Alec sat and looked down at the stack of pancakes that were lovingly arranged before him. He felt as though he didn't deserve such displays of affection. But, Kerana felt he did, and he trusted her. Thus, the feeling didn't last long. It was almost a shame the work of breakfast art would be gone in a few minutes. He looked up to Kerana and smiled as he said, "I did, actually. Heh, I'd say I slept like the dead, but that'd be a bit on the nose. It was the best night's sleep I've had in years."

Kerana giggled a little "I suppose you could say that. I'm glad you slept well." As he ate the pancakes with gusto she blushed when he complimented her pancakes and noticed he was eating around the heart she decorated them with. cat_4laugh He noticed! "Thank you! Thought what would be the best way to wake you up and here I thought. PANCAKES!" cat_3nodding

He worked his way around the outside for a few more bites so that Kerana might respond to his compliment. He paused for a moment and asked, "What about you? How'd you sleep? I didn't disturb you or anything?"

"I slept pretty well. I had this dream where the six months have passed and we were about to face Eclipse. I was up on the surface in a field watching the sun come up. You came and joined me. I was telling you how nervous I was about the day. You then proceed to console me by letting me listen to your heart and sure enough my worries and doubts went away." she smiled to herself cherishing the last part of the dream. "Speaking of which in regards for prepping for that day I guess we go to Ms. Lokelonni. Huh?"

Fenris kicked her legs a few times and huffed in frustration, "Gibback 'ere. Imma ******** you up."

She turned her head up and sniffed a few times. It was a foreign, yet familiar, smell. She could tell it was wolves, just not any she knew. She flopped onto her back and opened her jaws into a wide mouthed yawn. It didn't take long for her to wake up, and she was pleased to see that her new body had kept her from getting a hangover. But...she still had little recollection of what happened the day before. So she had gotten drunk enough that her "brain" was unable to process new memories.

She looked around at each of the wolves that watched her with caution. Then there was the one who just watched. She sniffed the air a few times in it's general direction and groaned, "I know that smug-a** funk. Did you watch me all night? The locals wouldn't have touched me. I'm too big for them to wanna mess with."

She sat up and looked around at her environment. She put a hand to her head and sighed, "Well if this ain't some John Landis s**t. Only way this would be more stereotypical would be if I woke up naked in the woods."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damien's knocking persisted.
Deora covered her head and eyes. "Ugh, make the hurting stop." she grunted.
In an attempt to escape the awful sound and light, she rolled herself off of the bed with a thump and shuffled underneath it. "Mmmm. Cold cold floor. Feels so fine."
Heather woke up at the sound of Deora's thump with a gasp. She bolted into a seated position and searched the room from corner to corner. Old memories of Daedalus raids on the Matron house. When she finally got her bearings and realized where she was, she groaned and looked down at Liv.
"Did...did we leave the lights on?" she asked.
"No." Damien called from the other side of the door. "I turned them on from out here. You said I should come back tomorrow. Tomorrow is today."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dropped paused in mid motion and looked up at Deora in stunned disbelief. He'd had the same dream. It's something that would rarely happen with his power. When he was asleep, he could look much further into the future than when he was awake. Last night would've been the fifth time. The difference between waking visions and sleeping ones was inevitability. So far, only one of the four previous visions hadn't happened.

Did their connection run so deep that they were sharing dreams together? He had to be absolutely sure.

"Kay, how did our hair look in that dream? Different from today?"

After she put the dishes away in the dishwasher she approached the closet in her red white trimmed pajama short buttoned up set she was about to make a request when Alec posed his question. She turned to him. The way he asked it made it seem rather important which caused to wonder why?. Regardless she answered, narrowing her eyes to her eyes to remember what her dream had shown her, she nodded "Yes our hair looked different. Mine was in a long thick braid and had a gold bells at the end. Yours was longer, like beyond the shoulders. You had these braids which kept your hair away from your lovely eyes." she touched his nose as a 'boop' gesture "You had this fishtail braid in the middle with two smaller braids that went over your ears. There were blue ombre highlights" she noticed the confusion on his face "um, it's a hair dying style where it goes from one color and fades into the next, in your case black to light blue, which kind of matches the flames you use. Perhaps something your boon did? Kind of how my boon changed my hair." she made reference to her hair which also had an ombre effect going but hers was from white to red and just the ends.

"That's all I could remember, surprised I remember that much from a dream, huh? cat_sweatdrop Um… why do you ask?"

