Fenris took a second to look down at Trinity before she wrapped her arms around the girl. "I know. I know." she hummed. "I was scared too."

Rydia looked up at Fenris and asked, "I don't understand. I saw his past. He devoured you. How are you here?"

The wolf looked to Rydia and said, "You aren't wrong. I was devoured and dead. He spat me out earlier today just to ******** with Eclipse."

Trinity let go of her after she assured her. Then she looked to Rydia as she posed the question that was weighing on her. She answered… this did concern her but she was herself, as she was in the Realm of the Dead right?

Then Theonis pushed that side of it. Grr… Theo why ruin a good thing can’t have anything nice. she glared at him for asking but sighed to herself and rubbed bridge of her nose. “I REALLY hate to say this but he does have a point.”

Alec watched and studied Kerana as she read through the messages. She reacted about how he thought she would to the messages. He didn't know the specific contents of them since his power to foresee possible futures didn't extend that far, but he did know that one of them was about Kerana's mom.

Then she gave him that look. He thought his heart mind melt at the sheer weight of that look. He swallowed hard and glanced away for a moment as he considered his options. The temptation to look into the future and see the best options were great, but he was reaching a point where it was going to become difficult to keep his mind in the present.

After a few seconds he bit his bottom lip and nodded his head confidently, "It can wait a bit. I don't know the specifics of those messages, but I'm guessing by your reaction that one of them is about your mom. I can't put it off for too long, though. If you wanna see your mom first, I'll be right beside you. Or I could meet you later after you talk to the lady in the infirmary first."

Fenris' shoulders rose and fell with her sigh. There were no good answers for their questions, so she'd go with what she knew best. Blunt honesty.

"I...you're right. I'm not the same as I was, but you can trust me as far as you trusted Freya and Okami. I'm an amalgam of their souls that is both of them yet neither of them. I have their memories and feelings, but I'm a being all of my own. You can call me Fenris. And yes, I do have my soul. I vaguely remember talking to Trinity in the underworld, but it feels like a dream I'd forgotten."

"I'm made of the same biomass that, ugh...Legio is made of, but I don't think I need it the same way he does. Not yet at least, and not at all if I can help it. We scrapped just a little bit ago, and he got me pretty good, but I seem to've healed without the same sort of hunger that Shane had back in the day."

"As pressing as that all is, it isn't the most important thing right now. I came in after what looked like a pretty heavy conversation. Would someone care to fill me in?"

Rydia nodded and took the time to go over everything that she'd just explained a while ago.

Fenris' ears slumped more and more as she was told the cosmically horrible ******** me..." she finally muttered after a long pause. As a girl, Freya had always wanted to be the heroine of a story where she and a team of ragtag friends and adventurers left on a quest to save the world. The irony was not lost on Fenris.

She, however, understood that her role was no longer that of a mother trying to keep her children sheltered from danger. She had to prepare them for the dangers to come. Fenris sighed heavily and clapped her furry cheeks with the pads of her hands. She shook herself off and regained Freya's outward bravado.

"Right! Welp...you kids had best get a good nights rest. Because starting tomorrow I'm gonna whip every last one of you into shape. I don't care if you've got boon or whatever. Most of you are green as grass. Trinity, Rydia, you two've got the most combat experience training so you'll be my juniors. I'm counting on you to assist me in getting them ready while you receive additional training from me."

Rydia's lynx ears peeked and a broad grin stretched across her face. "Truly?! Absolutely! I've always wanted to train under you!"

"Don't get too excited, Riddles. Freya may've been your one and favorite aunt, but Trinity can tell you that what's to come is going to strain more than your body."

Gidget couldn't help but worry about what the gifted ones would be going through. From what Trinity had told her about Freya's training it made basic training sound like a froyo run. She looked down at the still clinging Theresa and sighed. Whatever Fenris had in store, it couldn't be worse than what Daedalus had subjected that child to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leo narrowed his eyes slightly at Cassandra and said, "We know who you are, and your brother too. We got really acquainted with you two, and Shane Morris, since the day we were born. You might have these kids fooled with your mama bear bullshit, but I know what you really are."
Dawn grasped her brother's forearm and squeezed. "Leo, that isn't fair." she pleaded. She's nothing like what Mom and Gidget told us. She's a different person. You think all these kids would trust the monster from our stories?"
"Dawn, you weren't-"
The youngest of Crystalion's biological kids stepped around her brother and up to Cassandra. Dawn took Cassandra's hand and meekly chirped. "I'm Dawn. Thank you for helping to protecting us today."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heather and Deora didn't utter a word as Liv inspected herself. When Liv made her request, Heather stood up and led the distraught woman gingerly toward the doors. Deora read the room and stepped forward to hold the door open for them. She gasped when she opened the door to a young woman who was standing just clear the swing.

