Gidget looked up at Ako with misty eyes. All she could manage without completely losing her cool was an enthusiastic nod and a, " And you've made me whole."

She took a deep breath and braced herself for the neural link to insert itself into her skull. She shuddered as the plug established a link to the entire facility. She initiated comms to everyone with an ear piece

"Ragnarok protocol is a go. All guardians return to the interior. Everyone brace for lift-off."

Then Ako said those words that sounded like a harp in her ear. She wiped her eyes dry. She thought back to when she was just a doe eyed teenager that would day dream of the quiet pretty boy. How many women could say they ended up with the man of their dreams. That felt really damn good.

Gidget smirked and quipped, "Hell yeah you do."

She could feel the facility power up toward it's full capacity to the core of her being. She hoped that she would never have to resort to Ragnarok, but she was definately glad to have had the forethought to prepare. She gripped the chair's arms until her knuckles turmed white. Her pupil's dilated as her consciousness infused itself into every inch of Valhalla. What she had said before was then true.

She was Valhalla.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The wolf shouted from inside Legio's mind, "You ******** animal. It's one thing to consume the clones, but the dead Valhallan's? You're a real piece of s**t. Those people had families and loved ones, and you just take that from them. But why should I be surprised? Your only experience of loss is through my memories."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The ground for miles around shook. The quake's epicenter was the college campus that had found itself under siege. Years ago, Gidget used months of her sleepless nights to install carving lasers around the perimeter of the underground. The vertical cutters blasted through the ground and into the sky as they traced the perimeter.

The sloshy psychic didn't care about the tremor. He was enhanced to deal with Alexavier and that was what he aimed to do. He pushed back hard against Alexavier's charge while simultaniously sending out a mental shock to try and knock the human beyblade off balance.

The snipers were given the go ahead to fire on the targets they could get a clear shot on. Two of them were armed with 50 caliber rifles that were capable of piercing tanks and leaving the occupants as little more than chunks of flesh and bone. There wouldn't be a need for a direct hit; perfect for the current situation.

One of them took aim at Alexavier, the other set his sights on Liv. After they took a few seconds to determine all the necessary factors, they squeezed their triggers and fired. The rounds were already downrange before the shots rang out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inside the foyer, Heather was starting to regret having been so hard on Deora. The water meta acted on instinct. No, more than instinct. It was a desire to protect. A need to protect. A need to be needed. A strong one. Why could she feel that? Why was it so intense?
Then it hit her. The desperation. The desire. The unconscious decision to put herself in harms way...
The dragoness held Deora's upper arms gently and craned her neck gently to meet the latina's eyes. "Deora... she gasped softly. "Do...are you...since when-"
Her broken thoughts were interrupted by Gidget's anouncement. Her head tilted as she audibly wondered, "Lift-off?"
That's when the horrendous shaking started. It caused Heather to lose her balance and topple over onto Deora. She pushed herself up and looked down at her friend. Whatever she was feeling, it was coming from Deora, and it was intense. She had so many questions. But there were more important things to do right at that moment.
"wE..." she cracked, "Ahrm. We should get to the elevators"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Leo nodded to Kerana in appreciation. Dawn was about to dismiss getting treatment when she realized that she wasn't healing. She cursed under her breath and sat still for the fox girl.

When Gidget's message came over their comms, Alec took a quick peek into the near future. Just before the shaking started, he lunged forward and pulled two of the children into his arms. They screamed in fear of his touch, but just a moment later the sudden quake shook a light panel loose. It crashed to tbe floor where the children had been yanked from and shattered.

Her looked down at them while they looked back at the broken plexiglass. "Are you ok?" he asked. They said nothing. They only held themselves close to him as they waited for the shaking to stop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elsewhere in the facility, a squad of troopers trudged up to a hallway full of crushed and broken bodies. They recognised it as the signature of subject Gemini B. After quick confirmation they switched their weapons to something developed for her.
Damien looked to his mother, who had returned to their group of children to keep safe, and plead, "Please. They're getting in somehow. I can stop them, just let me go."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Back in the Daedalus holding area, the guards had no choice but to seek cover from the raining chunks of metal. An alarm was set off by Theonis, and it caused the guards to swiftly retreat. Doors locked down, and automated turrets deployed from the ceilings of every floor. Followed by laser turrets, flame turrets, and explosive round turrets. After the few seconds required to track their target, they opened fire.

