Charriot clutched her shoulder and whimpered loudly. Her power wasn't there to numb the pain or stop the bleeding. That had never happened before, and it scared her something awful.
It took her a moment to realize that she was being held. That was another sensation that she had never felt before. It felt nice, as did Trinity's assurances that she'd be okay.
Then Trinity informed her that she was left behind by Eclipse and her sisters. A rush of different emotions hit her all at once. But in all that, she felt like laughing. She had to laugh. Right? She was the joy of her little quintet.
She chuckled, nervously at first, but then she began to cackle in a crazed manner that would suggest she found the whole thing hilarious beyond description. But then the laughter began to morph into something much more in line with what she felt. Slowly it became sobs of despair that mocked what laughter was supposed to sound like.
She didn't hear Trinity's question at first. It felt like when a person vaguely hears what's on the TV in the next room. It wasn't until Legio began to speak that she quiet down and start to pay attention to what was going on.
Then Trinity picked her up. She heard the woman's words. They were kind, but firm. She didn't understand. She had done what she was told. She was allowed to have fun. Hurting people was supposed to be fun, right? That's what the adults had told her when she was old enough to fight. But there was one thing she really didn't understand. It was a word she hadn't heard before.
She was starting to feel cold on top of the pain in her shoulder. She shivered and asked, "What is choice?"
The wolf cradled her mother and lift stood with no effort. She didn't even feel a strain in her legs. It gave her pause, but only for a second. She walked toward Trinity while her student spoke to the cackling girl.
She regarded Legio with a huff at being called Freya and snarled, "Well I'm happy to disappoint you. I'll be damned if I'm ever going to do anything you'd enjoy on purpose."
She looked down at her mother and brushed some hair from her face. "She...might not wake up. No one has ever been released from the Founder's Crystal before death until today."
Swift footsteps and the tap of claws echoed down the corridor leading to the group's location.
Rydia and Carak raced into the hangar. The young woman came to a sliding stop as she began to take in the scene around her. She grit her teeth and cursed the delay she faced at the hands of more security personnel on her way there.
She saw the creature from before and bared her teeth. She began to size him up when Carak's barking broke her vengeful gaze. She looked in the reason for his noise and felt her mouth fall open.
"O-Okami? B-but...how?!" she stammered.
The wolf sighed, "Hey kid. It's a long story. Go help Trinity with that blonde girl. She's bleeding out, and we need her alive."
Rydia nodded and rushed to Trinity and Chariot while she reached into the first aid pouch on her left thigh. She loudly cussed in Elvish when she saw the wound and asked, "What did this to her?"
She wasted no time in trying to pack the wound to stop the bleeding.

It took her a moment to realize that she was being held. That was another sensation that she had never felt before. It felt nice, as did Trinity's assurances that she'd be okay. But then the laughter began to morph into something much more in line with what she felt. Slowly it became sobs of despair that mocked what laughter was supposed to sound like. … She was starting to feel cold on top of the pain in her shoulder. She shivered and asked, "What is choice?"
As she reacted to the news she was left behind Trinity did not think laughter would be the first thing you’d do. As she began to sob she rubbed her back in attempt to comfort her.
When she posed her question it became clear that she didn’t get out much. “Hmmm, how to explain it… Let’s say you are going down a path and it splits into two paths. One goes left the other goes right. The path you continue on, without anyone else telling you is your choice. Now I’m asking you to choose your path.” She proceeded to open her right hand and said, “Do you want to join us and help us take down Eclipse?“ She opened her other hand “Or do you wish to return to Eclipse? Bare in mind I can protect you with this option “ referencing her right hand “but I won’t hesitate to kill you if you choose the other. I’ll give you a moment on this matter.”
Nova Blancke "None of that changes that she has a part of Eclipse inside of her head and is a potential threat to you. To Valhalla should you decide to take her there."Legio said in his neutral tone. Raising his finger, it elongated and tapped Chariot on her forehead."It's right there in the middle."
“You’re able to sense it. Are you able to remove it? Gidget told me how you were able to help Ako. Could you do the same for her?”
Rikki Tikki Travi … The wolf sighed, "Hey kid. It's a long story. Go help Trinity with that blonde girl. She's bleeding out, and we need her alive."Rydia nodded and rushed to Trinity and Chariot while she reached into the first aid pouch on her left thigh. She loudly cussed in Elvish when she saw the wound and asked, "What did this to her?"
She wasted no time in trying to pack the wound to stop the bleeding. She referred to Legio, “He did. Though to be fair she was fighting me earlier, so he had reason to. As she said, we need her alive she may be able to help us.”