"Oy! Excuse me." she said apologetically.

The young woman tilted her head and looked past Deora. Her eyebrows raised and she said, "Oh? You're coming out? I'll change back then."

Just like the day before at the mall, Damien casually shifted her sex from female to male as though he were changing his wardrobe.

"Damien?! You could've just knocked."

"I didn't want to interrupt. Since it was quiet I thought it'd be a good time to approach and finish up."

"Finish what up?" she asked incredulously.

"Handing out boons. She's the last one. The aspect of light."

Heather looked from Liv to Damien. "Seriously? Now?" she huffed. "Can't you see that she needs a moment?"

"A moment to what?"

"Ay Dios Mio." Deora sighed. "Damien, Liv just found out something that's probably gonna mess with her head for a while. Can't it wait?"

"Is she....my daughter from a different timeline? I've had my suspicions after the fight. How much do you know of what happened to her before we found her? You're a part of her." Crystalion asked. It was something she needed to know. She wasn't sure if it changed anything for her. Ravan had always been one of her kids. Dawn would be overjoyed if she were.

She glanced over the little Ravan and back at the woman in front of her.

The young woman put her the palms of her hands over Ravan's ears and tersely replied, "I know nothing about timelines. As her trust, I'm privy to memories of her attachments and betrayals. That's it. If you're her mother, then you are at the top of the latter group. This one cannot know that."

"Before I let her go, the only reason I'm helping you and telling you anything after knowing who you are is because...despite her self loathing and hatred for you...she doesn't want to be alone anymore."

The young woman took her hands off of Ravan's ears.

The little Ravan looked up at the young woman and asked, "E. Rah-Vahn. E. Stahay?"

"I'm afraid not. This lady is going to help take the darkness away. You need to go with her to the big black swirly in the center. Alright? Listen to what she says, just like you learned to listen to Reyhan, Okay?"

Ravan wrung her long, unkempt hair in her hands anxiously. After a few seconds she nodded while her eyes stayed close to the ground.

The young woman looked back to Crystalio and said, "One last thing. If you truly wish to know what happened to her before Theonis found her there are memory rifts all over the city that will show you her past in no particular order. Good luck, and don't let the little one know who you are until it's done."

In a blink the woman was gone. All that was left was Ravan and Crystalion.

The little Ravan shuffled nervously over to Crystalion. She trembled uncontrollably with fear and apprehension just like she did the first day with her new family. She didn't take her eyes off of Crystalion all the while. She was prepared to fight or fly.

Kerana bit her lip too, she didn't want to keep Alec from something that seemed really important. She couldn't help but felt the news about her mom was, heavy, so much so that it made her cause him to give pause. Would it be too much for her to see how I look like now AND a boyfriend? "I... I'm not sure if you coming with me would be good for my mom. I still don't like the idea of sending you off without my blessing, causing you to have to come back to me." She picked up her phone. "As much as I want to run to my mom and welcome her to Valhalla... I don't think I can do that yet... last I remembered, we were both freaking out about my ears on my head and tale. She did her best to remain calm thinking that the doctor would prescribe something to treat it, I was under that same notion too... but... it's something that can't be fixed. Neither, this" she gestured, referring to herself. "I'm... so worried about how will she take this... heck, my dad didn't get the chance to see me as a fox-girl, who knows how he'd take it. If anything, right now... she has been through a lot no thanks to Daedalus, if anything she needs to rest and recover before she takes another shock. I'm... sorry kinda babbling on here." she rubbed her head cat_sweatdrop With that she sent a response about her mom.

Resident In-processing ~ ATTN: Kerana Carter. A new arrival and freed Daedalus prisoner has submitted the name [Raina Carter]. Records indicate a match to the name you submitted as your biological mother. She has not been informed of your status as a resident as of yet per Valhalla's confidentiality and resident safety protocols, but has made inquiries regarding your status as a resident. Please contact us at your earliest convenience regarding the matter.

