His kiss was deep, needful, and passionate. His hips involuntarily pressed against hers as he reluctantly moved his lips from her's and down to her collarbone.

Trinity continued his kiss with a similar passion, deep and fulfilling. She wanted to forget the saving the world, the AU timeline and Theonis just for a moment to be with him in this moment. As she felt his hips move she grabbed his butt and slapped it, then whispered “hmmm… my Dean what a hard a** you’ve got there.” His hard work at the gym would not go unnoticed. She let out a little moan as he went down her neck. Piece by piece the clothes fell to the floor. She didn’t have to hold back and neither did he.

Sometime during Dean’s first week they met at the gravitational training facility. She was 24 at the time and she was already was making a name for herself as Head of Security. She saw him and wanted to be part of his life some way. He had recognized her from orientation and it drove him to sign up for Valhalla’s army and climbed up the ranks to lieutenant. Along the way they built a solid friendship they had one another’s backs through thick and thin and faced many battles. They’d joke about going out with one another then it happened they kissed and they found themselves not joking anymore.

Then she broke up with him. It was a dagger to her seeing him with mermaid Catherine. It was difficult but they mended enough to work together. Dean, at one point decided to take a different path in teaching. That was the last she saw of him until recently.

Now both naked she kissed him so hard she didn’t want to let go. She didn’t want him out of her life again. Sill was right, she did fear having her heart broken but she didn’t know what to do. She knew she’d regret not taking a second chance with him. They parted a tear streaked from her eye. He knew why.

"I...don't want to tell you what to do, but I've seen the thing in person. It devoured my world. It was unstoppable, and just looking at the big eye would drive people insane. But, we didn't have them." she said with a motion to Kerana. "They're strong. Really strong. If you do what the voice says, you'll be strong too. I...I don't know. I'm afraid for you, and for me. It's hard to put into words."

She took a deep breath and blurted out, "You're smart. A lot smarter than me. You should do what you think is right. As long as it's your choice."

Kerana blushed as Ravan made a reference to her but nodded in agreement.

Sara smiled as Ravan swam her way over. Though she could sense her discomfort she had come a long way when it came to swimming. She listened to what she had to say and noticed Kerana looked different, not just her hair ears and tails but body had changed too since she last saw her in the pool. This made her blush because she caught herself staring. “ahem, Thank you Ravan.” Ravan had shared some good points but was she really a good choice for this endeavor? They swam toward the shallow end so Ravan could stand if she wanted. “Did your uh… ancient say anything to you?”

Kerana thought about it for a moment, “Her name was Vivi, the aspect of Life's Vigor. She said she was sorry she had to do this to me and that I would help to save the world. She quoted my mom saying that ‘I bring life and love’. And also to believe in myself. What did your Ancient tell you?”

”His name was Rheum, aspect of water's adaptability and I would receive a boon. He chose me because of the strength of my heart. He was sorry that it came to this and showed me everything. Including the Hellstar.”
“Rheum mention that I would evolve to not have to resort to having to use the suit to walk around. He mentioned something similar happened to Heather. It’s been a while since I last saw her. What happened?”

”When Damien came to her she was close to death. Her source was warped and Damien was able to fix it along with granting her first part of her boon. When he was done she was a fire breathing dragon. It took a while to figure things out but she was able to shape-shift from dragon to human and anything in between.”

”Wait! Now hold up!” She stood a moment. “You mean to tell me that I could be human again if I accept his boon?”

”Quite possibly… I mean that is what happened to Heather.” Kerana spoke with uncertainty, if that’s what the ancient truly meant or if it was indeed something else. “Regardless you would be able to roam the surface based on what he said. Not sure what that entirely looks like to him. But being human again is a possibility but it may not be the only one.”

”I see… “ she sat in the water for a moment. “So there’s a possibility that I could still look like this but breathe on land? Heh, thought it would make the decision easier if that was it.”

”You okay?”

”I’m not sure. One big advantage of being in this form here. I don’t necessarily have to go out there and be discriminated against or called monster or whatever… People already have a sense of what they are in for when they come visit the mer-metas.”

The water around Ravan fluctuated slightly with a building anger. "Who calls you a monster?! They're stupid! I've seen real monsters, and they can look just like me! No tails, no fins, no fur or scales! I fought and killed monsters like that! A monster isn't just something or someone that doesn't look like a non meta-human! You're a pretty girl who smiles even when she's sad! You're not a monster! You're a person who's trapped by her powers!"

