Alec had taken to his training well. The new found confidence went a long way in strengthening his connection to the wolf spirit within him. He also had to admit that it felt good when Nova came to him in regards to alchemy. He wasn't good at a lot, so being better than Nova at something went a long way.

He glanced over his shoulder at Kerana and then looked back to Nova.

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. It was a work in progress, but he was steadily becoming more assertive.

"There's going to be a problem if she's chosen. I cannot stand idly by and let her put herself in harms way. Not only will I not stand for it, but the magical collar will kill me if I try to hold back."

Nova smiled to himself. The boy was showing more promise. Besides it is always nice to see something you nurture grow.

"We can work with that. I'll explain it to them. They do not desire death to be the result of this Rite. I am hoping they will chose either you or Trinity. I get a feeling I have to fight my wife when she sees me." Nova said with a sigh.

Kerana loved it when Alec asserted himself to some degree. It made her really glad that he was her guardian. Then she heard Nova's concern about his wife, "Did you not leave in good terms? Was she afraid she would never see you again?"

PostPosted: Mon Mar 23, 2015 1:07 pm
Nova found himself with a fond smile as he remembered her. Which quickly turned into a laugh.

"It's just their way. A fight for dominance. She has certainly earned the right since I've been away for a while. She knew I had to leave. She was....very vocal in voicing her opinion. Physical too." Nova pulled down the collar of his shirt to reveal a claw mark on his chest." But I won and left the next day. Yes it sounds cold but I had something bigger to worry about. " Nova explained as he looked at Trinity during the last part. " I think the majority of her anger was because she knew I didn't have long to live and it could have been the last time she'd see me."

"Anyway, don't get surprised if she charges at me out of nowhere. Just let me handle it. It's forbidden to intervene in a fight without a very good reason. And you are all outsiders so.....I honestly don't know what they will do to you if you do."

((OOC: Geebus! I had a nice long juicy post and just when I was about to post it... my phone died on me gonk Sorry it took so long to post but here we go...))

Trinity looked down and away as Nova looked at her. She felt having robbed of his child of her father's last moments. It wasn't hard to tell that he is a very good father. She saw how he was with Kerana and Alec, even as his student she could see it. What a great fatherly figure he is. She had wished her father was more like him instead of wasting himself away on alcohol when business turned south.

That train of thought led her to think of the memories she had of her father. The first thing that came to mind was his last day. His eyes were filled with disapointment looking down upon her from his cross. He spat in her face and rubbed it in on how she came too late.

She paused and tried to remember a better time. Through countless dark nights of drunkenness and beating her mother, and him balling the next morning about his actions the night before. There were more fonder memories in her younger age, one of which made her smile. It was the day her father discovered that she took an interest in his craft. The expression on his face was that of an unexpected surprise, a good one. This came across his face as he observed her trying to do what he did with a little hammer and scrap metal on the anvil. He then did not hesitate to teach her everything he knew of black smithing. He was at his best when he was sober and this reflected in his work.

At the time it was hard for her to tell which came first. The bad news that his business was going sour or the drinking that made the news ten times worse? Or was it too much celebratory drinking which led to the news? But whatever the matter, it did not matter now.

She looked to Nova. Although it is true, she wouldn't have had any clue as to how she would fulfill the profecy, or a proper teacher that could teach her the trade of magic arts, she needed him. Yet it still felt awful to rob his child of a great father. He may be able to carry on by being reborn and so forth, but what of his wife, what of his family? She promised herself that she would ensure that Nova would return, alive or dead. Though she hoped for alive, but she and her party will only see what fate has designed.

Alec's tail bristled with frightful anticipation. It was the same reaction he had to being home. All he could feel at either place was a sense of tension that was soon to boil over. At home it was because of their wolf nature and their displeasure with the fox-kin. Here was different. It was more natural, almost as if it was the status quo.

Alec almost reached a hand out to take hold of Kerana's, but he stayed himself at the last moment. He hadn't forgotten what she said in the woods. Holding her hand, and not pulling her to safety, would be overstepping his boundaries. He didn't look at her, and he didn't say anything regarding it.

"If you need it, I made burn remedy on the way here. Just in case." Alec offered.

Nova noticed Trinity's avoiding his gaze. Why?

"Good thinking. We may need some later."

