More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

"Of course I was held at the main HQ," Annie replied. "I was a gem for the Daedalus Project. They kept me locked in an air tight chamber with no moisture, and with armed guards constantly outside. I would have been drugged like most of the others if drugs actually worked on me, thank god for that, at least I knew what they were doing to me at Daedalus."

"Being locked up for so long makes me sympathetic to Shane," Annie said, seriously. "The only difference is he has done some really horrible things and deserves to be locked up, he isn't sorry for what he has done, not yet at least. The horrible things I have done I atone for every night when I can't fall asleep or have nightmares. It bothers me the people I've taken the lives of, it doesn't bother Shane."

Annie shivered slightly thinking about how coldly Shane regarded the hundreds he killed and saying "don't worry must of them were scum anyways." Changing the subject, Annie asked, "How many have you saved from the Daedalus Project?"

The eldest gave a look to her younger sisters, both of whom nodded. Kali jumped up to the ceiling above them and hung there, attached by both her hands and feet.

Lia closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before she opened them and thought solely of lending her strength to Jezebel, who in turn looked to Alec.

"It may take some time... these powers aren't prefect." She just wanted to make sure he was on board before she turned back to the doors. She felt the warmth of her sister's power wash over her as she looked to the door before her. Mentally, she willed something to open it.

Gidget hangs her head slightly a mutters, "Not enough in my opinion. They are getting better at hiding, hanging just outside of the reach of some of my more able connections. I don't suppose you could tell me exactly where their HQ is?"

There is a spark and the first door slowly crawls open. The creature looks to Jezebel and says, "Take as much time as you need. The rewards from this will be more than worth the effort put in."

"North Dakota," Annie said simply. "It's like a town of its own. Families of those who work there live right in the compound too. To break in or... or to break out requires a small massacre in its own right."

Annie took a deep breath and bit her lip, her brown eyes looked panicked as she finished her last sentence. How many was it I had to kill to finally escape? 23, right. She reminded herself. 24 lives taken by my power that I know for sure... doesn't that lead me to the road of monster-hood as well?

"You're not going to be able to save anyone from HQ without loosing lives," Annie said coldly. "Not that a lot of those at HQ are great people, but it isn't worth the casualties for the freedom of the meta humans. Quite frankly, I shouldn't have escaped. It was an ultimately selfish act."

As the door slowly opened, Kali moved with her lighting reflexes to disable the cameras.

Taking a slow deep breath, Jezebel's focus moved to the next door. Her eyes narrowed somewhat as she pressed her powers father then she had before. She reached her hand towards Lia, who grabbed it tightly.

Gidget stops before reaching the vending machines and grasps Annies hands.

"Hey now, there is no reason to feel that way. What they were doing to you was wrong, and what they are still doing is wrong. You were well in your right to escape. And I'm sorry if this seems cold Annie, but if there is one hard truth I've had to come to terms with is that when there is a gun pointed at you and they mean to pull the trigger...there is a choice that has to be made: them or you."

"But there was no gun pointed at me," said Annie. "And if there was with my 'liquid body' ability it isn't like one would make a difference. The thing is they were never going to kill me. Or at least do there best to make sure I stayed alive. I just got so that I couldn't take the experimentation any more and the screams and sobs of the others..."

Annie shivered and rubbed her shoulders, "The place is a monstrosity but I signed up to be a part of it. I shouldn't have left how I did. They never would have let me leave any other way but I shouldn't have left that way. Gidget... with me it is so easy to kill someone, and... and that scares me."

The second door opens like a camera shutter. The mechanism holding it in place suddenly breaks loose and drops the top three components of the door. The creature can feel it's heart racing. Soon it would be done, and the project could continue. "You're doing great. This is working out as I foresaw it."

"We have to accept that as part of what we are Annie. Some meta-human powers are beneficial, and others are destructive. We have several here that are capable of burning down buildings with but a sneeze. It's all a matter of your mindset."

"People like you and me take note of those that we have hurt. Others don't see life as precious. I'm sure there is a reason we were hit with those meteors and given the abilities we have. I can't believe it is just coincidence."

Gidget lets go of Annie and places a hand on a vending machine. A can of Cola tumbles into the slot and Gidget picks it up. She offers it to Annie with a smile.

"Here, this one is on me. Is there a chance Daedalus is after you? Do you need to lay low for a while?"

