"I blame her." Legio casually said with that same damn neutral tone. Perhaps as a joke, who knows."My decision remains unchanged as do my reasons for it. I promised her I would remove the Shadow Stalker and I require everything at my disposal for that."
He stood up, his Biomass being absorbed into him. It occurred to him that it might be the last time he could do that.
"Speaking of which, Anima. Her soul was trapped, I created a new vessel with the same markers as her original body. Same mind, everything. That was most likely the cause."
He put his hands behind his back.
"I am ready."
"Awwww," Liv couldn't help herself then turned to Heather."Oh you flirt."
Theo glanced over to his half-sister."Let's freak out dad after this. That should be fun to see."
Cassandra was caught off-guard for a moment. Her hair flashed in surprise. She didn't hear him enter the room.
"You scared me there for a moment. What did I tell you about sneaking up on people like that?" She sighed."So...what is it you want to tell me?"

"Well hello there. Someone filled out in all the right places." She said with a wink to Alec but mostly looked at Kerana who was hiding behind him. Liv looked...rather smug when saying that."You two are adorable together."Rikki Tikki Travi Alec was also a bit of a blushing mess. He was not used to the amount of attention and praise he was getting. His only response to everyone was a nervous laugh and a shrug. Everyone. that is, except for Liv. When she made a comment about how cute a couple he and Kerana were, he actually smiled proudly and responded. "Yeah, I think so too."
He looked over his shoulder at her and smiled. That wasn't so bad. I guess my imagination was just blowing things out of proportion. Heh, wouldn't be the first time.
Kerana heard Liv approach Alec she closed her eyes and prepared for the worst, to be laughed at what a mess she is around him. Then she said her piece. That was it?
Heh, you thought you were blowing things out of proportion. I got so worked up over nothing.
She calmed herself and stood next to him awaiting what Trinity had to say. She saw Liv. Is it just me? Or did Liv not change much. Her eyes look kind of like Trin’s when they glow except blue. I guess there’s a wide range of possible changes with these ascensions, huh?

Hey Aqua who's your friend? sounded a friendly voice in their minds. The voice sounded like it came from a certain direction which caused them to look that way.
Like a dolphin, she entered with a few jumps and a spin. She surfaced near Ravan. Her skin was very much like a dolphin but blue instead of gray. She had a wide head, or it was more like a plate of some sort on top. She had dorsal fins on her forearms and on the calves of her legs. She wore a purple one-piece, round-cut swimsuit.
She could have read Ravan’s mind to find out her name but thought it more polite to have Aqua introduce her.

Rikki Tikki Travi Gidget rolled her eyes playfully and returned her attention to everyone. "Okay everyone. As your probably guessed, we're here because of what happened this morning. I have no idea what's happening, but Trinity has a little inside information to share with us from Silhouette."
Gidget looked over to Trinity and asked, "How is she, by the way? Any better from yesterday evening?" Trinity took to the center of the floor, “Thank you Gidget. Silhouette is doing much better thanks for asking. She was teaching me some new shadow manipulation techniques last night.” “All that well and good. There’s something important she had shared with me. At approximately 9:15 this morning The Ascension of the Eight has begun. This was triggered by the last of us to receive our boon, Liv received it.” she turned to Liv when she said this. “Not only did she receive it she receive both halves of her boon at once allowing her to ascend.” She proceeds to look to the rest of the group. “So if you're wondering why this hasn't happened to you yet, you'll need to find the other half in order to ascend. All eight of us have to ascend to save the world from Eclipse and the Hellstar he's trying to summon.” “You might be wondering where can I find my other half?” She looked to Theresa, “They are within her other clones that are helping with Eclipse. She received her boon yesterday after the battle. Then her second part, from Chariot, one of her clones that worked for Eclipse. It didn’t activate until the ascension began. Like her, the second part for water, fire, and wind are within Luna, Prism, and Strength. We may need to kill the rest of them, to acquire the second. As for shadow, that will be Eclipse and life?” she looked to Kerana. “I’m not sure who would have that and Sill doesn’t currently have an answer. I’m hoping we’ll be able to address this in the time ahead. Though right now I’ve no idea how we’re going to find them before time is up.” “Now I have a couple of questions for you, those who have ascended. Were there any warning signs before it happened? Physical changes aside, has it affected your power in any way?” She looked to Liv, Alec, and Theresa.