"That is...incredibly specific, but it also confirms a hunch. Kerana, what you saw wasn't just a dream, because I had the same dream last night. Right down to the braids and colors."

"I've never told anyone this, but sometimes I have visions in my sleep. It doesn't happen a whole lot, but when they do it's of events that are much farther in the future than I can see when I'm awake. If you saw what I saw, then it means our connection runs so deep that you were able to look to the future with me."

Alec stood up and looked to Kerana with some concern. "Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that. I mean, does this mean that one day I might share in one of your dreams? Would it be lucid? Could it be dangerous? What do you think? Would you be okay with us being so close that we couldn't have our own dreams?"

Kerana thought quirked an eyebrow as he shared that he had the same dream last night. Though now they can share thoughts she did not think they could share dreams that seemed to be a whole other thing. They may have shared this while they were sleeping she felt a vision is way more different than that of a dream. A dream could be very abstract, could be things that never happen. This felt more real, like she was remembering a memory, only this memory did not happen in the past but in the future, she remembered the feelings she felt, what they were doing, what they were wearing, what they look like where they were.

"I dunno Alec. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing yet something tells me my dreams of having the perfect picnic with you outside in a field of blossoming muffins, and a bottomless picnic basket isn't something we'd share, even though you're in it. This vision we shared last night felt very different than any dream I've ever had. feels more definite y'know? Like a future memory? I think we may share in those distant visions but not my or your dreams. "

"Though that said, I'm wondering … am I able to tap into your power of seeing possible futures? I'm not sure if I can handle that as well as you do … I'd be nervous and freak out or be overwhelmed with worry of what is to come and be frustrated that there's nothing I can do about it." She looked to him wondering what his thoughts were on the matter.

It's only been a couple of days since Kerana has had any form of power. Having a power in general was very different to her, so much she had to adjust not to mention an extra limb to add to it. She knows she has to use it to save the world there was so much to adapt to and saving the world only added a sort of pressure to learn it fast.

Alec frowned. He remembered what it was like the first few days he received his power. The limited, yet infinite, possabilities of the future. It was fun at first, but it soon became overwhelming. Addictive, even. He'd spend so much time looking to the future that he'd ignore the present. The inevitability of negative outcomes weighed so heavily he started to isolate himself so he wouldn't know what awful events might befall his loved ones.

He sighed and forced himself to perk up. "Well, I'm not going to let you get to that point. I'd love to be there in your dreams, but seeing into the future can be...difficult. As much as I love getting to know you, I think it's important for us to have some boundaries. If our connection is the result of our boons, then maybe we should talk with Lokelonni. She might have some experience with what we're experiencing." Alec suggested.

Kerana felt relieved and smiled. She was glad that Alec brought up boundaries, she wanted to bring that up when they found that their thoughts were connected and now dreams/visions? Yet she did not want to hurt his feelings. She nodded on Alec's idea to go visit Lokelonni about the matter, "Great idea Alec! I'll go get dressed." She had made some extra blueberry pancakes for Deora and placed them on a plate, wrapped them in aluminum foil. Kerana texted Deora pointing out that she saved a few for her in the fridge.

The kitsune girl went to the closet and put on a pair of shorts a red shirt, white socks, and sneakers. This tended to be her more casual weekend look, on school days she'd wear a button up top with a vest or something similar in formal nature, knee high socks, a pair of formal mary jane shoes and a pladded skirt (now with bikers because of that one time Theo lifted her and Deora warned her). She was debating weather or not if she should leave her tail loose like she would as a fox girl but with a longer tail it might be a little crazy. She wondered if Heather may have some tips on tail management, then she thought it may also be helpful for her mom as well with her tail. For now she decided to try leaving it loose and hoping it won't be an issue when running into people. She was much less worried about her smaller tail at about half the length of the other. It was much more of a similar length of her fox tail but a little shorter. One thing was for sure, ever since she woke up with ears and a tail she stuck to two piece outfits because of her tail (and now tails) conveniently hit just above where the waist would hit for the bottom half of clothing, dresses, she figured were simply out of the picture and hard to work with.

"Dressed and ready to go!" she said with a fist pump in the air and they headed out of the door to Lokelonni's.

Alec got changed in the bathroom while Kerana got dressed. He went for something comfortable and familiar: Black converse street shoes, black skinny jeans, a black print-T that had the word "GRIM" written in white (using a font that would look at home on a black metal album cover), and a dark grey hooded sweat jacket with the zipper open. He stepped out just as Kerana got done and found himself amused at just how stark their contrasts were. He also couldn't help but smile at Kerana's exuberant display of cheerfulness. He chuckled, blushed, and walked beside her to Lokelonni's dorm.

