More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Gidget looks around the cabin with a great deal of confusion. "That's a good question. When I first entered your mindscape it was the apartment you and your sister shared before the first meteor shower. You, or at least someone who looked like you, chose it as your place of comfort. What's the story with this place?"

"I don't see him around here. So I think ill be fine. Besides he was pointing a gun at me for being a Meta. Self Defense" He muttered back as he did what Trinity said.

Before going to the entrance she saw a familiar car body then took a closer look at it. It was the same liscense as as she saw when Shane drove off in. "Well that proves he was here alright. That was the car I saw him drive off in." she said the later part to fill Theonis in.

Trinity head toward the hotel's entrance. It was not much to look at. But it was a place to spend the night. There were a couple of cops at the entrance. She showed them her badge, she didn't have her hood on in the past that added to complications.

One of them stepped toward her "Hey meta this ain't your jurisdiction it's just a missing persons case."

"I'm here to say it may not be a simple case. Further more your missing person may be dead at the hands of a dangerous meta on the loose that was driving that vehicle."

"Oh...did the wittle meta head of security fall asleep on the job."

Without warning she gritted her teeth and held the cop against the wall using his shadow. With glowing green eyes she spoke directly, "Look I don't have time to play this game! I'm here to see if I can find some clue about his where abouts and save lives! Do I make myself clear?!"


"Y-yes sir, er mam... Th-there seemed to be a sign of struggle in the office behind the front desk."

"That's more like it" she dropped him and walked by the other cop. There was a little box of disposable gloves. The cops must have brought them to take a closer look. She took a pair for herself and a pair for Theonis. "Put these on." she commanded softly as she put his gloves in her pocket which appeared in front of Theonis. With gloved hands whe opened the door and closed it behind her. She brought Theonis out of the shadow "keep an eye out for clues" she said as she looked around carefully. Especially around the the blood spattered area.

Nice one Trin Theonis thought as she handled the cop. He did as he was told and put on the gloves. You'd think that a place with lots of blood would scare or intimidate someone. Theonis however was not affected by it. After all...he had seen some much worse. Or rather...caused.
"Sorry Trin but...I have no idea what to look for. I don't even know what this guy looks like." Theonis said confessing that he had never ever done something like this. But then something popped in is head.
"Shouldn't this place have a security camera?"

"Are you sure Deora? I don't want to drag you down if you wanted to work out." She goes to her computer and scrolls up for the movies again. "Let me see... here they are...Madagascar, Iron Man and Ever After. Perhaps we can do both it looks like the movie starts around the late afternoon around 4pm. What do you think?"

"That sounds good." Deora said, trying to hide the fact that she was relieved to have a bit of time before the movie. "I wasn't going to be at the gym long, anyway. We could even be done before lunch. Then we could spend the rest of the day doing whatever you want."

Sitting in the passenger seat, Annie rested her head against the window. Her finger drew patterns on her leg as she sat and watched the moving scenery as Shane drove. They had left the trio of sisters at a safe house and proceeded on their journey towards the Daedalus HQ.

Sighing, Annie lifted her hand to her mouth and bit her thumb nail gently. She wondered how close Trinity and Gidget were on their tail. That was when Annie's stomach growled. She spoke up, finally, "Do you think it is safe for us to stop and get food? I'm starving. I haven't had a real meal since yesterday and that was from a truck stop."

Shane glances over at Annie when her stomach growls. "Oh right, I'm so sorry. I forgot about you having to eat. I can't remember the last time I ate for sustenance. Uhhh..."

Shane starts fiddling with the modest GPS that the hotel manager had installed in his vehicle. Search - food - close proximity.

"It looks like the closest place is going to be a little mom and pop diner. Reviews say they have the best southern fried steak in the region. I guess that will be for your southern pallet to judge eh?" He laughs nervously, trying to break some of the tension coming from where they are going.

"I could care less about southern fried steak," Annie said, "but if they had fried green tomatoes then I'd be in heaven."

Biting her thumbnail once again she said off handed, "When I left the Daedalus Project HQ, I was too focused on returning to Valhalla, to stop and try and find decent food. Hitch-hiking rides with shady travelers and truckers meant crappy meals at fast food joints and truck stop dinners. Then again, fast food and truck stop dinner meals are better than being fed with a feeding tube or drugged Daedalus Project food."

She chatted to break the silence between them and try to break the awkwardness, "You'd think they would have caught on that due to my mutation that their drugs didn't work on me... maybe they couldn't be bothered to provide drug free food to a metahuman in their possession."

Shane tightens his grip on the steering wheel. His gaze becomes steely and cold. "They aren't satisfied with stopping. They will keep going until they have the world's meta's under their thumb. Even then it wont be enough. They will force the transformation in normal humans as well, until the entire worlds population is theirs. What sickening is that our government doesn't realize they are doing it. And when they do, it will be too late."

He blinks a few times when something occurs to him. "You said you were fed through a tube? How did they manage to sedate you long enough to do that?"

"You are not welcome here!" The voice echoed throughout the room as it began to shake.

Gidget isn't sure which one of them the voice is addressing, but she sure isn't about to back down now that things are going well. Defiantly she calls back out to the voice, "I'll be out of here soon, but not without removing Angel. Whoever you are, you've crossed a line by screwing with my friend."

Shane catches sight of the diner and exits off of the highway into it's parking lot. He kills the car and shifts in his seat to face Annie. "I don't know what sort of leverage they have over you, but it wont be for much longer. They have something I want as well, something I need. I just hope it's a matter of fact and not a wild goose chase. Now c'mon, let's go get you a bite to eat."

She bit her lip and was about to say something when instead she reached for the door handle. "Remind me to tell you about it more later," she said. "You deserve a full explanation before we arrive to our destination. However, it really isn't polite conversation for over a meal."

Annie got out of the vehicle and headed towards the restaurant, once reaching the door she turned and waited for him holding the door with a smile on her face- whether it was forced or genuine was hard to tell.

"Nooooooooo!" Lia screamed as she held onto the door as Jeze pulled her off.

"I'm not going to sit around and do nothing!" Jeze grunted as she did her best to pull her youngest sister away froom the door so she could leave.

"But Shane said to wait here. It's not safe out there." She kicked at her sister.

"Do you two ever stop?" Kali sighed softly as she looked up and tilted her head to the side.

"No." They both cried to Kali, who only shrugged in response.

Annie got out of the vehicle and headed towards the restaurant, once reaching the door she turned and waited for him holding the door with a smile on her face- whether it was forced or genuine was hard to tell.

Shane pulls his hoody over his head, concealing his hair and leaving a shadow over his eyes. He smirks at Annie and mutters, "After you ma'am." He pushes the door and holds it open as a gentleman should.

The diner is sparsely populated. A few of the locals and some truckers that own the 18 wheelers outside. There is but one waitress, who is tending to the bar at the moment, and the grimy cook going about his business behind the counter. Shane takes a seat at a stool and hands Annie a menu. He orders for himself, a formality since he doesn't need to eat. But it will help to keep up appearances. There is a television on beside the coffee maker. The news is currently covering the strange disappearance of a hotel manager from a few towns over.

He glances over at Annie and asks quietly, "You could've stopped me last night. Why didn't you?"
