More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Legio cocked his head slightly in confusion. Humor was more complicated than he thought. He walked towards the exit of the room.

"I do not think that is very nutritious nor on the menu." He stated as he stepped through the door opening.

Cassandra perked up and smiled. "Oh that's great honey." She gave him a hug before the words truly made sense in her head.

"Wait, day one?"

"Well...I wasn't aware of what was happening to my body. Since my mind was somewhere else. But that's it really for me. Maybe I was ....recreated in that minute. That's about all I have about that."

"Guess we need to talk to her then huh."

Trinity shrugged her shoulders "I suppose we could and see what else she knows. Guessing that could be our next stop after the meeting."

She looked to the rest of the room "Are there any further questions?" There was silence. "Alright we won't take up any more of your time. Meeting adjourned. Keep your eyes on the group chat for any further updates or meetings."

As the group dispersed, she crossed the room to Alec and Kerana. "We'd like to meet Ms Lokelonni."

Kerana

Her dark eyes smiled as she remembered when she first read Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Little Mermaid'. She would often fantasize living among the depths to be among the mer-people. This drove her interest in marine biology but before she was going to start her internship the meteor hit. As they say 'be careful what you wish for'.

Sara smirked, "I did the same thing too, though in my case it was reading 'The Little Mermaid'. Funny thing, this is not quite what I had in mind when I had dreams of joining other mermaids in the deep." she rubbed the back of her head. "How are you adapting to Valhalla? Where are you from?"

"I don't think I am, not yet at least. I've only been here for two days and, well, y'know. Plus I spent a good part of yesterday in what the doctors called a 'self imposed coma.' As for where I'm from, I came here with what everyone has called the 'future kids.' It's a long story."

Theresa took Trinoty's adjournment as her opportunity to approach Theonis. "Theonis. Did you want to see Dad? To freak him out?"

Fenris was about to berate his attempt at humor again when a stupid but profound thought occurred to her. He was new...to everything. She mulled over how funny it would be to watch him choke on his first attempt to drink with a proper human anatomy, but there was a small part of her that couldn't just let him do that. Stupid conscience.

"C'mere!" she demanded as she snatched his right hand and held it up to chest level. She rotated it so that the back of his hand was facing up, and she started to carefully trace the pad of her right index finger in a series of lines and circles. "When you saved that boy the other day he swore a life debt to you. Before now, it was just verbal. It takes someone of royal blood to enact or severe it. So guess what? Now you've got yourself a little companion at your beck and call."

The moment Fenris finished the right, there was a blur and Heron was at Legio's side. He quickly dropped to one knee and placed his closed fists on his chest and back. "Your Highness."

"Yeah yeah. Heron Cael'anon, you're hereby bound to Legio blah blah blah. Look, just stay with him, make sure he eats actual food, and doesn't swallow his tongue or something."

She ignored Heron's gratuity and looked back up at Legio and snarled, "F.Y.I., jokes about ******** someone who's not interested will usually result in something like this." She then slammed the door hard enough for it to rattle the walls on either side.

Heron stood and looked up at Legio. "Why does she think you don't know what or how to eat?"

Damien nodded his head and replied, "Yes. In a few minutes, I'll physically and mentally regress into a newborn so that I can learn and grow like any other human. I'll also form bonds and attachments that I can feel, since I will also have a soul. As it stands now, I'm very fond of you Mother...but I don't think I can say I love you the way a child should. I want to say it, to feel it, and mean it."

"I know this most likely will make you angry, but I hope you'll take care of me like you have this last month."

Alec rubbed the back of his neck and replied, "I'm sure she'd love to talk to you, but she was kinda wanting to start Kerana on her training as soon as possible. Given the current theory, I can guess as to why."

Heather yawned and looked to Liv and Deora. "Well that was riveting. What are you girls planning on doing now?"

Deora rubbed her temples and mumbled, "I'm goin' back ta bed. I just hope Rydia isn't there. I don't think I can handle her right now."

Dawn and Leo were about to enter when they saw that everyone was busy. They opted to wait outside the gaping hole for Trinity to be done.

Alec rubbed the back of his neck and replied, "I'm sure she'd love to talk to you, but she was kinda wanting to start Kerana on her training as soon as possible. Given the current theory, I can guess as to why."

Kerana wasn't expecting this kind of answer from Alec. She didn't think it was an issue to delay the training just a little longer. Heck she was half expecting him to stutter when facing Trinity directness, but didn't. She was still thinking of the old Alec she supposed. "We'll let her know that you'd like to meet with her."

Trinity was also caught a little off guard when Alec answered, expecting between the two of them that Kerana would answer. She heard Theresa speak to Theonis that they wanted to visit his dad to freak him out. She could agree with Lekolonni’s urgency to start training Kerana. “Very well. Let her know that Theo and I would like to talk to her. Let us know when would be a good time to meet her.” She excused herself then head back to Theo. “Looks like we’ll be meeting with Lekolonni later. She wants to focus on training Kerana right now."

