More Meteor Showers Bring Even Stranger Powers. (O/A)

Annie raised her eyebrow, she hadn't noticed it, but then now she could feel it. Eyes following them. Not just the waitress and some of the patron's no doubt suspicious about whispered conversations, but it felt like it could be someone else- someone that might pose a threat.

Annie picked up the unfinished glass of water on the table and took a sip as she evaluated the amount of moisture in the air and the liquid available in the room, glasses of soda and water on tables, someone's gravy to their left.

"Let's just go," Annie whispered back, pushing her hair behind her ear. "There is liquid everywhere here, it would be stupid to attack us: especially considering who we are."

Shane nods and stands. He pushes his chair back under the bar and gives the waitress a polite nod.

Watching from the opposite end of the diner were two men, agents of Daedalus. It didn't take long for the organization to catch wind of Shane's escape, and that he could have Annabella Soulsmith as an accomplice. They can't afford to let either one of them reach the headquarters and obtain what they desire. They had been given dossiers over their powers, and knew that the odds of them dying in this mission is highly possible. Their superiors didn't care though, as they just needed Shane and Annie to be made more public at the moment until they could mobilize a proper team to deal with the two of them.

The first man waits for Shane and Annie to turn towards the exit of the diner. Using the moment to his advantage, he reaches into his coat and brings out a dart gun. Without saying a word, the second man does the same. They fire the darts in unison, aiming for Shane and Annie.

Shane hears the commotion coming from behind. He spins around just in time to be hit directly in the chest by one of the darts. He is about to start laughing at the idea of a tranquilizer dart having any effect on himself or Annie, when he hears a whistle and buzz. The dart digs into his flesh and looses an enormous amount of electricity directly into him. His bellows in pain as he loses control of his body. He falls to the floor as biomass pikes erupt and retract erratically from his body.

The two truckers by the entrance attempt to run, but are stopped short by Shane's uncontrollable actions. They are both impaled: one in the heart, and the other in the eye. The other patrons try to avoid the onslaught, but only find themselves either getting injured to dying.

The first agent, the one who fired the shot that hit Shane, finds himself on the receiving end of one pike. The black and red mass pierces his agape mouth the moments he notices it charging at him and starts screaming. His eyes roll back into his head as he collapses to the floor in a lifeless heap.

The second man watches his partner die in front of him as he wipes blood from his eyes. He turns to face Annie, hoping that she is incapacitated enough that she wont turn him into a steaming pile of goo.

"Jezebel has probabilty and memory maniupaltion. She can also track any Meta she wants to. Kali has really quick reflexs.. even thought she doesn't look like it, and she can crawl on walls!" Lia giggled. "And Well.. I... I can enhance or weaken the powers of others and have this weird sense when people are watching.. using... other demonisions.... OH! And I can tell when if anyone in the area is hurt or sick!"

Larry gives an amused grunt as Liz gives an impressed whistle. "That's really something. You three compliment each other very well. It reminds me of..."

She is cut short by a buzz that rings through the building. It sounds like a greatly subdued fire alarm. Liz tenses up and whispers, "Oh no...no no no. They're coming again."

Larry picks up his frightened sister and places her on his shoulders. She looks down at the sisters and quickly says, "That's Celes' remote alarm. That means she's caught wind that Daedalus will be coming to the building for an inspection. Please come with us to the panic room. I'm afraid that your hair may give away that you're metahuman."

Larry leads the sister's to a large hidden door in a wall. A door that looks as though it has gone through a few renovations, most likely to accommodate Larry. The door slides open to reveal a small room with some chairs and bunks. There are already some more obvious metas hiding in there, looks of abject fright in their eyes. Larry looks around and asks, "Everyone?" They nod, giving him the okay to shut the door behind the sisters.

"Sorry Trin but...I have no idea what to look for. I don't even know what this guy looks like." Theonis said confessing that he had never ever done something like this. But then something popped in is head.
"Shouldn't this place have a security camera?"

