More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Alec blushed, then both mentally and audibly laughed at the many things they could "try" together. He was about to kiss her more when footsteps came from behind Kerana. It was Deora and Rydia.

"Hey, love birds!" Greeted Deora with a pleasant smile and a wave. "Rydia told me everything. You guys are spry this morning, considering the night you had. Did you take the time to celebrate?"

Rydia grinned and nudged Deora. "Now now, Deora. There's no need to tease them whilst they bask in the afterglow of a rest well earned."

Alec gently placed Kerana down and held her hand. He knew what Deora and Rydia were getting at, but he thought he'd have a little fun at their expense. He mentally clued Kerana in on his little prank and smiled to their friends. "It was the best night's sleep I've ever had. I had a good cry, and we just held each other until we went to sleep."

Both Deora and Rydia's jaws went agape.

"You....what?"Crystalion froze up after hearing. To her it was all kinds of wrong. Even if she only wanted to help.

"I'm sorry I.....I need time to process all of that." NOW she began to drink her wine. Before it was too ******** up. You're his...'not' mother. I know you're trying to help but...this is. Don't ever do that again. I do not want the memories of his actual mother to be twisted like that."

Liam was about to interject but couldn't bring himself to interrupt the two.The two looked at him as Freya hugged Okami. Her entire demeanor right now was so far removed from what he was used to with Fenrir. Both expressed a desire to include him.

"Very well." He took a step forward and also wrapped his arms around Okami. She was indeed...fluffy and warm.

"It does help that I am the one in charge of this place and can basically overrule anything. Including mothers." He responded with a chuckle.

"So when am I going to take you flying?" He asked his mother."I promise not to drop you from too close to the ground."

"Ya know....I am not sure? I figured even she'd want a day off with all of this. Want me to find her? If I were her....I'd be...okay maybe she won't be doing that....you think she'd be at her moms? Oh s**t if she is then...she could finally 'see' her. Ya know, with her eyes working normally if I am around."

Lokelonni cleared her throat, "Ahem. As adorable as this all is, you have a responsibility to attend to today, Freya."

Freya huffed, "Oh yeah, training the kids. Can't I put that off until tomorrow. I have a lot to catch up on."

"Likewise, you will have more than enough time to catch up. Now, run along. Your lessons are starting in a few minutes. You can use my phone to make sure everyone knows to show up today. There's a team talk set up."

Freya was about to correct her mother's terminology but thought better of it.

Okami nudged Freya and whined, "Can I come too, please? I want to meet all the new friends. Mama said there's a dragon girl there."

Freya's ears twitched. "A dragon girl? That does sound interesting. Alright then. I've got your phone, Mother. Oh, here's the group chat. The chosen? Lacking originality there but, whatever."

Freya typed in a quick text, placed the phone back on Lokelonni's night stand, and looked to Liam. "What about you? Wanna tag along, or are you gonna start up on that ham you owe me?"

Another nudge from Okami.

"Us...owe us."

Clara scoffed, "Absolutely not! Um, that is to say, no thank you. I put a great deal of effort into my appearance, and I'm not going to toss that out for a flight through the clouds. I'm perfectly happy here on the ground, thank you."

Heather thought about it and replied, "I think that'd be awesome. As much of a pain in the a** as Fenris was, I adore her mom. We should-"

There was a beep on Heather's phone, and then Liv's. Heather checked her message and sighed. "I guess it'll have to wait. Now what to do about...him."

She looked to Everette for a moment as he gagged at the scent of her cat's litter bombs. Suddenly, she was struck with a brainstorm.

"Hey you. Come here when you're done with that."

Everette quickly deposited the clumps of excrement into a scent locked bin and came to Heather.

"I want you to text your partners this location." She pointed to the training room she and the others usually use for training with Fenris. "Tell them I'm willing to pay to share my side of 'the story' in their gossip column, and to be there in fifteen minutes. Now, get the Hell out of my bedroom!"

Deora and Rydia looked at each other. Without missing a beat, Rydia was the first to answer.

"I thought you two would immediately have sex after a life or death event like that...so to speak." she said with her characteristic blunt honesty.

Deora covered her face and mumbled something that sounded like "Go eye hucking bod."

"They're obviously messing with us! There's no way they did it...right?" Deora stated as she gave the side eye to Alec and Kerana.