Kerana Kerana nodded then started to fall out of their vision of the skyscraper. She caught herself before she landed. She looked pale, her breath a little laboired and she was sweating. Kerana looked up to him, “I’m willing…” she made a fist “I’m willing, to do whatever it takes.”
Alec could only grin in response to how incredible and brave he thought Kerana was. Of course she was. She was the only girl in their class that would speak to him without any sort of vitriol in their voice. It was one of the many reasons he was so in love with her.
He looked over to the siblings that had been watching the doorway and apologetically requested, "I hate to keep asking for favors, but could you guys watch over the kids for just a bit while Kerana and I take care of some business?"
Leo chuckled and replied, "You say that like we wouldn't do it anyway. Go on, we've got things here."
Dawn gave an enthusiastic thumbs up and said, "Go show them who's boss."
Alec nodded to them in appreciation. He took a few steps away from Kerana and held his right hand out to his side. An ethereal blue flame appeared under his palm. It grew and took the shape of Crosis' scythe. Alec took hold of it and gasped. His skin paled and the black tear marks appeared again.
He swiftly slashed upward at the air and opened a rift to where Cassandra was doing her best to keep Damien safe from the threat Alec and Kerana sensed.
Alec dispelled the scythe. His appearance returned to normal once the blue flame dissipated. His breathing was a bit heavier than it was before he held the scythe. Beads of sweat formed on his brow. He took a deep breath and looked into the possibilities of the near future.
"Her powers are like Shane's." he said flatly. After his last run in with a bio creature, he didn't look forward to what was to come. He looked to Kerana once he'd seen enough
"Our odds are better than they were with Crosis. This is going to sound crazy, but I need you to step on the patch of dry ground in front of the gate. The same power that keeps me here will revive the flora. That will get her attention on us instead of Cassandra and Damien. It'll be up to us from there."
"One other thing. She wont be able to consume us, but she can still kill us. It's going to be scary, but I wont let her hurt you. Okay?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damien yelped and stammered, "Ah! R-right!"
He reached out to one of the special rifles that had been discarded. Using the memory of the soldier he consumed, he flipped the safety to burst and did his best to center the laser sights while he was being jostled by Cassandra. He opened fire and emptied the magazine. The boy hoped whatever was loaded in the thing would stop the crazy woman from reaching them.
Elise retracted her tendrils and raised her left arm up to form a body covering shield. The rounds impacted and shattered against the shield. From the fragments came a fine mist that seemed to slither it's way toward the closest source of CO2, but Elise knew what the rounds were designed to do, so she made the shield grow a second set of lungs and simple nostrils before she split it off of herself and discarded it. It didn't take more than a few seconds for the shield to begin seizing and then fall still.
"Nice try, boy. Doesn't work so well on something that can shift it's form."
Damien grit his teeth and swore, "s**t!" He could see how the round would have been lethal to his mother. As far as he knew, her invincibility didn't extend to her organs. She was susceptible to drowning and a suffocation like any other oxygen dependent being.
It was then he felt something appear out of literal thin air. He lifted his head toward at what looked like a tear in just above the ground. He felt simultaneous dread and hope from two familiar sources.
"Mom, we've got backup."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The subject felt something rising up from down below. He flew out of the way just in time, but his clones were not so fortunate. They went limp as the sharks thrashed and dragged them back into the ground. He threw an invisible barrier between himself and the last shark. A little more ingenuity and he had the deep sea predator stuck like a mime in a box that only it new about.
He looked to Alexavier and opened his mouth to speak. His body seized and then began to contort like a Cirque du Soleil performance viewed in fast forward. His neck craned and snapped. His eyes rolled back into his head and his mouth went slack.
The world around them began to crack and splinter. The subject's head split open and released a dark, ominous cloud. The cloud quickly engulfed the sky, creating an immense aura of murder and madness that manifested as a thick pressure.
The oppressive fog split open in three places. From them formed two mad eyes; then a mouth that widened into a Cheshire grin.
"Alexavier! You old so and so." the grin chuckled. "It's been too long! Why I haven't seen you since you were this together!"
A large section of the clouds morphed into colors and shapes. They settled on the moment Alexavier and Cassandra were split apart from the single person they once were.

Rikki Tikki Travi Chariot made a face and replied, "Well I don't want to die." After a second more of thought she asked, "But...if I go with you c-can I...have fuuuuuun?"…. “Yes you will have fun.” she said reassuringly. She needed to give her something to keep fighting.
Rydia huffed and hissed, "Damnit! She's going into shock. Trinity, put her down and prop her legs up with something while I try to stop this bleeding." Trinity nodded then noticed Rydia’s, Carak’s and Freya’s reaction to Ravan and Crystalian. This can’t be good… Planning on taking a closer look at the situation she was placing Chariot down then…
Rikki Tikki Travi … "Trinity, put the girl down and kill Ravan before she becomes terminal!" she demanded.
She rubbed her head, “Kill… Ravan?” Are you sure about this? It seemed she and Crystalion were having a family quarrel. She took a deep breath killing a kid wasn’t something she looked forward to. She placed Chariot down then used Chariot’s shadow to keep her feet elevated. “Take good care of her.” she said to Rydia.
She stood up and hoped she could dismantle the situation so that she didn’t have to kill her. But if she found there was no way of doing that she will do what she would have to do. She dropped through her shadow and emerged from behind Ravan. She could feel the gravity shifted to a heavier gravity. Luckily Trinity had trained in higher gravity, her highest was 201 times normal gravity this felt like something around 50 times.
“Ravan please stop!” there was no way anyone could not hear what she accusing Crystalion of she also remembered Eclipse had something to do with but was not clear how he did it. “You’ve been lied to… it hurts to find that out. Especially when it’s someone you trust. If you kill her now you will never know the full truth and aside from that the woman did help raise you. Would you have been able to survive on your own without her?” she really didn’t want to kill her she came here with her son.

