@Re: Change the plot!/Disregard traditions!: GameFreak will never do that, so don't hold your breath. Remember, these games aren't for us;They're for an "ever-changing" audience of boys ages seven to twelve, so they can and will get away with recycling old plotlines (don't forget that pretty much the whole franchise runs on the assumption that the young target audience is constantly renewing itself, so no one will notice reused things, and the people who WOULD notice it [like us] can ******** off because we're not the target audience).
Not only that, but if they changed the plot/disregarded traditions, you know the fandom will throw a huuuuuge bitchfest. That's why "innovative" things that change the fundamental gameplay have been introduced in spin-off/third-party games, rather than the main games.
@Bulba: Don't expect to hear ANYTHING else regarding the 5th gen at all until at least this summer, then nothing regarding 5th gen games until next year, and then actual 5th gen games being launched (in Japan) for another year and a half to two years. The 5th gen is still a ******** time away.
@Zoeloveful: Deleted your Caramelldansen link, because it's spam.
@Tiamat: Nah, that seems really unlikely. If I remember correctly, Nintendo HAS said something about their DS-successor, which is why people think they'll unveil it early next year. And it's a bit too early to release the 5th gen any time soon.
Also, before anyone mentions it, G4 was NOOOOOT talking about the 5th gen. NOOOO non-Japanese company would be giving 5th gen hints right now. G4 was talking about HG/SS, since even though we've known about it since last May, it's still technically "new".

Not only that, but if they changed the plot/disregarded traditions, you I'm not saying they should change much... it's just that "10-year-old destroying evil team by "stupidity is the only option" choices" is getting old.
Because, I mean, who in their right mind would try to take on an organization made of adults that could kick my butt at any given time?
Oh right, it's pokemon, it's all settled with the cockfighting.
In more ways than one.
@Bulba: what do you mean "another hoenn game"? I liked those!

Zoeloveful Just posting cuz I need the coins biggrin And why is it spam? I mean, how is it Spam?
Because it's not contributing anything to the conversation. This isn't the Chatterbox, where you can post whatever the ******** you want. Sure, maybe if there hasn't been a post in days, you could get away with, "OMG CHECK OUT THIS REALLY OLD MEME GUYS", but there was a conversation going, and you did nothing but interrupt it, first with Caramelldansen, and now with "lol just postin 4 monies", the latter of which is spam no matter what.
This thread is "Talk about whatever you want, there's no set topic," not "Post whatever the ******** you feel like because this is the Chatterbox in thread form." neutral
Also, deleted the post I quoted because I don't appreciate your spamming.

Oh yes, I understand what you mean, but even hoping for it is kinda silly. I agree, I'd like to play as a teenager/young adult character, and have a different plotline, but the target audience is perfectly fine with rehashes of "Young kid defeats evil organization by believing in the heart of the cards with the power of friendship." So unless Nintendo acknowledges that old people play the games, too, hoping/wishing for a change in the plot just seems like a waste. No offense!
Also guys, Junichi Masuda is supposed to announce something on next week's Pokémon☆Sunday. On his blog, he said that it'd be about these new mystery game/s and that "the game(s) are in development right now and that the work is secret". Sounds 5th gen-like, though stay cautious; GF/Nintedo/Pokémon Company is the Master of Cockblocks (looking @ u, Pikachu's PokéPark Adventure).
Edit: Also, here's the translated announcement:
Quote: An entirely new "Pocket Monsters" series is under development for release in 2010. The Pokemon Company (headed by Tsunekazu Ishihara) has announced that the newest work in the Pocket Monsters RPG series (Game Freak, Nintendo) is being developed for the Nintendo DS for release by the end of 2010. Since its first entry, "Pocket Monsters Red and Green" from 1996, the "Pocket Monsters" series has received high acclaim from customers around the world for its distinctive universe and gameplay that involves communicating between different versions to trade and battle. Sales for the entire series have climbed to over 130,000,000 copies worldwide. The "Pocket Monsters" series for the Nintendo DS made use of the dual screen, touch screen, and Wi-Fi connection for play. The latest project under development is a completely new work, coming four years after "Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl" which boasts worldwide sales of over 17,150,000 copies (over 5,800,000 in Japan). It should make an innovative, fresh start by adding even more new game play elements and new Pokemon. Please anticipate a later article with news about the game's content.

Bulbasauur I didn't like most of the pokemon in hoen... I won't slander it if it offends anyone. Is the Sunday special on today? I've been checking info sites religiously.
Fair enough, but D/P's were waaaaaay worse. xD

Pokémon Sunday airs about 9pm EST, so we won't be getting Masuda on until next weekend.
@Re: Hoenn Hate: I have primarily personal reasons for hating Hoenn. I mean, if other people love Hoenn, that's perfectly fine; I think nothing less of those people (hell, I even actively collect Flygon, Feebas, Milotic, Bagon, and Salamence). But for me, Hoenn has been horribly ruined beyond salvation, so it's easier for me to just all-out hate it and viciously mock it.
But before Hoenn got ruined, I still wasn't too impressed with it. If you ask me about my most memorable game moments, I'll recall stuff from all the gens but third, because it just wasn't memorable at all for me.
