Courtyard (North)

"If I can find them..." he sighed. Of course he could. It was a big school, but not that big, and he could always meet new friends. Now he just wondered what to do here at the courtyard. "Well... do you want to stay here or move on?" he asked.

Hiro and Yuki entered the courtyard, Hiro flying above her and looking around eagerly. Yuki stayed partly hidden in his shadow, long hair swirling around her as she moved, her eyes constantly darting around nervously. Her hand clasped the necklace she now wore and she closed her eyes as she moved, using simply her senses to guide her. She sighed, jumping as she felt someone plop down in front of her. Her eyes opened to see Hiro bent down and looking at her.

Hiro grinned, wings now tucked against his back once more as he looked down at her. "So, what do you want to do?" he asked.

Yuki looked around uncertainly, arms wrapping protectively around herself. "I don't... know," she murmured quietly, eyes falling on a male and female nearby before turning to the ground. She sighed quietly and then looked up at Hiro. "What do you want to do?" she asked softly, tail flicking lazily behind her.

Hiro shrugged and stretched his wings out again, then flapped them once and lifted from the ground. With another twitch, he was in the air, soaring around the courtyard sky. Yuki smiled slightly as she watched him, then walked to the nearest tree and leaned against it, watching him in silence.

Shadow laughed lightly at Jaspers out burst. He knew that dying was nothing to worry about for him and never would be. "Don't you worry about me. I'll be fine." he said with a smile as Jasper backed him into a wall and then laughed into his shoulder.

He couldn't help but smile as she placed a kiss on his lips and then asked him to meet her at the library in a hour. He nodded happily and kissed her once more before she grabbed her cloack from him and walked through the door.

"I'll be there in an hour." he said with a large smile as Jasper turned around waved to him. He did the same and then leaned against the wall and wondered if what had judt happened was realy real or not.

Yuki lowered herself slowly to the ground, eyes darting around warily. She had a tree to her back, but she was still very paranoid, in a new place where she only knew two other people besides herself and Hiro. She sighed quietly, thankful that they had at least worked things out with Dahv. It wouldn't be good gaining an enemy on their first day here. Her eyes flicked upwards to Hiro as he continued flying in various random patterns and she smiled faintly before looking back down.

She held the ice stone away from her chest and stared at it for a moment. Another soft smile played across her lips as she realized it did in fact remind her of Dahv, as the boy had said. Well, it was he who gave it to her. Slowly, she dropped the necklace back against her skin and leaned more comfortably against the tree. With Hiro above, he wouldn't be able to miss if someone tried sneaking up on her. Keeping that thought in mind, Yuki closed her eyes and crossed her arms over her stomach, legs curled beside her in the grass. She appeared to be dozing, but kept her senses alert.

A moment later she blinked awake as Hiro lightly shook her shoulder. She looked up at the male curiously. "What is it?" she asked softly.

He grinned and shook her head. "Come on." Hiro gently grabbed her hand to help her to her feet and then led her from the courtyard.

"I guess we can move on. Could you choose were we go next?" Fayth was hoping to be surprised on were they would go next. She welcome with everyplace they went to. Unlike back home the place permeated stay away all over the place.

"Okay!" he said. He liked being able to explore Ria, without being alone. He liked going to new places with people he knew, it made him feel... safer. Usually he got this sinking feeling that he always got when he played Hide & Seek. Then he freaked out and usually went into a fetal position. He smiled cheerfully and headed onward. The place he was headed for was a mystery... even to him. But he decided eventually to head to the Library. He needed a book or something.

Hiro walked into the courtyard, this time actually walking. He was afraid he'd hurt Yuki if he tried to fly, and that was the last thing he wanted after the scare at the training hall. But, at the very least, he'd discovered he did have some kind of power, even if it was totally defensive. He sighed quietly, looking down at Yuki who seemed to be dozing in his arms. He smiled at her and looked around, approaching the nearest tree. There he sat, placing Yuki in his lap and leaving his arms protectively around her. She was slumped forward, head resting on his chest, and he gently brushed the hair from her face.

Then Hiro settled back, glancing around again. His eyes fell on the large circle of missing cloth on her stomach, where the ice had impaled her, and he quickly shut his eyes and looked away. After his promise to her father to keep her safe... he was the one who injured her! He gritted his teeth angrily and then bent down, whispering in her ear. "I promise to protect you and I'm sorry I've failed so far."

Yuki didn't respond, lost in her dreams, but Hiro simply leaned back, wings spreading from his back and encircling them both protectively.

"Ok well off we go!" Fayth followed Max back to the exit. But she to a second to look behind her at the courtyard, she didn't know why but she felt at peace here. "It's so strange I feel very peaceful here..."  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

With great care and concern, Elspeth sat out her various dolls around the little makeshift table, laying over a table cloth and then proceeding to take out the china tea set that she'd insisted on bringing from home before each of the dolls. Real friends were proving to be quite odd. Or at least slightly less convient as she couldn't pull them from her backpack when she decided that she wanted a tea party.