"Unfortunately I can't show you what Shane looks like. He managed to hack the database and removed his file. However... if we can see what the security cameras captured here...perhaps there was one aimed at the front desk, even that could give us what we need."

With her smart phone Trinity took a picture of where the blood was spilled, it seemed too high to be from the chest level. It seemed closer to the neck. "This right here is a clue... which makes me surprised why they consider it a missing case. If one looses this much blood from his neck he'd be practically dead... He got rather sloppy with this... Come to think of it... about the security cameras .... if they had anything they would have put it on the news by now if they had the footage to show. But perhaps there's a reason why they didn't... " Trinity thought of when she and Gidget discovered he was North, the last person to visit Alec. There was enough camera disturbance to mask his face. It may be the reason why it didn't make it to the news yet. "We'll check the security videos in a minute. Try to look for something on the manager of the hotel there's a chance that Shane may look like him and the news has not release his photo and name yet. Shane can shape shift into anyone he consumes and have their memories as well. Which... come to think of it...if he took North's car before, there's a good chance he may have taken the manager's..."

Near Theonis is a self given "Employee of the Month" certificate with the manager's photo and name, Daniel Grubbs.

Annie turned liquid seconds before the dart pierced her skin, the dart sending a surge of electricity through her before hitting the wall behind her. She grabbed her side wincing as she solidified once again, under her breath swearing, those things weren't supposed to release electricity until after they hit, if Annie had remembered correctly.

"God, I really hate you people," managed Annie catching her breath as she focused on the blood of the second man- drop by drop until she had converted over half of his blood to hydrochloric acid. The blood around the man's heart and other organs began eating at him from the inside out in a matter of seconds.

Not waiting to see the outcome of the second man she turned to Shane and shouted trying to get close to him staying in her liquid form for her own protection, "Shane! Calm down."

Shane falls to the ground, his body pulsating and shifting. His face is twisted in pain. Between breaths he manages to say, "Take it out!"

Meanwhile, the short order cook is tucked away in the kitchen, frantically trying to get in touch with the police so that they can deal with the "crazed freak."

A sickening slurping sound is heard as she pulled out the dart, and she winced at the sound, dropping the dart immediately once it was pulled out.

"There," she said gently. "We better get moving. Trinity is going to be on this scene in no time."

"So he takes the shape of those who he ...absorbs. Alright."
Theonis continued to search for...clues as he stumbled upon the certificate. He picked it up and showed it to Trinity.
"He should look like this right?"

Annie practically falls to her knees in her rush to help Shane, solidifying as she went. Carefully, she reached both hands towards his side, one hand laid against his side and the other gripped the dart. Closing her eyes she pulled the dart using her full strength. A sickening slurping sound is heard as she pulled out the dart, and she winced at the sound, dropping the dart immediately once it was pulled out.

"There," she said gently. "We better get moving. Trinity is going to be on this scene in no time."

Shane takes a moment to get his body under control. Slowly his body stops convulsing. He raises his head slowly and surveys the damage he did. " Oh my God...the Daedalus agents, are they dead?"

Elsewhere, a contact for the media within the police station puts the word out that an incredibly dangerous metahuman has just slaughtered the innocent patrons of a small roadside diner. The news crew at the hotel catches wind of this and starts frantically throwing their gear into the truck. The police start to murmur about the incident until it comes within earshot of Trinity and Theonis.

Annie glanced over her shoulder, the Daedalus agent that Annie had taken on had a look of horror, fear, and excruciating pain on his dead face, his blank eyes staring hatefully at her. "Yeah, they're both dead," Annie replied, standing up. "Frankly I'm beginning to think your method of killing someone is far more humane than mine."

She held in a chuckle as she thought of the hopelessness of the agents going up against them and she walked over to the agent she killed and said coldly, "The idiots... I suppose that makes it what around 26 now for me." Leaning down she picked the dead man's pocket, pulling out a cell phone.