A panel finally opened up in front of Theonis. It was marked "CELL OVERRIDE" and had two slots for keys.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Charriot grinned and reconfigured her feet into wheels. Her shield also rapidly grew to the size of a Spartan hoplon and adorned itseld with spikes. Her "ankles adjusted direction and spun her around Trinity. She swung her shield the same way that she had the day before against Freya.
Silhouette's eye tracked the girl and anticipated the move. Without input from Trinity, she brought up a shadow a blocked the shield. She shadow split and held onto the shield like gnarled tree roots.
"Trinity." she called. She trusted her host knew what to do next.
Strength smashed into the ground and put a small crater where Ravan's chest had just been. She stood up and looked behind her to see her target rise from the ground. She grit her teeth and leveled her arms. The tips of her massive finger opened up and began to spin in preparation to kill Ravan in mid flight.
Prism raised her right hand and stopped Ravan in in air. She had made her arm into a hard crystal that nearly cracked under the impact of Ravan's kick. She just hissed at the girl and brought her jagged left arm up to swipe at the enemy.
PostPosted: Sat May 25, 2019 9:57 pm
Theresa had ceased fire when the alarms went off. The barrel stopped it's spin just before she cautiously called out, "Theonis?"
Then the turrets deployed en masse. She cofigured her arm back to normal and looked around fearfully. She couldn't absorb high velocity metals, lasers could sever a limb even if protected, and explosions could still cause internal trauma.
She, a bit louder, called again, "Theonis?!"
Then all Hell broke loose.
Her time in the playground kicked in as she deftly maneuvered and jumped from railing to railing and floor to floor. But it was a lot to deal with, and she knew she'd tire evemtually.
That time she screamed, "THEONIS!!!"
" You make it sound like I took their lives.They are dead. They serve no purpose if left there other than to grieve should Valhalla survive. I know who has fallen and who has not. I can give the families the confirmation that their loved one has fallen. And in a sense they live on inside of me." Legio responded feeling the irony of being called an animal by someone who is more animal than human.
"Believe it or not. I am doing this for you."
As soon as Alexavier heard the order to retreat he actually did. He shot straight up into the air. He did not know the range of that freak but he continued to climb up into the sky. As soon as he felt the grip of his foe weaken he fired the rotors straight down towards him.
Liv too heard the order to retreat. The noise of Valhalla's ascension had her cover her ears and the tremor disrupted her balance. She dropped to her knees, her heart pounding. It was over. Now it was time to get back to her girl. God she missed her. Using the beastmasters powers she sent the dragongirl a message.
"Babe...I'm coming home. And i've been thinking. You wanna make us offici-" Then there was nothing. Just black. Her body fell forwards. Where her head would have been was the start of an impact crater from the powerful sniper.
She looked into her eyes and said, ”This is for Freya!” she took the blades and sliced downward splitting her in two in the process. Her blood splattered on her, Trinity didn't flinch.
While Gidget broke Valhalla from the ground, she was keeping a close eye on the facility's power capacity. She knew Ako was capable of pumping out a lot of juice, but what she was seeing was incredible. On that same note, she could sense that his energy output was decreasing as quickly as he was increasing Valhalla's. It was just like when she asked him to max out thirteen years ago. He nearly put himself into a catatonic state back then.
92%
93%
94%
That would have to be enough. She forced the conduits Ako was holding onto to shutdown just at the power readout showed 95%. She couldn't move much with the plug in her neck, but she did her best to look over her shoulder at him.
"Ako! Ako are you okay?" she called to him.
"Oh hell ye, No, oh no" Theo said as he realized he pressed the wrong ones before that and set off the alarms. What he really didn't like were the turrets that seemed to pop up from freaking everywhere. Theresa calling his name only confirmed that it was bad for her as well. Quickly he dashed out but stopped before stepping into the open. It was odd but he sensed every single turrets movements. It reminded him when that Damian kid synchronized his source as he called it. He reached out the ones that he could increased the pressure to crush them or at least prevent them from moving any further.
Meanwhile Cassandra was perfectly fine if you didn't count the blood on her. Not hers obviously. She had to protect the little ones. And that is what she would do. What Damian asked of her wasn't easy for her. But she knew he had her powers as well as her fathers. He would most likely be safer than she could be. She looked at Damian as her eyes and hair changed to a light green color. Her expression showed deep concern as if she was torn with the decision but she knew he would be fine.
"Okay, just be careful and ....show no mercy to them." She said and her hair changed back to a shade of red.
Crystalion changed back into her spectral form to avoid the slam. Then turned back behind her attacked and canceled Strength's power. She followed up by striking at the neck with her hand like a lightsaber.
Ako put everything he had into the conduits, gritting his teeth in concentration. He braced against the quake as Valhalla lifted off. The handles were getting hot in his hands, but he ignored it. He'd failed too many times recently, he wouldn't let himself fail now. Steam rose from his sweating palms, stray arcs flashed up the edges of the cylinders around his arms. His vision was growing dark, except for a power readout showing how far he had to go. He focused on it and let the rest of the world fade out. As the percentage rose, he felt his own falling.
At 92% his legs shook.
At 93% it spread to his arms.
At 94% he could barely stay standing.
At 95% the readout told him the connection had been cut. He didn't know if something had malfunctioned or if something else had happened. He didn't know if he'd need to help fix the problem or fight off intruders again.
He struggled to release the handles and tried to step back, but his strength finally gave out. He fell to his knees, then his hands, and finally sat on his heels to keep from collapsing completely. Steam rose from his hands and arms, sweat cooking off of his burned arms in the air-conditioned air. He hung his head and struggled to catch his breath. He shook all over, and had no power to do anything else. He barely heard Gidget calling for something, but he couldn't answer or even raise his head. He couldn't even open his eyes. For the first time since the meteor, he couldn't feel the spark inside of him.
He hoped it had been enough.
He collapsed to the side and lay still.
Deora lifted her gaze from the floor and looked the dragon in the eyes when she touched her. The icy blue orbs were filled with worry; for Heather, for her new home, and for her future. The look turned toward confusion at Heather's unfinished questions, but she didn't have time to ask anything before the ground shook and they both fell to the floor. Once again she found herself underneath the dragon. She could only nod as Heather suggested they get to the elevators. They had to get somewhere safer.
Ravan twisted in midair and rolled sideways to avoid the blow. She was used to fighting giant, lumbering bio-beasts in a similar fashion. What came next was a routine she was accostomed to.
She dropped to the ground and increased the gravity fifty fold on Prism. Satisfied that her opponent was incapacitated, she made a mad dash for Luna. She kept her eyes pealed for the laser orbs that burned her earlier.
If the wolf scoffed incredulously, "For me? How could devouring the dead bodies of those who died protecting this place possibly benefit me? You know what? Nevermind. Don't do me any favors. You did more than enough when you aided Eclipse just because you wanted to learn some cosmic truth. This s**t wouldn't be happening right now if you'd just let Freya kill him."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The psychic lazily looked up at Alexavier. He seemed to not care that he was about to be killed by large shards of flying metal. The pieces of rotor landed and tore into...nothing.