After leaving Gidget's lab, Ako dropped the fake smile. He didn't know how to find Gidget and didn't really care at this point. He needed some time away from former friends so he could set things straight in his mind. He found a directory of that part of the building on the wall next to a couple of elevators, with an arrow in one corridor pointing towards a mall and food court. For some reason that seemed like the place to go. The rest of the complex looked to be offices, labs, and apartments. Maybe he'd grab a bite to eat while he was there, as well. He hit the call button and waited patiently, half expecting the doors to open and reveal Gidget. This wasn't the movies, however, and timely event like that didn't happen often.
As it was, the elevator arrived with a young couple in the middle of a kiss. The pair quickly split apart when the doors opened, the girl, a blond of maybe 16, blushing wildly as her ice blue eyes looked at the ground to avoid eye contact. The guy, about Ako's height but skinny as a twig with dark skin and eyes of fire, just smiled and nodded towards Ako as he stepped into the elevator and went to press the button for his target floor, only to find it already lit. The couple was probably going to a dinner date.

The ride seemed to last forever, silent aside from the music coming from the headphones draped around the guy's neck, and the occasional smack of lips as he kissed his date to put her at ease. It warmed Ako's heart a bit to see such love, it was a rare thing in the places Ako had seen. He tried his best to remain invisible and not bother them, looking down at the floor and his well-worn boots, black tinted brown from ground in dirt and dust.

The elevator doors opened and Ako let the couple leave first before stopped and pretending to re-tie his boot before walking after them so they could have their space. When they were a good distance away he got up and continued walking. When the corridor opened up to the open mall area, Ako stopped again, closing his eyes to try and steady his thoughts against the sudden sounds. His ears focused in on a peaceful sound; the rhythm of music pouring from a store just a few doors down. He looked over the see a flash of purple hair, and a woman with a blindfold. He didn't pay as much attention to them as he did to the store they walked into. Maybe some music was just what he needed.

Kali moved faster then the human eye could catch. Within the time it would take someone to blink, she would have both cameras disabled as if it were nothing.

"Three more." Jez muttered under her breath. She could feel her head starting to pound, her body heating up. Her grip on Lia's hand tightened just slightly as took another few deep breaths as if to steady herself.

"Jez, slow down." Lia frowned somewhat, not liking to see her sister in pain. She could feel that Jezebel was straining herself. She placed her other hand on her sister's shoulder.

The extra strain that Jez put into the third door causes the servos inside of it to spark and erupt. The doors fly outwards, disabling the third camera, and pounds into the fourth door, causing it to bend at the middle. The gap is large enough for the five teens to squeeze through.

The creature's eyes go wide with surprise. A less likely outcome, but a welcome one.

"Two for the price of one. Now there is only one door left."

"Bye bye Trin" She smiled and waved her goodbye. Well...so far so good. She thought as she went through the cards real quick. Gidget...Daedelus had interest in her. She might get to meet her. How nice of Trinity to do that for her. Oh she could just kiss her for that.
Liv continued along towards Amanda. She wondered how she would look.

Amanda wore enough make up to look like she had flawless skin. Other than that everything seemed pretty neutral. She had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a blue button shirt that had started on the third button and wore a pair of black pants that fit her well.
"Hello Ms. Crystallion I've been expecting you. Here is your form. Once that's done the residential agent will take a look at your requirements and find a good spot for you... Oh I see... there's seems to be a note from Trinity requesting a room with a lot of sun light. Do you wish for that to be one of your requirements?"

Kodak answers back with the message [Not a thing boss-lady. Since you are back to watching them I am going to grab a bite. BRB smile ]

A few moments after Gidget and Annie's elevator leaves for the recreation and meals level of Valhalla, another elevator arrives at Shane's wing. The creature steps out of it and takes a deep breath, and small smile itching at the corner of it''s mouth upon feeling the creator. "This is the place. There are five doors leading to his room. There is a camera sitting above and behind each door. All we need to do is glitch those doors open and disable the cameras. Are you three ready?"

Trinity looked at the text Kodak gave and felt reassured that he was watching the whole time. Then when she saw through Kerana's shadow her eyes widen. She recognized which room they were in Damn it! I had to be right! How did they get past Kodak?! Never mind that, I need to take action! First some back up... isolate the room they are in and sound the alarm for security personnel only, Code Red and Black (which was the code for Shane).

From the shadows a voices could be heard from them, yet they were all the same voice. "Halt... not a step further!"

“Oh.” Angel paused for a moment. She tilted her head to the side as she seemed to be thinking about it. “Well, I can’t seem to remember that… Anyways.” She turned to him. “So, Why did we come here?”

Justine laughed softly. “I’d help you look but.. You know.” A playful smile made it’s way across her lips. She couldn’t help it. She often made jokes about her blindness, although she wasn’t really sure why… Maybe it had to do with the fact that the next day she would be able to do things she hadn’t in months. Watch a movie, see the sun rise. “Deora.. I have an… Odd… request. If you don‘t mind.”
