Gidget frowns slightly. "First off, no more calling what you are freakish. You aren't a freak, you just have a special skill that sets you apart from other people. It's only when you allow yourself to become the monster humanity thinks you are that you become a freak. Secondly, yes, Trinity and I have been helping other people like us find peace with themselves for the last thirteen years."

Gidget can see that it is going to take some doing for Deora to stop hating herself. She figures the best way to do this is the normal way for the last decade. "If it makes you feel any better, I can show you how you aren't that awful. Take a look under the table at my left hand. Let me know when you can see it."

Justine sighed as she exited the cab after paying the driver. She had gone home, but she didn't want to stay home alone. So instead, she'd gotten a cab and came to her favorite place. She walked inside and smiled at all the familiar sounds of the police station.

"EHH! Justice!" The woman grinned.
"Hello Rob." She opened her arms and the man embraced her tightly. She laughed softly as she was lifted off of her feet for a moment. Almost as soon as he put her down, she heard a soft whine coming from her legs. She bent down and reached her hand out and the dog pushed his head into it. "Hello to you too Hans. Has Rob been treating you well?" She smiled as she wrapped her arms around the German Shepard's neck and buried her face in his fur.

"Uh.. Hey Justice..." he was nervous. Something was wrong. Justine paused and pulled away from the dog and looked up towards the man.
"Yeah, what's wrong?"
"Nothing. I was just thinking.... the force is bringing in some new dogs and Hans is the oldest dog on the Canine Squad... He's nearly eight years old now. He's a good partner, but.. I keep thinking how your all alone in that apartment of yours, and.... Well, Hans misses you a lot."
"Are you trying to say what I think you are?"
"Well, they guys and I were tossing around the idea, and we starting training him a bit to see if he was going to be any good. You know, they say you can't teach a dog new tricks.... but, he picked up pretty well, and he doesn't mind wearing the vest.... He past the test last week, so.... If you want him..."
"You're kidding.. right?"
"What? you don't want him?" She could hear in his voice that he was upset.
"No, no, no.. That's not what I meant. I was more wondering if you were okay with giving him up..."
"Well, I'd have to come by to see him." Justine smiled.
"Of course. Well then, I'd love to take him. Thank you."

"You got another name for it?" Deora asked, giving Gidget an incredulous look when told to look under the table. She started to lean over and look, but had to stop and ask, "What exactly am I looking for? Your hand looked normal the last time I saw it."
'Though, it sure didn't feel like it'
She thought as she looked down to the woman's hand

Gidget's hand splits open in a grid like fashion, showing off all of the wires and mechanics underneath. Each of her fingers houses a different tool. USB connector, screwdriver, miniature welding torch, drill, and laser. Not to mention the fact that a closer inspection would reveal inner workings which would suggest that the hand could fold in our outside of itself."Being human is all a matter of perspective. Even though my entire body is artificial, I still maintain a human soul."

Her hand returns to its normal state and she places it back on the table top. "We're human, but a little different than most. My brother used the term meta-human. I prefer that over mutant."

Deora nearly jumped back as Gidget's hand opened up. As it was, she still scooted the chair back a bit as she quickly sat up. She barely heard what the woman was saying as her blue eyes searched for any other sign she had missed. How could she have been talking to a robot this whole time and not known it? "M-meta-human, eh?" Her words came to her almost before she thought them. "That sounds like something out of one of my brothers' comics."

Gidget smiles. "Exactly. DC comics coined the term. To describe a human that had extraordinary abilities. Now before you start thinking that you are talking to an AI, I can assure you that in this metal shell is a human. One of my powers to be able to transfer my soul into machines. I'm still human where it counts. Just like you. Sure you can control water, but you're still human. And you can still have the life you wanted before all this madness happened to you."

"But if you put your soul into a machine, what happens to your body? What happens if the machine gets damaged? Or destroyed?" Deora asked.

Gidget smiles sadly, The truth is...I'm like this because my heart was crushed and burned when I was still made of flesh and bone. I was in a mechanical suit that I built, so as a last resort my powers put me into it's CPU. That was thirteen years ago. As far as what happens to my current body, I've lost a few through fights. I've inhabited about ten different bodies, all of my own design. If one were to ever be completely obliterated while I am in it then I would die."

Gidget wipes her eyes instinctively, even though she cannot produce tears. "But there's no need to worry too much about that. Robo-Gidget Mark Ten is the best so far. I don't think I'll be going anywhere anytime soon."

"So, you're almost immortal?" Deora asked just before the waiter arrived with her food. Her mouth started watering at the sight of the plates of food, but she waited for Gidget's answer before she dug in. She may have been broke and homeless, but she still remembered some manners.

Gidget ponders for a moment before answering, "Yes, I suppose you could say that. It's not all that great though. I've lost three of my five senses, and I can't have children. So I'm not really alive, I just exist. I try not to think too much about it. Oh, don't mind me, go ahead and dig in. You look like you haven't had a decent meal in ages."

Trinity could understand the girl's hunger the meal the waiter brought looked delicious. Alas she had to stick to her diet and drinks her water as she listened to the girls talk.

Deora smiled and started eating. She tried to pace herself, but it was difficult; the eggs were too good. She was also glad to have a reason to stop talking about Gidget's situation. It was interesting, but she could tell it was starting to get awkward and depressing.

She paused between finishing the eggs and starting on the bacon, and looked to Trinity. "What about you, Trinity? What exactly is your power?"

"Shadow manipulation and teleportation." she decided to show a sample of her power. She places her hand on the table with the shadow from her hand she was able to slip her hand in and out like the shadow was a hole. She then shifted the shadow into a blob, then to a sphere which in turn shifted into a mouse. The little creature didn't make any sounds, there were no eyes but it looked, breath and moved like mouse. She let the mouse scuttle across the table then disappear into the shadow under the table. "Pretty much like that, I was able to use it to slow you down earlier today by having it shift into a sticky substance. That trick has come in handy on quite a number of occasions." she says with a smile her eyes seemed to glow for an instance.

Deora had gotten a glimpse of Trinity's shadow abilities in the street earlier, but the extent of her manipulation skills still amazed her. She reached out to the little shadow mouse, but thought better of it and stopped herself as it scurried back into the shadows. As she pulled her hand back she paused and looked at it. Seeing the others displaying her powers made her want to try hers again.

She brushed her fingers against her glass of tea, making the liquid inside start to spin slowly. The ice cubes clinked against the glass as they went around and around. She smiled a bit, and tried something a bit more difficult. With her palm held loosely open towards the glass and her brow furrowed in concentration, she turned her hand and moved it upward like a conductor raising the volume of his orchestra. She was sure to keep her movements small, still not wanting to draw attention to herself, but it was enough to bring the half-glass of liquid up to the rim of the cup. Satisfied, she let it drop and sat back with an ear-to-ear grin.

Gidget smiles as she watches the Trinity make her display. She is especially wowed by Deora's ability. She makes a little whistle and says, "You have a fantastic gift. With more experience you could do incredible things."