The smile in the sky widened enough to cause the eyes to squint. "Ah, right. Must've drudged that up from your memory since Tommy here connected himself to you psychically. 'Cuz you were a fleshy, boney, chunky sin against God before we fixed you up."
The clouds twisted and took on the shape Eclipse had just mentioned.
"Damn, that is hard to look at. All that slurping and gurgling. You two looked liked an open wound on a nut sack that had teeth growing out of it.That 's some real life Cronenberg s**t right there."
The shape dissipated and the sky became wholly cloudy once more. He returned his attention to the tiny little psychic below him.
"But enough reminiscing. My crazy scheme has gone tits up, and I need to let off some steam. Tommy big brain gave me an awesome shot at reducing you to a drooling veggie boy. Gotta say, it's pretty wild to be nothing more than a mental projection resulting from a piece of me being in this kid's noodle."
The darkness that made up the face twisted and funneled down to the ground. They gathered and created a person sized representation of Eclipse before he was reduced to a parasite. He had a curtain of ebony hair that just swept his shoulders. His features suggested he may be Persian in decent. His dark attire was that of a Lord from 14th century Eastern Europe. He sighed heavily with satisfaction. It had been literal ages since he'd been himself.
"Now, howabout we get this little game of keep away started?" he snickered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What are you doing?!" Silhouette admonished. "You need to kill her before she gives into her emotions and destroys the city."
Rydia was trying her best to let Crystalion and Trinity handle Ravan. Chariot's bleeding had almost stopped, but the girl wasn't out of the woods yet.
The wolf's instinct begged her to get away from the danger. She damn near listened to it, but she wasn't about to abandon her niece and student. Besides, it looked like the two of them were getting the little ball off blonde anger under control.
Then her instinct wasn't begging anymore. It was screaming.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gidget saw that the armed forces had ceased fire. One objective down. But the Daedalus' troops were still pouring in from the gates.
A proximity alarm began to sound in the chamber. She looked up at a monitor that displayed the access door to the elevator that led down to the core. A small squad was cutting into the door with a torch. It would take them a while, but they'd get through eventually.
She looked over her shoulder at Ako and prayed silently. Please wake up. I need you. We need you.

Theresa listened silently but closely to her brother talk about a man she'd never met. When he was done, she remained silent for a moment as she chewed on his suggestion.
"I...don't know. The happy stupid one will make me sleep if there's no danger. I'm only awake when she's hurting. All I know is pain...and you. I want to smile, and eat burgers, and not have to hurt. But she'll take that too. Just like she took the his love."
The cutter finally finished. Her arm returned to normal, and she motion for Theonis to help her lift him out of the hole. Way above them a series of alarms went of.
"The others freed the rest on their way out, I think. We need to leave."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ravan whirled around to Trinity and screamed, "Shut up! I did survive! For years! All alone!"
She raised a hand to change Trinity's plane of gravity when she dropped to the ground. Her power was no longer working. She immediately knew who was responsible. She spun around again only to have Chystalion restrain her.
"I don't care! Let go! I hate you!" she shrieked as she thrashed uselessly. Her muscles were still too small and weak to fight off someone even remotely stronger than her. All the while, the darkness was creeping up to her shoulders.
Ravan felt small and helpless. Just like she did when she was first thrown into the wastelands alone. Her power would react to dangers, but she didn't feel any semblance of power until she gained control of them. She felt useless, weak, and terrified without her powers.
But you don't have to.
But she didn't have to. She could feel something deep in the pit of her stomach. It was something that had pawed at the back of her mind when she made black holes. Something deep and frightening. But as she struggled and screamed, it was becoming less and less frightening. It was crept, no, welled up within her.
The darkness slid past her shoulders and began to work it's way down her torso and toward the sternum. The floors began to rumble again. The deep power would not be held back by Chrystalion. It was beyond metahuman capabilities.
"You. Threw. Me. AWAY!!!"
The deep power exploded and shifted the gravity around her to the walls. The gravity exerted was at least three times more powerful than a moment ago.
