Kerana

As Alec answered, a shiver went down her spine down to the tip of her tail fluffing up her tails. Kerana’s eyes widen, her eyebrows raised. As he came to a realization that she did not speak the question he was answering, she shook her head. “Is this another part of your boon? You can read minds now?”

Alec shook his head and replied, "I don't think so. I think I'd be able to hear the kid's thoughts given how they're looking at me right now."

Alec's eyes became forelorn and regretful. The children were hudling around Kerana like their lives depended on it. He'd been afraid this would happen. His powers weren't like the others. It only served one purpose. He had become what everyone, especially children, fears.

He'd also noticed that Kerana, the one person who mattered to him more than the world itself, was visibly shaken by what he'd become. He thought that, maybe, he should shroud himself in the reaper's cloak and remain out of sight. At least then he'd be able to help without terrifying his beloved.

He looked into Kerana's eyes, not knowing what to say, and hoped she could see that he was still the Alec she shared a mental picnic with. He was just more confident, powerful, and downright scary now.

Kerana felt this sense of dread tugging on her. Though, was it dread? No, it was more, forlorn, regret. She looked to the kids, they were fearing him, although a negative emotion, not the same thing. There was this sense she felt that she had to hide not because of fear but because everyone thought she was a monster. But this was not coming from her.

Her eyes met his. "Please don't hide." she hugged him, "We've been apart long enough. I know you are still you under there. Please, I need time to get used to all the new stuff." she looked directly in his eyes, "You're Alec, you're no monster. " she hugged him tightly then let go.

"Don't ask me how I know… it just happened… it just came over me, like I could feel… what you are feeling? All I knew was it wasn't coming from me nor was it coming from the kids." She looked to him thinking, what is this?

His absorption was definitely better suited for speed. It's efficient and clean. And while he was on the subject of cleaning. The remaining corpses that Gidgets toys made sank through their shadow and straight into Legio.

But there was more to go around. The inhabitants of this place put up a frantic fight. There was a hallway with crushed remains. Legio absorbed what he could through the shadows. Blood, guts, bones, flesh. Whatever he could. But he did not limit himself to the fallen foes. Those that died protecting this place also became part of him. He had gained so much in this short period of time. So much biomass and new abilities from the fallen Meta's. From there on he would strike from the shadows with increased ferocity and brutality.

Alexander shot towards the incoming group at frightening speeds. The rotors and rest of the debris circled around him like a chainsaw. He made sure to be on ground level dashing left and right.

Liv coughed as the dust around her kicked up due to the explosions. Quickly turning into her spectral form. She looked around to see the damage. Troops were advancing and theirs were falling further back. Only a few remained at the front lines. Like that crazy guy Alex-something. She didnt see Heather. Which was odd for something her size. Her stomach turned a bit. Quickly she sent out a message to her using the Beastmasters power.

"Heather! Baby, are you okay? I can't see you around here."

"Alright." He looked at the rest of the group and somehow only now noticed he really was the only guy among them. Like some cliche anime setting. s**t, it even had some of the tropes. Little sister that's not fully blood related. The Milf, a tomboy, a battle crazy catgirl WITH an eyepatch, and former lover who he still has feelings for.

"Ladies, give em hell. And don't let him get into your head." Theo could say before Theresa pulled him away. When they neared the door she asked her question to throw her. "Got it."Using his powers to generate enough for to actually do so, he threw her at the door and making sure her she would deliver enough enough force to break it down."

Crystalion wanted to reply to Theonis but refrained. She just nodded. This entire thing was just one mixed bag of emotions for her. On one side she wanted to help him but on the other she knew that she needed to be with Ravan. In her time Theo was one, if not, the strongest Meta around besides her. But this wasn't him. This was a younger version. One that didn't go through the same trails. But Theo wasn't the only one she was worried about. There was still Dawn and Leo back at Valhalla along with the rest of her kids. A place that she promised would be safe. A place that was currently under siege. One entire day after they had arrived in that so called safe-haven.

"Yeah....we couldn't save ours. I'm sure as hell not going to let this own go down the same path!"

Trinity couldn’t help but smile when she heard Theo rooting for them. She looked at him wishing they could share one more kiss before they left for battle, for it could be their last. No, she can’t think about that right now. She needed her head in the game. Crystalion spoke, she nodded back. Simply observing how ready to go Ravan was enough to know she was ready to face Eclipse.

“Well, you heard the man.” She took their hands with hers covered in ebony armor. They sank into the shadow realm and head to where Eclipse was. Though she could not emerge in the room he resided so instead they were in front of the room where he was. “Show me what you got Ravan.” She said with a smirk.

