Yeah, that's why it is considered to be one of the hardest to learn. Impatience kicks in.

Nova then noticed the movement in the water."Ah, motion. I suppose that is one way. A bit unusual but it seems to work for you. Common rules don't seem to apply to you anyway." Nova replied" Try something similar"

Common rules seem to apply to Trinity more than what Nova thought when it came to learning this element. When she gave up she was releasing her frustration and a sense of relief and peace came upon her. She thought about it as she tried to do what Nova instructed. She took a stance and did a wavy motion and low and behold waves.

Nova smiled broadly. " Excellent! You learn faster than most on that University. Then again I don't make you through the theories and formulas."

"Okay, once you feel that you have that motion under control try and see if you can increase your control by creating multiple spots"

She continued to fluent movement then spreads her fingers and rises up her arms causing what she had pictured in her head 3 balls of water to form and raise above the bath. They weren't perfect spheres she needed to have more refined control for that so they were more like 3 amoeba looking shapes. "How's that?"

"Fast learner. Not perfect but you're getting there. It's not that hard when you know what to do right?" Nova responded. " Go on, play with it a little bit. See what you can do with it."

"In some ways it's like Shadow Manipulation." she let the 3 amoebas merge into one. Then let it swirl around becoming one long snake like thing or the way Trinity thought of it a whip. Yet it wasn't thin enough to be one but it would work none the less. She let it do some crazy eights.

"Nova, I thought you were going to help me with the holy magic.
Why am I learning to use a basic element?"

Nova studied her as she continued. " The first step of mastering magic is starting at the basics. This allows the person to get a certain feel on magic. As one advances it becomes more complex yet the basics never change.This continues until you reach the greatest heights in magic. You, Trinity, have never had the basics. . You never grew in magic. They moved the goal right before your feet. You were fixed on one spot. Two technically."

"What I am trying to say is that by practicing the very basics, your overall control on magic will increase. We will not do this tonight but when I am done with you....you will have all of the basic elements on control. Then we will move on to Telekinesis and Illusion. It is a long road but I know the shortcuts"

Trinity nodded it did make sense yet she wondered. "All that is well and good but what if I have to save the world before I master the basic elements? What if the time comes and I'm not ready?"

"You will before then. And if for some reason you are not." Nova walked up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. " Remember that you are not alone."

"Right..." Trinity confirmed. Three years being alone with a prophecy and wanted posters that single her out, she couldn't help but forget that she's no longer alone. She moved the moved the manipulated water back above the tub. While doing this she noticed that the water needed to keep moving in order to manipulate it, that part seemed different than shadow manipulation. When she let go the water simply fell.

A cough left Nova. This one was rather soft compared to the normal once. Something he was grateful for.

"How you holding up so far? Do you want to try something different to change pace? Like Fire? Out of all the elements it is the easiest of them all. I am sure there is plenty of anger in you for Fire."

Kerana

"Not at all, I feel safer with you here." she said with a smile. "Besides Nova said it was okay." she got up and took her bag to the bathroom. She changed into her PJs which was a yellow lacy night gown which had a convenient hole for her tail. She yawned and stretched and plopped down on her bed. "Good night Alec" she kept them opened long enough to hear Alec's response and drifted to sleep.

Alec said barely had time to say goodnight before Kerana was asleep. He smiled as she started to snore softly. He blushed as he caught himself imagining holding her in her sleep. He also couldn't get comfortable in the bed across from her.

His desire for her was getting stronger, but Alec knew he mustn't act on it. Instead he found a middle ground. He slid out of bed and sat against the side of her bed near the foot. He drew his knees up to his chest and hugged them. His gaze drifted over to her. To him she was a fairy tale princess made reality. He drifted off to sleep dreaming of being home with her.

"How you holding up so far? Do you want to try something different to change pace? Like Fire? Out of all the elements it is the easiest of them all. I am sure there is plenty of anger in you for Fire."

"My head hurts. It took a lot of concentration to keep that water flowing. It seems if it ever stops moving, flowing in some way it won't work. Perhaps tomorrow night I may be able to handle more than one basic element. If it's all right, I'd like to call it a night." she started picking up her other clothes.  

[Nova Blancke]

"Very well. I shall let you rest for the night." Nova replied. " I believe I shall stay here and gaze at the stars. Not sure of how many times I can do that." Nova took off his robe and sat down against the tub looking at the sky. Maybe later he would write some lessons for those kids in case he wouldn't be around to teach em.

Trinity nodded and dropped through her shadow to get back to the room that she was sharing with Alejandro. She placed the clothes on the floor and let them sink into the darkness. Her hair was a little damp but she didn't care. She lay in bed and closed her eyes, drifting to sleep.
