The Widget avatar on the desktop displayed a teardrop emote to signify embarrassment. "Ah, right. Of course. Silly me."

There was a moment of buffering, and the two windows played in tandem.

"This is Gidget Morris translating the vocal recording of Doctor Albrecht Keller, who is operating pathological apparatuses one through six, as he performs an autopsy on...well, the grim reaper, Crosis. From this point, my word's will be the doctor's. "

The video was fairly uneventful for anyone familiar with the procedures. at least a dozen vials of blood with different colored tops were filled from the sill pumping veins of the "dead" Ancient.

"I will now extract the meteor from the subject's chest. It's, harder to remove than I had imagined. There we are. Amazing seems the vasculature that would be necessary for a heart to function formed around the meteor. Fragment weighs...four point two six kilos. The the largest I've seen, but by no means small. I will now continue to the internal examination, starting with the 'Y' incision."

The incision is made, and the machines removes the ribcage to allow visualization of the chest. "Fascinating. It seems this...Ancient has identical anatomy to that of us homo sapiens. It also looks like the vascular system has ceased functioning. Most likely due to the removal of the meteor that had been serving as his heart. Well, I suppose it is now well and truly dead. The organs are as decrepit as the muscular skeletal system and dermas. I will now begin extra...the subject's core temperature has begun to rapidly decline. Odd. Wait. What is this? What is happening?"

The headless body on the table rapidly aged and fell apart until it eventually turned to dust. All in a matter of seconds.

"Well...it seems Miss Morris made the right decision to have me operate from a separate room. There is no telling what might happen to me if I inhaled any of that. Damn. There was still so much to learn. At least we have blood and tissue samples. Damn. Damn damn damn. This is Doctor Albrecht Keller, chief pathologist for the EDC, signing off."

There was a moment of silence before Gidget uttered, "Damnit."

Widget's avatar rolled onto the screen and chirped, "That concludes the recordings. Is there anything else you'd like to see?"

There was a buzz on Theonis' desk, and the voice of Theonis' assistant squawked through the speaker. "Mister Richards. There's a Rydia Crescent here who'd like to speak with you."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather crept the door open and peeked her head inside. She looked from the cougar to live and back to the cougar. "That...actually sounds kinda awesome."
She cautiously approached the big cat while the cougar kept it's eyes on Heather. She winced, reached out, and placed her right hand on it's head. It did nothing. She opened her eyes fully and looked at the beast like a kid who just got to pet their first, well, pet. "Who's the big pretty predator? Is it you? I think it is? You're the big beautiful kitty." The cougar actually began to purr as Heather continued with her baby talk. A moment later it began to lean into her rubs.
Heather gasped, giggled, and then smiled at Liv. "It purrs like a house cat! This is so cool! You've gotta get in on this action!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"You mean Wonder Woman? Well don't that beat all? My girl's the Kindergarten teacher, and sometimes Cassandra helps with the kids. Says she's 'bout the sweetest thing that'll crush a tank like a coke can. Never met her m'self, but I've heard nothin' but good things 'bout her. Though I also hear I wouldn't wanna be on the wrong side of her temper, if'n you know what I mean."

It kept his form together? Even in that timeline it seems the effect was the same. He remembered when he ripped it out of him Same thing happened to Crosis. Results of analysis of those samples could be interesting. If he could understand any of it. It definitely wasn't his forte.

He was about to request the results of those samples before his assistant contacted him.

Rydia? Right, her.

"Send her in." He swiped away the images and recordings. "We'll finish this another time Widget."

Theo waited for his guest to enter.

Liv couldn't help but smile as Heather's joy and had to pet the cougar herself. She had seen video's of them before but never actually touched one. This Beast Master power would actually let her walk with Lions or swim with Dolphins if she wanted to. Not something she had given a lot of thought before.

"I've heard Cheetah's purr as well. Like the big cats that can't roar...purr or something like that." She smiled.

"But....we can't keep it. That's for sure.She'd needs to take this kitty back to where it belongs."

"Ah yes, I know what you mean.I believe she was with the children during the assault. Safest place for the children to be What was the expression. A mama bear?"