Okami nodded her head with approval. "That's a huge step if she made a conscious decision to sleep near you rather than pass out like she normally does. Keep it up, and in a few months she might link her pinky with yours. You should be able to make with the sexy times in a year or so, I think."

Theresa's brow creased upward as she considered Theonis' words. "I don't know what a cancer is, but if it's bad we can kill it, right? That's what the treatment is?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 18, 2024 10:55 am
Theo smiled a bit and pat her head a bit.

"Yeah that's what the treatment is for. But it also means she can't come with us to the moon. Which is a problem. So we're going to have to look into an alternative. See if we can get those ancients to give their boons to someone else. If such a thing is possible at all." He replied as he wasn't concerned with her health. The medical care they had here was topnotch. Deora would recover.

Liam raised an eyebrow. Link her pinky? That made no sense. But her comment about 'sexy times' did affect him.

"Goodnight Okami" He replied in his mind before turning around.

The thought of 'sex' has crossed his mind on occasion but he hasn't explored it yet. He knew what it entailed but he had never envisioned himself with Freya like that. Had he? Okami's words certainly made those thoughts come to life. Creating vivid images in his mind that were distracting to say the least. Sleep did not come to him easily that night.

Sara nodded on what Ravan said and smiled a little. “Thank you Ravan.”

“There was something else that was bugging me. He seemed to take one look at me and simply called me a daughter of Mer. It was like he disregarded my human life. ”

”That might not be what you think it means. One of my teachers who is about as old as the ancient that granted me my boon has referred to me as ‘a child of Inari’. An ancestor of mine. I know that it is a strange coincidence that your ancestor’s name is Mer and you’re a mer-meta but that’s all it is.”

”I guess it’s not what I thought indeed.” She took a moment to look at the pool.

”You want to hear something really weird? When I met my current mentor who posses the second part of my boon, she already knew Alec and I before we spoke our names. She said she had met us in a different lifetime. She described us then as ‘a sullen, nervous boy and a bright, headstrong girl who were practically inseparable’ isn’t it kind of odd how accurate that is?”

”Yeah, I’ll say…” she looked to the pool and took into consideration of letting someone else see the visions she saw. Give the wright of the world that have been bestowed upon her onto someone else’s shoulders. As Ravan mentioned people list their minds seeing such a vision. People might not be able to take the weight of the world. It helped that shew knew a few people on the team already and that they wouldn’t let her down. She could depend on them and they… could depend on her. With her mind made up she nodded on her decision. Yes she could have taken the easy route and let them keep searching and they would ultimately come back to her if no one else was willing. No, she figured might as well skip the wait and face this head on. Though she would miss the safety and comfort of her pool but this was the right choice. “Thank you both. I’ve come to a decision.” She faced Kerana and Ravan, “I’m joining your fight.”

Kerana’s feelings were mixed, she was glad they didn’t have to continue searching but wasn’t too keen bout bringing someone else into all of this. ”Thank you Sara. I know it is a hard decision to make.” She hugged her. “I’ll go change and text Alec.” Kerana got out of the pool and into the locker room, leaving Sara and Ravan alone together for a moment.

Ravan stood in the shallow end and did not say anything for a few moments. She was disappointed. Not with Sara, per se, but with the situation as a whole. Ravan had hoped that after crossing over, after taking out Daedalus, and after coming to terms with her trauma she would be able to live peacefully. It was not meant to be.

"As long as it's your choice, then...then I'll fight with you. One last time."

She was about to reach for Sara when the door opened again. At first, she thought Kerana had come back. She had not expecting to see Deora.

Deora had left the ER against medical advice. Even with Alec's 50/50 prediction, she had a gut feeling that Sara would agree to Rheum's terms. All things considered, Deora was able to walk on her own. No amount of blood cancer would stop her.

"I thought I'd save you guys a trip."

She saw their somber faces and immediately knew her gut was right. She sighed and stepped into the water. Although she was at Ravan's level, she was not wet. The water was just enough off of her that she was able to tread and swim.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" she asked.