"Who's to say?" Alec said with a grin. "A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell."

All four of their phones buzzed with Freya's message.

"That's a surprise. I suppose it's better than what she normally does." Rydia commented.

"What does she-" Deora started to ask.

"Drink. A lot. Usually until she finds a Karaoke machine to belt out rock songs from the last thirty years of the twentieth century, or until she picks fights while calling out all of her attacks."

Theresa bobbed her head from side to side as she vibed to the music that quietly played on the establishments overhead speakers. When she heard Clara vehemently deny Theonis request, Theresa giggled and teased her big brother.

"Told you she wouldn't do it. Mama Clara's not brave like us."

The drinks were brought out, and Theresa greedily snatched her apple juice from the server's hand. All it took was a look from Clara and Richard for her to shrink in her seat and gulp.

"Thank you very much. I'm sorry." she said apologetically.

She took straw from the table and was about to put it directly into the drink when she remembered that it had to be unwrapped first. After carefully removing the paper from the plastic, she plopped it into her juice and happily sipped it.

When her phone buzzed, a lady's voice spoke out. "Incoming text from...Lokelonni."

She still couldn't read, so the phone had a vocal AI assistant to ease her into learning how to use a smart phone. She was about to pick it up when Theonis' phone buzzed as well.

"Guess that answers that." Liv replied.

It seemed her girl had an idea. She did like it when she had those. She was surprisingly devious at times. Liv expected this time to be like that. Then she heard her explain to Ever-whatever his name was. Waiting for him to leave she turned to Heather.

"Oh you are bad. I like it."

Theo chuckled at her response. He'd expected that. She was never one for...surprises. His smile remained as both parents gave Tess the same glare he had gotten so many times before. It was funny to see from the other side. But he was interrupted by both of their phones going off.

It was Freya from a different number. He responded to the message and told the rest.

"Hmmm yeah makes sense. It's Freya. No training today just her wanting to get to know us and what Fenris's made us do. Told her we were having breakfast so she'll find us later in the day."

He put his phone away and took a sip of his drink.

"Anyway, appearance? 4 miles up and nobody is going to see you. Guess I'll have to catch you off-guard when we are outside."

"I believe it would be best for me to proper breakfast and look into making that ham for the two of you. A shower and new clothes would also be a good idea. These are still the robes you tore last night."

"You....what?"Crystalion froze up after hearing. To her it was all kinds of wrong. Even if she only wanted to help.

"I'm sorry I.....I need time to process all of that." NOW she began to drink her wine. Before it was too ******** up. You're his...'not' mother. I know you're trying to help but...this is. Don't ever do that again. I do not want the memories of his actual mother to be twisted like that."

“I know it seemed unconventional… but I felt it needed to be done. Especially what I've done to him in the gym the previous week. At least now it's hit him that I'm not actually his mom, just look like her. In some ways, I find it liberating. Just two consenting adults figuring things out. Which, as you could tell based on that … experience I was not what he was looking for… " she downed what was left of her glass. "So I don't think there will be a need or further lesson in that or anything of that nature. Rest assured." She looked down and rubbed the back of her head.

"There's a third thing I need to tell you that happened in that session. May be easier to talk about since it’s regarding shadow manipulation, why he wasn’t able to control it the same way I can. However, I can hold it off for another time if you prefer." She filled another half glass and swirled her glass as she spoke.

She did not receive the text from the group chat yet since she had her phone set to “Do not disturb”. She felt what she was covering with Crystallion was important.

"Yeah he's not...yet an adult. I think. We tried keeping track but...it got hazy."

"I kind of think he's into men by the way. I told Ravan I'd be rooting for her but...if I know my son and really think on it. He's into men."

She took another drink.

"No, go for it sweetie. You think 'your' shadow lives in his or something similar? Because that's what we've been saying for a while. Whatever he saw when he first sank into the shadow realm scared him badly so could be just trauma."

“Not an adult, huh? I could have sworn you had brought up that he was older than this timeline’s Theonis. Whom I know is definitely an adult. Anyways, I didn’t know and he seemed to be uncertain since he didn’t get the chance to think about it before. I didn’t want to assume his sexual orientation and so I didn’t want to assume he’d be interested in girls. Yet now that you mention it, it does make more sense. Not that a big deal or anything, I have noticed him hanging out with Theonis more than me. Plus he seemed to be quicker to be on first-name bases with him sooner. Out of curiosity, how did you know if he himself didn’t seem to know?