The retired queen had been moved to a private, specialized dorm just before nightfall. She made sure to update Fenris, Rydia, and Kerana with her location before she retired for the night. That morning, she found herself in good company.

"So then, I followed the trail of footprints made by the would be cookie thief. I open the door to the hallway closet, and who do I find? Little Freya, covered head to toe in flour."

"Oh no!" Raina Carter laughed. "And what did the little trouble maker have to say for herself?"

Lokelonni continued, "Only that Teshoumaru had dared her to do it. Which I thought meant that she'd boasted about how sneaky she was, he insisted she couldn't do it, and so she set out to prove him wrong. But that time, she was telling the truth."

The ears of both mothers twitched at the sound of someone approaching the entrance of the dorm. Lokelonni smiled and sighed, "Speaking of children, it looks as though yours is here earlier than I was expecting. And she's brought someone with her."

"Come in." She called out after Kerana knocked. "The door is unlocked."

Before reaching their door Kerana couldn't help but pick up a familiar voice with Lokelonni's. She stopped and held his wrist, she looked to Alec. Um… a heads up. I can hear my mom's voice with Lokelonni. What are the odds right? Take a deep breath and let me introduce you, alright? I was hoping that it wouldn't be this soon but … here we are. You going to be okay?

She couldn't help but feel a little nervous about the situation. Her mom is finally in a safe haven and not long after she finds her daughter has a serious boyfriend? She shook it off and thought she might be over thinking it, it certainly was the case considering her change from fox to kitsune. Another thing that worried her was that Lokelonni may have told her everything about her boon and that she would have to use it in the next six months to save the world. She could almost hear her mom's voice to plead her to reconsider.

She was hoping she would share what her boon was when they had a quiet moment together. After the excitement of being reunited quelled, after she had settled a bit more and there was a quiet moment she would show her what else had come with the change, her boon. It was also then she figured she could segue into talking about Alec, who is not only her boyfriend but in a sense, as far as the boon goes, right now at least, that he's her other half.

Before she could knock as she would normally do they were asked to come in. She looked at Alec once more and nodded Everything is going to be alright that shared thought not only for him but to also calm down her nerves as well.

"Hi Ms. Lekolonni and … mom? What a coincidence. Oh, uh … right mom this is Alec Yates, Alec, this is my mom."

Crystalion was walking around with the smallest of her kids in her arms. Fella didn't sleep so well tonight, so naturally she didn't either. Gently rocking him and humming a lullaby. Entering the room of her oldest bunch...which was an interesting though. Only one of them was truly hers. Second one was technically hers but also not. Third one wasn't hers but she raised the boy so he was in her eyes. Sending out a spray of colored orbs, varying in color into the room, she decided to wake them up softly. The orbs floated around in the room. They weren't bright but occasionally hummed with a brighter light before lowering again in lumen.

"You actually were naked for a short period of time." Legio responded mentally, still in his wolf form. "It was somewhat indecent."

"But to answer your question, I did not watch you all night. I took a stroll through the zoo. They have quite a variety of creatures imprisoned here on display. Though I understand the choice I cannot say I agree."

Heather's sudden movement definitely woke her up but she was a bit groggy. With a soft groan she sat up, Liv wore a shirt that was too big for her. Half dropped around her left shoulder. But that's about all she wore.

"Hmmmm...Heather..what....what's up? " She rubbed her right eye a bit and yawned.

Me? Yeah. Of course. It's just meeting your Mom. It's not like I feel like there's a stone in the pit of my stomach while my throat and mouth become inexplicably parched. All I could do is accidently let slip some information that'll shatter your Mom's worldview and drop her into a downward spiral of existential dread.

Okay, yeah. I'm nervous as Hell.

Alec took a deep breath and nodded in response to Kerana's assurance that everything would be alright.

Raina stood up and smiled when her daughter entered. Then she laid eyes on the skinny boy in dark clothes who hid behind his curtain of hair. She was shocked that a boy with such a sour disposition would catch the heart of her little girl. He looked like someone who'd be a terrible influence. He might drag Kerana into a world of sex, drugs, satanic music, or God forbid...atheism. Her initial distrust leaked through the veneer of pleasantry that she forced herself to maintain.