Please let her know I am alive and well and here in Valhalla. I will visit her first chance I get once I have her room number. And please let her know I love her and I will see her soon and... a lot has happened since I last saw her. She needs to get herself situated, rest and recover.

I hope that helps. With that, she felt more at ease, at least giving her mom some answers. She knew how overwhelming she can be at times.

"But this other lady... she seems to be aware of me, she asked about "the fox girl who brings life". She seems to know about my boon, perhaps she may know something about the blessing. I'd be more at ease if we were to go to her together. She may be able to help me grant the blessing and you could be on your way."

She knew Alec only said it wasn't pressing to give her some time to her but she couldn't help but feel it was more pressing than he made it seem. She wanted to address this as quick as possible, "Are you able to do a portal to the Medical Department? That's where this lady is."

Trinity nodded as she mentioned meeting in the underworld. She frowned a little when she revealed that Theo’s question on whether they could trust her was valid. Yet despite the possibility that she might end up feeding like Legio it did not dissuade her from trusting her teacher like she would an older sister.

As Freya caught up she had a similar reaction to the news. She smirked at the idea, training with her sensei once again. She knew that she needed to be on the next level for the next fight and Freya- or Fenris more like, would be a big help. As Fenris made reference to Freya’s training she responded, “Yeah, that’s no joke. Outside of training we know she’s fun. But inside, she means business. I’m looking forward to it.” She said the last part while clasping her hand on her fist.

Originally she was going to push herself on the level of gravity she could take but Fenris probably had way better ideas than that. Yet it wouldn’t hurt to try whenever she had time.

Theo sighed after hearing the answer and her saying she'd train them. He pinched the bridge of his nose a bit, feeling a headache rising. So much s**t has happened in the last few days. Hearing Trinity say that she really hated agreeing with him just......hurt. What the hell did he do to make her suddenly borderline hate him? She didn't even bother talking to him about it.

"Yeah....sure." He just responded to Freya.

"Gidget, Could you take her to the cafeteria if it's up and running again? Please? I need..."He swallowed." I need to get some fresh air and clear my head. "

He waited a little before heading out. Walking through the ruined corridors, seeing bloodstains, bullet holes, scorch marks and the likes wasn't easy. For him it was all signs of how he failed to protect the people here. He knew he couldn't have done everything himself. But there had to have been something.

Passing one of their guards who seemed to have a hard time. Most likely lost someone close. Theo just put his hand on their shoulder and nodded. Thanking them for their hard work. Telling them to take some time off if they needed it. Afterwards he exited Valhalla and just flew off at high speed.

Crystalion nodded at Reyhan if that was her name. "Thank you. I will."
Then she was one after Crystalion blinked her eyes. Taking a deep breath she looked down at the terrified small girl. She gave her a soft warm smile and crouched down to her height. The girl was afraid of the dark so....Crystalion let herself glow softly with a warm light and extended her hand for Ravan.

" Let me help you. Please. I am going to make the bad darkness go away."

There was a small shift in her colors when Leo responded but it quickly went back to normal. It made it hard for her not to be honest when she wore her heart on her..well..wore her emotions on her hair and eyes.
She smiled Dawn.

"Anything for these kids. They should never be involved in any form of conflict." She responded before turned her attention back to Leo more serious this time.

"You mean the monster I became a part of? The one that used me to maintain itself? The one that kept me in eternal sleep while feeding off of my power? The one that would have kept me imprisoned had it not been defeated in this world? That one? Tell me if you were part of something against your will that killed billions in a different world, should you be punished for that in this? You're not being fair Leo."

She had crossed her arms during this."I will not pretend to to fully understand or know what you've all been through. But these kids look up to you. If you start out hating me for the wrong reasons they will think it's okay because you do it. It's not the kind of things a child should even think about."

Liv thanked Heather and took some comfort in her guiding her away. But there was a small obstacle. Another woman who....quickly turned into a man?! What the....wait..this was Damian but he looked a lot older this time around.

"Damian..can it...wait a bit? I just...found out I had my head blown off. I need some time. I'm sure whatever it is you are handing out is still there later okay?"

Gidget nodded and confirmed, "Sure thing. After what happened to my sink I'm sure she'd love a burger or two."

She watched Theonis leave out of the corner of her eye with a great deal of concern. She could see that the weight of everything that'd happened over the last few days was about to completely overwhelm him. She made a mental note to schedule a few sessions with the on site therapists for everyone, especially him.

