Alec looked down at his hands and twiddled his thumbs a bit as he asked Do...do you think I should, maybe, take my sweater off?

YES! ALLL OF IT! … NO wait! … um UGH! I'm sorry Alec. Just give me a moment. She looked at the photo she took of Alec earlier and smiled. This is the Alec she knew, and knew that he's in this new form. She just need to find a way to get to the point where she wasn't a blushing mess by looking at him.

In the photo Alec was leaning against the railing that was outside her dorm. She considered the lighting in the kitchen it would probably be better outside. It may make a better before and after photo with similar surroundings.

She breathed in then exhaled turned to him and shared I have an idea … the timer on her phone went off tea …Um... let's serve the tea and step out front for a moment to take the photo. Kerana prepped a couple of of other cups of tea re-using the tea bags that were in Kerana's and Alec's cups. "I'll take these to mom an Lekolonni. You take these two to our spots, seeing that this is all new for you … in … um … this new uh … form. I have a couple of back ups, okay? They should be ready by the time we're done outside and I'll serve them if I need to, alright?" she said most of this looking at the tea and not Alec. She found she was able to focus more this way. She held the two cups served them to her mom and Lekolonni.

"Alec and I need a minute outside. We'll be back in two shakes of a lamb's tail." She stepped outside looked for the right angle to make the photo look like the one she took this morning. She started speaking to herself, pacing and her tails were doing that thing she does when she was nervous, trying to tie themselves in knots. "Remember, it's just like this morning. He ate your blue berry pancakes with hearts on them. He even ate around the heart before eating the rest. Then we got dressed and he pointed out the different styles we had, he took a photo of me, we took a photo together then I took a photo of him where I … (sigh) … I asked him to take his sweater off and place it over the shoulder like one of those GQ models." she smacks her forehead then stretch her face "I-I can handle this he's still Alec, just breath."

The door opened. Alec stepped out. Kerana's heart throbbed as he turned to her for direction. She started blushing again, she closed her eyes took a deep breath. "Right …" she looked to the photo she took of Alec. She got close enough to him to see his shoes. "Um … remember that photo I took of you this morning when you were talking about our different styles? Let's re-create that okay? T-t-take your sweater off and pose like one of the GeeeQ models." She went back to her position to take the photo, focusing on the controls and his edges." "Perfect!" Knowing he hadn't seen himself in the mirror yet she took a deep breath looked at his previous photo. Still focusing on that old photo. "Here you go, that was from this morning. Go ahead and swipe for the new photo, might as well get a glimpse of the whole view that's driving me crazy, eh?"

After a moment she sends Alec back in and proceeded to send the photos with notes to Gidget:
To: Gidget

That's exactly what happened to Alec:

[Attachment two photos and a GIF of before and after of Alec in the same pose.]

[typed, then deleted, not sent]I have to admit there was a lot of difficulty to get this photo, he's so hot now. I mean he wasn't bad to look at before. I mean...........
UGH! She doesn't need know that!

Lekolonni seemed to be in the know of what's going on. We are with her and my mom right now. There was a voice in his head before it happened "Prepare to receive the absolute blessing." She said that the eighth has been granted their boon opening the way for the rest to complete their ascension. So that's what's going on with Alec, Theresa and I'm guessing Liv since it was clear she was the last one Damien had to "fix" if you know what I mean.

I'm not clear as to why only certain ones of us have ascended. I'll let you know if I find anything else out.

Kerana sighed with relief as the text was labeled "sent". Tea would definitely hit the spot right now. Might even help calm my mind and deal with Al- she opened the door. Alec was sitting in the middle her mom on one side and Lekolonni sipping her tea on the other side. Alec decided not to put his sweater back on and she could see his defined arms and shoulder on full display guns … loaded she was red once more and she fainted.

As son as Ako and Theresa walked into the lab, Gidget went to work sizing the living weapon for new clothes. Theresa sat down and waited for Gidget to bring her new attire. That's when Theonis and Trinity popped through Ako's shadow.

Theresa's face brightened at the sight of her brother. She hopped out of her seat and waved to him and Trinity. "Theonis! Trinity! Lookit me! I'm taller, and I've got boobs now!"

She excitedly lifted her shirt and displayed her newly acquired assets. "I'm gonna hafta wear a bra and everything! Gidget said so!"

Ako immediately looked down at his feet and covered his eyes.

Gidget stuffed the clothes she had gotten for Theresa under one arm, rushed up to the eager exhibitionist, and put herself between the young woman and the men that'd just entered..

"Good God, Theresa! I know this is all new to you, but there are some things we just don't display to other people. We'll have a nice long talk about that later. You can even try ice cream if you want. Now, I'm going to have to help you with this part until you've got the hang of it. Boys, eyes on the front door!"

Gidget helped Theresa get her old shirt off, stepped around to her back so that she could help her adult daughter put on her first bra. She spoke to Trinity while she worked.

