John Van
Ive applied for both an NROTC scholarship as well as the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. So far I got my nomination from my state representative, all thats left to do is wait till April to see if I get in mrgreen

Oorah, good luck with the Academy. It was a hell of a time, its a tough place but well worth it. And just a word of advice from an ex-midshipman, if you get both Academy and ROTC, and if you select the Academy, don't turn down the ROTC scholarship right away. You never know what will happen. I had AFROTC and two Academies, and I went USNA, but ended up leaving because I hurt my knee pretty badly. But if I hadn't decline the scholarship for AFROTC I could have still had that. I eventually re-earned it and re-declined it but that is a different story altogether.

Long story short: Go NAVY, BEAT army!!

Graduated boot on time on March 7th. Now I'm stationed in Pensacola, FL.

I'm waiting to be classed up once I get out of Core this friday. Core sucks...but it feels great to have the internet again.

My boyfriend leaves for Basic...probably next month. He just told me last week, and it's been putting a strain on us lately, but I'm starting to get used to the idea.

So now that you know a little about me.

Hi! How is everyone?

Hey i've been to that base! lol. My ROTC stayed there my Freshman year. I was Air Force ROTC, but it just didn't appeal to me after Freshman year. lol. But that's a really nice base. The hotel that we stayed at was right on the base, and we went out there every day.

lol...good times, good times.

I am going into basic soon possibly, I was approved to roll out early, but if not, then I go in november. How was basic? What was the hardest thing?

Idk if I ever actually posted in here, but my boyfriend signs all his paperwork tomorrow. Then he'll leave for Basic in November, I think. *sigh* I'm proud of him, but I wish we had longer to spend together before he leaves.

We'll have been together for a year when he leaves for Basic...I just realized that.

would "basic" mean BUD/s? If so, I'm going there in about 5 years. Although I'm only 13, I'm planning on becoming a SEAL (if I make it through BUD/s and all the other places whose names I cannot remember) and on the 11th, am starting a training program that when finished, i should be able to do:

20 sets of 20 pushups
20 sets of 25 situps
6 sets of 18 pullups

it'll take about 15 weeks to complete the training program but it'll be worth it. i'll probably be the toughest guy in the 8th grade.