Rydia entered Theonis' office wearing attire that was surprisingly common for someone of royal blood. A loose fitting long sleeve T that had the word "princess" printed on it, sweat pants, and fuzzy gray slippers. Her eyes were still slightly puffy from crying.

"Hello Theonis. Thanks for seeing me." she groaned. "I'm sorry to bother you. No doubt you're very busy, but I was hoping you could help me. My home lies at the bottom of the Sargasso sea. Since knowledge of it's fall was broadcast, it will no doubt be a prime target for scavengers and grave robbers. I'd like Valhalla's help to keep that from happening more than it probably already has."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather pouted and playfully whined, "Aww. But it...hold on."
Heather took a few sniffs of the air around the cougar and corrected herself. "He just got here. Maybe I could look after him for a little bit while you find Fenris. I'm sure he wont try to eat me anymore."
She turned her head to face the cougar, locked eyes with him, and flashed her own set of fangs. "You'll be good, right boy?" she said with a forewarning tone and a toothy smile. The cougar's ears dropped submissively and it actually nodded. Heather turned to Liv with a pleasantly surprised smile.
"Look at that! Looks like you're not the only one in this room that can talk to animals."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Yep, you got it. 'tween her and Willa, wasn't nothin' gonna hurt them kids. Now that I think 'bout it, I think she's s'posed to be with the kids today. I was gonna say hi to Willa while I was on break. Why don'tcha come along an' say hi to yer kin?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 15, 2023 6:54 am
She has certainly seen better days.

"First, I am sorry for your loss. Second, I've just been over some data related to that. I was debating on doing that but it shouldn't be a debate. It would be pillaged by others if we don't. I'll talk to some people, see what we can do. What's the point of having aquatic meta's and not give them the chance to shine?"

"I am not sure if that is so much as talking to as it is threatening them." She responded.

"Now how the hell do I find her...." Liv mumbled to herself as she left.

Legio searched the compound with his mind.

"She isn't there. She is with Damian at the moment in her room." Legio responded. "But I-" He was interrupted by his own yawn. He seemed a bit confused.

"I apologize today has been....interesting. I would like to retire to my....place."

Rydia exhaled with relief. "Thank you. You've taken a great weight off of my mind. The only thing I ask is that I be in contact with the team you assemble. There's one particularly sensitive bit of technology that has, let's say, robust security measures. The only person that can safely access it now is me. I think it'll be very useful in five months."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Oh!" Heather exclaimed shortly after she heard Liv ask the question. She called out, "Last night Deora said something about Rydia's grandmother being here. Maybe the wolf is with her?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mark looked quizzically at Liam and asked, "Seriously? Ain't even supper time yet, or maybe wolfy's slap knocked a few bulbs loose. Eh, whatever. If'n you change yer mind about throwin' back a few, hit me up once you've got yer phone. Show you how we have a good time down south. Later."

Mark waved, then strode off confidently while he whistled "The Year of Jubilo."

"Hey kid, I toldja, tree and yeh done! Dose bags don't grow on trees, and dey ain't cheap! If yeh can't get a grip, den get lost and get help!"

"No! I'm not done! Just get me something stronger! There has to be something stronger, or maybe someone stronger! I need this."

The attendant sighed and shook his head. "Look kid, I feel for ya, I really do. You an' all de othah futah kids. But 'dis ain't gonna help. Yeh need ta talk to a shrink or somethin'."

"I don't need to talk! I need to break something!" Leo shouted. His shadow began to ripple as his anger built up to a boiling point.

Silhouette stirred within Trinity's shadow. "Trinity, the shadows are restless. I think it's Leo."

Trinity was listening to Dawn until she heard the thud and started heading toward its source. Over the years she was trained to head toward the source of the threat while the crowds ran away from it, it became second nature to do it. Before Valhalla she’d probably be part of the crowd that would run away. She was already heading toward where Leo is when she felt a disturbance in the shadow. Silhouette confirmed it.

Her voice reached the room before she entered and put a halt on the bickering as she entered they looked to where the voice came from, the Head of Security of Valhalla, Trinity Smith. “Leo he’s right. You’ll have to week to punch another bag.”

