More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Trinity, nodded, "Yeah, I could imagine using it in such a situation. It would be great against Shane...but I'll leave it up to you to decide... I guess the situation is dire, any sign of the Daedalus Project?"

As she waited for Gidget's answer, she noticed Kerana, "Kerana it's okay, you can open your eyes now. I'm alright" she said with a reassuring smile.

Annie nods to Shane's question about turning in and looks up at him and says in an annoyed voice, "I'm not crying for him: I have a headache. The dry air and other things are getting to me."

Sighing, she pinched the bridge of her nose she said, "About my headache... I'd like to talk to you in private, Shane, if possible." Part of her headache was being around Shane, she couldn't get a solid reading of his aura, it was like his old self one minute and the next it was monstrous and/or dark.

Gidget looks up at the monitor and then back to Trinity before shaking her head. "Not a peep thank God. Shane was right, I screwed up bad. When I created the SOP in the event of his escape, it was before Daedalus could read massive gatherings of meta-human signatures.

It's weird though; they could have struck us tens of minutes ago...but they haven't. What do you think that could mean?"

Shane nods and flicks the key over to Jezebel to catch. "Room 207: first set of stairs to the left and then second hallway down. We'll be there in a little bit."

He over to Annie and guides her outside. He asks softly, "What's on your mind?"

Although Shane threw the keys to Jezebel, Kali was the one to grab them. She turned and looked to her sisters. If one was watching close enough, they would see the slight change in her face.

Jeze stared at her sister's face for a moment before she turned to Shane and Annie. "Of course." She nodded as she grabbed Lia's arm and dragged her along with them.

As more of Ako's wits and senses came back to him, he realized that any noise there was earlier had stopped. All was quiet in the empty mall, as far as he could hear. "We better go find her. And we should probably get out of here, too."

"But what if that guy's still on the loose? What if he finds us?" Deora asked. Ako wasn't the only reason she was taking cover, she didn't want to risk running into a guy that cleared out an entire secret facility when he got loose.

"What if he finds your friend first?" Ako pointed out. That seemed to set the girl's decision in stone, as her face dawned a look of determination. "Will you help me find her?"

"Of course." Ako said, getting to his feet. He wobbled for a second but quickly regained his composure. The girl was already up and over the barricade before the words left his mouth. He caught up with her at the entrance of the store as she looked out at the rest of the mall area as she searched for signs of Shane, Justine, or anyone else. "How do you plan to find her?"

"Everyone was going this way, and I bet she was pushed along with the mob." Deora said, setting out into the open corridor. Again Ako had to admire her a little; she was moving quickly, sticking to the wall, where she could find some cover if someone attacked, and her head was on a swivel, looking for any possible danger or sign of her friend. This girl was not just another college kid from the suburbs.

"Hey!" She exclaimed, her voice low, as she picked up a white cloth. "She did go this way, this is her blindfold!" She looked around one more tie, making sure there really was no one around before calling out. "JUSTINE!"

Annie frowned trying to think of the best way to say what she was about to say. At least her headache was subsiding, perhaps because Shane was more like his usual self: his aura felt safe and comforting again.

"Do you remember my secondary power?" Annie asked. "Not the ability to turn my body into liquid but my other power... my power to sense auras of people. Well, it has been bothering me but I can't get a solid reading on yours. Sometimes yours feels good and other times your aura is dark."

"I've figured out the connection though," Annie said gaining confidence as she continued. "It's whenever you're hungering for um.... how can I say this... whenever you're hungry you have a black aura around you. So, let me ask you this, how often do you have to feed so that your satisfied?"

Trinity strokes her chin for a moment and got on her feet. The emergency power switched back to the normal power. "One suspicion is that they are waiting for us to drop our guard and then strike. My other guess is that they may have another plan that they have put into action, like a reconnaissance mission to get a better idea of what they are up against. Lastly and least likely, they are making preparations to take on so many metas perhaps it came unexpected to them as well?"

"I know one way to deal with two of those scenarios and that is to bring the troops in and keep them at the lobby. When they strike they won't see it coming. What do you think?" she turns to Gidget. Then she looks at the spilled viscous liquid and the tubes lying on the ground. She did all of this while she was charging up, "Have you charged up enough?"

It wasn't long before the sisters entered the room. Jezebel rolled her eyes. Suite. Ha. She crossed her arms over her chest as she moved to stand over by one of the walls.

