. They may go more easy on me...and not one who doesn't get out much."

The creature smiles and looks back at the sisters. "Alright, we can go when you guys are ready."

Annie nodded at what Gidget said and smiled saying confidently, "You forget I can sense auras. If Shane is really as bad as you say he is: I'll know. And, bad people you can't trust everything they say. Hell, you can't trust everything that good people say, either for that matter. Don't worry about me. And, I look forward to your explanation of things. Well, I'll be off then."

Then, taking a deep breath, Annie brushed her auburn hair behind her shoulders and walked forward. Around her the air seemed to grow heavy as if a dark aura lingered in the corridor, but Annie ignored it as she made her way through the corridor and to the window.

Taking another deep breath, Annie placed her hand on the panel next to the window before sitting down. "Shane... Shane Morris, It's me Annabella Soulsmith."

The security doors close one by one as Annie passes by them. The last one closes with a series of clicks following behind it, locking into place.

The florescent lights flicker on to reveal a sterile white room with wisps of a multicolored vapor floating about. When Annie places her hand on the panel, the rooms ventilation system halts the production of the gas and sucks it out.

A pile of blankets on a bed shift and move. Shane Morris slowly folds the blankets off of himself and sits up. His appearance is haggard. His eyes and the corners of his mouth show his age. He blinks a few times, his gaze blank and distant. It isn't until Annie's voice chimes over the intercom that he begins to remember where he is.

Shane turns his head toward the window and blinks. "Annie? My God is that really you?"

He pushes down on his knees and stands. He stumbles over to the window and places his palms against the glass, wanting so badly to have contact with someone.

His eyes look at her pleadingly as he coughs out, "I don't know how you got all the way back here, I'm so glad it's you. You have to get me out of here. That machine has been holding me in here for the last five years."

Annie pushes back in the chair surprised at Shane's sudden movement and appearance, before sliding the chair back and placing her hand on the glass, "I can't let you out... well, I probably could knowing my powers (I escaped the Daedalus Project after all), but I can't just let you go."

Annie bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes as she realized how hard this was going to be, but something was off with Shane Morris, he didn't seem like himself anymore, no longer the man that she had fallen for thirteen years ago.

"I want answers, Shane. Why are you locked up like this?" Annie asked. "Gidget already told me the gist of what happened... but then again I thought Gidget had died in the battle with Leviathan and now you are locked up. Something about them experimenting on you... there's just so much I seem to have missed in the past thirteen years."

Taking a deep breath, Annie said burying her head in her hands, "I should never have joined the Deadalus Project, then I would have been here for everything."

Shane slowly lays his head against the glass, his eyes locked to the floor. "So that's where you went..."

He moves away from the glass and shakily pulls a chair from next to his bed. He drags it over to the window and falls back into it.

"Daedalus project...a rose by any other name..."

He looks over to Annie with conviction. "Valhalla was a sham...back then. It was made to build an army. The philanthropic nature behind it, safe housing, even helping meta-humans cope with their abilites...all lies. Sounds familiar doesn't it? It wasn't until the machine and Trinity uncovered everything that Daedalus came into existence."

"They used me Annie. They infused me with the substance Cortez made, to serve two purposes. One, so see if the substance had restorative properties. Two, to see if a human could be imbued with meta-human abilities. That's what they did to me, they granted me the same gift that you were given."

He leans back in the chair, his eyes showing disgust and hatred. "As for whatever lies the machine gave you, don't believe any of them. That thing may say it's my sister, but it's just a copy. A steel body holding her soul hostage."

When Kerana siad she was in, Jez relaxed. If she wanted to take the fall that was fine by her. The three sister's nodded as one when Alec asked if they were ready. "The sooner we do this, the sooner we get out of here."

Annie raised a brow at what Shane claimed, it did sound fantastical, but it seemed to be honest enough. Gidget being a machine would explain why she appeared alive and well when the last time Annie saw Gidget she could have sworn the girl had died.

"There's a difference, I joined the Daedalus project knowing fair well it was probably not the bed of roses they were promising," Annie replied coldly, the heavy aura in the room seemed to be growing.

"I believe they used you, but there's nothing I can do about it now," Annie said. "My God... I swear I'll personally see to it those responsible for this happening to you get their comeuppance, but... I just..." Annie trailed off trying to gather her thoughts.

"Shane, you're different," Annie accused finally, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Your aura feels wrong somehow, and for that those responsible will pay but because of your aura I don't know if I should trust you or not. I just want the truth. So, how about let's start with easy questions: what meta-human ability or abilities do you have, now?"

Told em they would find it.But did they listen? Noooo of course they didn't. Idiots...
Liv thanked the medics for their time and left the room. They were right though. It did take Daedelus a while to complete that tracking device.
Then she met Trinity Smith
.Trinity Smith, Shadow Manipulator/Traveler. Kind of my opposite but she can't create. I can take her Liv thought quickly as she spotted her. She didn't show it on her face at all. She had a master level of concealing her real thoughts. Instead her face showed a childish surprise. She cocked her head a bit to the side to express it but didn't get further into it.

"Hi I'm Li-..oh right...you already seem to know that. So did the others. Why's that?" She asked" Did the meteor cause that by the way? Liv pointed at Trinity's ears and hair."Ahh sorry..drifting off again. I should really start to act like my age for once...I say..sign me up!" She said with a radiant smile.

Trinity observed her and took note of the type of personality she conveyed. She could tell that Liv would be popular among the guys here. "Well let me see, question one... We know about your identity and power because we use a database of all the meta-humans that either we or the Daedalus project have come in contact with. Question two..." Trinity places some of her hair behind her pointed ear. "Yes this did happen when I was hit... also my eyes were once hazel now they are a bright green and sometimes they glow...my athletic abilities were changed as well. I was able to more now than I used to...I had to stay in bed for a week after the meteor hit...last but not least..." she gestured toward Liv's shadow and out came a silhouette of a man, "I bet you were hoping to meet someone talk dark and handsome huh?"

Shane shakes his head. "Before I answer your question, I feel I should tell you that you don't have to worry about a Vendetta. The Machine, Trinity, and the shadow twins saw to it that anyone involved in Valhalla's corruption are dead and buried. Whoever was left went back to initiate the Daedalus project."

Shane stands and takes a deep breath. "My powers are of a type one variety...threat level S. The machine designated that level specifically for me, since it has never seen what I can do before. The gas you saw in here keeps my power at it's lowest possible level, which in turns keep me pacified. My body is now composed of a recombinant bio-mass that requires living tissue to thrive. I can heal any wound, enhance my powers, and practically live forever by devouring living creatures."

Shane points to his head. "It has opened my mind to endless possibilities. I can feel life itself, all around me. I can feel every inch of my very being."

The hand that was pointing to his head rears back and lashes forward. Halfway through it's motion the arm twists and contorts in a mass of red and black flesh . Razor sharps bones erupt from where his fingers were and slice four chunks out of the glass. He looks down at his hand and regards it with equal parts disgust and awe.

"They made me into a monster Annie.