Trinity knew this routine all too well. She had her share of dead punching bags. In her case it filled a constant need to prepare for the next fight and sometimes frustrations. At one point she had to start holding back her senseis noticed this but had so much going on to be sparing her all the time. This lead to the Gforce training room which took a while to build. But there was another option they showed her.

“Let’s try something else.” She nodded to the gym attendant letting him know she’s got this. She dropped her green trench cloak which dropped to the floor with weight revealing her well toned arms and a better view of her abs.“Have you thought about using your shadow? You can create a doppelgänger and have at it.” As she spoke her shadow shifted into a shadow clone of her. She demonstrated as she spoke, “They know every move you know. You’re goal is to find your weaknesses, hit them hard in the process learn something new. You can have them simply react to what you’re doing, counter, have them attack and work on your defenses or a combination which feels like a true fight against yourself. When you’re done you disperse it.” She kicked her shadow against the wall and it dispersed to a mist back into her normal shadow. The last move she’d admit was an attempt to impress him. “Got it? Now let’s see you give it a try.”

As much as she was certain Leo could handle the Gforce training she wanted him to get to a better place first. In a sense it would feel like sending him back to the high stress situation he escaped in the previous timeline. He needed time to adjust to things here on a normal level.

Bingo. That has to be that ship he just saw.

"Well if it is what I think it is, then yes that would be quite useful." He replied.

There was a small pause.

"How are you holding up?"

"Her grandmother? I thought it was just her and that kid that survived? Alright I'll look around." Liv responded.

It took her a little while to narrow it down. From the Light Realm she peered into the room. She was sitting by the bed in which her mother slept. Liv felt a little bad because obviously you wouldn't do that if the other person wasn't doing too well. Regardless of that she transported herself into the room. Opposite of the bed.

"You need to return your little present." She said at a softer voice than she originally intended. After all...someone was sleeping. It was then that she saw the woman up close. She looked familiar. Like Liv had seen her before.

"Wait she....was she inside of the crystal?"

Leo lost a lot of the wind from his sails when he heard Trinity use her "command" voice to get his attention. When she dropped her coat and displayed her body, it made a bit uncomfortable. He was slim, sure, but there was not really time to develop musculature when you are fighting for your life. That and he was still recovering from being malnourished.

He watched and listened. Seeing the shadow clone brought back repressed memories of when he was stuck in the shadow realm as a kid. Trinity's wasn't so bad, though. In fact, it actually reminded him of the one shadow monster in that hell void that did not frighten him. He wondered why that was.

He was afraid to even attempt what she had displayed, but she was putting the time in to help him and so he did not want to disappoint her. He Looked down at his shadow and envisioned an what he thought of as a familiar opponent that would know all of his moves. Unfortunately, for someone who spent most of his lift running and fighting unspeakable horrors, that meant something incredibly deadly.

The upper half shadow took the shape of something that he hoped never to see again. He and the other called them Mirrors. A Mirror was a bio-beast that copied the actions of it's target, but with much more dangerous limbs. It only did that, though, when it wasn't immediately trying to rip your face off. It's head was that of a twisted humanoid skull that protruded unnaturally from it's "neck." It's arms were disproportioned and had longer forearms with hands that were mostly just talons. The lower half of the shadow's body was what he recalled when he saw the shadow monsters as a kid.

Anyone in the gym that saw the thing immediately ran. Leo, though, stood his ground. Leo's pupils dilated, and his muscles tensed. He could feel his pulse in his temples. He surrounded his fists with pressurized air and readied himself for a fight, "Come on!" he snarled.

The Mirror, however, acted like it's otherworld counterpart would. It was made to distract and delay the strongest of threats. It's shadowy bones snapped and cracked as it turned it's attention to Trinity. "Wait, no! What're you doing?! I'm right here!" Leo insisted. Some of the shadow's peeled back from it's "lips" and reformed into a mouth that was nothing but long, jagged teeth.