"So, I just got a text from Kerana, a little after you sent yours. You can put your arms down now sweetie. Apparently Alec's gone through a similar metamorphosis. I just forwarded his picture to your phone. He didn't get older, but he's built like a fighter now."

Ako stood awkwardly beside Theonis as he kept his eyes toward the door. "So...how's your morning been?" he asked Theo half jokingly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alec was a gentle as he usually was when handling ceramics. God help him if he ever cracked part of his mother's tea set. But the first time he'd tried to pick one up, the delicate substance splintered in his hand. He managed to place it in the sink just as it started leaking. He made sure to be extra careful with the other one. That was weird.
He tried his best to pose like Kerana wanted. He felt nervous and stiff, but she was satisfied what what he offered. He couldn't believe she was so nervous around him. It was usually the other way around. It was honestly exhilarating. Being desired by her in such a way was a sensation he couldn't put words to. It was all so new.
When Kerana showed him what he looked like, Alec's jaw dropped. His shoulders were broad! He has visible bisceps! His shirt was tight around his chest and loose on his stomach. Then there was his hair. It had become just like it was in their shared dream. He looked at himself before and after, again and again. As amazed as he was, there was a prevelant exostential thought that struck him hard.
This is me? Where did I go?
He went inside the room and looked to Lokelonni and Raina.
Lokelonni sat calmly and sipped her tea with perfect poise. "Alec, perfect timing. I have just gotten Raina caught up to present day history. Perhaps you would like to fill in the blanks, as I have not had the opportunity to do so. I think last months events would be a good place to start."
Raina, on the other hand, had difficulty bringing the cup to her mouth without trembling. She looked up to Alec and swallowed, "Yes, please. I'd like to know why you are under the sigil of death."
s**t. Alec took a deep breath and took a seat between the mothers. He started to explain how he died the first time, and had just gotten to when he was ambushed in his room when Kerana entered and promptly fainted.
"Kay!"
"¡Hija!"
"Oh dear."
Alec was by Kerana's side before Raina could stand upright. Without a thought or effort, he lift her into a bridal carry and placed her gently on the sofa.
"Is she alright?! Is she ascending too?!"
"No need to worry. The only thing that has ascended in Kerana is her pulse and blood pressure. Once she has gotten used to Alec's new form, fainting will no longer be an issue." Lokelonni explained nonchalantly.
Alec froze in place. I made Kerana faint?!
"I don't understand. She only looked at him."
"Come now, Raina. It has not been that long since you were a teenaged girl."
Raina pondered for a moment. It didn't take long for the pieces to fall into place. She glared at Alec, slipped off her flip flop, stood up, and approached the cradle robber.
Alec backed away from the mother slowly with his hand up and stammered, "M-misses Carter, you're kinda scaring me. W-w-w-hat are you doing with that shoe?"
Kerana felt Alec worrying, in trouble. She wanted to move but her body wouldn't move. Alec needed her NOW! Kerana's voice was heard "Mamá NO!" an astral projection of her was in front of Alec in her astral form, a kitsune who looked like she was in her twenties but with nine tails. Her body was ghostly wrapped around in robes, her eyes were white. "He's not like that! He hasn't done anything but love and respect me. We respect each other too much to take advantage of one another like that. Let me share with you what happened last night …" she placed her fingers on the sides of her mother's head then started to project her memory of last night.
flashback of last night
“Wow what a day (phew) thought it never end. Hey, look! Looks like they’ve canceled school tomorrow.”
"Thank God. I mean, it's been a month, and two years, since I've attended. But I wouldn't want to go tomorrow. Today felt like it went on for months."
“I know, right? Heh, I keep forgetting so much more time passed for you 😅 The reasoning as it says here is to help with the mourning process. Well, I certainly hope it does.” She let out a very cute yawn 🥱 “Needless to say I’m beat … have you heard anything about preparing your room?”
"They're still working on getting me another one. Between my dying yesterday, and the arrival of all those future kids, there's a lack of housing. But...unfortunately, there's going to be a lot of available rooms in the next day or so."
Alec sat down heavily in the closest chair. "I can't help but feel like we could've done so much more."
Kerana sadden a little at his response. There were so many lost. So many friends she would never see again. “I can’t help but feel that way too. I just don’t know what?” She sat down next to him with her hands holding up her chin for a moment.
“Looks like you’re going to need a place to stay for the night, huh?”
"You wouldn't mind? I mean, um, I don't really need to be close to you anymore. Er, that is to say, not that I don't enjoy it. I could stay with one of, the, friends, that I don't have."
Kerana stood up and declared “Alec Yates, you are spending the night at my place and I will not take no for an answer!”
"...Yes ma'am."
They started heading to her place and they talked about all sorts of things.
