This summer, I am spending my time yet again creating a cosplay costume. Last year, I was making two Ghostbuster costumes (with help from my older brother). This year, I am making a Zero era Joanna Dark. Hopefully, I'll be done before New York Comic Con, and will hopefully be able to attend at least one day of the convention.

To track my progress so far, you can look here:

And also here.

Right now I mainly need a red shoulder length wig, contact lenses, CI patches, and I need to heavily modify my jacket that I'll be using for the Carrington Institute uniform.

I found a bit of fabric that would work great for the black part of the jacket. My problem is though (besides having to iron out & sew on the bit of fabric and not having enough to sew onto the underside of the arms) is which side I should have facing up.
This is the "up" side:

And this is the "down" side:

What do you guys think?

Got an earpiece the other day. All I really need to do with it is paint it over & cut the cord.

I bought this at the dollar store for a bit over $2 USD if I remember right.

Also, this is what the jacket looks like when I have the bottom folded up a few times (best pic I have at the moment):

Currently, the only way I can have it stay like that is if I use a buttload of safety pins (which I bought along w/ the earpiece), but I think that might make the costume look a little incomplete if I do that. Also, I'm having trouble keeping the collar up. Any tips (besides starch) on how to keep it up?

Started to put on the black fabric today. It was difficult trying to figure out how much of the fabric I should cut by myself, but I think I did alright considering. I've attached the fabric for the arms and tomorrow I'll probably tackle attaching the rest.

Also, I got my patches a week or two ago. They came out better than I thought they would.

Got my oldest bro to order the wig for me last night, and I got a majority of the silver piping attached to the jacket and holy mother of god it really makes it look sexy.

I even used some of the piping to make fake zippers since Jo's jacket closes w/ a zipper while mine closes w/ buttons (which I covered up w/ a flap of fabric so that I can button it up should I so desire):

And I solved the problem of cutting the fabric in the right area by the arms w/ a bag of pollyfil and my pj's shoved in the sleeve (crude, but effective since my younger brother wouldn't wear it for five seconds):

You can see in a few of these pics that I kind of screwed up w/ attaching the fabric onto the sleeves, but I think I'll be able to cover that up enough w/ the piping so that it isn't that noticeable.

The jacket is DONE! The red wig, OBTAINED! The pistol & earpiece, BEING PAINTED! Not too much left to do with this baby!

The costume is done, the Parade was fun (despite it being 30 degrees out & my older brother's constant bitching), and everyone seemed to love my costume (even though only one guy seemed to openly know who I was). Still tired at the moment, so just look at the new pics I uploaded here for now.
