Courtyard (North)

[Elspeth Armstrong]

"Father! Father! Over here! I want you to meet some of my friends!"

Elspeth came flying over quickly to hug Terry and Hikaru before beaming brightly at them as she landed. "Greetings and salutations, best friends! The fathers of my best friends! Extra person who I do not know the name of!" All were given happy smiles.

"Where is your curtsey, dearest daughter, light of my eyes, glorious fruit of my tree, lady of rainbows, spring time and laughter.." The crowd parted as fairies pushed their way through to lay down flower petals and little satyrs and dryads skipped through and then proceeded to dance small cirlces about as the chariot entered the area. The tall man stepped from the cart, striding over towards Elspeth who curtsied low once to him, and then to the others.

"Sorry father.."

"Now, let us see... what have we before our royal visage... knights no doubt of far-away kingdoms that have come to attend and protect our most precious flower?" He peered down at Tekishe and Tariq at this, and then considered Hikaru. "And a lady in waiting to keep her company and mind her behavior? Splendid!"  

[Misao]

Hikaru giggled at Tekishe's totally cliche double-handguns gesture, and gave her characteristic overly cheerful wave in return.

"Hi, Tekishe! Nice to meet you! I'm Hikaru, and this is Elspeth, but you can call me Hiko, and I just call her El. Can I call you Tek? Is Tek okay? I think I'm gonna call you Tek."

Dr. Yuki wheeled around to face Tekishe, grinning wildly.

"It's so good to see Hikaru making so many wonderful friends! Of course, it's to be expected of my daughter! Right, Hikaru!" At this, he put his hands on his hips, leaned back slightly, and began laughing again.

"Right, dad!" Hikaru mimicked her father's gesture, and the two of them stood there laughing happily together.

Terry's father goes on hugging the air for a moment, then rights himself and turns towards his son's constantly expanding group of friends. "Hello good sir," he says taking Dr. Yuki's hand and shaking it enthusiastically. "It's good to meet the guardians of the children my son will be hanging around with, getting into adventures and breaking the rules with. Good to know who to call at three in the morning when the police come toting the scamps back to home, eh?" Mr. Gelim continues smiling as he continues to shake Dr. Yuki's hand. "Ah to be young again. Sowing oats and what not. Eh? Eh?"  

[Misao]

Dr. Yuki broke form as Terry's father addressed him, responding immediately without missing a beat. "Ah, yes, to have youth once again!"

At this, his eyes flashed briefly behind his glasses. "Hmm... that's an idea! Perhaps I could try that with the next formula... Yes! Yes, that may just work!" He pulled out a notepad and ballpoint pen from inside his coat and began scribbling furiously.


Hikaru, meanwhile, turned to face Elspeth's father, grinning as she does and bouncing excitedly in place.

"Hiya! Nice to meet'cha, Mr. El's Dad!"  

[Tekishe]

"Heck yeah, you can call me Tek, Hiko!" He turns to Elspeth and her father and their elaborate system of fairies and satyrs and other such fey.
"Those things are AWESOME! How did you get so many of them?" He says, once again in wide eyed amazement as he begins wandering over to a nearby fairy. "I'm Tekishe, and it is not just nice, but TOTALLY nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, sir," Terry says to Elspeth's father not knowing if he should bow or what and so instead goes for offering his hand. "This is my dad," he points to the man who is now repeatedly elbowing Dr. Yuki twitching his eyebrows and saying "Eh? Eh?" Over and over again.

Mr. Gelim smells strongly of patchouli insense and his clothes look to be the exact oposite of Elspeth's father's. For every royal pomp and adorment the fairy king displays, Mr. Gelim has a hemp necklace or hand sewen pants. "Eh? Eh?" He continues.

Terry looks not unlike a tomato, his skin matching his hair.  

[Misao]

Dr. Yuki, at this point, is too busy scribbling down notes to take much notice of Mr. Gelim's stomach-elbowing. He simply nods, making little 'mm-hmm' affirmative noises every so often as he works out his various equations and theories. After some time, he thrusts his notepad triumphantly into the air, his glasses glinting dramatically in the afternoon sunlight.

"Yes! I've done it! Another breakthrough for the amazing Dr. Yuki! With this, I will be able to not only save the environment, but create the mystical fountain of youth! It's a GOOD-THING-I-EXIST!"

He punctuates each of these last four words with dramatic posturing, ending in a pose with his notepad and ballpoint pen extended out before him. He clicks the pen rapidly as he freezes in this final pose, as if to underscore the importance of this even more.

Mr. Gelim leans over looking at Dr. Yuki's notes. "So, what you working on bud? Anything imporant? Saving the enivronment you say? Eh, how you doing that?" For a moment he takes on a serious look to his eye. "You, some kind of scientist or something?" There is an air of suspician in Mr. Gelim's voice.

Meanwhile, Terry begins picking up his bags and organizing them, looking again at his watch and at around the campus to see if he can find the dormatories.  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

Ellohim, lord of the fairies, stood regally and greeted Terry's hand with a pat on the head and a smile. He then turned to Mr. Gelim and raised a brow at the man seeming to have no idea of what to make of this for a moment before he smiled widely.

"AH! A jester! How amusing, these mortal jokes! Yes!" He bent down to look at Hikaru, closely.

"Now, as her lady in waiting you will be in charge of making sure she behaves. Of course, the usual suspects will need to be explained--her needle work does need something to be desired." He nodded at Hikaru at this, knowingly.

Elspeth seemed to be blithely unaware of any odd things happening about her, smiling brightly at Tek. "My father doesn't like travelling without an entourage. Once he only went with a fawn and a flower girl but I hear bad things happen." She leaned in close to whisper in a conspiratoral voice. "It involves a water jug." With that she nodded earnestly, as if everyone would understand her.

