Nimia tripped in her retreat, and scrambled up against a wall. "No!" she screamed, covering her face with her arms and terror filling her voice. Her mind flashed back to her last human day: Her dad hitting her mom, her mom being thrown against the wall, the officer saying she was dead....Nimia screamed, a long, unbroken pitch. "No!" she cried again, tears of fear streaming down her face. |
