Alec swallowed hard at being called "Child of Death." It was a moniker that would take some getting used to.

Alec's grip nervously tightened on the deathscythe as he returned the slight bow with one of his own. "Um, Alec is fine. I, uh, heard others refer to you as Legio, so I hope you don't mind if I call you that. I'd like to make something clear from the top. All I want to do is talk. Just...talk."

Alec released the deathscythe. It remained suspended in midair and became engulfed in a gentle, ethereal blue flame. A moment later the flame shrank and disappeared along with the scythe.

"There're a few things I'd like to bring up, But, um, if I could ask...like, I heard you have a bunch of powers the way Damien does...probably more. So that means you can read my mind. Um..."

Alec took a deep breath and let it out slowly in an attempt to calm his anxiety. He didn't like talking so much in a potentially confrontational situation.

"You called me child of death. So I'd just like to know if you're genuinely interested in what I have to say, or if you already know from reading my thoughts and are just humoring me?"

Heather blushed and grabbed an exfoliating loofah from the rack as Liv lowered herself into the bath. The temptation to disrobe and climb in with the bombshell was strong. Very strong. She had to mentally repeat to herself that Liv was still most likely in shock and trying to process that fact that she was actually dead for a bit. No sexy times. At least...not unless Liv wanted it, then sexy times were a go.

Heather soaked the loofah in the bathwater, put a generous amount of body wash on it, and then worked it into a lather. She decided to start with Liv's jawline and neck. Thankfully the blood came off with only a modest amount of effort.

"How's this? Not too hard? I'd hate to ruin perfection."

Chariot gasped and excitedly whispered, "You got a son?! Like Annie Bellie? Howzat work? Did the doctors give you one? C'mon. Tell meeeee."

Dawn asked, "Is she actually insane?"

Damien studied Chariot closely and assessed her. "Yes...but she's also been subjected to accelerated aging, and to a greater degree than Theresa. Between it and the candy, it's caused her to be like...this. It's also killing her."

"Seriously?"

Chariot looked down at Damien and scoffed, "Pffft! Heh, that's a funny sound. Pffft! Pffftftftftftflle!"

Damien ignored Chariot and looked back over to Cassandra. "You mentioned a Doctor Leonard. Did you mean Leonard Acula? He's actually here too."

Kerana observed Alec, she covered a snicker as it took a minute for Alec to come to his senses to answer. As he spoke to her she blushed as he complimented her, she could tell he really wanted to stay.

Then he summoned his deathscythe her ears flattened at the loud clangings as he dropped it. Although he told her not to worry about him, she couldn't help but worry with the sudden clumsiness. She hoped he would return soon.

After he went through the portal Lokelonni, her new teacher spoke…

Lokelonni finally let herself laugh out loud. "Ahahaha! Oh dear! I'm so sorry. It's so sweet how much that boy adores you. I must say you have quite the effect on him."

Kerana blushed a little at the matter that she had that effect on Alec cat_sweatdrop "I hope I didn't break him by doing all of that. Um… this may be a silly question. When I first gave him the breath of life … did that only partially brought his soul to the mortal realm and what I did now completed the process by bringing the rest of his soul to him?" this started to lead her to think about Damien. "If that's the case … could I apply this to someone who was born without a soul to begin with?"

Lokelonni 's brow raised and she nodded in approval. "That is a very good question, dear. No, you brought his whole soul all the way through. What you did not do was get Crosis' permission. It was not your fault, of course. Life and death work in tandem, you see. If a soul is to be returned to it's body, then it must be willed by life and allowed by death. Since Alec is vastly more agreeable than Crosis ever was, then I do not think you will have such difficulties in the future. What you did just now was free his soul from the shackles that still bound him to the realm of the dead. Now he is free to roam around as he chooses, so long as he does not shirk his duties."

"In regards to gifting a soul to one born without one, that is well within your ability once I show you how. It requires drawing from beyond the well of souls. You probably saw it when you were in the realm of death. You see the reaper, that is to say Alec, holds dominion over the souls within the well. There is a point where the soul spiral down to their final destination, beyond his influence. The collective soul. It is from there that a new soul is born...or made."

"Creating a new soul is not a simple, or easy, process. Normally I would be reluctant to teach something so laborious to someone so young, but you have shown great skill and aptitude. Plus you would not have asked were it not for a noble reason. So I will show you how."

