((haha, not quite Mexico-- I'm in Fresher, More Recent Mexico, or perhaps Mexico 2.0.... ABQ is quite nice, although I haven't ventured to the sketchier areas so I can't say that with full certainty....))
TJ smiled and gave the faintest of nods, which might have been confusing to Annabelle or Samantha. Of course I'm okay with it, she said reassuringly. Rakata had seen enough in his time, more than any man-- let alone someone who was still by biological standards a boy-- should have to see. It's your decision, and if you stand by it then so do I. Her smile widened and she added, You don't have to thank me for anything. You deserve more than I can give.
The smile disappeared when Annabelle directed her conversation to the two of them, and she wasn't quite sure what to say. Her throat closed up a little when she asked, "Going out?" --but Rakata, smooth as ever, came to the rescue, and TJ felt the corner of her mouth twitch upward ever so slightly at his wit.

Rakata was off put by her last comment, and a little upset by it. Not angry or anything, just....he didn't know how it made him feel, he just knew he didn't like it. don't think that. Not even for a second. Youve given me more that anyone has in the last long while. he replied. Then, Rakata decided to drop that section of the conversation. if you'd like, you can share my dorm. Only if you way to, of course. I only have the one bed, but I dont see that being to much of a problem. Rakata offered. He knew where her dorm was, and it was a good distance away from his own. He was afraid that if something were to happen to her, that he wouldnt be able to get there in time to help her. He had lived through one experience like that, and refused with every fiber of his being to have history repeat itself. Besides. He realized that he was madly in love with the girl sitting across from him, and loved having her company. Rakata took another sip of his drink, and thought more about the secrets waiting to be discovered inside that ancient book of the Arcane Arts.

TJ's eyes widened for a moment, and she felt the twitch of a smile threatening to broaden into a grin. I'm pretty sure it's against school policy... but think I can live with that, she thought, feigning utter smugness. She thoroughly enjoyed the prospect, honestly-- and she knew Rakata had his own reasons for offering. Most likely to keep her alive, even though he knew perfectly well her greatest inherent strength was staying alive against all odds. But the thought of having a warm, affectionate body beside her after so many years of being alone was pleasing enough, with or without the added bonus of the body belonging to a gorgeous boy who was more skilled than any hired guard.
Her brow furrowed a little as she thought back to waking up face down on top of a new grave, riddled with bullets-- and then to the book-hunting expedition, finding herself in the hotel bed covered in sand and dirt. Maybe this way Rakata could help keep an eye on her, and together they could figure out what exactly happened during her blackouts. The thought scared her a little, but she had to know.