She shifted her chin down and whispered to Theresa, "Howabout we get something to eat?"

Fenris was confident that these kids could handle the madness she had planned for them. Then she saw the dejected and tired look in Theonis' eyes and posture. She watched him leave and then turned her attention back to Trinity.

"Have I missed something over the last few days? Shouldn't you be rushing after him to see if he's okay?" she asked

"I think they-"

Fenris gave her niece the side-eye and interjected, "Rydia, sweetie, I love you and how observative you are, and I'm sure what you have to say is close to correct, but you have the worst habit of blurting out whatever's on your mind at the worst possible time."

Rydia squeezed her lips together as her cheeks took a reddish hue. She scrunched down into her chair, embarrassed that Fenris had said close to the same thing her mother had once said.

The wolf turned her attention, once more, back to Trinity and asked with all the concern of a mother, "Trin...did something happen while I was dead?"

Alec lifted his head confidently and said, "Absolutely. So long as I have Crosis' scythe I can take us anywhere I've already been. Let's go."

Alec held his right arm out and to the side. An ethereal fire spread from his hand and took the shape of the death scythe. With a deft swing that he was careful not to do too closely to anyone he sliced open a tear that led directly to the room that belonged to Lokelonni.

He dismissed the scythe and gave Kerana an "after you" gesture. Once she was safely across he hopped through. The tear closed immediately after he crossed over.

Lokelonni Eleilya Soichi, like her daughter, was the picture of Elven regality. Her hair was a radiant blonde that draped over both of her shoulders and reached down to her waist. She minimal signs of aging a served only to add a sense of dignity and eminence to her presence in spite of being in a hospital gown. Her eyes were wrapped and covered by clean, white gauze.

Gracefully, she turned her head in the general direction of the two newcomers that had stepped into the room.

"Hello there. You must be the one's in possession of the boons of life and death." she assessed with the lightest of a smile brightening her features.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I...suppose. I'd prefer to do it now, though. It wont take long."
Heather shot a dangerous glare at Damien, accompanied by a stream of smoke that leaked from the corners of her mouth, and literally hissed, "She said no! We have five months to get ready! You can wait a day or two!"
The boy almost jumped with shock at the tone in Heather's voice. He appeared taken aback and stammered, "Y-you don't have to y-yell at me. Th-this has to be done for everything to be ready."
Deora, who chose to adopt a more reasonable tone, said, "We know, Damien. And we know you feel a compulsion to do it. This might be hard for you to understand, but moments like what Liv experienced can be very traumatic. She needs time to process her own feelings before she's given a boon. Please...just give her some time. We'll get you when she's ready, okay?"
Damien sighed, "I'll...I'll wait. Mom tells me not to be selfish. This is one of those times where I should take her words to heart and act on them."
He looked to Liv and said, "I'm sorry, and I'm glad your head is back together."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Leo turned red with anger. He opened his mouth to shout but was cut off by Dawn flicking him on the center of his forehead with her middle finger. He hissed and rubbed his forehead. Dawn put her hands on her hips and sternly said, "No! Not here, and not now. Mom told us, before we crossed over, that we have to remember that people here aren't the people there. Now go over there with the others and cool off, or I'll tell Mom how much of a jerk you've been while she's busy trying to save Ravan."

The kids that had been around Leo and Dawn snickered and whispered, "Leo got in trouble."

"Dawn is like a little Miss Liv."

Leo glared indignantly at his sister and stormed away with a huff. Dawn sighed and turned back toward Cassandra.

"I'm so sorry. I know it's not an excuse, but what he feels and does comes from a place of love and concern. Mom told me that even before Leo was old enough to fight, he'd begun to kill any emotions he didn't think were necessary for our survival. That leaves a lot of fear and even more anger."

