Today was pretty average and Startrek: Voyager put me in a good mood because, haha, today's episode was funny (I watch it because there is nothing to do, okay? stare ).

The bad news is, my cousin Lourdes is pregnant and she dropped out/was kicked out of school. The guy wants nothing to do with her, apparently, and he wasn't expelled. It's really upsetting...and, well, I don't know what to do or say. I remembered my stance on safe sex and abstinence (I think abstinence is a load of poppycock if you ask me) and my mum and I agreed that people around here shouldn't censor things that can make a difference.

What scares me is that I was reading an article about pregnancies under the age of 18 this morning, and I'm starting to think that that article was an omen.

I don't think it's a bad idea to teach kids about abstinence, it's just that if you want to teach children (teenagers E_E) about abstinence, you should teach them about safe sex. Being informed about the topic, about contraceptives and condoms, they'll be able to go at it safely. (And yes, we all know how these methods can fail at any given time even if the chance is quite low).

And ya.. I am really sensitive on this subject.. One of my best friends was raped.. and she almost lost her mind thinking she was going to get pregnent..

My stance on this. If you are stupid enough to have sex with someone who -has any possible chance- of not sticking around if something happens.. then it is your fault. Both guy and girl. Yes legal systems/schools should take into consideration more of the guy since, without their sperm... a girl cannot get pregnent.