Ravan laced her fingers, then stretched her arms forward to crack her knuckles. She shook herself loose and huffed.

"Alright. Let's do this s**t!"

She put her arms to her side and exhaled harshly. Her muscles tensed as a rumbling sound came from the massive steel door. She swiftly snapped her arms up and at the door. She moved her open hands toward each other in an effort to focus gravity on the center of the door without creating a singularity.

The rumbling became a deafening groan as the mechanisms began to collapse in on each other toward the center of the door. ATheveins over Ravan's temples began to visibly pulse the harder she strained. The door was a lot more dense than she thought it'd be. She pushed harder while still trying to keep her power in check.

The edges of the door began to fold like tin-foil, but it was getting more difficult the closer to the center it got. Her left nostril began to bleed as she gave one more push and finally lifted the bottom from the slot. She gasped and dropped the door with a resounding clang.

As soon as it happened the group was under assault by a mass of lasers and bullets being fired by Luna's orbs and Strength's giant roating fist respectively. Two lasers seared through Ravan's right shoulder and left hip. She fell back while shouting in pain as the bullets flew over her.

Theresa quickly configured her arms into a single high speed drill that tore through the door with ease due to the assist from her brother. The two guards had little time to react before a pair of gun barrels protruded from her back and shot each of them in the head.

Once she had landed and returned to normal, she flipped the switch that opened the door as far as it would go. "C'mon, they're just down this hall."

She ran a bit further down until the made it to the holding area. Each level was a large circle of cells that went so far in both directions that neither end could be seen. Directly across from them was the fortified control room that housed the cell command panel.

"Over there! In that room!" she cried.

Just as she announced their target, a loud buzzer sounded with an accompaniment of red lights. Guards armed with M4s began to pour out of the doors marked with yellow and red stripes on each floor.

Theresa held her right arm up and configured it into a 50mm gatling gun that would normally be housed in a helicopter. It's massive thing fell forward until she caught the handle in her left hand to steady her aim. The barrels began their warm up spin when she yelled, "Go!"

Her weaponized arm began to fire at a rate of 3,000 rounds per minute. She was taking full advantage of the nearly indestructable cell doors as she swept each floor with indescriminate salvos of metal. She wouldn't be able to keep it up for long, though. That particular configuration would deplete her metal reserves quickly.

Eclipse called over the commotion, "Kill them! Don't let them interfere!"

At the end of the mirrored room, Ecplise was working on alligning a large contraption that housed the giant crystal that housed Rydia's grandmother. Above it were a series of differently shaped prisms that worked their was up a shaft that was opened toward the sky. His control panel also had displays of several Daedalus satelites that were fixed with mirrors.

Luna saw the blonde woman from the beach and called back, "Master, it's the light controller."

Eclipse grumbled loudly in frustration, "Grah! Luna, stay back and guard the machine. Prism, Charriot, Strength, kill them!"

Charriot cackled with mad glee as she configured her arms into a sword and shield. She charged at Trinity.

Prism hissed from behind her mask, marked with a diamond, and flung a salvo of razor sharp gems from her fists at Liv.

Strength stopped firing her gatling fists and leaped at Ravan while the girl was still on the ground.

Silhouette called out, "Be very cautious around my brother. An ancient gains more powers as time goes on. Last I saw, he can shadow walk and manipulate, alter perception, copy powers he's seen for a limited time, and possess humans. But that was centuries ago.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather's head ached a bit as he heard a question from Liv that demanded an answer due to the beastmaster power. Her ear comm had fallen out due to her sudden lack of ears, so she tried to talk back to Liv mentally. Trying to do it through her inner beast was tricky.
"Inside. Deora. Holes in wings. Ok."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The heavy soldiers focused their fire on Alexavier as he came flying at them. It did little good, though, as their brutish weapons were unable to keep up with his speed. They were swiftly cut down by his bladed fury.

The colonel spat a curse and called for their counter asset to subject Gemini-A.

A pod was dropped close to Alexavier's position. A hatch marked "Meta" opened and out stepped a meta with a disgustingly large cranium. Tubes ran across several shaved points on his head. He gaze was empty and his expression confused as drool slid down from his slack mouth.