“Y’know I haven’t heard from Deora. Not sure if she’s coming back or spending the night over at Liv’s? Tried texting her a couple of times but I guess she’s partying tonight.” Kerana normally didn’t mind cooking dinner but today, “Think I’ll take it easy today and set up some pizza.“ she took the frozen pizza out and let the oven preheat. “It’s your favorite flavor 😁”
"Super supreme! You remembered. I shouldn't be surprised, though. You remembered all the little things about everyone in Poetry Club."
“Heh Heh yeup 😅 I guess it’s just part of my gift.” She giggled a little, “That’s part of why I’m the ‘life’ of the party.”
"Heh. Now more than ever, it would seem. I can't wait to see how they react to your new look."
“Yeah” she looked at her hair and tails. “Still can’t believe all that happen it was so sudden. It seemed to just triggered on its own, with the thought of losing you then Damien helped me with my boon.”
Alec stepped forward and took Kerana's right hand into his. "I don't think I ever thanked you for that. Bringing me back, I mean. Your voice was a beacon in the dark that drew me from a prison of my own despair."
“I seemed to be that for more than once, huh?” she squeezed his hand back. Referencing how she called out to him when he was in Legion. She stepped closer to him.
Alec's pulse quickened. He pivoted so he could face Kerana directly. He clasped both of her hands and swallowed. "Kerana...I, you've saved my life more times than you realize. A life that...that I didn't..."
Alec's thoughts went dark, like he was trying to avoid that part of his memory. His eyes dropped, and his hair covered his face. He sniffed and muttered, "I'm sorry. Forget I said that. How's that pizza coming along?"
She directed Alec to look at her and she looked deeply into his eyes “I’m not forgetting…” she kissed him deeply “your life is worth it and don’t let yourself or anyone else tell you otherwise.”
The oven chimed indicating it was preheated. “Now if you’ll excuse me…” she took a moment to address putting the pizza in the oven.
Alec put a hand to his lips. It wasn't the first time she'd kissed him. Not even that day. But it struck him how much it meant. She didn't do it frivolously. Not that he thought she would. But it seemed like every time she kissed him, it was like an underscore of that moment. He wanted to reciprocate, to give Kerana her own underscore. But he was afraid of pushing things too fast. Too far. But he felt compelled. He had to say it. To mean it.
"Kerana."
He waited for her to be finished the oven. Once she faced him again, he stepped up to her and placed his right hand tenderly to her cheek until his thumb rested just in front of her ear. His left hand slid over her right shoulder and behind her neck. His eyes became as intense as his cheeks were flushed, but they still maintained their compassionate twinkle.
He swallowed hard again and whispered, "I, I love you, Kerana Carter."
He softly placed his lips against hers, closed his eyes, and held her in a loving embrace.
Finally she thought as she returned his embrace and affection. They kept things above the belt. The oven dinged again and the room smelt of Alec’s favorite pizza. They parted breathing heavily their clothes may have been disheveled but definitely not off. “Worked up an appetite?” she said with a wink. Then walked over to the oven.
Alec's face beamed with an amused grin. Every time he thought she'd reached peak cute, she surprised him. "Yeah, starving even."
Kerana cut and served the pizza. Her tail was up swaying side to side. They were sitting at the table munching on the pizza. She started thinking about what was next.
Alec ate his pizza with great enthusiasm. He was also thinking about what may come next. "So, um, I was just thinking. Deora might come back late, if at all, right? Maybe I should take the floor so she still has a place to sleep?"
“The floor?! No… we can’t do that you’re my guest! I’ll take the floor.”
"What? But you could hurt your tails with how hard it is. I insist. It's really no trouble."
“No no no I’ll be fine. It’s your first night back among the living and out of the hospital.”
Alec was about to insist again when a thought occurred to him. "Well, we could, ahem, maybe share the bed? If it's alright with you, of course!"
Kerana blushed “l uh … ” twiddle her fingers “I never slept with a guy before.”
Alec blushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "That makes two of us. Er, sleeping with a girl, that is. In the same bed, not "sleeping" with her, just sleeping with her."
Kerana blushed as he clarified the specifics.
Alec covered his face with embarrassment. He'd really stuck his foot in his mouth that time. He uncovered his face and cleared his throat, "Aherm, if it'd make you more comfortable, we could put a barrier of some kind between us. Like a wall of pillows or, something?"
“Yeah! Pillows! I think I put some away when I first moved in as well as Deora’s pillows. Let me get them.”
"Okay. While you do that. I'll put the dishes away and then get a change of clothes from the closet."
“Oki doki!” She got all the pillows apparently there were too many they wouldn’t be able to fit on the bed. Kerana shook her head at this “Too many.” She made some adjustments. “Yeah, there we go.” While Alec changed into his PJs Kerana quickly changed into hers. “Ok, I’m all dressed, come out when you’re ready.”
