More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

So, Valhalla is no longer corrupt...Annie thought to herself making a mental note before carefully listening to Shane talk about his power and then his ramblings about possibilities. Shane was power hungry, it was evident. She was lost in thought briefly when razor sharp bones erupt from where his fingers were and chunks of the glass were sliced out: she let out a squeak of surprise at the movement.

Composing herself, Annie replied standing, "Just because they made you a monster doesn't mean you have to be one. You taught me that there is always something good that can be done even with the darkest powers. Do you remember that?"

"Or do you remember and not care?" Annie asked, sighing. "That was when I think I really fell for you: when you showed faith that I wasn't a monster even when I did horrible things with my power- like kill some of Charles Ray's grunts. So, now I ask you, what did you do to make you a monster? There are plenty of people with monstrous powers out there right now, myself included, but Valhalla isn't the one locking us up. What did you do Shane to get yourself locked up by your own sister?"

When Kerana siad she was in, Jez relaxed. If she wanted to take the fall that was fine by her. The three sister's nodded as one when Alec asked if they were ready. "The sooner we do this, the sooner we get out of here."

The creature smiles, happy that things went along with this scenario. "Okay then, before we go are there any questions about what everyone's role is in this act of goodwill?"

Shane's hand returns to normal as he cuts his eyes at Annie. "That abomination is not my sister. It stopped me from saving Gidget's soul."

"After Leviathan destroyed Gidget's heart, that machine she was in took her soul in order to give itself life. It may sound and look human, but it took a while for it to get that way."

"The reason I am locked up in here is because I got close to finding a way to put Gidget's soul back into a human body. But that thing doesn't want to give it up! I was so close to bringing her back, but it cheated me out of helping her!"

Shane desperately scrambles to the window and slams his hands against the glass, his eyes manic. "It probably told you I'd lie to you, but I'm telling the truth. It has Gidget's soul, it has taken her life for it's own. You have to let me out of here so we can save her. Please Annie!"

"Fine, Gidget isn't Gidget," replied Annie, "but whatever 'Gidget' is is not evil, I can tell you that much. And, you're right, 'Gidget' did tell me that you would tell me some bits of the truth and some lies."

Annie took a deep breath, "But I don't think trying to put Gidget's soul back into a human body is right either. Even if that is what you claimed to want to do, I can't let you out to do that. That's an abomination of nature. Gidget died- or at least I thought she did. But if she merged with the machine, fine there isn't much we can do about it. But putting her soul back into a human body that is a true abomination, Shane."

"Shane, you can't reunite souls with human bodies... that, that just doesn't work," Annie said shaking her head, auburn curls following the movement.

Liv giggled a bit after seeing it and hearing Trinity's comment.
"But I already have. You are taller than me, a little bit darker than me and you are handsome! Pretty is a better word for it though." She said with a playful wink. That was something she did not lie about. She really did think that way about Trinity.

Liv pointed her finger towards the shadow and shot a heart of light in its chest. She seemed happy but her smile slowly turned into a bit of a pout."You probably have a boyfriend though..."

Shane slams the glass with his fists and roars, causing the walls around him and Annie to shudder.

"No, the real abomination is that her soul is being used to fuel that thing. It doesn't feel, it can't cry, I've seen it! It had to learn those emotions from watching people. Gidget would laugh, she was ticklish, she would jump at you with a big tackling hug when you came home. She could...could..."

He places his head against the glass and slides down. He huffs at first, then breaks into a sob...except the tears that fall are not made from natural materials.

"I was so close Annie...I just needed more time. I can still give her back her life. It works, I know it does I can feel it. I can feel peoples souls with this power...I just need to get out of here. Please Annie...please don't let it keep her from living."

Great now I'm stuck in this awkward situation. Thanks a lot Gidget.

He raised an eyebrow towards Tansy and the guy she was clinging to."Oh don't mind me." He said as he walked away from them but didn't leave the room seeing as he had no idea on where else he is allowed to go to.