"Although I must ask. It is not often that someone is born without a soul. I dare say it almost never happens. So it begs the question. To whom are you wanting to give a soul?"

After a moment to recover she looked at her next shot. Just thinking about what that represented sadden her she remembered the first time she saw him…

Flashback

A young Trinity was being held captive by Leviathan and his goons. Lev, for short, was the first meta-human she met and had promised that he could help her learn to use her power. She had yet to embrace the darkness that is called the Shadow Realm and when Lev was able to “save” her from that realm she believed his promise. Little did she know he was using radiated concentrated meteor substances derived from dead meta-humans and Trinity may have been the next victim.

Trinity continued to struggle she didn't have the combat prowess as she does today. Then she saw him, a tall man in a dark duster with short raven hair. He was of Asian decent. He carried himself with grace, calm, discipline and experience.

Teshoumaru sighs and looks over at Trinity with a warm smile. His smile fades quickly though when the three cranked up meta-humans decide that they can just walk away. With little effort he leaps over them and stands before them on the path they were walking.

He lines himself up with them and brushes aside some stray hair that had blocked his pointed ears. He hopes Trinity can see this, and that maybe this will lead to some trust. He doesn't know how well he can teach her, but he isn't about to allow her to fall into the hands of these fiends.

Teshoumaru's irises change from brown to gold, and his shadow seems to dance underneath him. It ebbs and flows like a tide, wanting to be released. Calmly, he states, "If you feel that you have the upper hand gentleman, I regret to inform you that is a foolish notion. What you possess is not true power, and it will abandon you."

“Teshoumaru …” his name meant so much to her. She wouldn’t been able to get out of Lev’s grasp, if it weren't for him, who knows what may have happened. That day she learned so much about her powers and much more with Freya. She couldn’t help but think how level-headed he was, she hoped she could do him proud. Hell, she hoped some of his qualities rubbed off on her.

Part of her could almost hear him scolding her with “Kage-chan!” It seemed to happen more often when she was with Freya. She smirked at that thought. Other flashbacks came to her training with him. Including his last lesson regarding Genkido Tengoku. A lesson she’d have to finish on her own. He and Freya helped mold her to become the protector of Valhalla. The Valkyrie of Security she mused looking at her badge for a moment that featured a Valkyrie riding a pegasus with her sword raised..

She remembered seeing him in the realm of death and how he couldn’t even detect her there. This made her heart sink but there was something she could do about it. “To Teshoumaru of the Soichi clan. One of the best senseis I’ve met. The least I can do is make you whole once more one way or another. That’s a promise.” she couldn’t stand the thought of him spending the rest of his afterlife like this, yet could she bring her self to do what needs to be done when the time comes to kill Eclipse. Even though She may need to talk to Alec and Freya to help fulfill that promise. With that resolve ah “Ach!” The buzz was really hitting her.

"Legio will do fine, Alec. It is simply a name suggested by Eclipse. I hold no particular sentiment to it." The being responded simply.

The scythe vanished after the flames did. Interesting.

"Ah yes, Damian. Shane's attempt to start over. I should pay him a visit. I do believe he was the one who made you all very weary of me and not him. Despite being of similar origin. It would be a shame if he were to revert to his....previous form. After all, he no longer needs Cassandra nor Alexavier to maintain that form. You'd be wise to keep an eye on him." Legio responded.

"I am aware of what is on the surface of your mind. It constantly leaks out. From everyone. I do prefer the conversation instead of simply...extracting it from your mind as you might have noticed. So to answer your question....Yes."

Liv was honestly enjoying this. A nice hot bath, good looking attendant taking care of her.

"Hmm...yeah that's..quite nice." She responded lazily. Enjoying the bath. However she couldn't resist the soft chuckle at Heather's words.

"When did you become such a flirt?"

She wasn't that far off. After all Damian was not a normal case.

"Later when you're grown up."

She was going to say something else but she heard that Leonard Acula was also here, her colors changed. It was a mixed bag of feelings. She shook her head.

"Maybe Dawn would like to meet him. It's her grandfather after all. Well..not this version but still..."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:07 am
Alec took another deep breath. Crosis had taught him a trick to deal with people who glean off of the surface of one's mind. It didn't always work, but it also served to collect one's own thoughts. Give the psychic a mind worm.

