Off to take a shower, get dressed... and then have some lunch.
Be back in a bit.

I'm back.
Decided to work on my novel a bit more. Focusing on the battle scene right now... and trying to get some inspiration from some of the good battle scenes I've read in some of the books I've got. Fighting battles isn't a common thing I write, so it takes me awhile to get some good action scenes going.

It's still amazing to think of how far I've come as writer in just a few months. In the past, whenever I wrote a story, the longest would've been about 30-40 pages. Mostly because I got so caught up in researching for different things (i.e. names, places, etc.) that after awhile I got tired of the story idea and either never finished the story (usually deleting the whole thing entirely) or rushed to finish it.
Now, after taking my Creative Writing classes and developing a new writing technique, I've gone way beyond that old page amount. Right now I'm at about 140 pages... and I'm not even done with the novel yet! :D So proud of myself!

I think my big battle scene turned out pretty nicely, thanks to some inspiration from some of the book battle scenes I was looking at. For someone who doesn't do much battle writing, I'm pretty impressed with it. *shrugs* We'll see whether I still feel the same way later on when I finish this first draft of the novel.

I do have to say though that the gruesome imagery I put into the battle scene is a bit unnerving for me... because... against it's not something I usually write about. Usually. I'm sure there's a bit of a dark side to me underneath it all that I don't want to dwell into, because I'm afraid of what might come out. *shrugs* Hard to say... but it could be expected with me having a bit of an interest in Gothic stuff and Edgar Allan Poe. That should speak enough about what could potentially happen if I dived into the more darker side of my imagination.

And I think that's all of the writing I'm going to do at this moment. I finished the parts I wanted to work on and I'm pretty pleased with them.
So, now... just a bunch of random posts here I guess.

In case, you are wondering... I'm doing a bit searching for outfit ideas for my main character and possibly other characters for my story. I did a few outfit designs... but it would be nice to expand my characters wardrobe with more options.

*shakes head as she looks at one of the pictures of a dress that came up* That is so not an Asian styled dress. That's Gothic. There's nothing Asian about the style. More like Celtic. *rolls eyes*