Theresa excitedly rose her hand and called out, "Oh! My power doesn't hurt to use anymore. I can also break off changed parts and then take them back. Watch!"
Theresa took a step away from Theonis, held up her palm and made a block of metal raise up from it. She then knelt down and put the block on the floor. With a touch of her finger, and a light show identical to the day before, she reconfigured the block to look like a hot dog. Like the child she actually was, she looked around at everyone for their reactions and feedback.

Ravan turned her head in the direction she thought she heard someone speak. She was not prepared for what she saw. When she was little and on her own, she had come across a building with lots of books. She, of course, couldn't read. That didn't stop her from enjoying any picture books she found in the most colorful corner of the building. Her favorite ones were about beautiful ladies who were part fish. They seemed so majestic and alien to her. Beings who thrived in a part of the word she would never be able to explore. The bio beasts couldn't swim, so she often imagined being able to escape to the bottom of the sea and live her life peacefully. When she was finally able to communicate, she asked Gidget what it was she saw in the book.
"Mer...maid." she breathed wistfully.
Her gaze had become the wide and awed eyes of a child who just saw something incredible. She sat there, mouth agape, unable to parse together the words to express how excited she was. Ravan just stared at Sara like she was a celebrity.

Anima shouted triumphantly, "Hah! I knew it! Suck it Mors!"
"I will suck nothing! You suggested no such thing!"
Fenris huffed at the reactions of what were essentially gods. Damien was right. Immortal idiots. All of them save for Umbra.
"Hey, um...Umbra. Why aren't you as crazy as the rest of them?"
"I have help. Mister Nibbles makes sure I stay focused."
"Mister...Nibbles? And heeee's?"
"The squirrel that lives in the shadow of my hair. Though he's very shy and rarely ever shows himself. Especially around predators."
"Okay, yep, that's it. We're done here. I honestly had it back at 'pooper of parties'. Can we please go now?"
"Righty-o wolferino."
"We're gonna send ya'll back free of the biomass."
"And Legio will get his own soul and the proper equipment to match his identity."
"There's just one last thing we need to do."
They all smiled and began to clap enthusiastically.
"Congratulations."
"Congratulations."

"Wait, are you seriously-"

A small rodent then peeked out of Umbra's hair and squeaked in a tiny voice, "Congratulations."

They were back in Fenris', or rather Freya's, assigned dorm in the blink of an eye. She pat herself down too make sure she was all there. Head, face, heart, tail. All she felt was fur. She looked down at herself, yelped, and covered herself as best as she could. That's right! Her clothes were made from the biomass. When the Ancients took it, they took her clothes.
"You'd better not be looking at me, or I swear to-"
Fenris turned her head to make sure that he wasn't gazing at her when she saw that he also wasn't clothed. For just a moment, she couldn't help herself and looked down at his pelvic region. She slammed her eyes shut and yelled, "Goddamnit! Cover yourself up!"
She reached to her bed, grabbed the comforter, and threw it at Legio. "You stay here! I'm going to the bathroom to change!"
She went to the closet and requested casual clothes for her size and anatomy. She grabbed the items and stomped to the bathroom while she rambled about how much she hated squirrels.

"I'm sorry, I know. This is just where they put me."
He took another deep breath and flatly stated, "I gave Liv her boon. I'm finished with what the Ancients wanted me to do, and like Alec said I was given a choice. I chose to be human, and to experience the life of a human boy from day one without the biomass or the rapid aging. I'll be a normal human child."

Alec watched the display Theresa put on and gave her a thumbs up. He then looked to Trinity and replied, "I don't know about them, but I heard a voice in my head telling me to prepae myself. Then I passed out for about a minute. I haven't really tried to see what I can do now, but I did accidently break a ceramic teacup just by holding it. So I guess I might be physically stronger now."
Gidget, Ako, Deora, and Heather clapped for Theresa as they would a kid who just showed off a macaroni picture.