I'm so happy
Aha! Happy go lucky me

"Alright then. So a little from column A and column B. That's cool. The first thing I'd like to bring up is the lack of dead bodies in Valhalla. Specifically, the bodies of those who died protecting this place."

I don't worry!
Worrying don't agree,

"Daedalus has thrown the balance of life and death out of whack. That means Kerana and I would've been free to restore a great many of them."

I feel happy and fine!
AHA!
Living in the sunlight,
loving in the moonlight

"So, in the future, we'd appreciate it if you could refrain from just consuming the dead willy-nilly. A lot of people didn't deserve to die today."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather chuckled and continued to scrub the blood from Liv. "Even before the meteor I was never like this. Then my confidence became inversely proportionate to how animal-like I became. Then I followed your light, and told you about the butterflies I see, and feel. I don't know. You just, sort of...bring it out of me."
Heather began to slow down the pacing of her scrubbing, but not the pressure, as she recalled the first day she saw Liv. She shuffled on her knees to Liv's front and allowed her eyes to wander along with her mind. An uneasy breath passed between her lips. She forced herself to look back up at Liv's eyes.
"Isn't it crazy? I've wanted you so badly, since that day in the auditorium. Before I even knew your name. Now here I am."
While she's at her most vulnerable.
Heather bit her bottom lip and looked away, momentarily, in shame. She fixed her gaze back on Liv with a now all to familiar apologetic look in her eyes.
"I know I apologized yesterday, but I'm so sorry about what I almost did yesterday in the shower. I lost control of myself. If Rydia hadn't been there..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dawn tensed up at the suggestion of meeting her grandfather. "Uhhhh...I may have split up Leo's parents in this universe. I think I really need to apologize to Da-Theonis and Trinity before I go to meet some-whoa waitaminute! Are we just gonna ignore what Damien said about this girl dying?"

Damien looked at Dawn, blinked, and replied, "I read her mind. She's a sadistic psychopath who had a hand in killing hundreds, if not thousands, of people yesterday. All the while laughing. The only reason she's here is because Trinity thinks they can extract information from her. I didn't think it mattered if someone like her died."

Dawn slowly turned her attention to the teenager on a sugar rush that was being held up like a toddler. "But, she's...why hasn't she tried to kill anyone here."

Chariot exclaimed, "Oh oh oh! That's 'cuz Trinity said I wouldn't get candy if I didn't behave. Killing people is, like, super fun, but candy is soooooo much better. I want to kill, but I want candy. Kill. Candy. Kill candy kill candy kill candy."

Her eyes glistened along with her sick smile as she giggled, "Hehehehehe. But I'm out of candy. And Trinity said she'd kill me if I had any fun. I'm happy that you're here Beta. You don't care about killing, and no one can kill you. So whatya say?"

Dawn was aghast at the flagrant disregard for life.

Damien sneered at the display of sociopathy and looked over to his mother.

Cassandra had a soft smile on her face and lowered the girl. She moved her hands from her armpits to the girls and cupped both sides. Her colors became multiple shades darker.

"You're right. I don't care about killing and nobody here can kill me. But if you hurt anyone here....child or adult., I will pop your head like a balloon. I don't care if Trinity thinks you might be of use." Cassandra grip on the girls face tightened. Not to the point of pain but enough to make a point.

"Understood?"

"There is no need to sing a song inside of your mind Alec. I chose not to delve but if I would a song would certainly not slow me down. Please do not look down on me." Legio calmly explained.

"Further more, those bodies have been put to use already. Fenris or...Freya as she was previously known is constructed of those corpses. And you speak of balance. But your actions do not indicate that you care about said balance. Do you think yourself above that balance if you would freely decided who lives and who stays dead, If the enemy was not comprised of clones simply made for this assault but normal soldiers who were just carrying out orders, would you bring them back as well?" Legio asked.

"Good things come to those that wait they say." Liv responded before listening to what she had to say afterwards. She sighed, "I was....underestimating how well I felt. If I had my energy I would have let you."

She paused for a bit as she focused on Heather's eyes.

"How about I give you a chance to show me how you plan to make it up to me? Take it off....and get in here."

"Although I must ask. It is not often that someone is born without a soul. I dare say it almost never happens. So it begs the question. To whom are you wanting to give a soul?"