She listened to her answer as she filled a glass. She figured she would be able to pace herself more with what she had left to share.

“As for his power, not exactly. Allow me to explain…”

“On a different note… I’m sorry about what I said about your mom. It was out of line. I’m sure just as I am doing the best I can here I’m sure she was doing the same level of work and things turned out differently.”

"...My one memory of her is the last time I saw her.
She said something but I can't remember what.
All I can remember is she left, and we had to
leave because a large part of the city we were
in had disappeared. Crystallion told me later
that your sacrifice cut the bio-beast forces in
America by almost thirty percent, and had
taken out three legion class beasts."

His shadow quivered for a second before it settled again.

"There, it happened again." Silhouette whispered.

“Wow, heh feel like a slacker cause we only had to take down one.” she rubbed the back of her head.

She noticed the quivering shadow. “Tell me Leo, out of curiosity, last time when we were practicing shadow manipulation are you like molding kind of like clay or are you commanding it with your head like one would a pet in a sense?”

"I was trying to mold it like clay. It's not like it's alive...right?"

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out… I may need to take a better look in the Shadow Realm. Give me a moment.” She dropped into her shadow. “What is going on with his shadow?” she asked Sil.

Silhouette pointed to a denizen
that was attached to Leo the same way she was to Trinity.

"This one does not have the shade of this worlds.
It must've come through with him. That is concerning,
but not as much as this."

Silhouette spoke in a language that was a mix of hissing,
whispering, and singing. The denizen took a vaguely
human shape, and opened it's glowing eyes.

"This one has green eyes. They are supposed to be
yellow, like all denizens."

“What?” She remembered what Crystalion has said that she muttered softly out loud, “Like his mother was still protecting him… something Chrystallion mused about… she mentioned that it would protect Leo from bullets and stuff.” She looked into its eyes as it looked back at her, “You don’t think… that this is somehow other timeline me? Or maybe my ancestor?”

Sill once again spoke her secret tongue.
The denizen, while it still maintained a thread to Leo,
approached Sill. The Ancient placed her hand atop
the "head" of the denizen. Sill whispered and
caressed it's head. She then retracted her arm
and look to Trinity.

"No. Not your ancestor. Mortals loose all memories
and attachments once their soul is gone and their bodies
becomes one with the shadows. This one has no memories,
no sense of who it once was but it's attachment to Leo is
powerful. So much so that it reacts to not only danger, but
to his emotions as well."

"Very well. It's time he venture back into the
shadow realm anyway. He's feared it long enough."

“Hoo boy” she rubbed her head. “Alright.”

She emerged from Leo’s shadow. “I have answers but you need to come with me to the Shadow Realm for me to explain.” She offered her hand.

“Do you trust me?”

Leo's posture immediately became tense. "I...do."
He then held his breath and closed his eyes.

Ooo kay whatever helps to get him down there and listen. She took his hand and took him down. “Leo, you can open your eyes.”

Leo hesitated for a moment. Silhouette huffed
and commanded, "Cease your sniveling,
and open your eyes."

With a start Leo opened his eyes and looked
around. Now that he was an adult, the film
negative appearance of the shadow realm
was no longer frightening for him.

"Whoa."

His eyes settled on Silhouette, who stood beside
one of the things that had approached him when
he was a boy.

He looked to Trinity and asked, "Who's she, and
what's she doing with that?"

Silhouette harumphed and placed her hands
on her hips."‘She' is Silhouette, aspect of shadow's
tranquility. And this, my dear boy, is your
guardian shadow."

“So kind of like Sil and I, you need to learn to work with your guardian shadow to manipulate shadows in general. To in a sense develop a symbiotic connection. This may be part of why you were having trouble.”

Leo's jaw dropped. "Silhouette? The Ancient?
We had a Silhouette where I come from, but she was
a shrieking cloud monster with yellow eyes.”

Sill sighed, "Not my proudest moment. Trinity
brought me back to my senses. I stave off insanity so
long as I am tethered to her."

