Hey all, well I'll just follow the trend I'm seeing.

Technically I'm a recent fan, but then again I started on the old episodes rather than the new ones. Only about three years ago. (I think, whenever it was that the new Doctor Who was first advertised.

I was talking to my mother and a commercial for NewWho came on and she started telling me how she watched it when she was younger and loved it. Then randomly my local PBS played Sontaran Experiment (just one episode I don't know why) so I am now a rabid Who fan.

I've got a couple DVDs and I would have more if I had money. I like Dr. 4 best and I am yet undecided about the newer Doctor.

I love the audio plays I have to admit curse my lack of money. I am knitting myself a 4th doctor scarf. I love the odd things you can find on the internet so yay for that.

The only problem is I don't HONESTLY know how to knit so I keep having to start over since the directions are for someone who isn't incapable.

Hi, Allahura!
You could get one of those knitting hoops I see in the craft stores these days...I saw one last week that was a narrow rectangular shape instead of a circle & I think it said you can make scarves with it. I was pondering getting one myself, as all I ever learned to do was crochet. (See ungainly, itchy crocheted scarf I made over in the Scarf thread!)

Oh see, that would make it easier but it still implies some skill, you seem to misunderstand just HOW incapable I am. ^_^

Thanks Eirwyn.

I gess I'm kinda a new fan of Doctor Who. I also have an odd obsession with Daleks. My freind Euan told me about Doctor Who, and I've been a fan ever since. My favorite Doctor is Tom Baker.

Hi, I'm Basil. I've been a Doctor Who fan for about four months [wow this is starting to sound like a group therapy introduction] but I became obsessed rapidly. I'd been planning on watching for about a year but could never afford to buy a DVD and even then I didn't know which one I should get, so when Sci-fi started playing the new ones I was exited beyond all levels of normality. I'm taking in as much as I can as fast as I can. So yeah...

Hey there everyone, I'm Electric Roses but people online tend to call me just Roses for short. I really got into Doctor Who just last year, when the first series started in the UK. I was visiting my dad for a few days and it just so happened he was dying to see how they'd done the new version of Doctor Who, so we all sat down and watched it. As soon as I saw the first one and I fell in love with it, I watched it every week avidly until the series finished and then went out buying as many of the old DVDs as I could find ^_^

I also love visiting the Docotor Who museum in Blackpool, along with "The Who Shop", which isn't too far from here, to see all the original monsters and costumes and buy as much merchandise as I dare. I like collecting the older merchandise as well as the new, my favorites are my 2 holographic post cards from the 80s, of the Daleks and the Cybermen. I also subscribe to the magazine here in the UK, and occasionally get the comic for it's free gift xd The one thing I haven't yet got but desperately want is the remote control K-9... Hopefully I will get it pretty darn soon!

I guess all that is pretty much about why I love the show and how much, I'll just write a little more about me. I live in the UK in a town called Preston, I'm 18, I'm female, and I'm obviously a bit of a geek! (well a total Dr. Who geek xd ). I'm a little bit of an X-Men fan and I also love video games, mainly fighting games. Of course I like music too, mainly gothic styled music- not metal, not marylin manson, not satan. Just gothic rock, darkwave and the like... I think I've gone on a little too long... Sorry about that folks! xp

Wehay! I got accepted! So, about me. My name is Duke Erikson and I am 16. I've been watching Doctor Who since the 1996 film came out, which, in my opinion, was a bit shite. And all my friends think I'm nuts. They recon I am the only fan-boy of the 10th Doctor in our school. But not my boyfriend. He thinks it's cool becuase he is one to. So, that's pretty much it. Boring eh?

I have been a Doctor Who fan since I ran across it by accident at 6 one Saturday morning in the 80's. It was "Robot" with Tom Baker, and he impressed on me, so he is my favorite Doctor. I met my husband in the Doctor Who Room at a convention a couple of years after the show went away. He said he married me for my Doctor Who knowledge. I taped every show from the local PBS station, and now we are collecting the DVD's. I guess that makes me a rabid fan.

Aaaagh.
I've pretty much known Doctor Who's existence for as long as I can remember, my whole immediate family being rather big fans.
Me, I was infected. Whovianism is contagious.
So, yeah.

Previous attempts at Who-related computer devving include the Doctor Who MUD(Canned due to constraints caused by lack of Javascript knowledge and Windows not having built-in Telnet support. MS sucks!) which may one day return, and a Doctor Who-based Inform 7 project which I never really got around to coding. I finished the TARDIS though, and I was just developing a travel system when school started again. I might start again sometime. Anyway, now I'm developing dEVros, an Escape Velocity plugin. But I just need to familiarize myself with the EV Nova ResEdit-style engine, and then create a starmap. God, it's going to take FOREVER. But it'll be fun. xp

Anyway, every jab at programming deepens my level of binary zen and my Cyberman-Brain. Every crash, every bug, every failed attempt, every line of code, every spöb and sÿst and STR# and dësc, they all enhance my understanding of that which is computing.

My favourite Doctor is somewhere between Tom Baker and Patrick Troughton, though I really like William Hartnell, and Sylvester McCoy's good too. I am a devout Tennant-Hater(I also dislike RTD. The fool!), I am one of the two founding members of the Patrick Troughton Underground Resistance Front(P.T.U.R.F.) and I am a Mac OSX user(Cult Of Mac), Anti-Microsoft Activist, and Apple Computers Supporter. I also like zombie films and video games that make you think. domokun
