I'll try to keep this short as possible.

Personally, I know better when it comes to situations like this, but I'm wondering what others might know/think from experience. But long story short, a friend of mine are stemming from the same degrees of graduation from college. We are both qualified now to be in the Education system.

I've been working quite a bit longer than she. Five years over virtually very little work save for house call babysitting. So I'm feeling she may not understand Background checking as I do.

I myself have been doing all I can to make sure that my background is easy to access when asked for and my references check out and the such. My friend, on the other hand, the other day expressed a frustration that she is having with a current ''job'' in a kid's play place facility. She feels that they are not treating her right and she is right now in the ''Part Time On-Call'' position and has not been to work since she got out of training over a month ago. I overheard her saying ''I plan on waiting until they call me to come in and quit right in their face''. I tell her I think it would be an unwise idea, and that she should take care of it now, and both me and my husband have expressed her options of taking the way that she has been treated over their heads, but this venting if she were to do this I feel is a VERY unwise move. She and a few other friends are thinking ''Why not? She didn't work afterall it's not like she can use it on a resume.''

Be that as it may, to be hired as a teacher I'm feeling that a thorough background check and connections may be made, whether she mentions this company that she is with right now or not. A few of my other friends agree with me.

My question: Am I right to think and consider that background checks for say a professional area such as Education would go a bit more than just references and criminal background? Would there be a possibility that any that considered hiring her would find out about this company and how she just ''quit in their face'' if she were to carry that line of thinking out?

Any and all serious insight and advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Little late but, I'm a social worker and honestly... They only care about references, criminal record checks, driving abstracts and child welfare checks. Let your friend do whatever she wants. It's not your problem.