Leo looked to the denizen and approached it cautiously.
"So my shadow is alive."

"In a sense. This is what has been protecting
you since you first fell into the shadow realm as a boy.
While the denizens of this realm took a dislike to your
intrusion, this one kept them at bay until you could
safely leave. It has not left you since."

Sill spoke to the denizen and it floated toward Leo.
He flinched, and the creature acted in kind.

"Don't be frightened. As you've experienced, it reacts
to your emotions. It will not hurt you."

Sill spoke again, and the denizen formed and reached
out an open "hand."

Leo looked to Trinity, non-verbally asking if touching
it would be safe.

Trinity nodded. “It will not harm you.”

Leo slowly reach out on their hands were pressed against
each other. He relaxed and marveled at this he felt it,
but it didn't register as touch. It felt surprisingly warm,
but not in his hands.

The creature's "hand" disipated. It began to tremble
and make a sound that sounded similar to weeping.

"Is it crying?" Leo asked. "Why would it do that."

Thinking quickly, Sill replied, "It feels your inner
pain and turmoil. It hurts when you do."

Leo looked to the denizen. He took a series of deep
and steady breaths to calm himself. It took a moment,
but the creature did as well.

Sillhouette sighed with relief and looked to Trinity.
She motioned her long sleeve upward.

“Let’s head back up.” She took Leo back up. “Feel like we’ve gotten a lot done here. Guess now you have a different view on your shadow power now. Huh?”

"Yeah. To think that thing has been with me for almost
my whole life and I never knew it. Now that I think about it,
it does explain a lot. Chrystalion will be disapointed to hear
it wasn't Mom protecting me all this time."

“Heh, right. I say try to start getting to know your shadow guardian a little better for the next session. As for visiting the Shadow Realm on your own might want to hold off and head down with me a few times until you’re comfortable.”

"Yeah. Okay. Would it be alright if we stopped for today?
My therapist suggested I take a break if I start to feel, how
did she put it? Emotionally taxed. I feel pretty worn out
after going back in there."

“Fine by me.”

"Thanks. And thank you, y'know, for helping me with...
y'know. The kissing."

“Glad I could help. We’re cool now, right?”

"Yeah. We're cool."

Heather smiled a toothy grin. She took a tone of feigned innocence and trilled, "Wha~at? I'm just looking to give tomorrow's headline some pizazz, and it would be greedy of me to deny the others a chance to help. Especially our new teacher. I'm sure she'll have some choice words for Valhalla's favorite secret siblings. Speaking of which, we should get ready. I'm actually kind of excited to meet the woman that trained Trinity. Do you think she'll bring the giant talking wolf?"

After a few minutes of conversation and getting dressed in casual Saturday attire, Heather and Liv made their way to their usual training room.

Clara nearly choked on her drink, which brought an amused giggle from Theresa. She dabbed her mouth with her napkin and glared at her son. "Theonis Acula Richards, if my feet so much as go two feet from the ground I will smack you so hard that your eyes will be white again, and I don't care if my hand might shatter upon impact with your super powered face to do it! Do I make myself clear?!"

The server returned just in time to hear the frighteningly maternal threat to Valhalla's headmaster. He cleared his throat and asked, "What would everyone like for their meals?"

Leonard went with his old standby. "Two eggs, sunny side up, two sausage links, and buttered toast."

Clara, keeping her eyes on Theonis, said, "Vegetarian omelet made with egg whites, please."

"Yeah, okay." Freya replied. Both her and Okami's mouth began to water at the idea of tearing into a ham. Freya lingered awkwardly for a few seconds before Okami, yet again, nudged her. "Oh! Um. I guess we'll catch up to you later when the glazed pecs are ready. I mean ham! When the glazed ham is ready."

The "twins" went over to Lokelonni and gave her each a kiss, or a lick in Okami's case. After a quick confirmation that they'd need to return as soon as possible, Okami took Freya to the training room via the shadows. They struck up a conversation as they waited for the others to arrive.