Legio watched them bicker once more before they were sent off. Perhaps it was the part of Fenris inside of him but he did truly believe these eight were idiots.
Godlike idiots.
Then just like that they were back at Fenris's dorm room. She over reacted once more about not being dressed. He could never understand why. What is there to be embarrassed about? When she bolted towards the bathroom he looked down and saw his new parts. He gave it a look over.
"Interesting." He said and wanted to say more but couldn't. Words wouldn't come out. His chest felt empty. Legio grew concerned as he felt like something was preventing him from living. He begun to feel weak. This felt so suffoca-
With a gasp he breathed in deeply for the first time in his entire existence Air rushed in, expanding his lungs and he breathed out. The breathing that came afterwards came naturally to him. It had to after all.
"So that what that is like. It's not very efficient only one set of lungs." Legio said to himself and uses his biomass to change his appearance. Or he would but couldn't use his biomass since it was gone. But his appearance did change. It seemed those Eight did not lie to him. He could still shapeshift.
"Similar to me. Time slowed down and I saw Aurora and Lucent and then it was all just...intense vibrant light and I heard a voice say that the connection was complete and to prepare for the absolute blessing." Liv explained.
"As for what I can do now....I've only recently discovered I could teleport things from a distance so that's not something I got from this. So I don't know what changed. Oh right, these feel different." She activated the Infinity Eyes on the lowest output so noone would go insane looking at it.
"I saw the past and future of my living room if that makes sense and the......things could happen in there." She gave Heather a bit of a side glance.
"Its hard to get rid of me when you don't know where to aim." Aqua replied and shifted her form back into the normal sphere. Responding to newcomer of the conversation.
"Ah this is Ravan. She is new here."

Fenris stepped back out of the bathroom in a grey tank top and navy blue sweat pants with a hole cut out for her tail. She was relieved to see that Legio was dressed, but there was something wrong. She sniffed the air around him and realized that there was only once scent on him.
"Y'know, you're gonna have to learn a lot of things really quick. Eating, relieving yourself, hygiene. Here's a tip for free. You're gonna need to use actual clothes at some point. If you just keep making your skin into clothes, you're gonna smell like a sewer after a few hours."
She stood with her hands on her hips and sized him up. He looked practically the same, but she could see and smell the difference. "So you're human now. Soul, organs, needs, wants, emotions. Not that I care, but what's the first thing you're gonna do?"

Gidget put her thumb and forefinger to her lips and pondered aloud, "After what happened yesterday, Eclipse will be playing things close to the vest until the Lunar Spire becomes accessible. He's going to keep those three with him at all times to make sure they don't give away their halves. Looking for him would also be incredibly difficult since he's aware of how Trinity, Alec, and Liv move around. Yes Alec, I noticed you tearing holes in reality within Valhalla. There's very little that happens here that I'm unaware of."
"And then there's the question of what the rest of us will do. No doubt Rydia and Fenris will want a piece of the action. Ako and I aren't about to sit it out."
Ako's brow quirked just before he interjected, "Gidge, we talked about this yesterday. You're going to be in your late second, or early third, trimester. There's no way you can go in that condition."
Gidget put her hands on her hips and replied, "I never agreed to that. They're going to need me there to figure out whatever contraption is up there so that we can break the cycle. I'm not chancing putting my mind into a machine, and remote control or instructions will have a delay that we may not be able to afford."
Alec fidgeted awkwardly as Gidget and Ako started a small argument in the middle of the meeting. He looked to Kerana and projected, Say, about the other life boon. Queen Lokelonni has it. She confirmed it while you were asleep. Should we say anything?

After Theresa was done with her display Kerana cheered “Yatta! Theresa!” with a fist pump and a jump twirl in the air. Trinity followed in suite with Gidget and the others clapping at a similar level of enthusiasm.
Then as Gidget spoke she quirked an eyebrow at around the same time Ako did. She approached the couple “I hate to say it Gidg but Ako has a point. You are deciding for two lives, not just your own. On the other hand, we do need Gidget’s help in this next fight, there’s no denying that. We wouldn’t have been able to win yesterday’s fight without her. This needs more discussion, we may need to table this for now.”
Kerana looked up to Alec as he confirmed her suspicion of who would have her second half of her boon That does make a lot of sense, since she knows so much of what I’m capable now and seemed to know what happens when one is receiving their boon. I think we should let the others know, at least cross one thing off of the list.
She looked around the room, “Does anyone have any further questions, comments, or concerns?” She noticed a certain kitsune’s hand raised. “Yes, Kerana.”
”You mentioned you and Sil did not know who had the other part of boon of life. Alec and I found out Lekolonni has the other part of the boon of life. She seemed to know a lot about my power and a lot about this Ancient stuff and how important the next months are.”
Lekolonni? That’s Freya’s- I mean Fenris’ mother… The head of security’s eyes narrowed at this notion interesting… though, what happens to her once she passes her boon on to Kerana? her eyes lowered thinking it may end up being the inevitable.
“I was wondering… I had witnessed Alec ascend… he was engulfed with light then he was surrounded by blue flames. The latter I think has more to do with his boon. Did something different happen when you all ascended?”