The psychic masked his presence and had maneuvered out of danger's path at the last moment. He positioned himself behind Alexavier and prepared a fatal blow.

"Uwaugh." he gurgled as the air in front of his massive, soft head seemed to ripple in front of him. The rippling focused between his eyes and took on a blueish hue. With the veins on his forehead about to burst, the thing unleashed a psychic bolt aimed at Alexavier's chest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather moved a few steps with Deora when she heard Liv's message. When her treasure has stopped projecting in midsentence, the dragoness paused in mid step. The message hadn't simply halted, it was severed. The beastmaster power had instilled a fear in Heather that compelled her to check on Liv.
She remembered that Liv had taken pearch on the main building. Heather looked up at the skylight, took a deep breath, and blasted a ball of flame at the glass. She used her body and wings to shield Deora from the shards that fell.
"Deora, something's wrong. I can't feel Liv's power anymore. I can't fly to the roof. Can you get us up there? Please. She might be hurt." she plead with the water-meta.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Damien nodded and sighed, "I will. It's not like they have anything that can kill someone like us, right?"

Just as he said that, a squad of troops breached the door and leveled strange weapons that were stocked by a black liquid. Without hesitation, and, before Damien had time to react, they fired a salvo of dripping dark orbs at Cassandra and Damien that stuck on contact. When connected, they began to expand, building on top of one another like clay.

Damien was annoyed at first, but when he realized that no amount of strength or psycbokinesis was going to get them off he began to panic as the goo began to work itself closer to his face. He looked to his mother to see if she was faring any better.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alec was still holding the children that were clung to him when he felt something that rocked him to the core. He could feel every passed soul move onto the next plane, but there was something about one that got his attention. It was so bright, so full of vigor. Yet it was sad...so very sad. If he could feel that then...
He looked over to Kerana and reached out through their link.
Kay, did you feel that? Someone's passed, and it left a void. I can't tell who it was, not without leaving.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gidget heard Ako his the ground. Without thinking, she tried to jump out of her chair. She was painfully reminded of the responsability has had taken. She took two quick and deep breathes to center herself. She pulled up Ako's vitals using the room's sensors and his suit's real time display. He was still alive, just very weak. She sighed with relief. He would be ok. She had to trust that.