Alec also laughed nervously at the, at least, one huge similarity between Fenris and Freya. He walked with the others to their usual training room; the aptly named "Box O' Pain." In fact, those words were spray painted across the entrance in big, yellow letters by Fenris. She named it not just for the silly name, but because she'd refer to training as "getting BOPped." At the entrance, the four of them met up with Heather and Liv. The couple was giggling mischievously about something, but they refused to elaborate more on it. Alec took note of who'd answered the page. Life, Death, Fire, Water, Light, and Rydia. Theonis was having breakfast with his family, and Trinity was no doubt busy with her usual business. To Alec, Freya seemed a bit more reasonable than Fenris. He hoped that was the case in every regard.

The six of them entered the B.O.P.

In the center, Freya stood beside Okami with her hand on the wolf's back. She looked at each one of them, smiled, and said, "Well, turns out I've met all of you already. Rydia, you don't have to be here, y'know."

"True, but I promised Fenris that I'd be here when I could." replied the Princess.

Freya nodded to her niece and looked to the others. "For those of you I haven't made a formal introduction to, I'm FreHEY!"

Freya was bumped by Okami when the wolf rushed up to the new people and began hopping in front of and sniffing them.

Deora, who was more of a cat person, stood as still as possible as the massive wolf inspected her.

Heather, on the other hand, could barely contain her joy. Her hands were bent in front of her chest and she was close to bouncing as much as Okami was.

Okami spun around and yipped, "Hi, I'm Okami! You guys wanna be friends?!"

Deora made an uncomfortable face and answered, "Sure?"

Heather hopped in front of Okami and squeed, "Oh my God, yes!"

Okami gasped, "Really?! Oh, and you're the dragon girl!"

Heather pointed to Okami and turned to look at Liv. She huffed almost inaudibly, "She knows who I am!"  

[Nova Blancke]

"Pecs?" Liam cocked his head a bit as she said that. Odd. The room felt empty as she left. Strangely empty. It was just him and the former queen.

He turned to face her."They don't know, do they? Your time is running out. Please, let me....." He stopped himself. He was about to ask to take her memories into him as he did with Freya before she asked him to remove them.

"I have.....found my answer regarding your daughter. I ..."He paused shortly". I wish to be with her. I desire to be with her. I want to see her smile, to see her happy. I want to do whatever I can to achieve that." He said, unsure of what he was saying was to her or confirmation for himself.

"I think I may be in love with her."

"Uhuh" Liv responded as Heather feigned her ignorance."Probably."

Liv looked over Kerana and Alec being...giggly. Either they banged in secret or are just in one of those giggly moods.

She gave a wink to Freya because they've definitely met before. She should have expected Heather's reaction to the wolf but somehow she keeps forgetting just how much she loves animals.

"I'm good. Thanks." She responded. She never really was a fan of big animals. Just so much hair.

"I mean yeah....Fenris knew so..."

Theo couldn't help but laugh at her response and her threat. It even surprised him how little her tone affected him. His current life has had thrown more at him than his mother ever could.

"Scrambled egg, buttered toast and some strawberry yam." Theo looked at the server before back to his mother.

"You're going flying with me one of these days.Out of your own will. Mark my words."

"A mother's hunch I suppose."

She almost knocked over her wine glass when she heard about his shadow.

"So there's one of those..shadow creatures attached to his shadow? The one that kept him safe when he first sank? Huh....well that solves that mystery. Honestly I was kind of hoping it was his mother or...whatever remained of her. But I suppose she really is gone." She smiled sadly before taking a deep breath.

"Okay, thank for helping him out with that."

Lokelonni put up one hand as he approached and commanded politely, "I know what you want to do. Do not do it. I will tell them tonight. Part of the human condition is that memories die with the person. I will live on through the hearts and minds of my children, and their children. Besides, if you want the memories of my many lives you can go to Alec for Crosis' exhaustive logs."

Lokelonni did not react, at first, to Liam's unsure declaration. Then she let out an amused breathed though her mouth. "Ah. He finally understands."

Her expression became one of absolute sincerity as she looked in his direction. "Am I to assume that you know of her past? Of her first love, Alines?"

Freya started to say, "About Fenris, we don't-"

"We don't remember anything from the last three months!" Okami cheerfully interjected. "So I'm meeting almost everyone here for the first time since I spent so much of my time asleep inside of Freya, but I don't have to do that anymore! I get to go out in the sun, and run around, and meet new friends, and eat all kinds of food, and play, and sing, and..."