Theresa didn't say a word. She felt a smile stretch across her face. It was a sensation that was still mostly foreign to her, but she could learn to get used to it. She rubbed her eyes and chirped, "I'd like that a lot."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ravan swallowed hard and inched her way closer to stranger. Reyhan had told her to trust the new woman, and so the little girl would do her best to heed the words of the young woman.
Her eyes lit up at the sight of the gentle glow that emitted from the stranger. It brought a sense of calm that caused her shoulders to drop a bit. With one last shuffle of her feet, she took Crystalion's hand and squeezed as tightly as she could.
The bunker twisted and gave way to the landscape of the city directly above it. They stood at the outskirts of the sprawling ex-metropolis. Ravan hid her eyes away and pointed toward the swirling tower of dark malaise that could be seen clearly in the center of the city.
Sure enough, as Reyhan had said, there were spacial anomalies that dotted the city haphazardly. They looked like standing pools of rippling water that showed warped snippets of Ravan's past.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 01, 2021 11:24 am
Crystalion's smile grew as the small girl reached out grabbed her hand. She kept her glow constantly now. Ravan seemed to enjoy it. The environment changed and become something more familiar to her. She saw the swirling tower of darkness. At least it was easy to spot.
"Do you...want me to carry you? It can be a long walk."
Theonis flew away from Valhalla...away from the remains of the battle. Faster. Away from the city. Even Faster. Over the long stretches of land. Much much Faster. It wasn't long before it was just the ocean below him and fast skies around him. Faster until you can't go any faster.. He didn't know how fast he was going. He vaguely recalled seeing an airplane but he passed it in the blink of an eye. Theo came to a deadstop and looked around. He had no idea where he was. It didn't matter. All he knew was that he was far away from anything living. Far away from any civilization.
His thoughts went back to everything that had happened since he found Valhalla thanks to Tansie. Introductions were a bit odd. They all knew each other and he was the odd one out. At least he was thanked for bringing her there. Started talking to Trinity and opening up to her. Attempting to apprehend Shane. Got pretty close if it weren't for Annie. Getting together with Trinity after that.The whole Matron thing happened. First time Trinity got attacked by a controlled Freya. The Aiden twins.....Legion.....Trinity losing her powers that idiot Chuck. Her...Succubus form....failing to save Larry.
s**t there was just so much that happened already.
Theo felt it all bubbling up. Anxiety of his position, frustration and anger due to Trinity breaking up with him without even attempting to talk to him, the helplessness he feels for not being able to protect his people, the fear of what is to come....everything.
The young head of Valhalla was trembling as he floated in the clouds. He took in a deep breath of air and just....let it all out. A primal scream into the empty around him. He screamed until the air had left his lungs before taking in another deep breath. Now, it wasn't just his feelings he let out. He recalled every instance where he could not display his full power because people would die. It was the nature of his power. Just.a destructive force of nature. His power filled up from within and kept increasing until he could no longer hold it in. His eyes seemed to be completely ablaze with golden smoke.
A second primal scream accompanied by a unworldly blast of pressure.
Out of breath, he fell down. Panting as he did. He couldn't see any clouds. Just the water rapidly approaching in his 30 second free fall. Theo hit the water but negated the impact. He wasn't sure of how deep he was. But even here...he couldn't feel anything in the water. It was....sort of soothing. His oxygen did not last that long however. Plus he did not want to stare at the deep abyss for too long. It was.....unnerving. A deep rooted human fear. Quickly making his way up, he let himself drift in the water for a while as he took a deep breathe.
That......felt good.
"Have I missed something over the last few days? Shouldn't you be rushing after him to see if he's okay?" she asked
"I think they-"
When Theonis left she didn't think it was in part of her choice of words. She hated the situation that Theonis' question placed her in, not trusting her sensei and ruining her reunion with her, she wasn't sure if she'd see her again even though she knew she was alive. Though, the break up was a sharp break, it left them both with a mess of emotions. She sighed to herself.
Then Fenris addressed her with her question. As she was addressing Rydia to not answer for her she couldn't help but think about her other sensei and what he thought of him …
flashback
"As urgent as things are, they are not dire. Anyway let us..."
He sniffs the air curiously. He looks down at Trinity and give off only the slightest hint of a smile. "Well well, and here I thought you were going to choose solitude like Freya. I am pleased to see that is not the case."