Alec stood in the bathroom looking at himself in the mirror. His clothes, although the right size, just sort of hung off of him.
"Well." He said quietly to himself, "At least you've got character...and one helluva girlfriend."
That brought a smile back to his face.
He stepped out in a blue sleep T with matching flannel bottoms. He rubbed his left arm nervously as he averted his eyes for a bit. When he raised them, they locked onto Kerana's PJs. Simple, yet they looked so...
"Soft." Alec clasped his hands over his mouth, kicking himself for saying the quiet part out loud. He took a moment to collect himself and said, "After you."
Kerana picked her spot. She was facing the middle a little away from the pillows and her tails hung off the other side. Alec took his spot she said, “Goodnight Alec” she gave him a peck on the lips then let out a cute yawn and quickly drifted asleep.
"Goodnight Kay. I'll see you in my dreams."
She hoped it was enough to persuade her mom to leave Alec be. Since it was the first time she astral projected in this plane and shared a memory herself, she felt drained. She faded into her body. As she was doing so she gave Alec a smile you are going to be okay.
"I see....so I suppose you're also up for adoption huh? Already leaving the nest. So sad." Crys playfully pouted a little.
"So, what's stopping me from adopting all of you huh? It's not gonna be easy taking these kids away from me."
Trinity's touch was always welcome but in that moment after what just transpired? It didn't feel right to him. He quickly put on his white blouse and grey vest. No need to something over that. He wasn't going out or anything. This is stylish enough. It's something he had grown to adore during his time as Head of Valhalla. A good fitted suit feels so damn good. Trinity's compliment did make him chuckle a bit.
Both hopped into the shadow realm and Theo guided her to where she needed to go which on itself, was a new thing. While he knew something had happened to his new sister, this is not what he had expected. It was just one metamorphosis after another. First the double hair colors, then came another color and now this. Guess it really did run in the family.
"Hey, yeah I- wha?" But then it was too late. Theo pinched the bridge of his nose, shook his head and sighed before he could hear Gidget hushing her. With a chuckle that became more of a laugh he turned around. Was it going to be another of those days?
"I'll have to get back to you on that front. It's just getting started."
"The shadow stalker will be handled and dealt with. It will not survive. I promised I would take care of it and I will." Legio responded in a matter of fact." We will correct your children's mistakes."
What would he sacrifice to gain something something he knew not the value of and could live without?
"I do not require a soul to live. Why would I sacrifice anything to gain something that holds no intrinsic value to me? What I wish, is to explore freely. To learn whatever it is that I set my mind to. "
"Thanks, I feel like I'm glowing."
"Something about the circuit being complete and receiving the absolute blessing." Liv replied."So..I guess two Ancients are needed for that?" She smiled at her girlfriend and made her way over to her. There was no way she did not know the effect she had on Heather. She ran her hand through Heather's hair.
"I like your hair, maybe it's just because of what just happened but...even this looks so much more vibrant. Everything has more color to it. Like the saturation has gone up. Like...your eyes."
Trinity turned away following protocol. Apparently the girl hasn't learned modesty yet and reminded her of something a five year old would do. She looked to Theonis who had also turned away pinching the bridge of his nose.
While Gidget was getting Theresa in her first bra she received the message she forwarded and proceeded to show Theonis and Ako in case he hadn't seen it. "He may be built like a fighter but can he use his body like one? Guess we'll find out when he starts training with Fenris, huh? Just reminds of my first day in Valhalla, heh, remember Gidg?"
flashback
[...]
Gidget laughs nervously then looks over at Trinity. Her eyes go super wide and she gasps, "Holy cow Trinity! You got ripped! What did Freya do to you?"
On Gidget's reaction, Trinity places her hand behind her head and laughed a little lol sweatdrop "Freya and I did a shadow link, in the shadow realms. What took 15 minutes out here covered a life time of training in there. [...]"
"Good times … lots of changes, learning and discoveries. I remember after first looking at myself thinking from athlete to fighter. Even after all of that I still had to learn a lot about control, though it helped a lot to have a real good sense, beyond the fundamentals. Got to wonder, if these two have been upgraded to their primes … got to wonder what the hell would it have done to Liv?" She's already at her prime as far as I could tell. What did she get even more beautiful? (sigh) Yet another reason for Theo to just go an be with her already.
"Now why would I be up for adoption? I thought coming out of you was reason enough to hang around. Right, Ravan?"
"Mom, all we're saying is that we've all got a chance at starting over. Y'know, away from the monsters and eyes in the sky. We should make our own futures, not stay stuck in the past."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Perhaps it has no value to you, but what about those who stand beside you?"

