A Necromancer and his Pupil (an adventure to end all )

[Kang_the_Knight]

Sibgib nodded excitedly "Oh yes, that is true, but that makes it all the more challenging, and exciting" he said, jumping onto the table, much to Marron's dispapproval "Shall we bind the bargain with magic, or shall we work with our words?" he asked.
Silence met his question. Many of them were liars, or lied quite easily, and had the resources to make sure such lies were kept up.
"Magic then." Marron smiled, ignoring the slightly dirty boots on his dining table.
He waved his hand, a ceremonial dagger appearing in it. The other eleven did the same, their faces either reluctant or expectant.
"By this bargain are we bound/ By the winter fall/ If an apprentice is not found/ This girl will be taught by all" they intoned, each findign the words floating about the room.
Marron slit his wrist and poured a measure of his blood into his goblet, mixing the wine and blood. His cut sealed up instantly afterward.
"Drink, and let us finish this feast!" he said, smiling widely, motioning for a pair of hulking skeletons forward. They were immediately set upon one another, the necromancers enjoying the spectacle, for two of their own were controlling the undead, though whom they did not know.
It was entertainment of another kind.
"I do hope you enjoyed that my dear" Marron said to Anya, an amused smile on his face as he spoek to her quietly.

Anya smiled back at Marron. "I didn't expect to be so important." She said blushing a bit. "I am not used to attention." She was still smirking as she looked at the other necromancers.  

[Kang_the_Knight]

"Oh, don't be so modest. You're the first pupil of death in nearly a century! How could you not be inportant my dear?" Marron asked, sipping the bloodied wine.

For only a moment, if you looked at her from the corner of your eye Anya's hair flashed blond and then was back to normal. She sipped her wine and smiled pleasantly, perhaps she could get used to things being this way. She cleared her throat and addressed the others. 'So, where will you look for pupils?"

Marron smiled as the necromancers answered, though each was cryptic in their method. All in all, they didn't give a straight answer, trying to keep it a secret.
Sibgib was the only one who gave a strait answer "I will search for my pupil in my former home. Where else would one look for a gnomish apprentice?" he said, quite amused by the other necromancer's answers.

Anya grinned at Sigbid, already she liked him. "And you believe you will find one?" She said in a sharp jesting tone. "As far as I know gnomes are not exactly drawn to magic, all be it dark magic."  

[Kang_the_Knight]

"My distant nephew was magically adept, and he has an open mind" Sibgib replied with a crooked smile.
"Well, looks like we already have a second apprentice for the next generation. And not even an hour after the bargain was made" Marron chuckled, sipping his wine.
"Yes well, Sibgib has proven to be a sly one" a willow thin woman said, sittin in the tallest of chairs "...his mind is ripe with the fruit of thought, while some is filled with withered husks...."
"Thank you Helgia" Sibgib said charmingly. He had been trying to get under those particular skirts off and on for nearly three decades.

Anya nodded with a smile. "I would call it planning ahead but I do not believe that would be the right term, given that you are the one who suggested the bargain. Anya titled her head toward Marron. "In fact I believe striking a bargain you have already won is a bit like cheating." She giggled.  

[Kang_the_Knight]

"There's a good deal of that amongst the followers of Chemosh" Marron chuckled, drawing other laughs from the gathered necromancers.
"Aye, that is true!" a rougish, almost piratey man said, smiling with his scared lips.
"Hark, the pirate speaks" another said sarcastically.
"Harhar"

Anya laughed, she guess a sense of humor was something one had to have in this line of work.

Marron sat back in his chair-throne, the last of the other necromancers leaving. He put his forehead in his hands and sighed.
"Did you enjoy that Anya?" he asked, cheerily looking up to her. He even threw in a smile to try and goad one from her.

Anya smiled softly and nodded to Marron. "It was..." She paused as if she couldn't find the right word. "Interesting."  

[Kang_the_Knight]

"Come now" Marron chuckled "Do not think you cannot ellaborate of your own opinion" He reached over and stroked her cheek. A small smile appeared on his pale grey features.
