I feel like you need to earn respect. People saluting horrible officers bothers me.

I feel like only people who know you well should be able to salute you.

well its a sign of respect that they instill in us down here. We are SUPPOSED to show respect to officers no matter what. Even inside buildings we nod or say hello to officers

Oh I know its tradition. But the belief it's a whole different level of person grates.

I need to rant so BAD

But I also wanna be succinct cause I feel like I need to stop thinking about this in general, but also that I can actually tell you guys cause you won't judge.


Anyway point form
I am one of two new ppl at work
We were both on the same course
When we got here he was sent up north for two weeks (only one had to go)
I stayed back and learnt some clinic stuff
He comes back and I have been placed into one of the three clinic slots
I am doing well until last Friday when a Doc had a misunderstanding in regards to what I did with a patients care plan
THAT doc complained to the like second level boss and THAT boss talked to my immediate supervisor and they together over reacted and pulled me completely from my slot in the clinic

Meanwhile the new guy is JUST learning the online charting system and whiling away his time changing over his insurance and taking off early (like at 2 when everyone else leaves at 4)

AND our bosses think he's the cats meow cause the work in the building next door and don't see this.

SO meanwhile I am in purgatory cause the Doc and the 2nd lvl boss took all this week off, so I couldn't even fix the misunderstanding.

AND today all the cool stuff I'd been waiting for all week started to happen. AND the OTHER dude got to go do it all because he started using the office I had been in like THIS MORNING.

So I feel like...when he starts experiencing difficulty with some stuff, and the docs figure out he barely knows how to use the system, that my boss and the 2nd lvl boss will realize it wasn't me being snotty, but rather the fact that we were never trained for all the tasks we have been getting.

BUT what I REALLY REALLY WANT is for that other guy to get busted doing something wrong. THIS MAKES ME A HORRIBLE PERSON I KNOW> BUT I WANT IT SO BAD>

Its only natural that you feel that way Z. Happened all the time in my division.
I only wanted to be the one to do that job and done. To stay out of the limelight and not have any problems. I get put in charge of an operation to spruce up some fuel flow equipment, that was used during engine testing on the back of aircraft carriers. Lo and behold, My self, the higher ranking person, an E-4 3rd class petty officer, get told that, because I used to let my guys go early when we would finish our tasks for the day, I am no longer in charge and put another petty officer in charge.

I was so angry and stuff but in the end, my personnel and I got the job done quicker and more effectively then anyone else. The civilian personnel even said that the equipment looked just like it was when it was first installed.


Sucks that I got pulled from the head operator position but I showed the higher ups that I could do my job

Yeah, I got another update about how serious my lack of ability was today. I was so close to saying something. But I spoke with this one doc we have who's a captain. She said it's actually very typical for our base, that our staff are very cliquey and if you have one mark against you you're screwed.

She experienced a lot of the same stuff, and told me to disagree politely with stuff I don't feel is accurate and to power through the rest.

She has a good point. You pretty much can't go against the norm on base, just take it and keep going, Best thing I can tell you is stay out of the limelight, good or bad. I did that and luckily didn't get into major trouble and didn't stand out too much

That's just the thing, the bad limelight is on me as far as my boss is concerned. Granted no one else agrees with her, but it looks bad when she says nothing good about me. I SHALL ENDEAVOR TO NOT SPEAK OF THIS AGAIN.

It depresses me, and considering I won a kayak on Friday night and am on leave as of TODAY.