"I can't speak for them, but I would give up everything I've gained in the last month. The friends I've made, the things I've learned, and the power I inherited. The one thing I've always wanted since being born is to experience the human condition. I want a chance to discover the world as a child does. Reach milestones and work toward a goal. I don't want to be clairvoyant, invincible, or even super smart. Not without earning it myself. I want to start from zero."

There was a hushed murmur among the Primantigua, though it sounded more likes chimes and low hums. After a few dozen seconds of deliberation, they faced Damien nodded in unison.

"We find your answer acceptable. Your future will be of your own making."

"What of you, Fenris?"

"What of me? You're the de- Silhouette's mother, right? Freya didn't want that. What she wanted, what I wanted was to keep Trinity from risking her life. She may not be my kid, but it's an elder's duty to keep the young safe. Then blobby ******** over there interfered. As grateful as I am to be alive, I despise how I exist currently. You want to know what I'd sacrifice to be human...ish again? I'd rather be dead. Do you get me? I wouldn't want to exist."

Fenris looked over to Legio and said earnestly, "You want to know the value of a soul? I'm not smart enough to be all philosophical, and I'm not in the know like these glowing demigods are, but I think it's the possibility of carrying on beyond death. I think that, because I saw it. I saw the end of the road when you killed me. But it's not the end, it a new beginning. A whole new experience...even if you aren't you anymore. You may learn everything here, but it'll die with you...whenever that is. Then what?"

The eight conferred again. It took more time than Damien, but the eventually turned toward Fenris.

"We find your answer mostly acceptable. Your fate will be in the hands of Death's Blade."

"What?! The ******** does that mean?! Answer me Goddammit! Are you killing me or what?" Fenris asked furiously.

"We wont. There is one on Earth that is bound to his duty by way of possession. He will be the one to either save you, or end you."

"Now, back to you. You have not truly answered the question. You replied with a question of your own. Why would you sacrifice anything to gain something that holds no value to you? While the question is valid, it is uninformed. A soul holds no value to you, because you are unaware of what it is like to be in possession of one."

"You proclaim a desire to learn. To explore. In the pursuit of that knowledge, would you not likewise desire to experience that which mortals take for granted until they experience death?"

"Mind you, the biomass dies one way or another. It is not necessary to take our offer of your own soul, but we would be remiss not to allow you an opportunity to learn what it is like in return for your part in delaying Eclipse's plan."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather's draconic eyes looked into Liv's sparkling ones. Her emerald orbs saw so much more than the human eye ever could. It was like a gentle kaleidoscope danced around Liv. "This...is so not fair. Just when I started to gain some of the power in this relationship, you have to go and get yourself cranked up to eleven."
"Don't dials only go up to ten?" Deora asked lazily.
"It's from a movie, Dee. But I wonder, if this happened to you. Why didn't it happen to Deora and me? What happened to Damien? Did this happen to anyone else, or were you the only one that got hot-ter. Hotter. So ******** hot."
Wisps of steam began to emit from Heather's ears as Liv continued to run her fingers through the dragoness's silver and brown hair.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I highly doubt he's learned anything about fighting just from getting broad shoulders. Even you had to do actual physical training to make it second nature. As for Liv, it probably made her all sparkly. No doubt Heather is having the time of her life if that's the case. Last time I checked, she and Deora spent the night in Liv's room, and they haven't left as of seven this morning."

Ako chuckled and rubbed his neck anxiously. "Sorry about all of this. All of this new stuff seems to keep happening while I watch her. She was just sitting there eating a waffle, while I was showing her how my bike worked, when she turned to stone for a minute and then came out like that."

"Jeez. If I can't look after a teenager, what the Hell am I going to do when Gidge has the baby?"

"Okay guys, she's decent."

Gidget had dressed Theresa very casually with boots, blue jeans, a white t-s**t, and olive jacket. She'd also, in an attempt to make her daughter look more adult, taken the opportunity to undo Theresa's twin tails and put her hair into a simple pony tail that sat at the base of her skull.

"I thought it best to start with something simple. She can work out what she likes when she gets a chance to hit some stores later. But she looks good, right?"

At first, Raina was terrified by the ghostly visage of her nine-tailed daughter. Her knee jerk reaction was that Kerana had some how died and come back as a ghost to punish her for failing as a parent. But that thought was dissuaded by Kerana's tone. She could say nothing and do nothing as Kerana initiated the connection.

There truly was nothing wrong. The boy was respectful and kind. Her daughter was considerate and empathetic. It was sad, sweet, and nostalgic. All the while wrapped in the uncertainty of young love. Being careful not to overstep while also making sure that their feelings and intentions were clear. Lokelonni had been right, but not in the way Raina originally thought. Kerana had swooned in a way that Raina fantasized of doing when she was that age. Not so much the passing out part, but the overwhelming desire of amor.

When the connection was severed, the mother took a few uneasy steps back and sit herself down in a chair. She watched as Kerana's spirit returned to her body and then put her shoe back on her foot. She looked to Alec shamefaced and apologetically said, "Alec, I'm so sorry. I assumed the worst without really getting to know you properly."

Alec averted his eyes and dolefully replied, "It's okay. I'm kind of used to it. You don't look like I do, well...did, and not draw some negative attention."

The maternal instincts in Raina ached at the sadness in Alec's voice. She could see hints of a deep pain that the boy still held onto. "No, it's not okay. If there is anything I've learned in these last terrible months, it's that what's considered normal does not always mean good. It's a bad habit that I'm working on breaking. You have my blessing to see my Kerana, so long as you be patient with this foolish mother."