Kerana nodded. "There is a friend of mine, a boy named Damien. He was born a few weeks ago but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him. He helped so many. He helped fix our, what he called, our source. He saved my friend, Heather, from death using this ability. He helped me connect me with my boon even when I had so much trouble believing that I could do the things he claimed."

" It didn't occur to me, that he didn't have a soul when Alec and I were trying to get rid of all of Daedalous' soul-less troops. I realized I couldn't sense him and got worried. It strange, because he seems to be full of life and curiosity, I didn't even question that when I first met him."

“Um… about the Well of Souls… Alec destroyed it. He wanted to free the souls and unlike Crosis he'd rather ask for their help, instead of demand it. Do you think that would be an issue for helping Damien?”

Chariot blinked a few times and mumbled, "I dunno what a balloon is, but I don't want my head popped. Ugh...fine. Y'know, you were more fun when you didn't talk much."

Damien looked over at Dawn and asked, "You you still care after seeing that?"

Dawn put her right hand to her chest and made a fist as she considered the answer. "There's a girl I know. She'd spent most of her life alone and fighting. When Dad found her she was dangerous, violent, and hated everyone. A lot of us thought she was beyond help. But people like my mom and dad refused give up on her. Today she helped bring down Daedalus."

"So yes. I still care. If we let Chariot die now, then she wont have a chance to do something good later."

Damien scoffed, "Or she'll have a chance to kill more innocent people."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ah, sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. It's just that I'm a very private person...that and you scare the ever loving Hell out of me. The music also helps calm me down. I know it's an obnoxious song, but it's a guilty pleasure. So if all the same, I'll keep Tiny Tim on a loop."
"I saw Fenris' soul yesterday, and I saw her body earlier. From what I could understand, she's still pretty miffed about how she was brought back. I'm not sure how your power works, but couldn't you have just used her own genetic material to recreate her body?"
"And I'm not above the balance, I'm beholden to it. Yesterday I kinda, sorta, accidentally became the Grim Reaper. I do actually have some say in who lives and who dies. See, everyone has a number. That number counts down, and it's when they are supposed to die. If a person meets their end before that number reaches zero, then the leftover time is pooled. That pooled time can be redistributed at my discretion. If a body is intact enough to sustain life I can allow their soul to return, or my girlfriend can plop it right back in."
"And to answer your last question...I don't know. I was happy when I realized they were soulless, because then I didn't have to mull over that question."
"Speaking of souls, that's another thing I wanted to bring up. When Damien's done with what the Ancient's want him to do the two of you will be given a choice. She doesn't know it yet, but Kerana and I are going to have a hand in carrying out what choices are made."
"You aren't obligated to a task the way he is, so I thought I'd offer you an opportunity to choose now. They each have their own ups and downs, but as stupid as it sounds, I can't actually tell you what the choices are. At least, not unless you agree to take a path of no return. Once they've been given, you have to choose, and the choice will be granted. I know this is vague and moronic, but I didn't make the rules on this. The Ancient's did."
"But, of course, you could just wait until Damien is done and I'll get out of your hair."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heather inhaled sharply through her nose. She had to fight every instinct to tear her suit off and jump right in. Part of her wondered if it was okay to do what Liv asked. She's suffered a huge trauma. It'd be terrible to take advantage of that. But, then again, she did make the request first. Surely Liv would know what was good for herself.

Heather bit her bottom lip and stood up. She pulled the zipper on the front of her suit down slowly. She took deep, heavy breaths as she made a show of undressing the rest of the way. A stretch here. A bend there. Then, after a few minutes, she stepped into the opposite end of the bath. A quiet hiss of steam emanated from where the water made contact with her skin. Heather swore under her breath and concentrated on maintaining her body temperature.