Dr. Yuki turned back to Mr. Gelim, brandishing his notes proudly. Most of it was just total gibberish, even to someone who would normally understand the kind of work he does. There were chemical structures of various nutrients interspersed throughout, however, and lots of little hand-drawn nuclear symbols and stick figures of people flexing their tiny stick-muscles, with dramatic action lines coming from them.

"Why, yes! Yes I am! I am the world's foremost genius of the nutritional sciences, and I have just developed a wonderful serum that will enable me to save the environment!"

He indicated Hikaru briefly, talking at about a mile a minute. "You see, my daughter here drank my last concoction and gained - well, I suppose most people would call it 'super speed.' If I can recreate the exact circumstances leading to this unique genetic alteration, and mass-market this drink, then everyone would be able to move as quickly as she can! You know what this means, right?" Dr. Yuki moved on into the next part of his explanation without waiting for any sort of response on Mr. Gellim's part. "Yes! Exactly! It means that automobile transport will become obsolete! People will be able to travel that fast by their own means! Less pollution means less wear and tear on the environment, and the eventual disappearance of our dependency on already diminishing levels of fossil fuels!"

Dr. Yuki continued to rant about this at Mr. Gellim, while Hikaru listened intently to Elspeth's father. She nodded slowly, not really understanding most of what he was saying, but figuring it amounted to something akin to 'be a good friend,' which was something she felt she was equipped to handle.

"'kay!" she said, saluting. "You can count on me, sir!"  

[Tekishe]

Tekishe turns his ear towards Elspeth when she comes near. "Whoa. I have no idea what that means." He say, intensly amazed. Shaking his head a few times he bounds into the centrer of the three. "Hopefully my parents arrive soon, 'cuz I really want you all to meet 'em."

As he ends the ground begins to shake as a large, black rift appears in space a little bit behind Tekishe. The weaker willed of the students take off in terror, with a few of the runners being sucked in as it begins to grow. By the time it has formed into a rough circle about seven feet in height tow figures can bee seen walking towards the opening. One, a Six and a half foot tall, flaiming humaniod with very reptilian features wearing a fedora and a rain coat, and the other seems to be a short, kindly middle aged woman in a mages robe and a hat similar to Tekishes. They soon step out, follwed by a trail of small Earth Elementals carrying boxes.
"Uhg, it's freezing here." the flaming lizard remarks as he steps out of the portal. The women is quick to respond. "Now be nice, dear."

"Dad! Mom!" Tekishe yells as he runs towards them, ready to hug.

Mr. Gelim nods at Dr. Yuki's statements. "Yes, I see. Brillant! Sir, I like the way you think!" He nods vehimently and turns towards Ellohim.

"See, this guy," He pats Ellohim on the back. "This guy knows the evils of automobiles, don't ya buddy?" He gives Ellohim another pat on the back.

Meanwhile, Terry groans, having collected all of his belongings and viewing the spectacle that was his father. He looks over at Tekishe. "You're lucky your parents aren't here eith--"

Terry decided to stop talking.  

[Xavior Bushido]

Shadow walked through the Courtyard door with Jasper by his side. He held her hand happily as he looked around for a "friend" his. He had not told Jasper the Riedonu was nothing of the sort. He was more of a man that Shadow knew through other problems that had arisen in his life anad was always stocked with things that were needed for travel.

"Now when we get to Riedonu, let me do the talking...he's a bit hard to get along with." he told her under his breathe as he spotted Riedonu across the courtyard.

"So Shadow, I see that you have found me once more...must not be hard for a stinkin wolf to do." Riedonu spat as Shadow a Jasper walked up to him. He looked Jasper over and smiled slightly. "Why hello...what's this? For me...you shouldn't have." Riedonu sneered as a reached out with a dirty hand for Jasper.

Shadows stepped in Riedonus way and placed a hand on his blade. "Wasn't too hard. A blind human could sniff your foul stench out.You know why we're here. Now make with the suppies. I'm not in as good of a mood as I was the last time we meet." Shadow contorted. His voice dripped with danger and rage. "And if I ever see you attempt to lay a grubby paw on her again, and I'll cut it off." he whispered dangerously.  

[Misao]

Hikaru's attention, riveted as it was on the splendor of the faerie court accompanying Elspeth's father, immediately shifted to the scene taking place near Tekishe. She watched on, wide-eyed and still bouncing excitedly in place, as the robed woman and large flaming lizard-man-thing came walking out of the black void. She pointed at the portal the entire time it was opening, and kept right on pointing as Tekishe's parents materialized out of it, her mouth hanging open in surprise. Finally, after about thirty seconds or so, she was able to form words once again.

"THAT WAS SO COOL!"

She went running over to the two of them after Tekishe, eager to meet even more cool people.

"These are your parents, Tek?! That's awesome! Where the heck are you from, anyway?"  

[Elspeth Armstrong]

Noting distress in someone who she'd declared as her friend, Elspeth fluttered over to Terry, watching him curiously before landing at his side. For once, she seemed to be focused on him, placing a small hand on his back. "You seem upset. I could make a teddy bear dance for you, if it would make you smile.."

"Automobiles--ah! The new human carriages, you speak of.. you, you must be a druid, yes, and you an alchemist! It all becomes clear, so long have we been away that we have trouble keeping track of such changes." Magnanimously, he placed a hand on Mr. Gelim and Dr. Yuki's shoulders.

"I caution you in your human experimentation. The church used to cause great trouble when we would make changelings of children only a short five hundred years hense... beware their bells." His voice held the same earnest tone as his daughter's with this proclaimation.
