More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

[Nova Blancke]

Theonis raised an eyebrow in surprise. "And I thought my powers were multi functional. So lemme get this straight...as long as there is darkness you can use your power on it?" Theonis asked eagerly. He was curious about her power now. Although his mind did drift to the more dangerous uses of it. Bad habit of his. "You're not gonna take my keys are you?" He said with a joke.

So she can like what? Pull out organs if she wants to?" Theonis made sure to keep that thought to himself. No need to find out.

After she placed the unshelled egg next to its shell. She looked up with a sparkle in her eyes as she saw that last thing he said as a challenge. Her hand still rested on the table he may have felt something being pulled from one of his pockets his pockets. She pulled out his keys and said, "You mean, these keys?" with a jingle she placed the keys in front of him. "Yeah, pretty much, as long as I'm connected to shadow and the shadow is dark enough I can use it."

That caught him off-guard despite asking for it. It felt odd...having something vanish from your own pockets without someone taking it. He couldn't help but wonder over the....more dirty applications of her power. He did in no way show this on his face however.

"Yes...those keys. I was kind asking for that wasn't I?"

To make sure she wasn't going to take the egg he just ate it. 2 bites were enough for that thing.

"Well..you really do have an interesting ability. First thing I did wa-" He said but didn't finish the sentence because the incident popped up in his head again."Never mind..."

His reaction reminded her of something he had said earlier...

Flashback

Theonis sighed."Yeah, things don't always go as planned when it comes to these things. At least you didn't kill a bunch of people because of your power.."

Good going dude! Second time today you said that to a stranger! What ever happened to not caring about it? Theonis quickly shook it off

...she could tell there was more depth to that than what he said.

Trinity could tell he was uneased by what he was about to say and she could fill in the blank. She hoped she had seen this enough times to know what to say. She held his hand in hers and look him in his golden eyes. "Whatever happened was in the past and wasn't your fault. Your determination in wanting to control your power is proof enough that you wanted to make sure it will not happen again. The fact that it troubles you proves that you didn't mean for this to happen but don't let this swallow you. There have been a few cases where the guilt was too much to bare that they've been driven insane."

"No it was my fault. And it is something that will never go away" Theonis replied as he rested his hand in hers. The thought that she had soft had occurred for a split second but now was not the time for it.

"I do not want to talk about it in detail but...I am sure you've heard of a student dorm a few weeks ago? That was me. So don't tell me it wasn't my fault. It was my fault...and Deadelus." The grip on her hand tightened when he thought about it.

"...made things worse! Justifying their reasons to find, capture, recruit or kill other metas!" her other had pounded on the table. One could tell she was passionate about protecting others from the fate her parents shared on just the mere assumption based on where they were located. She sighed a moment and looked away, "perhaps we should change the subject". That event happened last year and yet she felt that it was longer time ago due 2 years of training she endured in the shadows.

"Haha...maybe we should" The laugh was more direct at himself than at the situation he had created. He wasn't the only one who suffered from Deadelus. But as far as he knew he was the only one who killed as many as he did because of them.

"Way to kill the mood huh? He said as a apology.

"Heh right..." she looks to him with her green eyes. Almost forgetting that that she was still holding his hand. It seemed something was going right still. Noticing this she let go. A short moment passed when she asked, "Do you have a job?" there have been metas that have managed to secure jobs or if not Valhalla could.

"Nope, I wasn't planning to right away. I've got money so it's not like I need one anyway.Plus I don't live here.Then again I haven't really been to my own place as well. So no....i dont have a job"

"Well I suppose when or if you need it, Valhalla can help set you up with one. Heck if you wanted to perhaps you could work here." She took her last bite of oatmeal and drank the last of her juice.  

[Nova Blancke]

"Before I'd even consider a job here I'd need to be in full control over my powers. Last thing I want is for it to go bad again." He didn't feel the weight of his last words this time. Perhaps because he had already expressed them towards her just now.

"Besides, I am not even sure what the hell I could even do here." Theonis said after he had drank the last of his orange juice.

She did admire the fact he had his priorities straight lives came first then everything else. "Well the first it depends if you want to use your power on the job or not. I could think of a couple of things on the top of my head. Construction work or being a soldier. Though now that I think about it perhaps you may enjoy being part of the strategy or advisory panel. Give you a chance to muse on the possibilities one has with their power." She wanted to suggest being her right hand man, but again she thought it would be moving too fast.

"Well that...sounds interesting actually." Theonis looked up surprised. He didn't consider that himself. Apparently Trinity seemed to know what he liked more than he did.

"I've never even considered that. But you're right. I guess I could do that. Thanks Trinity."

Rikki Tikki Travi

Gidget looks in the direction of the whimpering. Even though this is Tansy's mind, Gidget knows that this projection is of her own creation. Sensation was unexpected and welcome, but in Gidget's mind she is still a machine.

A compartment in her shoulder open and displays a small flashlight. The light clicks, and a bright cone emanates from it. She isn't surprised when it makes no headway into the darkness. She takes a deep breath and starts walking toward the soft crying.

As she walked to sound always seemed to be the same distance away. But after some time the sound intensified. "Where are you going Gigdet?" a soft voice whispered from no where.
"On ward to save your friend?" a second pondered.
"Doesn't she know she's too late?" the first asked again.
"Your friend belongs to me now."
"Just as she was always meant to..."
A conniving laughter filled the air. Strange and inhuman, as the distorted sounds bounced off of the nothingness over and over again, and then silence.

Gidget grits her teeth slightly while walking and listening to the voices taunt her. She replies, "Go ahead and laugh. If I could beat death, I can beat you."