"I see. How...inefficient." Legio responded before making his way over to the dressed. Monk robes were still something that he'd prefer wearing. So he chose something similar. His appearance changed back to his new human naked self and he got dressed.
"Hmmmm.....I do have an interest in procreation." He looked Fenris up and down. After a short pause he continued."That was a joke. Due to the irony of it all, I suppose I shall feed myself."

Sara noticed the way Ravan was staring at her, like she was some celebrity. She has gotten that look before, because she tended to be more opened than the other mer-metas however she hasn't found a way to bypass the awkwardness of the situation. "Um…" she waved in front of her face "Hi, Ravan? Welcome to Valhalla? I'm Sara. You okay?" she offered her webbed hand for a hand shake.

Theresa beamed at everyone's support, especially Kerana's. She hadn't spent more than a few minutes with the kitsune girl, but she was quickly becoming one of Theresa's favorite people.
"Oh! Just before I got tall, I heard words in my head. Then I got all covered in rocks and couldn't move. It was really scary. Then I broke out and looked like this."

Ravan blinked a few time and stammered, "Y-yeah! I'm okay."
She reached out and shook Sara's hand. She was amazed and intrigued by how the mer-meta's skin felt so slick and warm. "Oh wow..."
She finally pulled herself out of her head and looked to Sara's eyes. It was then Ravan realized she was being rude. Normally she didn't care, but she didn't want to hurt Sara's feelings.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! It's just...when I was little, and all by myself, I found a picture book with all sorts of mermaids in it. I used to dream about escaping all the danger and living where the monsters couldn't get me. I don't mean to stare, but meeting you is like a dream come true."

"Live went through something similar." Heather added with a blush that still persisted from Liv's last innuendo. "The light she was covered in felt like staring into the sun. I couldn't see all of it without burning my eyes, but when it was done she stood there like nothing happened."
Deora looked to Liv and asked, "What did that feel like? Was it scary, or did you even know it was happening?"
Gidget was still miffed at the notion of being sidelined because she was pregnant. In her heart and mind, she didn't want to risk her unborn child's life. She wanted to stay home and experience every little moment without worry. But, logically, she knew that failure meant that everything would be over. She had to tip the scales in their favor, one way or another. Trinity was right, best to put a pin in it.
She looked to Trinity and asked, "I know that look Trinity. I know I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where. Do you know her?"

Fenris felt a wash of heat hit her face. She was rendered speechless and had to fight every instinct to let her tail wag. Okami's side, no doubt. It was getting close to that time of year, but Freya's side was the one that won out. She bared her fangs and snarled, "That s**t's not funny, a*****e! It's not like I could even-! ******** tossed her hands up in the air, stomped to the door, opened it, then pointed down the hallway and yelled, "Out! Find the cafeteria yourself! Eat s**t for all I care!"

Trinity smirked toward Gidget, “You know me too well. Funny thing, I never met her face to face. I know the name from Freya’s memories she shared when I first got here. Lekolonni is her mother. If I’m not mistaken she was the one Fenris rescued from Eclipse’s claws and at the same time foiling his initial plan.”

She finally pulled herself out of her head and looked to Sara's eyes. It was then Ravan realized she was being rude. Normally she didn't care, but she didn't want to hurt Sara's feelings.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! It's just...when I was little, and all by myself, I found a picture book with all sorts of mermaids in it. I used to dream about escaping all the danger and living where the monsters couldn't get me. I don't mean to stare, but meeting you is like a dream come true."
Her dark eyes smiled as she remembered when she first read Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Little Mermaid'. She would often fantasize living among the depths to be among the mer-people. This drove her interest in marine biology but before she was going to start her internship the meteor hit. As they say 'be careful what you wish for'.
Sara smirked, "I did the same thing too, though in my case it was reading 'The Little Mermaid'. Funny thing, this is not quite what I had in mind when I had dreams of joining other mermaids in the deep." she rubbed the back of her head. "How are you adapting to Valhalla? Where are you from?"
