The Park

Meggie sat crouched behind a large gray boulder, that was surrounded by roses. It was in the far corner of the garden. He'll never find me here! And when he gets close I'll scare him! she thought excitedly, waiting for the perfect attack.

Without realizing it, he began to walk ahead. After he asked the neko if she wanted to help him, his mind had begun to wander off like it normally did. Soon he was nearing where Meggie was, of course, not realizing that he was.

Meggie heard footsteps nearing closer and used her connection with the Earth to discover that it was him. She leaped out from behind her rock and jumped onto his back screaming her head off, then her scream turned into a laugh, "I got you!" she gasped out in between laughs.

"GAHH!!" He screamed when she had, and fell down to the ground, it wasn't that she was heavy or anything, it was just the fact that a sudden amount of weight was put on him surprisingly. Laughing with her, he looked over at her. "Yes, yes you did. You sneaky girl."

She laughed and rolled off his back and lay, looking up at the sky. She hadn't noticed but it had gotten dark already and the stars were out. Shining and gleaming in the night sky. "Aren't they so pretty." She said and pointed up at the stars. Suddenly a shooting star flew across the night sky. "Oo! Make a wish!"

Looking over at her, Lysander smiled. Shaking his head, he looked up at the sky. It was kind of childish to do so, but he felt like it wouldn't matter. No one would know if he actually made a wish or not. 'I wish that dad would be like he was before mom died, and I almost got caught.' Sitting up, he looked back down at her. "I think we should probably go back to the dorms." Getting up, he held his hand out to help her up. Another thing that he read that men are supposed to do.

She grabbed his hands, "Today was really fun, we should hang some other time." She snapped her fingers and a small flame appeared on her left hand index finger, "It's dark, and I'm terrified of spiders." She held her left like she was holding a lighter and made the lame move to the side of her finger. She then started pulling back the tree branches.

Looking down at their hands, he wasn't sure what to think about it. Hands were all new to him, he read that couples, parents, siblings, and friends held hands. So, maybe they were friends. Friends made sense. "Well, don't worry. Spiders flee from me, it's just my presence, I may look human, but animals, birds, insects, reptiles, and so on, they all can sense what I really am. So no need to worry about any spiders coming toward you."

"Yay! They creep me out. Then I'll cut the light now humans won't bug us." She cut the light and walked carefully in the dark. She took a wrong step and tripped over a root, and because they were holding hands she pulled him down too. "Oh! I'm so sorry!"

Somehow in the tumble going down, Lysander had landed on top of Meggie, looking down at her face. As they had fallen, he had let go of Meggie's hand so that he could bring his hands out forward, so now each hand was on each side of her head. "Oh, no. I'm sorry." Staring down at her, he felt strange. "Um." Quickly getting up, he brought out his left hand to help her up. "Here." Not realizing that his hands were full of mud, he wiped his forehead all the way down to his chin on the right side of his face with his right hand at the same time.

Meggie's felt her face flush after how Lysander had landed on her "Maybe I should keep the light on." She snapped her fingers and saw Lysanders face, covered in mud. She started giggling "You have mud all over your face, and I do mean all over!"

"Great.. I hope everyone's asleep over at the school. I can hear it now, 'What were you doing, hanging with the pigs?'" Hearing his own joke, he couldn't help but laugh. "And yes, keeping the light on might be better." It only took a little while longer for them to get to the end of the park. "Alright, time to be ninjas." Students actually weren't allowed to be out and about this late, especially students from Shadow School, though it's not like anyone listened to that rule.

Meggie killed the light, and whispered "Better to trip then to get caught. On 3 we run. 1... 2... 3!" And she took of sprinting back to the school, she checked behind her to see if he was following but she couldn't really make anything out.

Running behind her, he kept his ears open for any other movements besides their own. Before he turned to leave towards his dorm, he touched her shoulder and whispered, "I'll see you tomorrow in class! Bye!" And with that he took off the rest of his way to his dorm.

Pulling a piece of branch out of his hair, Lysander stood happily in the secret spot. The water sparkling under the sunny sky, it was perfect! Thank god that Meggie found it, hopefully that one neko chick wasn't around.. Because from what he saw, she was no where in sight. Taking his shirt off and his pants off, he only stood in his boxers. "Ahh~" He smiled, "Freedom." Folding his clothes, he set them down under a bush, safe and sound so as to have them for later. It would be bad not to have clothes after all. With that, he set the necklace down in between the clothes, and as he did so he began to transform. Before he was to far into being his serpent form he ran to the water, and dove right in it.