"Speaking of training I haven't heard from Fenris and I see that I missed a text earlier from Rydia regarding training, which means I'll quite literally will have to track her down. This isn't like her when it comes to training…"

"I take it you’ll be meeting with your father right now.” she awaited for his answer.

After their exchange she dropped into the shadow in the back corner with the impression of tracking down Fenris. As she approached the corner, she could sense her son's shadow as well as someone else with him, probably Liv's and Theo's child, Dawn. She wasn't ready to face her yet, she kept running facing her apology over and over again in her head and she couldn't see a scenario where she could fully accept her apology. How can I accept the apology of someone whose mere existence is proof that Theo was better off with the other woman? With that in mind it would only lead to upsetting her further, estranging the relationship she has with her son. Which in turn she figured is the last thing they need while adjusting to this time and place. She felt she need to talk to someone who knew them both way better, she knocks on the door of the one called Crystalion.

Alec watched Kerana for a bit as they approached the exit. It didn't take long for him to not only see that she was uncomfortable, but feel it through their connection. He though it better not to probe her mentally as it would violate her privacy. Best to ask aloud.

"Kay, what's wrong? I-is it because of what I said to Trinity?" he asked.

His mind began to steadily twist itself into a spiral of negativity. An old habit he was still trying to break. Thoughts of failure, possibly ruining their relationship, self loathing for having upset her. With a quick breath he started to quiet his mind. He hoped she didn't notice.

Leo frowned as he felt something in the back of his mind. A disruption in the shadows.

"She's not here. I think she's trying to avoid us."

Dawn sulked and sighed, "Oh...okay. Maybe we still freak her out a little?"

Leo looked to Dawn and pondered if what she said could be true. Given what happened two days ago, he thought it more accurate that Trinity was actually avoiding Dawn. He didn't think it fair to tell her that, though.

"Yeah, maybe."

Dawn started to walk away and looked over her shoulder. She could see her un-father talking with a woman that had colorful hair, he younger version of her mother smiling and flirting with two other women, and the fox-girl from the day before talking to-

"Oh wow! Is that the same guy we saw yesterday? He looks...different."

Leo looked in the direction Dawn did and saw what she saw, "s**t. It's like he went to sleep and woke up a fighter. Y'know what? Before we go, I want to thank the fox-girl for patching me up yesterday. Let's hang back a bit longer."

Alec exhaled and muttered, "R-right, of course. S-sorry. I'm s-still working on thinking p-positive. "

"I do, and I-I'm sorry. I should've checked with you again b-before answering Trinity. It's absolutely important t-that they have a chance to talk, I j-just wasn't expecting her to w-want to speak with Lokelonni immediately."

Alec took a nervous breath and sighed in an attempt to control his stuttering. "I-I...I also told Trinity a half truth. It's about something that was brought up while you were unconscious. Lokelonni does need to see you before she sees Trinity, but not for training. There's something she needs to talk to you about, mentor to mentee. One on one."

She asked me not to tell you.

Legio was about to walk away as she seemed to want before he was stopped by her.

He cocked his head with a raise eye brow. This was all going rather fast.

"Hold u-" Legio replied

"I don't think that woman thinks about things in advance." Legio told himself.

Legio looked down at his new ....companion.

"Because I have never done it before. This body is...very new. It's not the same as the one that saved you. It's complicated."

"I assume you mean your bed or are you gonna crash in mine again?" Liv asked Deora."I mean you're welcome."

Theo nodded at Trinity and looked at his half-sister. "Yeah I just want to see his reaction. I mean, She's already grown faster than normal. But now this? Even he couldn't predict that! It's been a while since I've been able to have a laugh at his expense. But I'll keep an eye out for Fernris."

Cassandra pulled back a little confused, hair color and eye color reflecting this."What...but....now? So soon?" Her hands caressed the sides of his face, holding it. She seemed to tremble a bit.

"Of...ofcourse I will, you idiot! You've always been mine. I'm not going to let anyone else raise you."

She took a few deep breathes."So...will you...just become a baby here?"

Crystalion had just finished getting dressed after freshening up when she heard someone at the door. She was wearing a simple outfit. Jeans and a black turtleneck. It's been a while since she'd been able to wear one of those.
Making her way over to the door, she wondered who it was. Definitely not who she thought it would be. Not that she had anyone specific in mind.

"Oh...Trinity! Didn't expect to see you."Crystalion said visibly surprised. But her response quickly changed into something much more familiar and kinder. " If you're looking for Leo, I think he and Dawn actually went out to find you."

Alec nodded and walked with Kerana until they came across Leo and Dawn. The siblings gave their deepest thanks, and the four of them exchanged pleasantries. Leo and Dawn left to go get something to eat as Alec and Kerana made their way to Lokelonni's room. Alec rapped politely on the door. After a few seconds, Lokelonni answered the door. Kerana's mother was nowhere to be seen.

