tamcharles *RANT TIME!* Perhaps someone can enlighten me, because I just don't get it. Given all the current brouhaha about these Danish Mohammad cartoons... I don't quite understand the *violent* reaction. For one, when I was a devout Catholic... people made fun of God, Jesus, Mary the entire cast-and-crew of Catholicism... and they even did this as part of mainstream culture. Ever watch "Bruce Almighty" or "American Dad"? Well case and point. Frankly, I just don't get why there are so many protestors, when they do this to the other religions (almost daily if not more). You don't see Catholics killing people because someone made God out to be a "female" (American Dad) or as a "black man" (Bruce Almighty)... You don't see Buddists, Taoists, etc. going all ape-sh*t over similar stuff. Heck! You don't even see the Atheists burning stuff down, they just complain about references to God. I mean if they're not burning stuff... it must not be a big deal to begin with right? So what's the big deal? If anything isn't understanding, tolerance, non-violence and peaceful protest the keystones for religion and Islam in particular? And let me tell you, with all the current stuff going around, it *seems* quite the opposite IMHO. I just don't get it... so if someone can fill me in on this, please do. confused sweatdrop
Those two shows are funny.

Niphredil Ithilmir Yes, but they're not just representing Allah as female or black. They're putting him in an image, which is forbidden by Islamic tradition, and they're showing his main prophet with a bomb for a turban. I can understand them, to be honest, even though I have no religious affiliation. Making fun of something is not the same as directly insulting them, which these cartoons appear to be doing; I do think they are rather over the top. I mean, if they were even funny.. but they're really not, unless you're seriously sectarianist and sadistic. Although I agree, their reaction to it is a little bit hypocritical. But understandably so. Actually no. Their reaction is an absolute disgrace towards their entire religion and Muhammad's teachings. What was that guy's name, Tarek Fatah? The director of MCC, didn't he say something like, Muhammad faced worse insults than the cartoon and still the right thing to do was to look the other way"? Because this is definitely not what I'm seeing stare Machine gun parade in the middle of the street? confused Hurra for stray bullets neutral

Yes, but that religion and those teachings have been absolutely spat upon. How do you expect them not to be angry? You are angry when people insult China.. it's much the same principle.

There was this retarded kid, he always walks home with me, well, we go in the same direction, so I guess he's not with me. He's fudging bothers me, always arguing with either me, my friend or his friends. The other day, they were on the topic of 2 divided by four. Apparently, it's now 1 =_= I said 0.5 and he called me a retarded. Think before you talk, that's the best thing parents ever teach you. Moving on. I really can't remember what I said but something made him called China a third world country and some other s**t about it being poor and such. Well, in the end, I pretty much wanted to rip his balls off. (Yesh, I need help with anger managment...) Sadly, I can't rip anyone's balls off, well, never tried, but kicking the s**t out of him until he ran home was good enough. -feels the need to beat him up some more- @Niph-points to Niph- You said he was never coming back. -points to Kitty- Liar! gonk

Cat-Whiskers Niphredil Ithilmir Yes, but that religion and those teachings have been absolutely spat upon. How do you expect them not to be angry? You are angry when people insult China.. it's much the same principle. Not true. While the satirical comic did make fun of the way some Islamic extremists are acting and yes the muslims do have a right to be less than happy about it, they do not have the right to react the way they did. True, I get mad when people insult China, but that doesn't mean I will go to China and encourage the government to be corrupt or people to accept more bribes. That is the point I'm trying to make. While the muslims can protest, the form of protest they are exhibiting is disgusting.
No, but there are others who will. And I'm not condoning their actions, but just trying to say that I see why; of course terrorism or blowing people up and setting buildings on fire is wrong in all senses, whatever anyone has done to you, but it's not as.. unjustified as you made out originally.
@t0shi0 - China is a third world country. Comparatively, it's poorer. But we're powerful, which makes all the difference. <33
And he is such a retard. Since when has 2/4=1?! stressed