"There you are, Miss Meredeth. And you, Miss Peaseblossom. And one for you Mister Richardson. It's a lovely day, now, isn't it." She sat herself at the head of the table, smoothing out her dress as she did so. "Let's see. Er... I know this one, I know this one... Animus.. dollium... tea particus?" Her voice raised with uncertainty, but she still waved her wand in a grandious enough fashion as if she knew what she was doing, the faint sound of bells ringing in the air as she passed it over the table. "Bring this tea party to life!"

For a moment, everything was absolutely still and Elspeth had just begun to pout when the tea kettle and the cups proceeded to form a single file line and set themselves for tea. Confusion set in once the sugar dish and the cream dish began to quarrel over who should be next most important after the tea kettle and her dolls remained perfectly still and silent.

"Fishsticks and doorknobs..." She stuck the wand in her mouth, resting her chin in her hands, unamused by the china-altercation playing out before her. Her wings dropped with a miserable slump.

Hiro's wings parted slightly, forming a crack to see through as he heard some noise coming from a bit off and grew curious. He smiled sligthly as he saw the girl from earlier. Elspeth, was it? His wings flipped around and tucked once more against his back, though he did have to lean forward slightly so they could settled between the tree he was propped against. This caused him to glance nervously at Yuki, fearful of waking her. But he sighed as he saw she was still out cold. He assumed it was partly from their match and partly from the injury... He shivered slightly as the image of Yuki with a spear of ice all the way through her stomach and back once more entered his mind. He closed his eyes and waved it away, instead turning his purple eyes back towards Elspeth and her strange but amuseing tea party.  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

"If you're quite finished, Mr. Tea Kettle.. oh, oh no, no, don't pick up that spoon! Sugar dish, you're making.. it's.."

Elspeth's attempts to calm down her china set seemed to go for naught, as the recently animated things reached for the impliments and began swinging them wildly at again other. She reached over to seperate off the cream dish before pulling her hand back in pain at the object's slamming it's lid shut on her finger.

"Ow, ow.. ow... Stupid, stupid.." She struggled for the right word for a moment before picking up her wand again. "Cessation!" With a dramatic gesture and a flick of her wrist, she gestured again at the objects on the table. For a brief second, they stopped moving, but only to turn in unison to look at her and seem quite angry--as far as dishes could express emotions. The tea kettle advanced and Elspeth scrambled up to her feet.

"I--I was just kidding about turning you back into normal dishes.. honest I was.. theres'.. there's no reason for all of you to be so upset..." She glanced left and right at this, snatching her book bag and placing it between her and the flatware. "So.. we can just calm down and have a nice safe tea party with me and my dolls and.. oh, oh, I don't like the looks of that butter knife at all.."

Hiro blinked as he watched the objects fighting, and then turn on the one who gave them motion. He stared as Elspeth backed away, apologizing. Frowning slightly, he got to his feet, lifting Yuki carefully with him, and slowly approached. Though it was amusing to watch, he didn't want anyone getting hurt. Especially when he was easily able to offer help. His eyes fell upon the scene a moment longer before he spoke. "Need some help?" he asked the younger girl, entirely prepared to smash all the objects so they'd be able to move no longer.  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

Elspeth turned, giving an expression of relief as she saw Hiro, and quickly flitting over to hover just behind his shoulder, pointing to the dishes. "They're being quite naughty.. I-I can't unspell them. I must have said something wrong, but I can't and they're looking quite mean and I don't know what to do. I don't hurt things."

"It's just supposed to make the dolls come to live and drink and pour tea and play games and laugh at my jokes. Even the bad ones. I don't know what went wrong." Her voice took on a plaintive, apologetic tone. "Could you.. I don't know.. stop them?"

Hiro nodded, knocking away one of the items as it venture a little too close to his foot. He shifted Yuki slightly in his arms, holding her close and protectively to himself as she still slept. Then he frowned slightly, glancing over his shoulder at the girl. "You don't hurt things?" he echoed. "Well then, would you mind if I do? I don't see a way to make them stop without smashing them." He kicked another away, but not hard enough to break it. He didn't want to ruin her only tea set or something and then get blamed for it or have her cry or something. He frowned at the thought, then pushed it away as he waited for a reply.  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

"Oh please, smash it, smash it, smash it.. I can save up allowance for another less naughty tea set." She nodded quite readily at this. The tea set itself, apparently upon hearing her enlist aid became still for a moment and confusion was held amongst the china pieces. "See, you're going to be sorry that you weren't a nice tea set and didn't listen to me and tried to stab me with a knife, because he's going to smash you to little itty bitty bits and I'm not even going to glue back a single handle!"
