More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Gidget is about to reply when she gets a reminder on her HUD about missed messages. "Oh hold on, it looks like I missed a few calls."

She starts to observe the texts sequentially from the first one missed to the last. If she could lose the color in her face it would be gone. She starts to go into a mental panic, the rush of emotions causing some of her functions to glitch. Her voice changes to sound like her younger self on again and off again, her ears actually begin to produce exhaust, and her eyes dart around in a mad panic.

"Oh God, oh n-n-n-n-n-no, O-oh what did I d-d-d-do?"

"What is it?" Annie demanded. Her voice softening as she placed a hand on Gidget's shoulder, "Calm down. We can sort it out together, okay? Whatever is going on, I'm in on helping out."

Deora felt the same way, but the reason she hadn't been to a theater was different. She would have explained to Justine, but she was tired of repeating her depressing former situation. "Are you sure about that?" She asked in response to Justine's thoughts on rejoining the force. "People like me and the other metas could use someone with a real sense of justice in the police. Someone on the inside helping us, you know?"

The creature hobbles toward the viewing window among the flames licking the observation room, changing it's right arm to resemble a large pike.

Gidget's functions right themselves as she looks at Annie, "Earlier when I went to visit Shane, he broke off a piece of himself. It made it through the vents and attacked Trinity. We thought we had killed it, but not without some suspicion."

The intense heat is causing the window the crack and bubble. It looks into the room, seeing the shape of the creator. Shane had covered himself with layers of blankets again. Good. It rears it's arm back.

"One of our security officers disappeared, According to this message from Trinity she suspected that a student may have also been consumed. That student was just sighted in front of the last door to Shane's cell"

With an inhuman cry it lunges it's arm forward at the center of the glass. The arm pike makes it through barely, but the glass does not shatter. It retracts it's arm and allows some of the gas from within the cell to enter the observation room. The moment the fire comes in contact with the gas it ignites. Shane's cell explodes in a fiery blaze. The flames travel up through the vents to the vaporizers. They burst under the intense heat. The glass that had until now barely hung on, bursts in large chunks. Pieces of reinforced glass fly into the observation room, the explosion there causing the flames within it to be engulfed and extinguished.

The creature is thrown through the manic door and slides toward the elevator at the five girls. The door had clipped off it's torso and one of it's arms. It lays there stunned.

The emergency lights in Valhalla kick in. For the second time today the klaxon goes off. This time there is an automated message ordering everyone except security to evacuate. Gidget looks up at Annie, her eyes wild with terror, "He's out."

Shane throws the flaming blankets off of his body. His entire body is charred and blistered, parts of his face practically melted. He reminds himself to thank the machine for giving him flame retardant blankets. He looks down at the lower half of the creature and leaps at it. Within seconds the remains are consumed, and Shane heals.

The three girls stood in silence in the elevator. Jezebel sniffed as she wiped the blood away on her sleeve.

Liadan shuddered as she watched the life force of Alec drop, then die. The woman who pushed them inside seemed to be okay as well, strangely enough, as well as a third being, her guess was Shane, seemed to be damaged, but then healed as soon as Alec dropped off her radar. After a few moments, she shakily reached for the open door button.

"Hiii, Amanda. I'm Liv. Oh those clothes fit you like a glove. Looking good girl." Liv said happily. She wasn't shy on complimenting people. She wasn't shy at about anything.
"Ah yes, I like sunlight. Must be because of my power." Liv demonstrated as she began to shine briefly. Not too bright since she didn't want to blind anyone." Lots of light would be nice" She said as she 'powered down'

"Say..between you and me" The girl leaned of the desk." There any hoties around here?" She said with a girlish giggle.