Alec looked to Raina with a looked of uncertain joy. "Y-yeah, sure. Thank you."

Lokelonni set her cup and saucer down on the table and cleared her throat, "While this moment of understanding is much needed, and very touching, I am afraid that there are more pressing matters to attend to. Alec, do be so kind as to fill everyone in on the events of the last few months. Kerana wore herself out with that out of body jaunt, but she will awaken shortly."

So Alec filled them in on everything. Shane Morris, his death and consumption, legion, his rebirth, the attempted coupe of Valhalla, the month of relative peace, the constant assaults of two days ago, his next death, Kerana saving him, Crosis, the Ancients, boons, the eight, the lunar spire, the repeated history of Earth, and the Hellstar.

Long before Alec finished, Raina had become white as a sheet. She took several breaks to get more tea and water, but her nerves were shot.

She looked to Alec and asked, "There's no Heaven or Hell...is there?"

"...Not in the Judeo-Christian sense, no."

She then looked to her uncinscious daughter and began to weep, "And her, mijita, the girl you love...she has to be a part of this?"

Alec didn't respond verbally. He only hung his head solemnly and nodded.

Raina looked to Lokelonni and huffed, "And you wanted to keep all of this a secret from me?"

The elf calmy replied, "Only until I passed my boon onto Kerana. I did not think it necessary to terrify you after only just escaping from what is essentially a specimen holding facility. I wanted you and your daughter to have time to reconnect. Time, mind you, I wish I had with all my children. Alas, my youngest daughters have been replaced by their amalgam, their brother is half dead, and my eldest daughter was struck down by the fiend possessing my half dead son. So believe me when I say, as a parent, I wanted what was best for you and Kerana."

Raina considered Lokelonni's words in silence. She sighed heavily, stood up, appreached the couch Kerana slept on, kneeled down, and begain to stroke her daughters hair.

Ravan said nothing the entire time the others quibbled over adoption and the future. Even though the truth had been made clearer to her the day before though Crystalion's efforts, there were still viciously deep scars scored into the psyche of the gravity meta. All the talk of getting over the past, moving forward...moving on. It started to fill her with an anxiety she couldn't source or get a hold of. Then Dawn made her quip about coming from the middle aged woman in the room with them. Ravan swung her arm out with a small outward gravity well around her hand and smashed hole into the wall closest to her. She exhaled slowly and without looking up muttered, "I'm not hungry."

dressed in similar tomboyish attire that she wore the day before yesterday, she grabbed her designated phone and silently stepped out of the room. She searched for the location of the pools and started to make her way in that direction.

"I highly doubt he's learned anything about fighting just from getting broad shoulders. Even you had to do actual physical training to make it second nature."

"True that may be. I thought with this whole ascension thing that their Ancient would walk them through it or train them. Kind of what Sil and I were doing while I was passed out from drinking last night. Talk about maximizing the time we've got."

Then Gidget shared her theory about what would happen to Liv, "Yeah, who knows."

Ako then shared his concern about watching over a teen who turned to stone on his watch, wondering how he'd be able to handle taking care of a baby. Turned to stone? That must have been scary… I wonder if that's what the others have gone through. Would I be turned to stone when the time comes? she wondered. "I wouldn't worry about it so much Ako. I'm sure you and Gidget will figure it out when the time comes, together."

Once Gidget said the coast is clear she turned and presented a more decent. The outfit she was in would be something Trinity would consider on a casual day. "Looks good to me." she said with a thumbs up.

Considering Gidget had her hands full with Theresa, Trinity took the initiative and created a group chat called "The Chosen" then proceeded to send a message to the parties involved. "Please ignore the next text."

To: The Chosen
Meeting in Gidget's Lab at 10:00am

This was a half hour from now. She figured it would be enough time to get things in order before the meeting.

Raina considered Lokelonni's words in silence. She sighed heavily, stood up, appreached the couch Kerana slept on, kneeled down, and began to stroke her daughters hair.

Kerana started to stir and opened her eyes. "Mami, please tell me you didn't kill Alec with your slipper." her mother slowly shook her head and smiled. Kerana sat up and reviewed the events that just happened in her head. She wondered briefly that she had ascended but everything looked and feel the same, so that did not seem to be the case. She shared a thought with Alec Did I really manage to bring my dreamscape self here to share a memory with my mom to persuade her to not smack you with her shoe? She stretched a little and saw Lokelonni and Alec, she started to blush again. She looked to her mom then asked her “Could we go to the kitchen for a moment?”she agreed and they went to the kitchen out of sight of Alec.

"I take it they've told you everything huh?" her mother confirmed it. She hugged her mother, "I'm sorry I wasn't the one to tell you. I was planning to after you got a bit more settled with Valhalla. Heck wasn't planning on having you meet Alec just yet." she blushed at the mention of his name.