"One last thing....once they've granted us passage....do not take accept any gifts from the opposite gender. Accepting means that you also accept their claim to your heart. If you accidentally do so Kerana, I'm using you as an example because you are the kindest among us and might find it hard to turn down a gift, you'd have to return that same gift. If he declines....fight him and win. Alternatively, accept something from Alec or give something else to Alec. Then they would fight over you. Like I said...it can get complicated and they do like to fight."

Kerana blushed a little as Alec attempted to take hold of her hand. But as stayed himself, she remembered why he would do that. Am I being too cruel? It's better this way isn't it? It was too risky before… especially if the elders find out… She bit her lip. His new found confidence made him more irresistible. Is it really better this way?

"That being said. Let us proceed.." Nova said and let the group out of the long tunnel. Strangely enough it seemed that the heat only increased. Nova shielded his eyes from the sunlight that welcomed them. As his eyes adjusted he was greeted again with the strange sight of this part of the land. His eyes gazed upon a valley. Despite the heat nature flourished. Strange big red and black trees donned the landscape. The handful of large patches teemed with a yellow/orange grass that refused to die in this heat.

Rock was naturally in abundance since they were on a mountain with an active volcano. But even they seemed to almost radiate a certain red glow Something you think you see from the corner of your eye but never when you stare directly at it. The only thing more bizarre seemed to be a sort of squirrel if you could call it that. It resembled it but it had scales instead of fur. It didn't seem to have ears but when it jumped out of a tree, it's ears unfolded . Long ears that normally are folded on his back acted as wings to glide. It landed on a large black piece of fruit that grew from the trees. It had a perfect smooth almost reflective surface. And yet as the creature dug into it's meal the liquid that dripped out was blue which attracted smaller insects.

"Welcome to Vovinia."

cat_eek Kerana looked around, "Woah..." she never has heard nor seen any place like this. Not event the text books covered the Dragon race, because there was so little known about them and their culture.

It was so hot here, part of her was tempted to just go around in her bikini but it wouldn't be good for Alec to get distracted, so she stuck with her summer outfit. Patting her self as they went with a little towel to absorb all the sweat. It was amazing how resilient the plant life was here and yet no amount of their shade would help cool off from the heat.

Nova smirked a bit at her reaction. He did the same when he first saw this place.

"I had that same look in my eyes at first. Not many people are allowed here so not much is known about it. A few successful interactions with outsiders have let to the integration of cows into the ecosystem and the Dragon-Kin wearing clothes. Their natural scales cover the necessary bits plus the heat do make clothes a bit redundant. But the majority of the people here enjoy wearing a little bit of clothing. It's seen as something exotic" Nova explained and took off his robes, leaving him only with his pants and shoes. And the wristbands ofcourse. His body was well toned and almost flawless. If it wasn't for the claw scars made by his way.

A figure walked amongst the red and black tree's slowly yet gracefully almost like he was floating. He had white hair and lizard like eyes which were red in color his face was graceful yet handsome with a body to match. His clothes were a chest piece that looked like lava rocks with spikes coming from the shoulder plates going down his spine leading to a large black tail that followed behind him. On his back were large black wings folded up for he was walking and not using them. His legs had the same type of armor though spikes came forth from his knee caps and three smaller spikes on his shoes. He had no smile only a blank face seemingly void of emotion. He did not sweat even in the heat and didn't seem to blink either as he walked through the forest. His gaze fell upon the group who just came out from a tunnel and seemed amazed and excited about being here.

He sniffed slightly and smiled a bit as he thought to himself "Lets greet these new people...Maybe they can help me around here as well." with that he lifted his powerful wings and flapped them once to send him heading towards them, making sure not to fly to fast so they do not think him hostile. On his side a strange hilt sat and clanked but it seemed that no blade was on it. His hair blew crazily in the wind, the ponytail it was in had come undone by the take off and let the man's long flowing white hair fly behind him completely uninhibited. He touched down about 10ft away from the group gently touching the ground though a loud thump could be heard as his feet hit the ground. "Hello there! I am Goruk. I am also new to this land though my appearance would say otherwise i'm sure." he chuckled to himself as he awaited them to respond in kind or attack him.

The fox girl couldn't help but stare. She caught herself and blushed. "I'm sure. Oh-oh forgive me for staring, I've never seen a dragon kin before." She stepped forward, "Hiya, I'm Kerana." as usual she used her illusionary magic to create sparkles of light around her. If you don't mind my asking, are you from another dragon kin city?"

He looked to her and took her hand giving it a kiss on the top. "No I honestly couldnt tell you where I hail from." He then asked his own question "What of you? What brings you here?"