"Ah. Thank you for coming back so soon. Alec, I need to talk with Kerana alone regarding what we discussed earlier. Plus, I believe you have a job to do."

"I don't think so. My morning is pretty much free."

"Alec, you know what I mean. You feel it, don't you. The need to return. To do what must be done."

Alec held his breath for a moment. He couldn't deny that what Lokelonni said was true. He nervously looked from Kerana back to Lokelonni. "I...I'm afraid. Time there, it...I don't know if-"

Lokelonni put a finger to Alec's lips and hushed him gently, "Shush now. You can, and you will. Go to his library and research simulacrums. The sooner you learn, the sooner you can return. The longer you hesitate here the harder it will be to leave."

Alec's hands wrung together and he pivoted to face Kerana. "I-I have to go back. To the realm of death. There are souls in purgatory waiting to be ferried to their final destination. I shouldn't be gone long...not here at least."

He took her hands into his, looked into her eyes with his glistening ones, and promised, "I'll come back to you as soon as I can. It shouldn't be more than a few hours at most."

Heron blinked and considered Legio's words for a moment. "I don't quite understand, but I suppose my comprehension is unnecessary in this case. I'm supposed to provide you with whatever's in my power to do. If you need to learn how to eat, than I can do that. This underground fortress has provisions here, or would you prefer to go to surface level?"

Deora blushed lightly and replied, "Thank you, but I should really go back to my own bed. Besides, it's the first day for you and Heather as a couple. I'm sure you have plans."

Deora had actually known exactly when they sealed the deal. Her connection to Heather gave her a taste of what her draconic counterpart was experiencing. It took a cold shower and a great deal of concentration to separate the connection long enough to calm down.

Heather blushed and looked to Liv. "That's right! We're together, and nothing is trying to kill us today. We can do whatever we want!"

Damien had never seen Cassandra worked up enough to tremble. The whole situation was hitting her a lot more than Damien had expected. He felt a strange sensation from his stomach, chest, throat, and eyes. His eyes especially felt odd. He reached a hand to his face and found that he was leaking. Were these tears? Is this what it meant to have a soul?

He turned his attention back to Cassandra and replied, "I already have. What's in front of you is the last of my mental powers projecting a tangible construct. I'm asleep on the bed behind you, swaddled in a blanket. When you're ready, turn around."

He smiled genuinely, for the first and last time in that body, and said, "I can't wait to meet you for the first time, again."

Theresa smiled brightly and agreed, "That sounds like so much fun! Now that I can actually feel happiness I'd love to laugh at his expense. I don't know what an expense is, but I love laughing. Can we go now, please?"

Making her way over to the door, she wondered who it was. Definitely not who she thought it would be. Not that she had anyone specific in mind.

"Oh...Trinity! Didn't expect to see you."Crystalion said visibly surprised. But her response quickly changed into something much more familiar and kinder. " If you're looking for Leo, I think he and Dawn actually went out to find you."

Trinity rubbed the back of her head, “Sorry to drop by unexpected. Actually, I’m looking for you, to talk about them, Dawn to be more specific. I could use some advise and I don’t know who else to turn to. May I come in?” Crystalion invited her in and she sat on the couch. Trinity took a deep breath “You were there when it happened … Dawn hugged her father she missed. Leo watched me break up with his father then and there.“

“Despite what that looked like, I had already made up my mind to break up with him before I knew of her existence. I was hoping to do that after we had delt with the upcoming attack with Daedalus to not have Theonis distracted with the drama this would cause. To spend a last night with him, maybe give him the chance to have him talk me out of it… I don’t know.”

“Regardless, just seeing Dawn hugging him, calling him ‘daddy’, she’s a spinning image of you, it was no denying who’s daughter she is. It was the very thing I had been dreading and his future daughter, only confirmed the inevitable. Even after having a son with him I was just still in the way of his true happiness so that’s what brought me to my breaking point of breaking up with him then in there.”

“Dawn must think it’s her fault entirely and can’t blame her for thinking this. Yet the plan was already there to begin with. Her actions only hastened that plan.” She closed her eyes and sighed to herself pinching her nose in the process. “I’m guessing why she’s looking for me with my son is that she wants to appologize, to make things right. Yet, that’s where I’m conflicted.” She sits up and opens one hand, “Part of me wants to merely accept the apology so that she and Leo can continue to adapt without conflict.” She opens the other, “Yet I feel like I can’t truly accept it because I still see her as evidence of the inevitable and dismissing that and keeping my feelings bottled up regarding that would be difficult.”

“ I don’t want to hurt her but if I were to accept her apology it would be a lie I know I cannot maintain. Not sure how to approach this when she does see me. I’m afraid I’ll end up saying something bluntly then it not only compromises my relationship with her but also my relationship with my son.”

She sighs to herself, “So here I am. Any thoughts on how to handle this?” Trinity looks to Crystalion. She hoped she has become less flirty/immature in her current age than her counterpart and lean into her more motherly nature. Hopefully it wasn’t a mistake to come to her for advice.
