More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Annie was about to respond in the affirmative when Shane exits the vehicle leaving her with the sisters. "Ugh..." she muttered under her breath as she placed a hand on her forehead. The auras around her seemed to be growing heavier as she went on, maybe teaming up with Shane was a bad idea. Maybe he really did change so much that he was no longer the man she once fell in love with.

Sighing she got out of the car and said in a falsely cheery voice, "Come on kids, your father is waiting. You do know how he hates to wait..."

Not bothering to see if the three sisters followed or not she headed inside after Shane, pinching the bridge of her nose as a headache was coming on. It wasn't just the auras bothering her, it was the amount of power she used today calling up the liquid that she was going to use against Trinity had taken a lot out of her. The dry weather was getting to her (along with everything else on her mind at the moment).

"Where do you go when the confusion starts? starts? starts?" Echoing endlessly, repeating, everywhere and nowhere all at once and not at all. "Where? Where do you go? Never there. Where do you always go?"

Ako groaned and rubbed his head as his eyes opened. A strong sense of deju vu washed over him. That was, until he realized he was looking into a pair of striking blue eyes framed by violet hair. A smile replaced the worried face as the girl spoke, "Oh, thank God, you're okay. You scared me there for a minute."

"Who- who are you?" Ako croaked, laying his head back against the ground. "And what the hell just happened?"

"I'm no too sure myself," The girl answered, looking around. "There was an alarm, an announcement about some guy named Shane escaping. They told everyone to get to the surface, but when me and my friend turned to run, you were there. I guess I caught you off guard, 'cause I bumped into you and you fell backwards. You hit your head pretty hard." Again, she raised her head to look around. It occurred to Ako she was looking over the top of something.

"So, we're topside, then?" He asked, opening his eyes to get the answer as she told him.

"Well, no. No one would stop to help me get you to the surface, so I did my best to get you safe." The girl explained as Ako took in his immediate surroundings. It looked like they were in a back corner of the music store, with a few of the smaller shelves toppled over to form makeshift barricades. The girl kept looking over the top of them, obviously searching for something. While Ako silently applauded her resourcefulness, it was an idiotic move to keep poking your head out from cover. "What are you looking for?" He had to ask.

"I got separated from my friend. She's blind."

"Not really." Jezebel muttered under her breath.

After Annie opened the door, Lia jumped out, followed by the other two. "Coming!" She called out happily as she practically skipped over to Shane and linked her arm in his, her dull gray eyes were strangely bright as she smiled up at him, his grim mood doing nothing to dampen her own overly cheery self. Probably due to the fact that Neither Jezebel nor Kali ever seemed to not be glum.

Jezebel scoffed as she and Kali came on either side of their 'Step-mother'.
The eldest sighed softly before she forced herself to at least smile, rather convincingly at that.

Gidget nods and takes the bottle from Kerana. Her left shoulder opens to reveal what seems to be a catch and reservoir for a bottle just about it's size. She places the bottle in there and closes the hatch. There is a pressurization sound that come from her shoulder, then she balls her hand into a fist. A needle comes out of her fist, large gauge, meant to penetrate deep tissue.

Gidget looks up at Kerana and suggests, "You wont want to look a this."

She looks back down at Trinity and gets an X-ray view of her thorax. What is in the vial will be administered like adrenaline, but is not. Teshoumaru had found a way to bottle Ki.

Gidget whispers something about returning the favor, and plunges the needle into Trinity's heart. The fluid empties almost immediately into her, then Gidget retracts the needle, waiting for the inevitable.

Shane's eyes snapped wide in shock when Lia clings onto his arm. He looks down at her for a moment and meets her eyes. Suddenly Shane seems much happier, a lot like his old self. He smiles down at her and instinctively hugs her shoulder.

The desk clerk, a surly older man (who doesn't care much for happy families) approaches the counter. He snorts at the sight of Shane's "fatherly love" and asks, "I'm guessin' that will be a room for five?"

The clerk then takes a look between the sisters and coughs. He glares at Shane and Annie spitting, "I don't serve your types at this inn. Take your meteor brats and get the hell out."

Shane's good natured eyes become dark and brooding again. He looks at the clerk and asks, "Are you saying my family is lower than you, just because they are gifted?"

The old man scoffs and states, "I'm sayin' they are lower than me because they are f*cking gray haired freaks."

Shane looks over at Annie and the girls, then back to the clerk. He calmly asks, "Annie, could you be a dear and take the kids to the vending machine? I'm going to have a word with our host."

Annie rolls her eyes when the old man refused to give them a room. Great, I knew the sisters would be a liability, Annie thought angrily. When Annie had escaped from the Daedalus Project HQ she had no problem getting rides or finding places to stay. But then again, that might have been because she was a single female, who was pretty and looked young for her age.

When Shane commanded Annie to take the girls to the vending machine she shook her head and said, "No darling, let me handle this."

Leaning on the desk she smiled at the man, he didn't have a bad aura, he was just misguided with an unhappy life. As Annie spoke her Southern accent flared up, "Look sir, we promise to be out of your hair by seven a.m. tomorrow. Anyhow, supposing my girls were affected meteor showers, would you really want to make someone who might have special powers angry? Who knows what they could do to you or your lovely inn. For all you know they could have you thinking you cross dress regularly, you go by Martha, fell in love with an alien, and have an irrational fear of turnips."