The facilty was almost to travel altitude. She took the time to look up the away team's vital's. Heightened, but healthy. Must be fighting.

She then looked to the facility. Too many flatlines. A lot of familiar-

"Oh...oh no."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The weapons Theonis was targeting were built solid. The stand they were attached to, however, were not. They collapsed and toppled over. One MK-19 turrent launched one last shell as it fell from the ceiling. That shell went straight for Theresa just as she had taken a hard landing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Charriot gurgled and did the splits up to her chest. All the while grinning.

Strength gasped and fell forward with a hole in her neck.

Prism cracked and shattered under her own weight.

Eclipse was about to swear up a storm when he heard some very good news over his earpiece.

He arched a brow and looked back at the Liv that had just killed Strength. "...Huh."

A chime pinged on his console. He looked down to see that everything was properly alligned. All he had to do was wait a few more minutes until the Eclipse happened further past the horizon.

So close. Eclipse thought he might as well see what was up with Iron Trinity, other Liv, and a new girl that intrigued him. He grinned and called out, "You three can get up now. I was really hoping you wouldn't use up your lifelines so quickly."

Charriot's eyes snapped open and glowed yellow. Her blood was replaced with a black, shadowy ooze that pulled her back onto her hands and feet. She cackled maniacally as her arms and legs clicked and shifted into metallic legs that were almost insect like. She her pelvis gained joints that allowed her upper torso to split from her arms. Her limbs grew and reconfigured larger and larger until she was the size of a large tank with a human sized torso on top and head atop. Her shoulders grew new metallic limbs. She stood to full size and looked down at Trinity. She was a laughing, steampunk nightmare.

Silhouette couldn't believe her eye. "Impossible! She shouldn't be able to shatter her terminus so easily, if at all!"

Charriot rose a limb and brought it down on Trinty.

Strength's eyes blazed red. The hole in her neck was patched up by the same black shadows. She rose to her hands and knees. She huffed and puffed rapidly as her internal body temperature rose to critical levels. She slammed her fistas against the ground in rage as her body began to produce small licks of flame. With a defiant and furious cry, she reared back and shot flames from the joints of her metallic limbs. Her body configured two more giant arms, and her legs underwent their own configuration to support the addeweight distribution. Her tail licked from side to side as the joints of her four arms glowed with an internal lava flow.

She glared at Liv with rage as a few drops of lava fell from her lips. She rose her arms up and brought two down on Liv. The other two fell to the sides and made the ground around them erupt in flames.

Prism eyes glowed an emerald green. Her body shatter further and further until it was nothing but weightless diamond dust and shards. The cloud of glittering blades swirled and swung in front of Ravan before the reformed into Prism. She swiftly removed her mask and blew a cloud of diamond dust into Ravan's face.

Ravan was about to be within range of Luna when she was forced to skid to a halt. She was greatly confused. The kid was just a broken mess.