"Sorry. I'm still working on that." she said apologetically. She lowered herself down and took a deep breath in and out. She then grinned and poked Liv playfully in the stomach with her big toe.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lokelonni's brow shot up in surprise. "He destroyed it?" she asked. "It...wont be an issue. If I may be blunt, that horrid thing should have been destroyed long ago. Good riddance."
"You mentioned that this boy helped grant you a boon, has he done it for others?"
"You mentioned that this boy helped grant you a boon, has he done it for others?"
Kerana nodded, “Though, I will say for myself he didn’t initiate it. It happened when I . saw Alec’s lifeless body. The feelings I felt were so strong, the loss, the loneliness the… sadness. Damien knew what I was capable of, that I could bring him back from the dead, I had trouble accepting that as a possibility. When my source started to unlock he pointed out it was warped and he had to fix it. That was how he helped grant me a boon.”
“A similar thing happened with Heather. In her case, in an attempt to get through her changes quicker she drank a dose of concentrated meteor. As it turned out her source was accelerating quicker than what her body could handle. Damien came and knew what to do. He fixed her source and she went from being a human lizard into a fire breathing dragon. It was later I found out it was also when he granted her, her boon. "
"Deora, my roommate, she's a water meta. We were in a dire circumstance surrounded by crumbling rubble and a meta human that was causing it. Damien unlocked her source in front of me and was also granted her boon. She held his hand embracing the idea of unlocking her full potential, unlocking her source. Their hands merged into one as the process took place.”
“From what I could gather the others got their’s differently.”
"Well you certainly know how to make a steamy entrance. She let out a soft chuckle as Heather poked her stomach.
"You're too far away Heather. I need you close. I need the distraction from what happened." Liv said a bit softer than before. Her normal playfulness fading away. More...vulnerable than usual.
"I don't want to be alone right now." She spoke in the same soft tone. Arms wrapping around herself. Eyes looking wet. Hard to tell if it was from the steam or tears.
"Oh but I have used her own genetic material. But I required her to be stronger. I promised her after all. If I remade her with her original body she'd fail like she had against me." Legio responded.
He listened to what Alec wanted to say. it was interesting what he said about what he could do. It implied that there was no such thing as Fate. Nothing is set in stone. Interesting.
"I am not a....how do they say it....fan of rules. I understand the necessity but I do not wish to have my life influenced or dictated by these Ancients. I suppose it is an odd thing to say, considering I am an offshoot of the very thing that caused them to be here."
"But come, let us talk about Souls. It interests me greatly. From what I gathered, they are not needed for life to be." Legio stated and moved aside, Motioning for Alec to walk with him.
Lokelonni listened closely to Kerana's explanation. The description of merging caused her a great deal of concern. She couldn't remember anything regarding an individual who could directly connect metahumans to the surus like they were handing out pamphlets. There was something about it that seemed familiar. She did a deep dive into her past lives and tried to recall. The only thing she could recall was two words. The eight. She knew about that, but that wasn't what she needed to remember. There was something else. Something about a choice. She made the decision to keep that concern to herself until she recall what was needed in full detail.
Lokelonni smiled warmly and nodded. "He seems like an honest person." she said in a breathy tone. "I will do everything I can to teach you how to help him, and so much more."
Her ears twitched faintly. She turned her head in the direction of the door.
Since she was shorter, Rydia entered the room first. She saw Kerana, but her eyes were drawn to the woman in the bed. Her eyes watered and her face beamed. "Cor O'Si." she squeaked.
"Rydia!" Lokelonni responded brightly. She held held her hands out to her granddaughter.
Rydia wasted no time and rushed to her grandmother's side. She took hold of Lokelonni's hands and knelt beside the bed. "Cor O'si! O'Si ent O'Su...sen..." she sobbed
Fenris ducked through the door and sighed with relief, "Mama."
Lokelonni gasped, "Freya?! No...Okami?"
Freya and Okami had different names for her. Freya called her "mama" and Okami called her "mother." But it didn't sound like Freya.
"It's...complicated." Fenris replied tensely. She turned her attention to the small fox girl she caught sight of earlier.
"Hey, you're the kitsune I saw in Gidget's lab. What're you doing here with my mother?"
"Do not be rude. I invited Kerana here." scolded Lokelonni. She turned her head head back toward the fox girl and said, "Kerana, dear. These are my daughter and granddaughter. Please excuse my youngest's attitude. I honestly don't know where she gets it from."
"Mama..." Fenris replied red-faced. At least it would be red if it wasn't hidden under black fur.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heather had to consciously remind herself not to heat up the water along with her emotions. She'd waited so long for that moment. The moment Liv said that she needed Heather. The dragon in her reveled in this. At last, Liv was hers.

But then Heather saw the tears in Liv's eyes start to well up. No. Liv didn't need to be taken. Against her inner beasts nature, she would give herself to Liv.