Amanda thanked Liv for the compliment. As Liv leaned close she did too, "I guess you haven't run into many of our metas yet... Trust me there's plenty of hoties to go around. Heh heh one may say there are so many, that Valhalla is on fire xd : I find there are quite a few gems among security, I've had my eye on, his name is North and he's a pyro meta" she sighed as she thought of him. "Here's a picture of him." she said as she showed Liv a photo of him when he made employee of the month, it was posted on the Valhalla intranet. She felt a bit flushed and had to fan herself a bit,"Is it hot in here or is it just me?" Then the alarm went off requesting everyone except security. "Wow this must have been more serious than the earlier one. Here are the forms I gotta get to check on the agents. Stick with us if you'd like or follow everyone else out there, just remain calm."

She looked at North and Amanda was quite right about him. He was smoking hot. Oh the irony about his powers.She wouldn't mind having Pyrokineses. She also liked the fact that she found someone to talk to about these things.
Liv left the papers on the desk."I think I'll stick with you. Don't know my way around here yet." She said as she followed her."I do think....that this place actually is on fire somewhere. This heat certainly isn't normal" Liv readjusted her tie and undid 2 buttons on her blouse.

The creature rouses from it's stupor and reaches out toward the girls in the elevator. What's left of it's body is still covered in the black carapace, making it unrecognizable as a human. It feels a need to consume the girls, and give more biomass to the creator.

Suddenly it begins to convulse. A bulge begins to form between it's shoulder and neck. As it gets larger the carapace starts to split. Black hair starts to emerge from the splits, then skin. Finally, Alec's face looks up at them, then specifically to Kerana. He opens his mouth, black biomass dripping out of it.

His voice comes out cracked and unnatural. "Kerana...I'm sorry...I couldn't....ack...run...you have to run..."

Justine paused. "I don't know if that's the best way for me to help our kind." She shrugged somewhat. "One cop can't do anything... But maybe if I could climbs the ranks... Even then, after a while, they were start suspecting me. They all know that I've come in contact with the Meteor." She shook her head. "No. I don't think it'll be the most helpful... however, if I went back and got the proper schooling... If we could get a DA that was Pro-Meta, well.. I could do much more for all of us if I could get into that kind of position."

"Hmm. I guess that makes sense." Angel smiled as she looked around at the different machines on the tables around them. "I wonder what most of these do." She laughed softly as she looked at the closet one to her.

Theonis noticed how it was getting warmer in the room. And he knew that it wasn't imagining things.
Suddenly the alarm went off.
"Ahhh s**t...can't I have a normal day? Angel! I think we need to get out of here! It's getting way too hot here plus the alarm. I don't think it's safe to stay here"

Annie stared at Gidget wide eyed, as she comprehended what Gidget said and her last words, "He's out." If, Shane was capable of killing all those people before what would an enraged Shane be capable of now.

"Right, I'm going to go stop him!" Annie called, sprinting to the elevator and pounding on the button. Three seconds later she swore, "This is taking too long!"

In an instant, where Annie stood was now a pile of clothes and a puddle slipping down the elevator shaft to where Shane's corridor was. Dripping into the open elevator, Annie rematerialized, ready for battle as she faced the biomass that was Shane. "Shane, how good to see you," Annie said smiling, guessing that the biomass was him, who else could it be?

Alec's face contorts in agony as he shouts, "Don't touch me...this thing...has me...I'm already dead...run...you have to run...before I lose it..."

Alec looks up at Annie as she appears and pleads, his voice losing it's vigor as he feels his consciousness fade, "Save them...please...it's not their fault..."

Annie nodded at Alec's last words, saving the kids was what she planned on doing. Saving everyone was what she planned on doing. If she had to melt Shane's innards herself, she was ready to do so- or at least preparing herself to be ready to do so.

"Shane," Annie called again, fully materializing, not caring she left her clothes at the top of the elevator shaft. "Why don't you face me like the man I know you are instead of the insufferable blob you are playing at. I get that you've been made a monster but you don't have to look like one."

Annie smirked, "You know me, I can take down a monster no problem. Another human, not so easy for me." Annie's taunting had a point, maybe if she could calm Shane, she could recapture him or maybe convince him of his senses. Annie still had hope for him, despite the evil that Shane had committed. Call it stupidity or call it love or call it what you may but Annie still had some hope for Shane.
