Courtyard (South)

[Oni_Makibi]

Oni was growing bored. She had no idea where she should go next and something was bothering her. She could hear a conversation going on behind her: there were two girls and a young man walking together. Oni could see the obvious tension between the two females. Upon a little closer observation, she noticed that one of the girls was viciously attacking the other with snooty comebacks. Though Oni did not know the other girl, she felt that it was necessary to help her. She looked like she had been holding back tears.

Birds are very interesting creatures. In flight they are majestic and serene. However every so often, they do things out of that character. Tetsuo's always saying I should use my powers to help others... she wont know what happened...

Concentrating on the three birds in flight nearby, she separated one using a harmless downdraft. She wanted to make sure she didnt hurt the bird's wings by stressing them too much with the air. She then manuvered the bird behind the girl. When the time was just right, she sent the bird flying directly into the snobby girl's long hair, unintentionally tangling the poor creature in her tresses.

Seiya blinked and let go of Liuz; A wide smile spread across Seiya's features, "I know I'm vain, but do you know why?"

She paused.

"It's because I love myself, far more than almost anything in this world. I am the only person who won't let me down,"

She grew quiet.

"But you can't say that for yourself, now can you Ms. Tomoro?" She nearly whispered, cruelty dripping from every syllable.

"Don't be upset and angry, its the truth, face it. That's why you behave like that."

She stepped over the branches, too careful about bruises to trip over anything.

"I know you want to hurt me, don't you? Well, I don't want to hurt you; I don't bear you any ill-will in particular, this is just how I am. I tell the truth about what I think or feel. Once again, can you say the same?"

Seiya was pushing Tomoro's buttons with practiced ease.

"Besides, I don't believe I have any interest in Liuz, other than maybe being vaguely-friendly associates...and that's a stretch."

She paused and looked Tomoro in the eye. "Well?"

"Liuz obviously doesn't think this is becoming of two young ladies..."

[Didn't mean to ignore you, I just didn't see your post sweatdrop ]

Seiya looked annoyed and carelessly plucked the bird from her hair, dropping it to the ground, bored.  

[Truffles Unwrapped]

Liuz looked quite blank. Had he started something he didn't intend to? He sighed. "My apologies to both of you. I think I've clashed some heads and I merely wanted to ease a little tension. I'll leave you both to your own devices. I do hope we run across eachother again at a later date." He nodded to both girls.

"Miss Kurousai," He tipped his hat "A pleasure."

"Miss Mihara," He removed the small book from inside his coat pocket, "I would advise you to keep a closer eye on your things... Not everyone is a friendly as I am."

With that, he limped off towards the Boys dorm.

"Luiz..." She whispered, looking down, her hands clenching eachother. Great... I had a chance to make some new friends... and I blew it. Of course, why would they want to be friends with someone like... me...? Sighing lightly, Tomoro knew that bird hadn't flown in Seiya's hair by accident. Plants could tell wind patterns, and someone had done it. Tomoro silently smiled to herself, closing her eyes, looking down at her wrist. I just... wanted... some friends...

Standing up, Tomoro nodded to the girl who had appeared out of nowhere; she was probably the one who had redirrected the bird. Pushing her hair back, she said no more, and then called out. "Luiz... you're heading the wrong way to your dorm. It's this way." Of course Tomoro knew which way it was; she was heading to her own private dorm, and she had to pass through many other places first. The way Luiz was taking would just head him to the Dining hall. About the other girl... Tomoro didn't really care. She could go do something else if she wanted to, it didn't matter.

With that, Tomoro sighed, and stood up straight, heading off to her dorm for some relaxation.

Oni watched the girl flick away the bird without a second thought. She had hoped her little prank would be a lot more embarrassing for her, but now Oni saw that the girl would not be so easily broken.

"Now what was it you were trying to do? If it was cripple an innocent creature, I'd say you definately accomplished that" Tetsuo teased Oni. She quickly shot him a nasty look.

"You weren't offering any better ideas, Einstein. Go get the bird, please..."

Without waiting for him to protest, Oni tossed Tetsuo's little furry body over the back of the bench. Upon doing so, she caught the acknowledgement of the girl she had tried to help, and returned her nod.

Oni watched Tetsuo teeter over towards the bird out of the corner of her eye. By the time he reached it, the bird had flown away to rejoin its group. She couldn't help but laugh a bit. Not only was she relieved that the bird was alright, it was funny how its sudden take off startled Tetsuo. He silently returned to the bench, obviously looking embarassed.

"You usually aren't one to interfere, Oni... that was pretty reckless of you." said Tetsuo as Oni picked him up and placed him in her lap.

"I just didn't like the way she was being treated. She only wanted to help... besides, I feel like I know her somehow."

"Still, you didn't know the situation. It wasn't fair of you to just choose sides like that. You're still a child, my Oni... I want you to be careful."

Oni looked up at the sky. The bird was long gone by now.

Seiya blinked amd took her book from Liuz, "T-thank you?" She seemed confused as to why he'd given it back so easily.

She pondered as she stared at the cover, shrugging she turned and left the courtyard to go to her tutoring session.

Oni stood up and stretched.

"So, about research. Where do you suppose we can find some information about what we're looking for? I know this place has a huge library, but where exactly do we look?"

"Well, we're going to have to collect things from a lot of different sections: history, magic, etc... It's gonna take us a while before we find something, if something is actually there..."

Oni sighed at his answer. She didn't like when things weren't easy to find. "Well, what are we waiting for...? Let's go find your body." With that, Oni picked up Tetsuo and they made their way to the Library.

Bored with the fact that the only people there seemed to be either flirting or fighting Kuro walked off wondering what to do now.Spend the day in solitude...Go somewhere else....Study...That's all I have to choose?Some choices....He thought as he continued walking through the courtyard.

Ewan walked into the courtyard. It was beautiful, with green grass and plenty of trees. No students were around, and it was silent save for the sound of the birds.

I could get used to this... thought Ewan, smiling a little. He walked over to a large tree and sat down on the grass underneath it. He glance d around, just to be sure no one was looking, and he leaned up against the trunk of the tree, completely relaxed.

He began to hum quietly, and soon burst into quiet mumbled song.

"Before you left to go awa-ay I wrote down what I couldn't say... I bet yoou read it on the ro-oad with foggy lights and, fingers cold..."