"It's a bio-beast. Different from the one's I saw as a child, but I could never forget them. Trinity, the boy has no control over that thing. It's going to behave just like he imagined it would. Still, it is forged from shadows. Remember what I showed you last night. Exert your will over his construct with your shadows, and disperse it."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rydia rubbed her left, upper arm with her right hand and looked toward the floor. "I'm, not sure. One moment I think I have no more tears to shed, and the next I'm unable to will myself out of bed. Deora suggested I wear something more comfortable for what I am feeling. I'll admit, as drab as this attire is, I cannot deny it is rather comfortable."
"It certainly doesn't help that I embarrassed myself greatly last night when I attempted to bed Alexavier. My behavior was unbecoming of my upbringing, and so I left unsatisfied and depressed. Also, I believe I'm nearing my yearly estrus cycle, so that is also playing havoc with my emotions as well."
She looked back up at Theonis and took a good look at his suit and how he wore it. "You know, I've heard whispers that you and Trinity are no longer together. I don't suppose you'd reconsider my offer for sex?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fenris glanced up at Liv and said in a calm tone, "It's okay. You can talk at a normal volume. She wont wake up for a bit. Must've tired herself out earlier with the kitsune. I'll get Franky out of Ryuko's bathroom as soon as I leave here."

She looked back down at her mother and sighed, "Yeah. Eclipse had taken her from the island to use the crystal in a machine. We freed her yesterday. The future you was there. I should thank her when I've got a chance. Although, I need to thank you too for doing what you could to help my people. Rydia told me how you two fought Eclipse. That took guts. Thank you, Liv."

She placed her hand on Lokelonni's. She remembered how her mother's hand used to wrap around Freya and Okami's hands when they were small. "When was the last time you saw your mom? If she's still alive, I mean. Sorry, I shouldn't assume."

Trinity didn’t flinch as the shadow beast formed before her. The way she reacted by taking a defensive stance seemed like it’s part of her daily routine or that she was half expecting that something like this could happen.

Trinity listened to Sill even though she was already in the process. Her shadow started crawling up the shadow beast. “My, what big teeth you have.” She punched causing another part of her shadow thrusts itself down its throat. As soon as she felt enough of her shadow was in it she started exerting her will, her green eyes glowing in the process. Its action was interrupted and it dispersed. “You okay Leo? Dawn?” The glow in her eyes faded.

As soon as they answered she felt relieved. She had never seen anything like it “What was that thing?” The closest thing she could think of was the shadow meta-core that she and Okami battled.

After Leo answered she rubbed the back of her head and said, “I guess you’re not ready for that technique huh?” She started to wonder if she needed to do a mind meld with him to help him control the shadow part of his power. That is if he were willing to go to the Shadow Realm with her.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 21, 2023 3:10 pm
Leo watched silently as Trinity destroyed the creature he'd forged like it was a simple chore. When Trinity asked if he was okay, it only then occurred to him that Dawn was in close proximity to him. He turned toward her and immediately felt the heat of her gaze.

"Leo! Why would you make that?! Of all the things you could make, it had to be one of the those!"

"Dawn, I-"

She hugged her arms and shook her head. "Don't." she interrupted. "Just don't."

She looked to Trinity and replied, "I'm fine. I'd just hoped never to see a bio-beast again. Guess that was a silly dream."

Leo hung his head in shame and said, "I'm okay too."

"That was a bio-beast. Well, the upper half of it at least. A type we called Mirrors. They mimic the movements of it's prey, but not it's power. That didn't make them any less deadly. The bottom half of it...I think it was one of those things I saw when I was a kid. In the shadow realm."

"This! This is why you should've listen to Dad when he told you to get back in there and learn how to use your mom's power right!"

"You weren't there, Dawn! You don't know what's hiding in there! What I saw!"

"Intriguing. The denizens of the shadow realm shouldn't have done so much as approach him since he's of your, well, a Trinity's blood. Something else must've happened. Something must've changed in the shadows of his world. Either way you're correct, Trinity. He isn't ready to make constructs. Not while he's still so afraid."

Trinity looked distant for a moment as she addressed Silhouette Sil, I don't think everyone in my bloodline had the same perks as I have. Some were never fully awakened as I have been and the guys well to my knowledge according to my dad's findings that none of them displayed shadow manipulation. In his timeline, Theonis and I… I don't think our predecessors had a relationship with a meta-human. So… here we are… Leo, would be the first in the line of two meta-humans. Awakened and not a clue of how to use one of his gifts.