Alec knew that look. He'd get it from the congregation at the church he'd used to attend with his parents. He'd faced off against a woman who could devour the life from anything she touched, but Raina Carter scared him in a way that only a protective parent could. He swallowed hard and stepped up to Raina. He offered a hand and squeaked, "He-"

He blushed at the way his voice cracked like a thirteen year old. He cleared his throat and tried again. "Hello, Misses Carter. It's nice to meet you. I can see who Kerana takes after. Er, that is...her looks, not just the fox bits. I mean, her looks aren't the only thing I notice. I mean, that's not to say she isn't pretty! She most certainly is, but she's also..."

Raina couldn't help but put a hand to her mouth and try to stifle her laughter while he continued his anxious ramble. She admonished herself for the initial reaction she had to him. The poor boy was a nervous wreck. He really wanted to make a good impression on her, and was fumbling spectacularly. He wasn't a servant of Lucifer. He was just a normal teenaged boy in love who just happened to have a sullen disposition. Even after everything she went through, she still found herself judging people by their appearance and her feelings.

"...and so nice. Like, I've never smiled so much in-"

"Alec, it's okay. You can breath. It's very nice to meet you too." Raina said with a kind smile and an offered hand.

Alec took a deep breath and let it out in a nervous huff. He took her hand and shook it softly.

Lokelonni chuckled softly, "Oh hoho. Aye, me. Young love is a wonderful thing."

The retired queen felt beside her chair and took hold of a cane. She pushed herself out of the chair with a little difficulty and chimed, "With so many guests, I think I shall start a kettle and brew some tea."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leo and Dawn were the first to stir. The eldest did what he normally does and just watched the light show for a little bit.
Dawn opened her eyes and smiled at the prospect of their fist day with little chance of conflict. She sat up and looked toward the source of the light that was hovering around. Dawn smiled at her mother and stretched. "Still hasn't gotten used to the quiet, has he?"
She then rolled over and shook her half sister, a thought she was still tickled by, and whispered in a teasing tone, "Time to get up, big sis."
But there was no motion.
"Come on, Ravan, let's get some food. Ravan?" she insisted.
When there was still no motion, Dawn sat up and shook her sister harder. "Ravan?!"
Leo snapped out of his pleasant thoughts, rolled over, sat up, and rolled Ravan onto her back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"If you don't like zoos, you'd hate Sea World." Fenris grumbled while she shook the debris from her hair.

"Wait a minute. I got naked drunk last night?" she asked with some apprehension. "Please tell me I didn't get into a fight, proceed to call out my attacks, then try to kiss everyone."

Freya, when deeply drunk, would often get into barfights she most likely started. Okami, on the other hand, would disrobe and try to kiss whoever was closest to her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's Damien." Heather grumbled. "He wants to do the thing where he awakens powers and stuff. But he can wait until we've had breakfast!"
Damien huffed, "I want to do it now."
"Like a dog with a bone, this kid."
"Pleez...stahp...yelling." Deora croaked from under the bed.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:24 am
Ravan couldn't hold it anymore. Her eyes cracked open, and she grinned devilishly at Dawn and Leo. "Sorry, I just had to see a little bit of yesterday's highlights. You guys really do care about me, huh?"
Dawn and Leo stared agape at the audacity of Ravan's prank. Leo proceeded to put both of his hands on Ravan's head and rustle her hair while Dawn picked up her pillow and started to beat the gravity meta mercilessly.
"Oh you! Are! Just! The! Worst!"
"Of course we care, you little psycho!"
The two of them found themselves within a gravity well that pulled them into Ravan. Their initial fright had become a sort of relieved laughter as Ravan actually grasped the both of them in a hug.
Kerana watched her mom carefully. Her ears lowered at first when she noticed her mom's displeasure upon the sight of Alec. She worried about Alec's first impression, she knew exactly what kind of guy her mother was thinking Alec was. If she had known her mother would be here she would have recommended that Alec would wear something else, at least for the first impression. I made her worry a bit more as he spoke. This probably did not help Alec for it may have affected him as he spoke. When her mother spoke she felt way more at ease. She was worried that she would banish her from seeing him again. Yet it looks like she too saw the charm Alec has.
Lokelonni mentioned starting a kettle. "I'll help." Since this place was new to the elven queen she thought it may be helpful for someone who knew these layouts pretty well and if needed to guide her into learning where things were.
Alec I really wasn't expecting my mom to be here. I'm not sure what Lokelonni has told her. Did she share everything about us? Our boons and so forth? She was hoping that was not the case but carried on regardless.