"Let's get out of here," she said, her blood running cold as she realized how little she was bothered by killing a man in cold blood, how easy it had been for her, how she almost enjoyed killing another Daedalus agent. Under her breath she muttered, "God, I really am becoming twisted."

Shane slowly raises to his feet and takes in what just happened. They attacked himself and Annie. They would have had to know that two men with tazer darts wouldn't be able to stop them. He had been at the receiving end of one of their electrical devices before, and a similar outcome happened then to.

He counts the number of innocent dead, seeing that they had been killed by his hand. He looks back over to the kitchen and sees that the cook is nowhere to be seen. His eyes shift to be able to make out biological energies and sees that cook is on the phone, most likely with the police.

"Damnit, they wanted this to happen. They weren't trying to capture or kill us at all."

"Yeah, I suppose so," Annie sighed, inspecting the ends of her auburn colored hair. "They've succeeded in painting a huge target on both of us now." Under her breath she muttered, "Maybe I should dye my hair... auburn sort of stands out."

Glancing back at Shane she pulled out the cell phone and began to punch in numbers and send a text as she walked towards the front door of the restaurant, her thumb was flying over the number pad as she talked. "If we're lucky we can get out of here before the police and/or Trinity shows up. I've had enough death today to deal with- my goal is to stay below 27 today."

Shane nods as his eyes become normal again. He looks back to Annie and says, "I think the cook is on the phone with the fuzz right…who're you texting?"

"My father," she said, with a smile. "We're going to need cash. I'm going to have him transfer mon-" She was stopped mid word by the ringing of the cell phone.

Annie swore under her breath, as she picked up the phone, "Yes?" From the other end of the line was shouting, Annie got her fiery temper from her father. He was going on about how he knew it was a bad idea for her to have tied up with the government and how it took her 13 years to call him and it is about needing money. He finished, "What the Hell did you get mixed up with?"

Annie bit her lip and explained quickly, "I really can't say, Dad. The less you know the better off you are. You're right I shouldn't have gotten mixed up with the government, yeah... I know the government is evil and out to get us, but there were some circumstances... Just know that I'm on the run and I need money. Can you wire my savings to me?"

There was a long sigh on the other phone, "Yeah... just be careful, okay?"

"I'll try," Annie replied. "Oh and you might see me on the news..."

Her father answered something quietly on the other end.

"... no, it is probably true," Annie replied.

Her father snapped something about her trying to give him a heart attack when he took a deep breath and finally said, "Call me when you're somewhere where I can wire the money to you. I'm heading to the bank now."

"Okay, thanks Dad, love you," she said hanging up. Turning to Shane she said in a low voice, "There, that is arranged. It'll take him about an hour to get into town and to the bank. We should be out of town by then and can reach a bank."

Trinity looked at the certificate Theonis showed her, "Perfect, exactly what we need.". She started scanning the document with her smart phone to convert it to a PDF. Her ears perked up at the sound of the media packing up outside. When the scan was complete she heard the cops outside her eyes widen as she heard. "Damn! Theonis we haven't much time. Brace yourself I'll join you shortly.". With that she lowered him into her shadow.

She approached the cops, the other that did not try to insult her earlier spoke, "Something happened in a truck stop not far from here over on Farmville Road."

"Thanks, I'll see what I can do. I'm afraid the same meta was here last night and your missing is already dead. Here give me a call if you find something I need to know." she placed her card in his hand and left. She checked her GPS to figure out her heading. She took a picture of North's car at the hotel.

"Sorry Gidget, lives are on the line. I'm going to have to disobey your order." she said to herself then dropped into her shadow joining Theonis, "So it looks like we will need a plan sooner than expected. I'll buy us some time but we better figure out something fast.". She took him deeper into the shadows where in the real world's 5 minutes is an hour here.