Also, why is it that neither I nor my ancestor ran into these denizens? Whenever I’m in the Shadow Realm I’m alone unless I bring someone with me.

Then Leo and Dawn lashed out at each other regarding Leo not learning his shadow capabilities. “Hey… from what I could gather he did not have a formal teacher and your dad as brilliant as he was couldn’t teach it for he couldn’t wield shadows. The good news is you’re in this timeline, you may have 3 teachers here. That definitely includes me. I’m willing to teach you about it when you are ready to try."

"I admit I too was afraid of the Shadow Realm at first for fear of not getting back out of it. To be trapped in eternal darkness. Once I understood what it was, I embraced it. I was able to embrace the darkness and instill fear against my enemies."

"The denizens there don’t come near me for some reason. That’s probably what you saw when you went down there. I myself have not seen them yet only heard about them from others who have been there.”

She noticed Leo’s frustration. “Alright, enough of that talk. How about a spar? No powers. We can go for 3 rounds. If I win I’ll show you something else, not shadow related. If you win we keep going until you get whatever it is out of your system.”

"Your ancestor was left alone because I commanded them to remain hidden from her. You see, when something alive is brought into the shadow realm that isn't supposed to be there they naturally die. However, the body remains; then is assimilated and given life by the shadows. They are the Twilight Dead, the denizens of the shadow realm. It's how I was able to raise armies of shadows in ages past. Any shadow creature, beast, or monster in mythology was something I created."

"They've left you alone because you, and the Trinity I marked in the 2nd age, are the same to them. However, for them to approach, let alone threaten, Leo means that I was either dead, or something was brought into the shadow realm that could not be killed or controlled."

Leo hesitated for a moment. He'd heard stories about how deadly his mother could be in close quarters combat. He was never given the chance for proper training. Not when energy had to be conserved for whatever might happen.

"I don't really know how to fight like you do."

"That's why she's here, Leo. To teach you, and to do something with your temper."

"My what?!"

"Don't play dumb. Ever since the fighting's stopped you get as mean and angry as Ravan on her worst days."

Leo considered what Dawn said. Ravan was always angry. It could be a little or a lot, but she was never really happy. He didn't want to end up that way.

"Okay. I'll try. I can't really promise no shadows, though. It kind of has a mind of it's own."

"Oh?" Sill commented with curiosity.

Leo put his hands up and bent his knees. He cocked his right arm back and threw a sloppy haymaker.

Theo raised an eyebrow. Alexavier? Not one that he saw coming.

He cleared his throat.

"It's uh. bit more complicated than that. Currently it would feel weird because you're not in the right state of mind. But eh....I'll keep it in mind. No promises. But there are plenty of others out there besides me and Alexavier."

"Franky already is. Currently being cuddled by Heather. You sent it up against a Dragon." She responded.

She listened to Fenris thank her

She sighed."You're making it really ******** hard to stay mad right now, you know that?"

"It's...been literal decades. After the incident after the first meteor showers, she couldn't handle it anymore and divorced dad. I think she's still out there somewhere." Liv took a chair or would have made one from hard light if there wasn't one and sat down.

"He's a sweetheart. Raising a daughter as a single dad wasn't easy. Especially if that daughter is...well...me. I didn't make it easy one him. Try containing a stubborn teenager that can teleport. But I talk to him every now and then. I made enough to make sure he can have it easy. I mean I don't pay for everything but I send him a little extra every month. He told me he's dating again, Can you believe it? At that age?" Liv said and got more talkative as went on.

"Ah...sorry. Started rambling."

Legio entered his new 'home'. He took a deep breath as he looked around. It was bare besides the standard furniture. The new human took a stroll though it all. Taking in how it all looked. The scent, how the table felt, the softness of the bed sheets. Before he had never taken the time to do so. The day was a bit rushed. But now he had time to take it all in. All the small sensations people took for granted. Being alone here allowed him to do so. Closing his eyes he just breathed and fully felt the air entering his lungs. From there on he truly became aware of himself.

He laid down onto his bed and just laid there for a while.

Rydia huffed a disappointed chuckle, "So I have been told. I suppose someone else will catch my eye eventually. It would be nice to actively indulge this year with a single partner and without restriction."