Heather shifted her legs back and underneath her. She slowly made her way over to Liv and straddled the blonde's lap. Heather brought her right hand up to Liv's face and brushed a tear away with the back of her index finger. She tenderly opened her hand to caress then cradle Liv's cheek and jaw. Heather leaned in and rested her forehead gently against Liv's.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm here. I'm yours." she breathed with a vibrato of anticipation. Heather brought her face just close enough for her breath to grace Liv's lips. She took a passive approach to give Liv a sense of control. She wanted Liv to go at her own pace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alec was temped to say that it wasn't up to either of them. He didn't even know about what would happen until he'd looked into Damien's future. He saw eight figures. He'd seen and experienced enough to know that number of "people" was no coincidence.
He straightened up and walked over to Legio's side. That was good. Alec was on one of the paths that had a good chance of a peaceful outcome. Though he had little idea of where Legio wanted to walk.
"Um, yeah that's about right. A soul is normally received just after birth, when the first breath is taken. You, Damien, Nero, and a new person in this facility are exceptions."
Theo definitely felt something but the moment he tried pulling this green thread he imagined in his mind, it vanished. This repeated a few times. Frustration grew and he slapped the air in front of him. A tiny tornado no bigger than him formed and danced across the surface of the water before sucking up water and falling apart.
"What?" Theo said to himself. Repeating the motion, nothing happened. It was difficult NOT to use his own power.
With some confusion he looked at his hand. Pointing out the palm of his hand to the horizon he said" Wind!" Nothing
"Gust!" Still nothing.
"Tornado!" Nope
"Heed me o powerful force of nature!" Yeah, he didn't think that would work
.
He sighed and looked around. It was quite peaceful here. ******** it, he had time. No need to rush things. He felt wind brush past him. Felt nice...but he felt a lot more surrounding him, Specifically...near his hand. Turning his focus back to the palm of his hand, he saw a vortex of wind.
"Seriously?! Fine let's do this!"
Theo placed his other hand on his wrist for support and he willed more wind into the vortex.
More began to gather in the palm of his hand. Theo pointed his hand up to give it more space to grow. And grow it did. He laughed a bit with excitement and relief. Then it grew bigger...and bigger....and bigger.
"How....do I turn this off?"
His smile faded and it quickly became something with a bit more concern....He willed the vortex to stop growing which, luckily, it did. But it did not vanish. It stayed where it was.
"Okay...now...."He breathed in deeply." Fire" He commanded.
With no actual surface to stand on, the sheer force of the blast knocked him back into the water. Shaking off what just happened, Theo quickly launched himself out of the water with his own power. Just in time to see a swirling mass of detonate in midair and form into an actual tornado.
Needless to say, he was in awe. But also realized he needed to seriously work on controlling it.
Then she looked to the third she kept thinking about Theonis. Theonis… she bit her thumb remembering the first time she saw him working out. She remembered how it reminded her of how she first started out, the potential.Was it something similar Teshoumaru and Freya felt when they saw me take the initiative to work out on my own and practice? she paused on this notion for a moment. Then she remembered how dreamy he looked after his workout. There were moments where they had flirted with one another even before they became an item.
Things were really good before he met her. She remembered how invisible she felt. How she had to check that he'd be okay without her. She still felt conflicted leaving him with her, but there wasn't time to dwell on that. Gidget needed her. Yet it meant she left him with the very picture of his type. She didn't ask what happened after she left, perhaps she didn't want to know, perhaps she dreaded the inevitable even then.
Since then her subconscious wished she was the body type he wanted so that she was everything he wanted. Before he met Liv, Trinity took pride in all of her work to be in shape but, the way he looked at her made her wondered if it was worth it. This doubt fed this subconscious. She was able to shake it off and focus on what she needed to do.
It didn't help that he and Teshoumaru had to go and get Liv to help her with the demon, at least that was what Sil was referred to at the time. More time with her. He watched as she took her power away from her, to be fair, there wasn't any other way at the time. Yet, it had to be her
On the one hand she admired Theonis for sticking with her even without her powers. Yet she couldn’t ignore how he looked at the succubus form. She bet he wished she was herself in that form. Trinity frowned and shook her head in disappointment.