Liadan stayed closer to the door, but far enough away that if someone where to enter, she wouldn't be hit by it.

Kali moved to the center of he room and looked to both her sisters before speaking. "What now?" A slight hint of anger made itself known in her voice

Jezebel shrugged. "We're not really the ones calling the shots anymore. Are we."

"I like them."
"We noticed." Kali snapped back. Lia shrunk back.
"What I don't understand is what is this Project thing Annie escaped from.. And why is she going back?" Jezebel sighed as she leaned against the wall.
"I don't like this."
"You're not the only one."

Lia frowned deeply. She didn't like that she was always the one left out. Kali and Jeze would always team up against her. "What's so bad about Annie and Da-Shane?" Her eyes went wide as she tried to stop herself, then looked to Jezebel.
"Looks like it's time to repress and few more memories of your sweetheart."

Gidget studies the monitors before them. The men were hard at work watching the perimeter. Daedalus has more than enough resources to launch an attack, yet they had held off. Gidget tries to think about what she would do if she were in charge of Daedalus.

Why would I hold off on an all out assault. Maybe if someone important were caught in the crossfire?

"We have a mole."

Shane answers quickly and honestly, "There is no satisfying what I have. The hunger merely gets less intense. What makes it unbearable is when I am injured. The biomass has to process itself in order to heal my wounds."

"The process by which I gained this power was sketchy at best. My body is literally eating itself all the time. In order to maintain itself, it has to process new bio-matter regularly. If I don't get injured, or have to change my shape too often, I can go as long as a month without consuming something."

Annie nodded, "No wonder you were locked up. But what were they going to do I wonder let you just rot in a cell and let the biomass consume you?"

Sighing she said pinching the bridge of her nose, "That really doesn't matter, I suppose: you've escaped, now, and I know you don't plan to return any time soon."

She turned to leave towards the room and paused, her back to him she asked, "How horrible is it that I am using you some for my own motives? It isn't that I don't have feelings for you, it is just that I'm using you for my own means, as well..."

Taking a deep breath she turned towards him and said with a smile, "You really don't have to attack the Daedalus Project with me."

Gidget studies the monitors before them. The men were hard at work watching the perimeter. Daedalus has more than enough resources to launch an attack, yet they had held off. Gidget tries to think about what she would do if she were in charge of Daedalus.

Why would I hold off on an all out assault. Maybe if someone important were caught in the crossfire?

"A mole you say? How can you be so certain?... and... How are we going to narrow it down?" Trinity's questions stringed one after the other.

The blind woman cursed as she heard the shattered glass move to late. She sat back on her knees and winced as she felt the glass stab into her hand. She slowly let out her breath as she tore it out of her left hand and tossed it back to the ground. She paused when she heard something. Covering over her ears, she called out. "DEORA!" She frowned as she rubbed at her eyes. They burned and itched. She rubbed at them, blood now smeared over her face, her ears and hair as well. She sat back so that she stood. Holding her hands out in front of her as she slowly wandered towards the sounds of her friends voice.

Deora wasn't expecting to get two answers back. She recognized Kerana's voice, followed soon by Justine's. "Kerana! Over here!" She called to the fox girl. Maybe the girl's senses would help her find Justine, hopefully they could find her before needing them. She couldn't wait for Kerana, she hurried towards Justine's voice. From what she could make out, it had come from one of the clothing stores. "You go find Kerana!" She called over her shoulder to Ako, "Help her catch up."

"No, you find her. I think I already know where your friend is." Ako said, going past her when she paused in confusion. "What?"

"My power is electricity. You know how sharks can sense those electrical impulses all bodies give off? I've got that. I think I know where your friend is, but there's something... off about her signature." Ako explained.

"Y-yeah." Deora said, not fully understanding what this guy was saying, but going along with it anyway. "Ms. Gidget made her some new eyes."

"Yeah, that's about what I thought." Ako muttered. He knew there was something familiar in Justine's electrical signature. He made his way into the clothing store. It didn't take long before his boots crunched on broken glass, and he saw the blind woman not too far away. "Are you Justine?"

Deora shook her head as Ako went into the store, but decided to go with whatever plan he had and go find Kerana. It didn't take long before she came into view in the wide open area. "Kerana!"