"Speaking of which. I haven't run into this issue before …" she rubbed her cheeks. "It's like the moment he ascended my feelings for him have as well and my body isn't able to handle it. I know it's a matter of time before I get used to it. Have you ever dealt with anything close to this? This is is like 'the ultimate crush x 10", like there's a pit sinking down in my stomach at the same time butterflies are bursting upward. Ai yah … I don't know how else to describe it. I manage to focus on everything around him to keep things moving but I feel bad about that. I-I don't know what to do … Alec is a wonderful boyfriend and I don't want to be this badly blushing mess around him."

Yeah, you kinda did. You're gonna have to explain to me why the mere sight of your mother's sandal scared me so much. It's like that shoe was her power or something.

Alec watched as Kerana left with her mother. When his phone buzzed, he took it out of his sweaters pocket and looked at the display. A group chat? Started by Trintiy? And it's called "The Chosen?" He wondered when Trinity had a chance to get his number. Then he remembered that everyone's numbers are updated into the registry when they get their phone. The only way to not have someones number was to block it. He typed a few messages to Trinity in response and paused when he heard stifled laughter. He looked to Lokelonni, who had an amused expression. "What's funny? Did I miss something?"

Lokelonni chuckled and answered, "Yes actually. As rude as it is to eavesdrop, I could not help but overhear part of their conversation. Suffice to say, your recent changes have made quite the impression on Kerana."

Alec blushed and fidgeted. His train of though went back on track when he remembered why they went to Lokelonni's room in the first place."Actually, we wanted to ask you about something..."

Raina watched and listened as her daughter rambled on about her awakened feelings. It brought back memories of her own youth, but she was unsure if it was all just that. Alec had said they shared a spiritual connection through their boons. Could that be making her feelings for him stronger?

"Tranquila, hija. It's not that strange for you to feel the way that you do. All young ladies, myself included, have moments where they swoon over a handsome young man. Maybe not so much that they faint, but you are a young lady who has just watched her boyfriend go from, no offense to him, a five to a ten in sixty seconds. Tell me, after what you showed me happened last night and what you see in that other room, what is the loudest thought in your mind?"

Raina asked knowing full well what the answer might be and how her daughter might react. Her husband would've burst a vein, but she was not so quick to forget what it was like to be a teenage girl.

"I see." he listened to Fenris, followed by the rest of the Eight.

" For all I know this could all just be sweet talk to persuade us to fight. I would require some evidence or token of good faith to see that you truly are capable of doing so. After all, you are asking me to essentially throw away what I am, what makes me....me.... Mortal" Legio responded. There was no signs of these Eight actually being capable of doing what they claimed they could do.

"Do not misunderstand. I am very intrigued and I shall assist in delaying Eclipse's plan, I was already intending on doing that. To screw him over to say. I had promised to do such after all." He glanced over at Fenris before focusing back on the Eight."This is just me being...cautious."

"Ahhh, maybe too much teasing this early. Did I really change that much?"
With a wink she blinked back and saw her phone vibrate and light up. She wanted it in her hand instead of over there. It blinked out of existence and into the palm of her hand.

"Well that's new." Liv said surprised and then saw the message.From Trinity, that was also new. She quickly replied.

"Guess we have a meeting at Gidget's lab at 10.About...." Motioning to herself. " This. Seems it happened to others as well."

"Well...this is hardly a normal situation dude." Theo replied to Ako."Normal kids don't turn to stone and are selected by god-like beings. I'd worry more bout shock-proofing everything."

Being told he could turn around again, he did. It really was strange to look at his half-sister again.

"You good this time? You done changing colors or height? I know kids can go through phases but this is ridiculous." Theo joked at seeing Theresa."But for real. You alright?"

"I know, I know sweetie, I was joking. I'm not THAT unreasonable." Then came Ravan's small outburst which instantly triggered Crystalion's fight or flight. Partially lighting up, she searched for what caused it. Which was Ravan. She stopped glowing as Ravan left.

"Oh....oooh....right. Poor girl. We're talking about moving on when she finally truly feels at home, where she belongs." She took a deep breath and sighed."Let's give her some space."

Anima pointed at Legio and shouted in a voice that echoed in a realm with no walls, "You demand of us?! We who reset the world! We who could disperse your soulless form in this space!"

Umbra groaned, "Would you just stop already! It is obvious they do not fear us the way you thought they would."

"She is right. This whole omniscient God thing was funny at first, but this is just a waste of their time and our energy."

"Just a bit longer? Did you see the wolf's tail when Anima got loud? It's practically on her stomach now."

Fenris looked down and indeed saw that her tail had curled between her legs and up to her lower abs. She consciously pushed it back and glared at the eight. "Okay, what the ******** is happening right now?"

Anima sighed and uttered, "Fine, I suppose the charade has gone on long enough. Though I am fairly certain we could have kept it going if Umbra was not such a pooper of parties."

The light that surrounded them grew dim until it was a gentle aura around the eight. They looked no different than any man or woman on the present Earth.

"Our apologies. We've been alone here since the start of the planet's first age. We're very bored and quite possibly mad."