Then there were the nights they shared the past month. The sex was great she smiled thinking about it. Her brow furrowed as she thought about leading up to it. A lot of the time Liv was involved. Not in person per say, though Theonis did make a joke about a threesome, getting to Theonis involved thinking of her to some extent. Some nights it was Take that Liv! This man is mine and no one else’s! Other nights it was like He wishes I was her doesn’t he? or He’s picturing her in my place isn’t he? along with thoughts with that moment of how he looked at her along with the dread of her easily taking him away from her, the best thing she had going for her. There were times throughout the month he mentioned Liv regarding observations made of her. She kept trying hard to keep the Succubus at bay but succumbed with the doubt of choosing her over Liv, his type.
Trinity didn’t want to talk about it to him. She was certain that he’d laugh, poke fun and dismiss it as ridiculous then not take it seriously and label her paranoid. She sighed to herself, that’s what every man before him did when I’ve said something. Why should I expect something different? Despite it all, at least she did not catch him with Liv in bed. She didn’t want to wait around for that and figured he’d be a lot happier with her. Dawn is proof of that. Pursuing Liv after having a son together. What w-what’s the point? Just cut to the chase already and leave me out of it! The last thought was paired with the way he looked at her yesterday morning. It didn’t matter that she got her powers back. She saw the way he looked at her, disregarding protocol with handling of citizens of Valhalla. It was the same look he gave Trinity when they were about to make love. She teased him so, she wanted him too. She rubbed the bridge of her nose Why bother spending time with me when the woman of your dreams, someone I can’t compete with, wants you back? This weighed upon her so. Her shadow climbed up the wall and started to drip.
Dean noticed her shadow, with concern. He had never seen it do that before. Then he noticed her still looking at her third shot. How she spent some time staring at this last shot. He touched her hand "Hey, you alright?"
Trinity was pulled away from her thoughts, her shadow reverted to its normal form "Um..." she blushed a little, it occurred to her about what would happen after she'd take her last shot. "C-could you do me a favor, and make sure I'm in my room after my last shot." She passed him the keys to her apartment.
He nodded, "You don't have to do this."
"I need to… you've shared in those times after a big fight to save Valhalla and the world. It takes a toll and this-this is how I can reset, start a new and focus on the next one."
Dean nodded, "I know, and you'll be in your room when you wake up." he took the keys she offered. Then proceeded to let his supervisor know that he would be away to address the matter.
Trinity took a deep breath here goes… “To saving the world and ending mine.” she sighed out. She took the shot. Her vision started to darken around the edges. Naturally her reaction was just to fight it, but she couldn’t. Her shadow shifted into a quicksand substance that caused her to sink slowly. Her hand started to sink at the table.
Before her hand was about to sink in he caught her “Woah! You’re not going anywhere.” Myth pulled her up into his arms floating above the bar table wearing The Sandals of Hermes. There was a trail of feathers from the winged shoes in the rush to get to her in time. He told his supervisor that he would address this when he got back which would be an easy feat since they would disappear along with the shoes once he was done with them.
He looked at the label on her keys. Her old place with Gidget? I thought she told me she moved in with Theo? Guess I must have gotten the wrong impression considering how much she gushed over him. Dean didn’t keep up with the latest rumors or gossip nor did he care to. He flew out of the bar and into Valhalla.
Photos were taken of Myth taking carrying her to her apartment. They were spread across Valhalla’s social media some with the text “Life Goals”. It looked like that from a renaissance painting. Rumors spread saying they were back together.
None the wiser he opened the door to her room. Turned the light on Looks like Gidget moved out. He turned on the light bed and placed Trinity on covered her in blankets. Placed her keys on the nightstand and locked the door on his way out.
A whisper echoed in the darkest depths of Trinity's subconscious.
"Mother. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
The whisper began to increase in volume. Maybe it was the alcohol that allowed Trinity to hear Silhouette in her dreams. Maybe it was the Ancient's desire to not be alone. It may have been both. What became apparent was that Silhouette didn't realize that her voice could be heard.
"It's all my fault. I'm so sorry. Mother. What did I do? What should I do now? I don't. I can't. I did this. Mother..."
The reverberation of her echoes ceased. Her visage fluttered into view. Her dress and hair, dark as the shadows, lay outspread on an unseen ground. She sat on her knees while she rocked back and forth. She hugged and rubbed her arms in a vain attempt to comfort and calm herself.
"I'm so sorry...Trinity."