His head tilted in the direction of Alexavier. His eyes winced in concentration as he reached out and commanded Alex's spinning blades to close in on him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alec nearly cried as she put his mind at ease. "I...don't know, but I think we can feel and hear each other. Just us. Maybe because of our boons? This is-"
His sentence was halted by the sound of more footsteps coming their way. Alec's eyes went dark as he loooked into the possible future. He sighed and said, "-going to have to wait. Someone needs your help."
Dawn helped Leo into the room and saw the two teenagers protecting a group of kids. Dawn was banged up from a physical tussle, but Leo was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Leo grunted in pain and Dawn snapped, "Suck it up. It wouldn't have happened if you'd just use your shadow power."
"I told you, I can't do it. Maybe if you'd kept a better watch on your meds, your powers would be more reliable."
She huffed and rolled her eyes. She looked to Alec, then Kerana. Dawn asked the fox girl, "Heya, you look like a healin' type, or maybe you could point us in the direction of one?"
PostPosted: Thu May 02, 2019 7:25 am
Kerana smiled as she could feel him be at ease. Then his eyes darkened, briefly she thought he would need to fend someone off. Then he said someone needed her help.
Just as Kerana was about to ask who. A blonde with a purple haired kid showed up seemed wounded. She nodded at the question, "Let me take a look."
As the boy was set down. She noticed the boy's hair and ears looked a lot like Trinity's. She was more focused on his wound to say anything about it. As she willed her power her hands start to glow. His wound healed in matter seconds. "All better."
She stood up, "Now your turn." she held Dawn's arm and closed her eyes allowing her to heal the minor scuffs she endured.
As the door was about to drop Trinity brought forth a shield like that of a bomb squad. Which would cover the height of her and Crystalion "Get back!" she called to Ravan.
Her command came too late as Ravan was hit. She was feeling overconfident, for a brief moment forgotten that it wasn't the routine take-down. With the shield in hand, she brought Crystalion close to Ravan. Hoping she could help Ravan. "Things are going to get ugly. See if you can heal her."
Trinity heard Eclipse give his commands to kill them, which lead her to say with a smirk, "That's our cue. They're singing our tune." She stepped away from Ravan and Crystalion.
Charriot cackled with mad glee as she configured her arms into a sword and shield. She charged at Trinity.
A helmet formed on head. The shield she was holding shifted into a smaller battle shield. Her other hand wielded a sword. These weapons were definitely were inspired by her ancestor's work no doubt. To the charging maniac, she called out, "Bring it!"
"Noted. Even including that time trapped in Teshoumaru's body?"
This was just so much fun! Especially with the blades coming closer to make it seem- wait what? That was not his doing. Then he felt what was causing it. Someone airdropped in a dude with a water balloon for a head. And this ******** had the nerve to turn the scrap Alexavier so rightfully collected against himself?!
Well time to get up close and personal with this fellow. Alexavier shot towards the enemy Meta whilst trying to keep his own blades at bay, not stopping the rotation. His grin was slightly unsettling. Hair and eyes shifting to a light pink in anticipation.
Liv was more relieved than she had thought when she heard Heather respond. But what was that bit about Deora? She knew the girl was also outside.
"I'm...relieved to hear that. Please don't push yourself." She send to Heather before asking for instructions from HQ. There were troops on their way and she knew could take them out but this really wasn't her element.
All of this showed that Ravan's power was complicated and Crystalion knew that. Other powers were straight forward but not Ravan's. Too much of it would create a Black-Hole while not enough wouldn't work. She definitely needed to work on it. When they all get back she could properly train her with the help of Valhalla's staff. Back in their world there weren't a lot of opportunities to improve control over ones power. Theo always managed to help people get a better grasp of their abilities better than she ever could. But with the constant threat of being attacked meant that if you wasted energy , you might not make it next time.
It's one of the reasons why Dawn needed her medication. She had inherited all of the abilities her mother had at that point in time but didn't get a lot of chance properly mastering them all. Oh she knew how to use em alright, just not how to regulate them. Thank Gidget's invention for those meds.
Her train of thought was interrupted abruptly by the instant assault. Cystalion's months of nonstop battle kicked in. Instantly she turned into her spectral form. Trinity managed to block some shots in that impressive armor of her. Something she didn't have in her timeline. Was this something all Shadow users could do?
Ravan however...was not so lucky. The sight alone was enough to cause Liv to fly into a fit of rage. But her maturity and levelheadedness gained from surviving in a post-apocalyptic world showed. Forcing herself to remain she materialized her hands and pressed them onto the wounds of Ravan. Using her power to cut her hands and force the wound to stay open she bled into Ravan's wound allowing her wound to close.
The chatter in the distance did not go unheard by her. The light-controller? Guess they had an earlier run in with her younger self.