Annie flinched at Shane's outburst, turning her back to him, and sliding against the glass to the floor, covering her ears and then burying her face into her hands. Tears began to fill Annie's brown eyes as she said, "Shane... I'm sorry. But you can't bring the dead back to life. Gidget is gone and we have a machine in her place but we can't bring her soul back to a living body... that's wrong."

So much was wrong, Shane had a temper nothing like she had seen before in him... Gidget who was supposed to be dead was "alive" or at least alive as a machine... and then there was the fact that she was crying in frustration and a mix of other emotions thanks to Shane's pushing. Shane should be comforting her, or that is what Annie had hoped coming to Valhalla instead she felt alone.

Tansy had Ako and Ako had Tansy... Gidget was well not quite Gidget but close... and Shane, Shane was well what he was now.

Annie took a deep breath and said her voice cracking as she worked to change the subject, "You said you could live forever off living organisms in theory at least... how much experimentation did you do to learn that fact, Shane?"

Shane pauses for a moment. He had never really considered counting the number of people and animals he had consumed over the years. He takes a moment and tallies the number of other memories he has.

After a few seconds he arrives at an answer. "In the eight years I was free I have consumed two hundred and forty rats, three hundred and thirty three pigeons, fifty-three dogs, forty-four cats, and seven-hundred and eighty nine humans. It took a few years and many lives to see that I wasn't aging, and that their living tissue could repair mine. You shouldn't feel bad for those humans though...most of them were scum."

Annie turned and stood up, her face stony despite tears still streaking her face, "Thank-you, that is all I need to know. You really are a monster. I thought there was hope for you, or I did hope for despite all the dark auras coming from you but now..."

Annie shook her head, "I can't condone you for murder completely, I've killed people before as well, though only a few in my lifetime. But I respect the life I've taken. You instead brush it off as 'most of them were scum'."

She bit her lip briefly before taking a deep breath, bowing slightly and turning to leave, "Good bye, Shane."

She hears her farewell and rouses from his depressed stupor. He stands and spins around, his arms twisting and contorting once again. This time they increase in density and strength, albeit at it's minimum. He bounds on the glass, causing even more of a shudder than before. "Annie no, don't leave me please! Let me out of here! I have to get out! Annie! Anniiiiiiie!!"

Annie instead ignored Shane's desperate pleas, maybe if she was an impressionable 17 year old again she would have turned around, instead she continued a steady pace away from the cell and down the corridor. Once past the first door, Annie sprinted the rest of the corridor until she got to where Gidget waited.

Annie wiped tears from her eyes and took a deep breath and forced a smile at the waiting Gidget, "That went better than it could have."

Gidget maintains her downward gaze and places her hand on the panel by the last door. There is a distinct hiss coming from Shane's cell, which is soon followed by a silencing of his manic cries.

Gidget takes a moment to collect her thoughts and looks back up at Annie. "I'm sorry Annie. I have to keep him like this. He wont stop otherwise. You must have so many questions."

Annie nodded, "I do, but my most important ones were answered by Shane."

Taking a deep breath she spoke up, "I do have some questions about your death, though, Gidget. You can't hide the fact that you died any longer. I thought maybe I had thought wrong and you were alive all this time, but Shane confirmed my suspicions that you should in fact be dead. Will you explain to me about the machine and you and how much humanity do you feel?"

Tansy looked between Theonis and Ako. She unwrapped herself from Ako and paused for a moment. 'This is awkward...' "Theonis... This is Ako. Ako, Theonis.... He's a-friend.... Of a.... friend..." She looked confused as she spoke the words. Her brow knitted together as she looked between the two once more. Her heart began to race as she felt tension build up inside of her. "No. No no no no, not now-" She shut her eyes and placed her palms against her temples.

Angel gasped as her eyes shot open. Warm and bright. She stood straight, shoulders back, head high, her wings ruffled out before settling back down. She blinked and looked around the room in slight confusion. She looked to Ako and paused for a second before moving on. When her eyes caught site of Theonis. "Where are we?"