"Oi, don' ye go bahd moothin' us jes teh giver yerself a chuckul."

"Why, are you talking like that?! There wasn't a Scotland where we're from! You sound ridiculous!"

Damien looked around at the bickering people. "I don't believe this. Our fates rest in the hands of immortal idiots."

"Hey now, that's no way to talk to your elders. Honestly, children in this age."

Tellus put his hands to his ears and yelled, "Shut up, shut UP, SHUT UP!"

The void became silent for a moment until Umbra cleared her throat. "As Tellus said, our prolonged time here as remnants of the people we once were has had...adverse, effects on us. But make no mistake, we're still quite capable of what following through on any promises and threats."

"Damn right, there ain't a chance of the biomass goin' on livin' outside Empyrean. Y'all can live, but that s**t's gotta go faster than a horse needin' ta piss."

Ignis pinched the bridge of his nose and huffed, "Again with the stupid accents."

"Focus! Ahem. We were left here to speak with the one's our children chose in the event they find eight others to receive their boons. However, due to the actions of Umbra's son, the process has been interrupted. We don't have much time, and there are others on Earth that can tell them what they need to know. So we decided to talk to the three of you."

"But why?" Damien asked. "We're not instrumental in what's to come."

"Well that's not entirely true, is it? You facilitated the passing of boons from the kids that have moved on to their own pocket world. Fenris has already accepted the responsibility of making sure the new eight are physically and mentally ready for the battle on the moon. And Legio is going to do what he can to ensure he makes up for cocking up Freya's attempt to stop Eclipse."

"Yeah, seriously man. What the ******** we wanted to offer the three of you gifts of sorts in return for cleansing your forms of the biomass. But then Mors came up with the bright idea of acting like obtuse, riddle obsessed, a*****e Gods. The yays outnumbered the neighs by six."

"We truly don't mean y'all any harm. We just wanted to get an idea of what motivates you...in a roundabout and confusin' manner. Why did I vote yay? Anywho, Legio, you're in your right to not completely trust us. Hell, you're probably the smartest in the bunch for havin' some doubts. You mentioned a token of good faith. What wouldja want?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather grabbed her own phone off of the counter and checked the message. "Oh my God! Is that Alec? Kerana must be, oop, yup. There's her response. Maybe tease her a little less too?"
Deora grunted, "She doesn't take it as well as some of us."
"Okay, I'm getting you a pot of coffee. Liv, you may not have changed all that much to the others, but my eyes can see things theirs can't. It was hard not to look at you before, but now you're...hypnotic."
Heather skipped off to brew a pot of coffee for Deora, who was still hiding under the bed and loving the cold floor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ako chuckled nervously. He had enough trouble controlling his power at first. What if the baby electrocuted everything they touched.

He turned around and clapped moderately for Theresa. "Wow, you're looking all grown up there. Nice job, Gidget."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dawn inhaled through her teeth as she looked at the damage Ravan left behind, "I think part of that might be my fault. I've been teasing her a lot since last night. About us being sisters. She asked me to stop a few times, but she wouldn't say why. I thought she was just being grumpy."
Leo turned to Dawn as he put his shirt over his head and asked, "Seriously? You didn't know? She always got really quiet or angry whenever I asked about her mom. One time I wouldn't let it go, and she stuck me on the ceiling until Dad made her let me down. So I never asked again, because it was obvious she didn't want to even think about it."
"I kinda remember that. But now that she knows Mom is her mom, shouldn't she be happy. Well, less angry at least?" she asked with genuine confusion.
Believe me, that is not far off and a very legitimate fear. You do not want to know what she can do with that shoe.
Kerana took a deep breath closed her eyes then peered looking from one side of the kitchen’s entrance. She remembers last night wanting to see this version of Alec. Her eyes opened they were completely white and she saw Alec’s soul which look like he did this morning, this had lead her to think he hasn't fully identify himself as his new outward appearance, not fully, not yet, a struggle they both shared in a sense. She observed his soul and mixed it with memories of last night, “Love, warmth, genuine” she blinked her eyes became normal and saw his current form, “breathtaking” she sighed, felt her cheeks warm again turned away looked down and said “inadequate” the last word was obvious it was referring to her.
She felt her phone buzzing. She looked to her phone. What’s this? A new group? The Chosen? A meeting… oh no Trinity shared the photos x.x … LIV!!! cat_scream
“To: The Chosen"
Liv: Daaaaaamn, Kerana must be a mumbling mess right now.
Kerana: SHADDAP! It’s hard enough as it is >.<
(sorry Alec cat_eek )
Liv: You're adorable.
Alec: eek
Kerana: >.<
She and Alec proceeded to apologize for derailing from the topic at hand which was there was a meeting in t-minus 30 minutes?! cat_eek
She fanned herself and let her mom know that there was a meeting in 30 minutes that she and Alec have to attend. “How am I going to get myself composed enough to get through this?”