"What the fuauhawk!" she caughed as the dust hit her square in the face. She grasped at her face and throat. She felt likes millions of tiny needles were poking her skin, sinuses, eyes, and throat all at once. It didn't take long for the pain to reach her lungs. She fell to her hands and knees as she hacked and gasped. With a series of harsh coughs she began to expell flecks of blood onto the mirrored floor. She couldn't see herself, but her face began to bleed from hundreds of tiny cuts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theresa saw the explosive shell come at her at the last possible moment she could make her chest into a metal plate. It detonated and sent her flying into a rail. Her considerable weight caused it to fold under her and offered no support. She lost her sense of placement and didn't grab for anything until she was already falling. Her eyes went wide with terror as she began to fall to the depths below.
She had taken similar falls in the playground, but never from that height and certainly not into the maximum security level..
Charriot gurgled and did the splits up to her chest. All the while grinning.
Her blade had Charriot's blood dripping. With a flick of her wrist she shook off the blood and shifted it away. She was about to head deeper within the room of mirrors to go after Eclipse. Instead, she heard his voice.
s**t!
This did not come across her face. Instead, she ran toward the limb she leaped up, held on to the limb and swung herself up. She shifted the armor on her feet to stick to the metallic arm and ran up it. If these three came back odds are others who have a similar mask would too. Like Phantom the Head Chopper. She found a spot behind one of her knees which the creature would have trouble reaching. "Sil cover me! I need to warn Gidget!" There was a chance that only these three were affected but she couldn't subject Valhalla to that chance.
Normally she would drop into a shadow and type full sentences to Gidget about the matter. She had no luxury in this case. Facing a reflective foe in a reflective room meant she had no shadows to tap into. Reluctantly the quickest way she could send said message was with ... emojis. I hope she can quickly figure this out.
Hope that's enough to go on "Thanks Sil. Ok, now let's do something about those extra limbs." She drew her blades out she adjusted her feet to slide down her leg a little then jumped up to upper swipe at her thigh.
"Theresa!!"Theo should as he was too slow to respond to the last explosive shell. He could barely see Theresa fall over, or rather, through the railing. She couldn't fly. Not as far as he knew. The other floors still had security turrets thanks to his ********. Was there enough time to disable them? Would she be okay? Would she die? Would he let someone else die in front of him again?! Images of Larry flashed through his mind. No!
The young man shot forward with his power. Leaping off the walkway and propelling himself downwards. She was falling fast due to her weight. Theo extended his power to try and catch her mid air, slowing her fall enough for him to catch her.
Cassandra's tried to get the black stuff off of her arm bit with no avail. Grabbing Damian by the collar and leaped into cover with him.
"Shut down those guns!"She said as she tore off metal plating from the ground. Quickly rising out of cover she threw the thing like a lethal metal Frisbee.
Crystalion looked at how the girl came back to life. She was going to say like a Phoenix but that would be an insult. Those were graceful and beautiful. This...this looked like an Ifrit or other fire elemental. And it seemed she wasn't the only one going through such a transformation. Like looked like the Scorpion King and the other....was dust? And on her knees was Ravan! Strength raised her quadruple arms and slammed two with Crystalion in her sights while the other two fell by her sides? Crys blinked behind her, grabbed her neck and started her Drain in full blast.
Deora stopped a step or two after Heather, and felt a pang of fear from somewhere outside herself just before the dragoness shot a bolt of fire through the glass above them. She barely suppressed a shriek as she ducked under her wings. Glass rained down on them, and wind from Valhalla's flight buffeted them. When it was clear, she peaked out from under the wings as Heather asked for her help.
"I...I don't know how!" She answered. She could control water, but she wasn't telekinetic. If they were still on the ground, maybe she could burst a pipe with enough pressure for them to ride it up there, but did Valhalla have that pressure while flying?
"Wait...", the water tanks and pools where she'd trained! They'd be connected to a water main, the same one that she'd used outside to help the defenders. She'd just have to bring the water back up from the lower levels. A couple days ago that would have been far beyond her abilities, but maybe she'd be able to now.
Closing her eyes in focus, she traced the pipes, found the water, and tried to bring it up. It was going to make a mess, but it was all she had. She brought just a small amount at first, enough to break through the pipes and floor. Concrete chunks and steel moved aside with a groan and crack as she willed the water to push them aside with a slight rising of her hand. With a clenching of her fist she froze this into a platform and prepared herself for the true test.
"Get on there, and hang on tight."
She had to put this fear aside. It wasn't hers. She was strong. She had to be to get this far with the shitty hand she'd been dealt. She'd never been the damsel in distress, and she wasn't about to start now, when people needed her. She didn't know if this was a good plan, but it was all she had, and she would make it work.
When Gidget's message came over their comms, Alec took a quick peek into the near future. Just before the shaking started, he lunged forward and pulled two of the children into his arms. They screamed in fear of his touch, but just a moment later the sudden quake shook a light panel loose. It crashed to the floor where the children had been yanked from and shattered.
He looked down at them while they looked back at the broken plexiglass. "Are you ok?" he asked. They said nothing. They only held themselves close to him as they waited for the shaking to stop.
Alec was still holding the children that were clung to him when he felt something that rocked him to the core. He could feel every passed soul move onto the next plane, but there was something about one that got his attention. It was so bright, so full of vigor. Yet it was sad...so very sad. If he could feel that then...
He looked over to Kerana and reached out through their link.
Kay, did you feel that? Someone's passed, and it left a void. I can't tell who it was, not without leaving.
Shortly after she was done healing she heard Gidget's voice on the comms. "What? Did she say lift-?" before she could finish the shaking started. She stumbled and fell near Alec who had just rescued children from a light panel.
When Kerana felt that one bright soul move on, the sadness panged her so. Tears fell out of her eyes uncontrollably. Yes, I don't think you'd have to go anywhere. I think I know… it's Liv. Are you able to find out what happened to her?