"Well that was easy"Theo managed to say as they ran towards the control room. It was at this moment that the guards showed up. He used to be somewhat against killing people. Especially people just doing their job but these folks were just as bad as the people they worked for.
"Spoke too soon!" Theresa was ahead of him in this moment it seemed. Already turning her arm into that of a freaking gatling gun! He knew it wouldn't last so he hurried along. Flying along the ceiling so she wouldn't accidentally hit him. Theo busted down the door of the command room and with a literal snap of his fingers scrambled the brains of anyone still in there. The moment he found the right controls he would release the prisoners.
Gidget led them to a large, circular room that had two stations. One was a chair that looked like a high tech "jack-in" chair from the matrix that was positioned in front of a wide monitor. The other was a platform that had two large angled cylinders at waist level. They were hollow, save for the hand grips
Gidget went over to the chair and sat herself in. After adjusting her hair to allow access to her neural port, she called out to Ako, "Get up on that platform and put your arms in those holes. Take hold of the grips and unleash your power. To get this place off the ground, it's going to need a lot of juice."
Ako didn't have as much time as he'd like to admire the defenses Gidget had come up with. There always seemed to be so many of her inventions he never had the time to appreciate. The mental blockage seemed to have stolen so much of his life from him. How much had he gone through that he couldn't remember. It always seemed to come on after he used his power, as if he was only awake during combat, but was unable to experience the life in between. He could save his friends, but not enjoy the time that he'd fought for.
Even after the block was taken away, he feared the effects would be the same. He would need to put out a lot of energy now; would he be the same person when it was through?
He knew he didn't have long, but he went to Gidget and put his arms around her the best he could as she sat, and kissed her deeply. Too early, it seemed, he broke the kiss. "In case something happens. Know you're the best thing to ever happen to me."
As he crossed the room to the platform, he tossed his faded green jacket aside. It always seemed as though he was never without it, but in case the did make it, there was no point in singeing the sleeves more than they already were. With a deep breath, he inserted his arms into the cylinders and gripped the handles. He felt every energy-producing cell in his body charge up, and he started feeding power through his arms, and out his hands. Once he got a sense of how big the conduits were, and knew they could take his full power, he knew it was time. He looked to Gidget once more, saying, "I love you."
The last time he'd used anywhere close to this much power, he'd spent the next decade wandering the country in a daze. Whether he would come out of this the same or not, he knew it had to be done. He closed his eyes and hung his head to concentrate, and for the first time he could remember, he let it all out. The force of a hundred lightning storms and more flowed from his hands and into the machine.
Heather tried to open her wings to assess damage. The wings only managed to twitch a bit before they folded back in. She huffed, "I don't think I'll be gliding anytime soon, but I don't think anything else is wrong. What about you? Those missles could've torn through your ice. Are you okay?"
She shuffled on her knees to face Deora and put her right hand on Deora's cheek. She looked into the latina's eyes and asked, "I'm armor plated and fireproof. Why would you come for me?"
Heather's concern made Deora realize just how stupid she'd been. In her defense, she had never been in all-out combat before, had never seen how powerful missiles were, how fast bullets actually traveled when they were aimed at you. She realized the answer to Heather's question was, "I wasn't thinking. Someo- Something told me I was supposed to help you. I didn't know what else to do out there."
It started to dawn on her just how close she'd come to death. Surely there were others around her who hadn't been so lucky. There had been explosions, bullets, and debris all around her, and all she'd had was a wall of ice. She struggled to maintain the tough girl persona she always sported. She could handle a lot, she had handled a lot in her life, but this? This was too much. She was a fighter, but she never thought she'd see combat. People had tried to hurt her, capture her, but her life had never felt like it was on the line.
"I didn't know what else to do."
She wrapped her arms around herself, not bothering to hold back the scared tears that started to flow. She'd gotten Heather hurt because of her inexperience.
Ravan clutched at her wounds for a few seconds before she found Liv's hands pressed down hard on the gaping burns. She cried out, "God I hate when you do thaaAUGH!"
Her gripe was cut short by the site of person sized metal fists coming down on them. She wasn't sure if Liv's light form could be affected by gravity, but she bet that the woman was focused more on the injured teenager than the angry kid about to crush them.
She grabbed onto Liv's hands and shifted their gravity so Ravan's back slid on the floor as though it were made of ice. After they cleared Strength's fist she shifted them toward the ceiling. She then let go of Liv's hand and blurted out, "Shiney one's mine."
She shifted her own gravity toward Prism and flew at the crystal slinging girl foot first.
