ENDLESS JOURNEYS (O/A)

[Nova Blancke]

Nova watched the stars for what seemed to be an eternity. The magic he used on himself to refresh his mind and body was still as effective as ever. From time to time a memory crossed his head that told him the stars positions were wrong. But he shrugged it off. This was his current life not something in the past. Taking a break from the stargazing he had written quite a bit for the youngsters. Mostly for Alec however. It was divided in two notebooks. One for Kerana and one for Alec There were a few formula's along with theories in it but most of it was his opinion on how it should be used. Nova only tossed those formula's in it because they might need it since they were used to it. For plenty of hours he wrote until the sun rose. It almost transformed the scenario before him. Nova continued to write however thinking that it was best to let them sleep a little longer before rousing them from their beds.

After another hour he got up. Stretching and looking up. He took in a deep breath of fresh air. " Time to wake up the children." Nova told himself and went back to the inn. First up was Trinity and Alejandro.Followed by Alec and Kerana. Seeing those two like that really made him want to help. They should be together.

Alec was in quite the deep slumber. When he felt the tickle across his nose he thought it was something in his dream. He mumbled aloud, "...tickles. Yer tail tickles."

The visage in the water looked at Shara with a scrupulous eye. He hadn't expected the wolf boy to be inhabited by an ancient. Only a select few of the wolf kin are selected by the elder spirits, and they had always been an exemplar of their people. He wondered if it was true or if she were trying to make an excuse. He would find out.

Knowing that only the learned are aware of the forest spirit names he asked her, "An ancient you say? Tell me, did the ancient give you a name?"

Alec snorted and grinned. "Didn't know you had two tails."

His eyes fluttered open and he saw that he was in fact being tickled by Kerana's tail. His face turned pale, then red, and then even more red. His eyes shifted in here direction as he squeaked out, "...Morning..."

The necromancer's eyes grew wide with fury. The visage shown to Shara burst into a green flame to reflect this. Zephyr, the spirit of wind. This complicated matters. If something were to endanger the boy or the one he is guarding, as Shara did, then the spirit would intervene to ensure the pact isn't broken. The necromancer knew of the other control methods in place, but the spirit was one he didn't give much credit to.

The flames ebbed a bit as he calmed down. "Shara, as much of a setback as this is, you have revealed something vital. Had I continued as planned the spirit would've made things difficult for me. However, I don't take failure lightly. Spend the rest of the evening thinking about how to right this, I have other matters to attend to at the moment. Contact me at dawn. Oh, and you may want to make sure no one sees you until sunrise."

The necromancer cut off communication with his servant and looked down at a bone with hair tied around it. He picked it up in his hands and unraveled the hair. A sadistic grin crossed his lips as he imagined what Shara's reaction would be to suddenly becoming a walking corpse.

Trinity was already dressed in her tunic, pants, and boots, doing her morning routine at dawn. Regardless of how little sleep she got she felt well rested. Perhaps due to Nova. She was down to the final part of her morning warm up her one hand push ups.

Alec continued his red faced gaping as the feather fell to his feet. He picked it up gingerly and watched as she excused herself to somewhere more private. He brushed his fingers against the feather and looked over at Kerana's direction. It was official, he was most definitely in love. He was also officially screwed.

The visage of the necromancer narrowed it's eyes at Shara. "Do you really think me that daft? Why do you think I told you to remain hidden until dawn?"

He tied the hair back around the bone and placed it back on it's rightful plate. "There, your living appearance should return shortly. This was a reminder, Shara, that without me you are dead. You're still of use to me, so I am allowing you to maintain your humanity. Should you cease to be useful, or prove to be incompetent, I will reduce you to the rotting corpse you should be."

"Do well, and I will grant you eternal youth. Now, you know Trinity, what would be the best way to get to her?"

Alejandro Inazuma

Ale opened his eyes slowly, taking in the light of the sun outside. He yawned and stretched, letting his wings gather some of the sunlight from the window. He looked over, and saw Trinity doing some one handed push-ups, and suddenly felt rather lazy. He maneuvered his way off of the bed and scratched the back of his head. "Nmm... Morning..." He mumbled to her as he went into the washroom to splash some water on his face.

Nova coughed. Time to get everyone together to head to the Mana Wells.

" Meet me downstairs in 10 minutes." Nova told the group. He headed downstairs deeply in thoughts. There had to be a way to extend his life. He had to help them as long as he could. Mold them into the best mages they could be at their age. Trinity was learned well enough. Alejandro should learn as well. Lightning would fit him. The University won't agree with his method there was no time for formula's and nonsense like that!

After getting cleaned up, stretching a bit, and checking to insure everything was packed, Ale went down stairs to the told meeting spot. Before leaving the room, he put his cloak on and grabbed a fruit from a small boll near the door, and ate it on his way down. Once downstairs he took a seat on a chair, waiting for the others.

"Ahh good morning Alejandro. I see that you are first despite Trinity being up earlier." Nova greeted the Valkyrie." Have you given learning Lightning another thought? I say it'd fare you well to take a chance with that."

She heard Alejandro, she held herself up for a moment and said, "Good Morning" she kept going as he left. She finished her reps then went down her shadow and dragged her clothes and equipment down their shadows. Trinity emerged from a dark corner of the room careful to not interupt Nova and Alejandro.

Ale thought about the offer that had been asked a while back about learning lightening magic. It wasn't that he didn't want to learn, the true thought he had in mind was would he have enough time? And also, since he thought he and Nova were alone, he had another question in mind. One that had not yet been answered. "I'll take you up on that offer when we get the chance. But I have a question as well..." He began as he looked around quickly, not noticing Trinity. He looked back at Nova. "So what's the deal with Trinity anyways? Why does this 'Necromancer' want her dead? Just what is it that I don't know?" He whispered so that only Nova could hear.