Perhaps she really was doomed to live single. After a long line of relationships gone wrong one way or another, Theonis was number 30 a number she thought for certain was a sign that he would be the one for her since the numerology had played some role in her life. Yet sadly it didn't pan out that way.
She was hoping to have a moment to explain her concerns to him before they break up, have a mutual understanding. Yet seeing her, calling him "daddy" changed that. To her it was proof. Proof that no longer how much she delayed the inevitable with Theo, and in that timeline even had a son with him... he still wanted her. After seeing this proof she couldn't continue with their relationship, even though she loves him that moment told her she needed to let him go and be with the one he really should be with.
The wolf turned her attention, once more, back to Trinity and asked with all the concern of a mother, "Trin...did something happen while I was dead?"
"Yes." The flashback of Teshou's smile surfaced once more, knowing it would probably disappoint her she told the truth, she sighed sharply, " I broke up with him. Look… I don't want to talk about the details now. I want to talk to him first about it, alright? … and nooo matchmaking stuff by pairing me with him for training." she shook her head, "After all that happened yesterday and today, I need some time and a drink. I'll be sure to be ready to go early in the morning s**t-faced or not." with that she left the lab and started heading toward the bar.
She was surrounded by destruction, ruin and blood. Trinity has saved the world before but handling the aftermath, the lives lost never gets easier.
"Damian....it's been a long day. Tomorrow okay?" Liv said to Damian before he responded.
She couldn't help but chuckle at this accidental dark humor from him and couldn't help but laugh out loud. It was a weird combination of emotions.
"Yeah...I need to keep my head in the game......"
Cassandra looked at what happened. It seemed Dawn had a good head on her shoulders. From what the kids said, she takes after her mother. Personally she didn't know Liv that well...or..at all really. But even if she did, the one from the future would be completely different.
"He's a survivor.....Poor boy. He's going to have a tough time adjusting."
Gidget smiled warmly and pat Theresa's head. When Trinity started to talk about Theonis Gidget kept an ear open while she gave her new "teenaged" daughter some much needed physical affection. When Trinity took her leave Gidget quickly said to Theresa, "Sweetie, this nice man is Ako and he's my boyfriend. He's gonna take you to get some cheeseburgers at the cafeteria. Okay?"
Ako's eyes went wide and started to dart between Gidget and Theresa. "Whoa whoa! Hey now, where're you going?"
Gidget stood up and turned on her toes to face Ako. "My big sister's hurting, and I'm gonna go make sure she's not drinking alone. Don't worry, I'll stick to virgin drinks...so to speak."
She grasped Ako and Theresa's hands and put them together. "Just be kind to her. She seems to respond very well to that. Just remember that she's a three year old in a teenagers body. There are a lot of things that are completely new to her."
She pat the top of Theresa's head once more and requested, "Listen to Ako the same way you'd listen to me or your big brother. I'll meet with you guys later."
With that she ran off after Trinity.
Ako fruitlessly reached out to Gidget as she ran off and said,"But, wait, I'm not...good with kids."
He dropped his hand back to his side and looked down at Theresa with an awkward smile. "Heeeey there."
Gidget quickly got Trinity in her sights and called out, "Hey! *huff* Wait up! *puff* I'm a shut in *gasp* with no stamina!"
Gidget skid to a halt by Trinity, put her hands on her knees, and panted heavily while she caught her breath. It also served as a moment for her to collect her thoughts and try to push back what she saw around her for the time. She huffed, "I...just thought...ugh...that you'd like...oof...some company. Hahu...cuz...drinking alone...hah...sucks y'know?"
Fenris just listened and watched as Trinity said her piece then left. With a sigh she shook her head and looked around at who was left. "Oi, what happened to the emo kid and the kitsune girl?"
"You mean Alec and Kerana? They left just a little bit ago. I heard them talking about going to the infirmary to speak with someone."
"Ah. Speaking of which, we should see how your grandmother is doing. No doubt she's gonna want to know what's been happening the last fifteen years. But let's walk, though. I'd like it if you talked me through what's happened since yesterday afternoon."
Dawn sighed and slumped her shoulders, "We all are. Most of us couldn't sleep on top of our beds, if we slept at all. The slightest strange noise puts us in fight or flight. The kids couldn't sleep without either myself, Leo, Mom, or Ravan in close proximity. Not to mention all the nightmares. We just...we aren't used to not being in danger all the time. The battle...it was the first time we've fought people in a very long time. We were more in our element fighting for our lives today than we were being fed and cleaned yesterday."
She made sure her back was turned to the children and proceeded to wring her hands together roughly and with no small amount of trembling. "Leo is the head, Ravan the fists, and I'm the heart. That's what the older kids say. We have to be strong for them...but none of us are okay. We don't know what to do with peace. We aren't...we can't...we...we."
