Nova watched Kerana make her way to the stream. He should talk to her later. Perhaps he should talk to all of them separately later at night

He wasn't surprised Ruby hit it off with Keleth. She wasn't that mature to begin with. Always had been an oddball among the Dragon-Kin. But he was glad Ruby made a friend.

"Yeeaaaah!" Ruby grabbed Keleth's hand and ran inside to jump on the table and sat down cross-legged so Keleth could fully braid her hair. Nova just smiled with a nod. But then Lexi smacked her upside the head.

"Ouwiieeee...."Ruby said as she rubbed her head with both her hands fighting back a tear.

"What did I tell you about sitting on the table like that? Your feet are dirty and now you're making the table dirty as well!" Lexi said firmly as she planted her feet on the ground.

Ruby only looked down" Sowwi....."

"Fine..just this once since my heart has returned." Lexi responded and mellowed out a bit. She gave a kiss on Ruby's head.

"Yaaaay!"

And just like that her happy mood had returned.

"Well...no point in standing outside the entire time. Come on in." Nova said inviting the rest inside.

Trinity and the others entered upon Nova's invitation. Trinity looked around, something about this place kind of reminded her of her old home where she grew up. "Quite the cozy abode. Feels just like home."

Kerana

After a while she managed to clear her tears and dried her face off and then return to the others.

Alec had watched Kerana leave to wash her face, paying little attention to the exchange between Keleth and Ruby. He had a feeling she was crying because of how sad tragic the situation was. The fact that it may be the last time Nova saw his family was not lost to the wolf-kin.

After she had made it back, and while they were entering the house, he leaned down toward Kerana's ear and quietly asked, "Are you going to be okay?".

"You too daddy!" Ruby exclaimed as Kaleth was doing her hair.

Nova took a breath to protect but stopped right after he opened his mouth. He sighed but with a smile as he shook his head.

"Fine, fine. There's no saying no to you once you want something." Nova took a seat and sat down at the table next to Ruby. She just looked at him with a smile that showed her full set of teeth. After which Lexi started braiding his hair.

"Yeah. I think so too. Take a seat. No need to stand around for."

Keleth maintained her pleasant demeanor throughout Ruby being chastised. When things were settled down, she positioned herself behind Nova's daughter.

Kel's claws made combing through, and separating, Ruby's hair a breeze. Her fingers moved deftly through the child's strands as though she had done this for years. In truth, she had. The horses on her farm all sported braid's of various style.

"Oh yeah. This is much easier."

She glanced over to Lexi and chimed, "I can see where she gets her gorgeous hair."

"Thanks. You have no idea how much of a pain it can be to comb all of it whenever she comes back from...playing around. She wanted it to be just as long as daddy over here but doesn't really look after it." She responded as she continued to braid Nova's hair.

((Sorry for the delay. I haven't had a great week.))
Alec entered the abode and watched as Keleth and Lexi braided their respective locks of hair. He reached back to his own hair, which lay just a little longer than Kerana's at past his shoulders, and wondered if it was time for a change.

He noticed that Kerana was watching them, and then an idea struck him. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Do you know how to do that? Fix hair I mean."

Alec's hands fidgeted for a moment as he thought about that. Does he want it braided, was it long enough for that? Did he want to find a set of shears and let Kerana cut it. His jumbled thoughts came out as a mess of words.

"Braided? Oh, um, I don't...maybe? Clean it up, perhaps? Um..."

He paused for a moment and took a deep breath.

"I just thought that maybe it's time for a change, and I'd like your opinion and help."

Lexi glanced over at two young adults as she overheard them. She stopped braiding Nova's hair and walked over to Alec. As usual she stood firm and looked at him. Swiftly her hand shot up and pulled his hair back a bit so it was no longer in front of his eyes. Lexi seemed to stare directly into soul the way she was looking at him. After which she let go and continued to braid Nova's hair.

"You've already displayed your power. There is strength in those eyes wolf. Show it to the world." Lexi stated as a matter of fact.

"She's not wrong you know." Nova responded.

"Heh... I didn't need a hair dresser when I cut my hair short. I used to have a long braid when I worked for Lord Saturn. After he died and I recovered from the attack that killed him. I grabbed hold of my braid and cut it off with a knife." Trinity spoke as Kerana admitted she was not a hair dresser.

Alec blushed and grinned sheepishly as everyone voiced their opinions. Confidence or no, he was still very shy.

He rubbed his arm nervously before he finally looked at Kerana and nodded.

"A braid will be just fine."
