hey here, Just thought I'd pass along some more Movie news I found.
Thought I'd pass along the follow up to the Cruse/Julie story first.
filmonic.com Tom Cruise Attached To Food Fight We recently heard that Tom Cruise had been replaced by Angelina Jolie in Edwin A. Salt, and now The Hollywood reporter have word that Cruise is loosely attached to Food Fight, a warmhearted comedy about a snooty New York chef who is forced to cook meals at a school cafeteria. “Food Fight” would mark a departure for Cruise, who has made few comedies since his breakout role in 1983’s “Risky business”: His last such lead role was in 1996’s dramedy “Jerry Maguire.” In “Tropic Thunder,” Cruise plays an overweight, over-the-top studio exec in what advance word has billed as a movie-stealing performance. Cruise has had other bit comedy parts over the years in films like “Austin Powers: Goldmember.” Maybe Cruise has realised doing serious movies like Lions for Lambs won’t be getting him an Oscar anytime soon, so why not do a few comedies? After 5 years of us laughing at him he can then do another serious movie where he plays a disabled schizophrenic war veteran. Then he will finally get that Oscar. Perfect!
Here's something for Orlando Bloom fans. He is a good actor.
filmonic.com Orlando Bloom Plans Sarajevo Siege Film Orlando Bloom spoke to the BBC and revealed that he has plans to co-produce and appear in a film about the siege of Sarajevo of the early 1990s. “I read the script and the very human story at the very core of this film spoke to me very clearly,” said Bloom. “Hopefully we can get this movie to be made at the end of this year,” he told reporters. “To come here and shoot would be just wonderful.” If made, the film will be directed by Andrucha Waddington and produced by the Elliott Lewitt. Crew members met this week with Sarajevo’s mayor, who promised financial and other support for the film. From Wikipedia: The Siege of Sarajevo was the longest siege in the history of modern warfare, conducted by the Serb forces of self-proclaimed Republika Srpska and Yugoslav People’s Army (later transformed to the Army of Serbia and Montenegro), lasting from April 5, 1992 to February 29, 1996. It is estimated that of the more than 12,000 people were killed and 50,000 were wounded during the siege, 85% were civilians
Also, a short artical of Iron Man vs Batman?
filmonic.com Robert Downey Jr. Is Not A Fan Of The Dark Knight While on the rounds for Tropic Thunder, Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. revealed to Moviehole that he isn’t too keen on The Dark Knight, or DC Comics for that matter. “My whole thing is that that I saw ‘The Dark Knight’. I feel like I’m dumb because I feel like I don’t get how many things that are so smart. It’s like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I’m like, ‘That’s not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.’ I loved ‘The Prestige’ but didn’t understand ‘The Dark Knight’. Didn’t get it, still can’t tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I’m like, ‘I get it. This is so high brow and so f–king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.’ You know what? F-ck DC comics. That’s all I have to say and that’s where I’m really coming from.” Ouch. I wonder if there has been some history between him and DC Comics? Could Downey be annoyed that The Dark Knight overtook Iron Man at the box office, making it the biggest superhero movie of the summer? At least he speaks his mind and doesn’t spew out crap like most actors.
and, here is what I dread. I was looking at an artical when I see this mentioned. Now, I loved the movie. It was great, but really, can't it be taken too far?
filmonic.com 300 Sequel News Collider spoke with 300 producers Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari and Bernie Goldmann at the recent Saturn Awards and got them to reveal that not only are they working on a Blu-ray edition of the film but they’re also planning a sequel and/or prequel. Frank Miller is busy working on a brand new story and director Zack Snyder says that if they think it could work as a movie, they’re going to make it! I know some people would prefer 300 to stay as a standalone film, however this is Hollywood. 300 was a surprise hit for Warner Bros, having septupled (x7) its budget, so it makes business sense to jump on the sequel bandwagon. What are your thoughts? Can't they just leave a instant classic like 300 alone? They made it historically accurate as we can truly know without a time machine. If they do this, they'll probably have where King Leonidas survive the battle and return home, only to find it destroyed and his wife and son dead, so he seeks out King Xerxes for vengeance or something stupid like that.

MandaG I never saw the film because I don't like war epic type film but wasn't 300 based on the last ever Spartans on the planet who got killed? How are they supposed to make a film based on then after that? Typicall Hollywood ruining everything just so they can laugh their way to the bank.
No, the 300 was on the last stand of the 300 in the Battle of Thermopylae.
wiki In the Battle of Thermopylae (as detailed almost entirely by Herodotus), which occurred in 480 BC,[1] an alliance of Greek city-states fought the invading Persian Empire at the pass of Thermopylae in central Greece. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held back the Persians for three days in one of history's most famous last stands. A small force led by King Leonidas I of Sparta blocked the only road through which the massive army of Xerxes I of Persia could pass. After three days of battle, a local resident named Ephialtes is believed to have betrayed the Greeks by revealing a mountain path that led behind the Greek lines. Dismissing the rest of the army, King Leonidas stayed behind with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespian volunteers, 400 Thebans who had been pressed into service, and 900 Helots. The Persians succeeded in taking the pass but sustained losses disproportionate to those of the Greeks. The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a decisive naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war.[6] The subsequent Greek victory at the Battle of Salamis left much of the Persian Empire's navy destroyed and Xerxes retreated to Asia, leaving a force in Greece under Mardonius, who was to complete the subjugation of the Greeks. The Spartans assembled at full strength and led a pan-Greek army that defeated the main Persian force at the Battle of Plataea. This battle ended the Greco-Persian War and with it, the expansion of the Persian Empire into Europe.[7] The performance of the defenders at the battle of Thermopylae is often used as an example of the advantages of training, equipment, and good use of terrain as force multipliers,[8] and has become a symbol of courage against overwhelming odds.[8]