She dropped her head and shut her eyes tightly. A few tears fell onto her nervous hands. She was trying, and failing, to keep the trembling at just hands as the tension began to work it's way to the rest of her body. She was on the verge of falling apart.
Leo had been watching his little sister and listened in with his superior hearing. He audibly scoffed and quickly made his way out of the infirmary while he told some staff to look after his found family. He couldn't do it. He couldn't just watch his sister lose it. It...disgusted him.
He followed the directions the guide had given him and the others and trudged to the exit without a thought of the carnage around him. His knuckles were white as he stood in the elevator alone. His shadow began to writhe in response to his mood.
The elevator dinged and he hurried out of the lobby. He wouldn't be able to contain his emotions much longer. The moment he stepped foot outside he used the power he inherited from his father to fly up to the roof of the main building, not too far from what was left of Liv's old head.
He knew his control over air pressure would level what was around him, so he did what he always did and focused his frustrations into his shadow. It responded by thrashing and striking out at nothing in particular as though it had a mind of it's own. He let out a furious scream that turned his shadow into a mass of rage fueled tendrils.
His screaming only stopped when he thought he might taste blood in his throat. His shadow reigned itself back in and he fell to his knees in exhaustion. He didn't feel any sort of catharsis. All he felt was tired and angry. Then, despite his earlier disgust at Dawn, he began to sob uncontrollably.
"Damnit..." he wheezed. "God damnit."
Damien tilted his head slightly in response to Liv's laughter. Then his eyebrows shot up when he realized aloud, "Oh! That's gallows humor. I've read about that."
"Anyway. I'll come see you tomorrow morning then, as you've asked. I hope you feel better."
Heather and Deora thanked Damien. They made their way back to Liv's room with Heather supporting her and Deora running as much visual interference as she could to keep Liv from seeing what had become of Valhalla's interior.
After what seemed like forever they finally made it to the dorm and helped Liv onto the soft mattress of her bed.
"Is there anything you need?" Heather asked, "Whatever it is we'll get it, or maybe we can do something to make you feel better. Just ask, and we'll-"
"Heather." Deora interjected, "Give the girl a second to talk."
Theresa looked disappointed as Gidget explained that she was going to be left with Ako. But she perked up as soon as her head received more pats. She liked Gidget a lot, and so she'd follow her directions.
She looked up at Ako flatly and gave little reaction to his awkward introduction. She did, however, make a face when her stomach churned and gurgled.
"I want to eat now." she declared.
Little Ravan seemed to have her head on a swivel. Her eyes searched everything they could see before she finally looked up to, nodded, and answered Crystalion.
"Kiroo. Kalfol." she whispered frightfully. She then proceeded to make quiet noises that sounded approximately like the bio beasts that plagued their world.
"Awp." she requested.
Alec held his right arm out and to the side. An ethereal fire spread from his hand and took the shape of the death scythe. With a deft swing that he was careful not to do too closely to anyone he sliced open a tear that led directly to the room that belonged to Lokelonni.
He dismissed the scythe and gave Kerana an "after you" gesture. Once she was safely across he hopped through. The tear closed immediately after he crossed over.
Lokelonni Eleilya Soichi, like her daughter, was the picture of Elven regality. Her hair was a radiant blonde that draped over both of her shoulders and reached down to her waist. She minimal signs of aging a served only to add a sense of dignity and eminence to her presence in spite of being in a hospital gown. Her eyes were wrapped and covered by clean, white gauze.
Gracefully, she turned her head in the general direction of the two newcomers that had stepped into the room.
"Hello there. You must be the one's in possession of the boons of life and death." she assessed with the lightest of a smile brightening her features.
Kerana blushed at his gesture then cooed "Such a gentleman." They entered the room and saw the lady she noticed that her ears looked like Trinity's ears. With the woman's eyes with covered with white cause Kerana was about to announce their presence but she didn't seem to have any trouble detecting them. She carried herself with such grace that she couldn't help but bow to her a little and responded, "Yes, I received a message saying that you wanted to see 'the fox girl who brings life', well I am 'she' I mean... that'd be me. Ah heh, heh…" Real nice cat_sweatdrop
As much as she wanted to cut to the chase and see if she could help her figure out how she could give Alec her proper blessing, she wanted to get a better sense if she could. She knew about her but how much? She was also resisting the temptation of waving her hand in front of her face and ask how she was seeing them but that would be down right rude. "How can I help?" she asked for starters.