”Yes. Not only that I’d be riddled with regret if I let someone else look at the Hell Star. Besides how am I to be a marine biologist when there’s no life left on earth?“

“I thank you for taking on this great burden for so long. You can rest at ease I’ll do whatever it takes.” Her dark spheres looked into Deora’s eyes.

Kerana returned with the outfit she had on earlier. She exchanged some texts with Alec ending with ‘she’s here I’ll let you know when we need a portal back.’ She observed their exchange and what was about to happen next.

Deora's eyes welled up. She huffed and wiped her eyes with the tips of her fingers. After a deep breath she offered her right hand. The inherit humidity of the pool room drew around her upper arm and concentrated into a pair of amorphous aquatic tendrils and stopped jest behind Deora's wrist.

"Wow, he's really eager. Alec said Mister Richards' Ancient acted in a similar way. Ok...take my hand."

When Sara's hand grasped Deora's the tendrils continued their path and slithered around Sara's arms without making contact. Once they reached her shoulder, they split off and morphed in to dozens of small, water made sea life. Sharks, turtles, dolphins, fish, octopi, whales, and more called and swam around her like she was the safest person to be around.

Rheum's voice echoed in her head, "Sara, child of humanity and daughter of Mer, receive my boon. May your spirit give you the strength to join with fire's light, create steam, and power humanity's way to the future."

A bright, blinding light emanated from their hands, and Rheum's power passed from Deora to Sara.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heather, still out cold from the sedative, stirred in her sleep as she felt Deora's connection sever. Thankfully her restlessness was short lived as a new, and pleasantly familiar, connection was made.
Sara watched as the water tendrils wrapped around her arm. The suddenness or eagerness as Deora put it, made her take a step back. As Deora continued explaining it was similar to what Alec went through it put her at ease and made her think that she truly was taking the right path. Then she offered her hand.
She looked at Ravan once more, she wanted to share with her part of her decision to do this was to help avoid the dangers in her timeline, so she could live freely in peace. But couldn’t bring herself to do it at this time.
Sara took a sharp breath to shake off any lingering doubt. Her dark orbs looked to Deora’s hand and she took it. Sara watched as the water tendrils wrapped around. As the water shifted into schools of marine life swirling around she smiled knowing she could identify most of them. It kind of tickled as they swam around her causing her to squirm and giggle. She closed her eyes and listened to Rheum’s words, knowing now he was referring to her ancestry and her upbringing.
Light emanated from their hands and it spread all over Sara’s body, she felt its warmth. Her head shifted into that of a human’s and her hair floated up. Her body returned mostly to her human form her fins still remained. Her ears were pointed but unlike Trinity’s they looked mostly normal but pointy at their tops.
The light started to recede revealing braids of blue hair. Light blue and lilac scales were around her fins a few just below her eyes like a line of freckles, and a few scales covered her essentials. The scales contrasted her black skin. The light concentrated in her core as a glowing orb inside her chest cavity. She opened her eyes which were no longer dark orbs but human eyes that were blue and glowing. Her thick lips let out a breath of fresh air.
Before she even looked at herself she saw the tears in Deora’s eyes. She hugged her tight. Water in the pool swirled up around them. She shared a thought with Deora I won’t let you down, I will make you proud. When she let go the water shifted into little droplets it was like a brief moment of rain.
Deora covered her eyes as she witnessed the bright light again. When it was done she could feel a strange void. Not an uncomfortable one. To her, it felt like when you forgot something that was important, but not consequential. The sensation caused her eyes to involuntarily tear up. She missed it. The power. She missed the connection to the water. She was just Deora again.
Her cheeks became a rosy hue when she laid her eyes on Sara. She was about to speak up when she found herself in the embrace of her mostly nude friend.
"I know you will, but Sara you're...eh? Ay dios mio, Ravan!"
She was distracted by the sudden appearance of what looked like blood in the water. She followed it toward Ravan; who was face up in the water, unconscious, with a massive nose bleed.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 26, 2024 1:41 pm
Ravan had also covered her eyes. When her vision came back into focus, the first thing she noticed was that Sara had her human skin and hair back. Well, mostly. There were still fins, and she had scales around her...her.
It all happened fast. She felt her face become very hot, her eyes rolled back into her head, and she fell back into the water. She did not even have time to notice the sensation or taste of blood on her mouth. The last thing she thought before everything became dark was, "I wanna kiss her stomach."
She would not have any recollection of that thought.