The old man cuts his eyes at Annie and grumbles, "If there is one thing I can't stand more than a mutant, it's threats. Now get out of here before I call the cops!"

Annie rolled her eyes and replied sharply, "It is only a threat if it is possible for me to act on. If I was threatening you I would have threatened to turn your blood into acid, because, that- that I have the powers to do."

Turning, she tossed her auburn hair over her shoulder and said to Shane, "You can find me at the car. There are other hotels in this city, after all."

The old man turns his back to the group and starts to return to the back room.

Shane looks up at the clock on the wall and notes that it is past midnight. He slides out of Liadan's grip and says flatly, "I kept my promise."

With frightening speed he vaults over the counter and grasps the man around the arms and mouth. The man manages to muffle something of a protest as he is carried into the back room. Shane kicks the door shut without looking back.

From behind the door there is a squelched gurgle and disgusting crunchy squish. Then there is a few seconds of silence, followed by a jingle of keys. The door opens and Shane walks out seemingly revitalized. He smiles and flings a key up in the air. He catches it as it falls and smiles as he opens the waist high door to the other side of the counter.

"Turns out the reunion suite is vacant."

Annie had just made it to the doors and was about to exit when she heard Shane say something about keeping his promise and out of the corner of her eye sees him pounce. Standing there in shock she winces as the sounds of gurgles and a crunch is heard. Shivering slightly she watches as Shane triumphantly holds out the key. At least I don't have to worry about him needing to consume a cow or something now, Annie thought darkly. Then it dawned on her standing by and doing nothing made her an accomplice. She places a hand on her forehead as her headache began again in full force.

Shane notices Annie holding her head. He says reassuringly, "I wouldn't cry for that a*****e. He witnessed a car accident on the interstate last week. He pulled over to see if the family in the car needed help. He found out they were meta-humans and drove off, not even bothering to call 911. The next day he read a story in the paper about a family burning in a car, and he just laughed."

Just as Shane is about to walk over to Annie, his eyes light up as though he remembers something. He goes back to the other side of the counter and opens up the cash register. He empties all of the cash into his pockets and returns to the customer side of the counter.

He looks at the sisters and asks, "Who'd like their allowance?"

((I'M SO SORRY GUYS! I'm on the West Coast of the US and we are getting hit by 14 foot waves and it's getting kind of hairy over here....))

The light in the youngest girl's eyes faded somewhat as the old man spoke of how they were 'different'. She paused for a moment, hurt in those gray orbs. That was the one thing the three always agreed on. How they hated that people treated them as if they were scum. When Shane jumped on him, she tilted her head to the side and giggled brightly.

Jeze felt a small tug at her lips. She smiled brighter and as to, tilted her head as she watched the closed door. When he returned, her smiled faded somewhat.

"You really are like a Dad!" Lia grinned.

Gidget whispers something about returning the favor, and plunges the needle into Trinity's heart. The fluid empties almost immediately into her, then Gidget retracts the needle, waiting for the inevitable.

Trinity's body laid there for a few seconds. Then her breath was stuttering, her body started twitching. Her body then started moving more, her back arches, her arms and legs move uncontrollably. She screams 3 times as her body starts to become more stable.

She opened her glowing eyes and took a deep breath as she started getting over the rush. She noticed a faint, thin purple aura surrounding her skin. It kind of looked like a thin purple myst surrounding her. Checking to see if she had control over limbs first she sits up and looks to Gidget, her green eyes have not stopped glowing. "What did you do to me?" she asks almost not wanting to know the answer. She would admit that she feels as good as new but she didn't like the idea of someone else tampering with her body without her permission.

The huddled mass of a woman sat in the corner of one of the stores in the shopping area of Valhalla. During the chaos, she had been separated from the only person she really felt her knew in this place. Alarms went off, people screaming, panic and disorder everywhere she turned. She had been knocked over at one point. The white clothe around her eyes slipped, and for the second that her eyes were open, pain shot trough her whole body. She had heard gunshots at one time some distance away. And now she found herself here, in what she assumed was a changing stall for a clothing store of some kind... alone, unsure of where she was, and still unable to see. Her clothe gone, she squeezed her eyes shut.

She couldn't ruin all of Gigdet's hard work. She just couldn't. "De... Deora..." She whispered softly, her head pounding to much for her to even dare speak any louder. She crawled on her hands and knees, feeling her way around like some blind mouse. "Where are you?"

Shane noticed the small grin on Jezebels face. He concludes that he was right about her, she is the type that craves chaos. Liadan's comment makes Shane smile just as brightly as her. He hands each of the girls a few twenties and then strides over to Annie.

"Ready to go turn in?"

Gidget rubs Trinity's back gingerly and says, "That was something Teshoumaru discovered how to make a while back. It's basically Ki in a bottle. He told me to handle it myself so that you don't get the bright idea to amp yourself up for a fight. Then Freya hit him, and clarified that he meant that you may come up against an opponent of superior strength and do anything to give yourself an advantage."