She visually hesitated as she thought about explaining exactly what to expect. Her father had gone to great lengths to keep the general public safe from her advances. She hated it while the week went on, but she understood why it had to happen.

"While I'm tempted to go dive into my base desires with reckless abandon, I feel it would be better if I warned you ahead of time. During my cycle I can be, to put it bluntly, aggressively passionate. Father would triple my security detail, and I'd be bound to quarters until it passed. I'm not sure how liberal the citizenry of Valhalla are about sex, but if the last few days are any indication I should have my powers nullified and be quarantined." Rydia clinically explained.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fenris listened and smiled as Liv reminisced about her father. "Don't worry about it. It's good to share. It's even better if it comes easily. s**t. Maybe I should take my own advice."
She rested an elbow on her knee and rested her head on her hand. Her eyes turned toward Liv. "I don't admit I'm wrong often, so don't get used to it. I was a bit...heavy handed with how much I hazed you and Heather. My dad used to tell me how I really only have two settings. Slow and crazy. A drunken existential breakdown put me in a crazy mood. For a moment I forgot that you kids aren't Trinity."
"But, I wouldn't be a very good teacher if I didn't at least give you a little homework. At some point today, I want you to give your dad a call. No doubt he heard what happened yesterday on the news. He's probably worried sick about you. Even if you called him yesterday, just ring him up and see how he's doing."
Fenris looked back down at her mother and sighed. "In the next five months, it'll be vital to remember who and what we're fighting for. Hang on to what's the most important to you, and that'll give you the strength to reach new heights."
Fenris paused for a moment and took a more jovial tone. "Franky had a big meal before I hid him in the shower. He should be good for the rest of the day if Heather wants to play with him a bit more. If not I'll be there in a few minutes to take him home. Oh, since I'm trying to be nice, I hid pneumatic pistons under the bed that'll activate when two people get on it. It was supposed to launch you two across the room like a catapult. There's a switch that'll disable them."
"You can go back to being mad at me now."
She said with a wink and a smirk.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

While Liv was talking with Fenris, Heather had allowed herself to bring her dragon out so she could safely rough house with the big cat. She kept her wings folded while they wrestled. It felt good to kndulge her more animalistic tendancies. She did her best to keep it at a minimum with Liv. She knew she didn't have to, but it was going to be a hard habit to break.

"Ah, you almost got me there! But I wont go down so easy!"

"Rowr"

"That doesn't matter. You've never taken on a dragon."

Heather finally managed to pin him down and chomped down on his scruff. He grumbled in defeat.

"A'righ'. 'ow ya haffa shay i'."

She let go and put her snout next to his ear.

"Who's the biggest, softest, bestest kitty of them all?" she said sweetly

"...Mowr."

"That's right! And the biggest, softest, bestest kitty gets awesome dragon scritches." she sang.

She used her claws to carefully scratch his sweet spots. He purred and happily leaned into it. Heather proceeded to sing a silly improvised song about him being the legendary bathroom cougar.

The leaves spun around Kerana again, and the winds brushed by her like a gentle kiss, before they settled into the natural air currents of the park.

Ilex was curled forward with her head rested upon the grass. Her fingers curled and tore at the soil as her shoulders trembled. Sniffles and sobs could be heard occasionally.

"Bastards. Avaricious, short sighted, vile, bastards." She hissed quietly between sobs. Her small hands balled into fist that contained clumps of soil and blades of grass. "I knew it. I knew it!" she wept at an almost inaudible volume.

As the leaves kissed her cheek she was kind off startled awake. She blinked a couple of times then focused on what she was hearing. Her ears lowered with concern for Ilex. Quietly she approached her, and considering that she was once Mother Nature per say she had a pretty good sense of what this could be about. “It’s humans… isn’t it? Absorbing all these resources and in return, pollution.”

Even as a human Kerana always felt she didn’t do enough to resolve how much damage had been done. She ran a few recycle run campaigns and trips to clean the shores of the rivers. All though people were impressed with her efforts in encouraging her fellow students to help, the problem was so huge it never felt like she did enough. Every good she did was replaced by actions of one that did not care or think about it.

“Just frustrating isn’t it. You give so much and all, all they do is take.”
