I know in Emerald and I believe Platinum, the Random Number Generator is flawed (the best I can boil it down to is, it's not very random and can easily be predicted with a bit of effort), and through skillful (and monotonous) manipulation of it, you can get certain IVs/Natures/Genders/Shininess/Hidden Powers on whatever Pokémon you want.

But there's a huge debate on whether or not exploitation of glitches is cheating. I think Nintendo's official stance, for sake of convenience, is that yes, exploiting ANY glitches is cheating, but don't quote me on that because I'm not sure. However, the fandom seems to be divided; Some people think using glitches is perfectly alright since they're not using an "external cheating device", but some people think that any use of the game beyond the developer's original intention of use is cheating.

I think it's fine. I used the cloning glitches in GSC and Emerald all the time. xD

I've SAV'd before, but i would never use the pokemon against other people. xD

I started doing it a while ago, when I saw in some girl's signature here that she was looking for a few Pokémon. So I went to her trade page thing off-site, and under her terms of trading, she, liked, just ranted so intensely against hackers. Like, "I ******** HATE HACKERS. ANYONE WHO USES AN AR IS A HACKER. GOD DAMN I HATE THEM SO MUCH I WISH THE FBI WOULD ARREST THEM AND THROW THEM IN JAIL AND THEY'D GET a**-GANGRAPED REPEATEDLY UNTIL THEY DROPPED DEAD. DON'T ******** TRADE ME HACKED POKEMON." No joke.

So I'm like, "Well fine b***h. I'm gonna give you a hacked Miltank, so suck on my c**k."


@DJ: Not to my knowledge. I used to be neutral on hacking (didn't care one way or another if someone did it). But then I got an AR about a year after D/P came out because I was so damn bored with my Diamond and thought an AR might help it be fun again, but as soon as people started looking down their noses at me because it, I became strongly pro-hack out of spite. If people are politely anti-hack, I can respect that. But I have a problem with people who think they're better than me because I hack and/or they don't.

Wait, so what's the cloning glitch in emerald?! I remember that GSC's was when you moved pokemon and turned it off while it was saving....

I forget it exactly because I haven't done it in years, but it's pretty similar to GSC's. It still involves putting what you want to clone in a box on your PC, then saving the game but turning it off in the middle of saving. You had to do it at one of the Battle Frontier's facilities, and then talk to one of the NPCs between putting the Pokémon in the box, then saving. That's about all I remember.


@Bulba: rofl You flatter me so. But in truth, I can be too polite and nice for my own good. Usually only to my friends, though. I've been in plenty of situations where my friends were being annoying or whatnot, and I just wanted to tell them to shut the ******** up and/or leave me alone, but I couldn't because I didn't want to hurt their feelings or anything.

And when I'm driving, I can easily be bullied by the other drivers. xD