Deora made a puzzled face as she looked to the others to see if they were as weirded out as she was. This massive apex predator was behaving like one of the cartoon ponies her little cousins watched. She couldn't remember which one. The pink one maybe?

Okami was stilled rattling off all the things she wanted to do when a pair of strangers entered the training room. They would immediately look familiar to Liv as Lucas and Louise Colmer.

Freya craned her neck to get a look at the newcomers and shouted at them, "Hey! Didn't you see the occupied light on? Beat it before you get hurt!"

Confused, they looked to Heather and took notice of the giant wolf behind her. Heather's smile was almost as big as the wolf's. Lucas replied, "We were invited by Heather Reynolds for an exclusive interview. She told us to come here, so here we are. We didn't know others would be here, though."

Heather ran up to Freya and whispered into her ear.

Freya also grinned widely. "An interview? Right, right. She just reminded me. Well, we can all give our statements to the Valhalla press, right everyone? Kerana, would you be a dear and secure the doors so we aren't interrupted. Liv, keep an 'eye' on our guests. Okami...go make some new friends."

A moment later, the siblings were bowled over by a huge, surprisingly friendly, bubbly, and overly chatty wolf. The two of then didn't know whether to be terrified or angry.

"Kids, say hello to the brains behind Vixens of Valhalla as well as the shitty gossip rag."

"Don't hold your breath, Theo." Clara huffed.

Some small talk and banter was shared for a few minutes until Leonard brought up the moon in the room.

"How goes preparations for the moon mission?" Leonard asked

Clara became very quiet as she sipped her drink and waited for a reply. The momentary silence was only broken by Theresa's musical humming.  

[Nova Blancke]

"I see." He responded.

"Yes, Your grand daughter told me after I asked her. After I....mispoke to Fenris." He too turned to face her.

"I will be careful before uttering that word to her despite already having made my intentions clear to her."

She really didn't remember the last few months huh. Clean slate would be best then. She turned to see the two trouble makers enter the room. It was hard for her to contain her smile at Freya's instructions.

"Sure thing." Looking over at the siblings she activated her eyes.

"Oh I know who they are."


The moon mission? How did he know? It wasn't something he should know or talk about.

"Ongoing." He simply responded.

Lokelonni chuckled and said, "Clear or not, she will not be won over so easy. Her uncouth demeanor is a powerful wall that she has built up over the years. You are the first in decades to insist on chipping through it. That is something that will not only scare her, but it will also trigger her more violent, defensive urges."

The queen threw her covers back and steadily swung her legs over the side. She slowly reached toward her cane, retrieved it, and stood up. "We have much to discuss if you are to pursue my daughter romantically. Would you please be so kind as to prepare a kettle of tea for us while I take a seat at the table? All this early morning excitement has tired me more than I thought. How odd this must look. To move like an old woman without looking like an old woman."

Lokelonni patiently made her way to the dining table and took a seat. With a heavy exhale, she leaned her cane against the table.

"So, Liam, what is your plan?" she asked.

Lucas tried to freeze everyone's thoughts while Louise tried to shrink the prattling wolf. Nothing worked. Panic began to set in as Heather stood over them.

Freya sneered, "If you're trying to use your powers to escape, then you should've done more homework. Heather, do you want to tell the others what you just told me."

"They sent a kid into our bedroom to take candid pictures of Liv and I. And when I say candid, I mean private. Take a look at their front page." Heather snarled.

Deora and Alec looked at their phones and gasped.

"Hijo de puta!" Deora exclaimed.

Alec glared at the siblings as the blue highlights in his hair flared with his anger. "Embarrassing Kerana and the others wasn't enough for you?!"

Lucas put his hands up to keep Okami's slobber out of his face. "People wanted more! We're just feeding the need!"

Freya raised a brow and muttered, "Okami, they aren't friends. Show them how you treat enemies."

The wolf caught on immediately and curled her lips back to reveal every tooth in her vicious jaws. Her hot breath washed over the siblings as she growled mere inches from their faces.

Louise screamed, "No no! Please, we're sorry! C'mon! You can't kill us!"

"I can, actually. It's really easy for me. Since I'm an assassin and everything. I'm also really good at hiding bodies. Okami here can actually crush bones with her jaws."

Lucas and Louise looked to who they knew was the kindest person in the group. They hoped Kerana would be able to save their skins.
