So if we are going to do this and if I am going ot be DM I'd like to know at the beginning what type of world to start in.

With 43 playabel races and a whole slew of classes and stuff I figure we should at least get the basics out of the way before we introduce characters.

I have a few choice ideas for our beginning.

Vanilla D&D: Aka the sandbox. Basically the Nentir Vale. I have a few prewritten campaigns we can run till about level 5 and then we can go on whatever adventure you guys want to wherever. You make the world.

Faerun and the Forgotten Realms: Lots of stuff here. I'll have to bone up on my Faerunian lore though.

Eberron: Steampunkish still a bit fuzzy on this one but feel free to try.

Dark Sun Athas: I have always wanted to try this one. But it will be harsh, no metal, dessert of death kind of thing. Oh no magic or divine here either.

Feywild: Magic, elves, pixies, gree forest and trees.

Shadowfell: Zombies, ghouls, deatha dn undeath, I might just throw you into Zombie night if we try this one. This is more survival horror.

popular vote wins I guess. Tell me and We can start character making.

I'm kinda up for anything, as long as I get to play a tiefling. I just fell in love with my last character, a tiefling warlock. She made me happy. We have a couple of newbies, and a new player that is interested in joining a group (if we could add him too, that would be great!!!). I'm not picky other than that. I say that because you are the DM, you should pick up to 3-4 realms that you would like to explore, within reason (with newbies who will want to get immersed but not thrown in and almost drowned with some of the worlds), but that you have the free reign to world build and create a bit. Does that sound good for you?

It does, so since there will be newbies I don't think running Shadowfell will be a good idea (way to high character turnover rate). I don't know enough about Faerun to give you guys a good experience there. I know less about Eberron. Dark Sun is a harsh world so I wouldn't recommend it for new players (no metal, magic, or gods). That leaves Nentir Vale and Feywild. But for new players lets go with Nentir Vale. I have some prewritten campaign we can run. And with a small map it leaves a whole world beyond to make up from scratch so it's a good place to start.

Anyone can join. I have no problems. I will run for no more than 7 players though (I've tried its chaos)

With that out of the way. I'd like to see who I will be challenging. Character introduction begins NOW! xd

Hooray!
I'm up for anything but the Nentir Vale sounds pretty good to me.
I'll probably be playing an Eladrin Wizard if that's possible.
I can make a character sheet and all that if that's all good smile

no probs man. I have an idea how to start off too. so if everyone's all good that will be awesome. I'd like the players to introduce themselves as characters before we begin so when everyone is ready hopefully we can get this bird off the ground and into the air.

I've got everything set up, as far as I can tell. I'm running a half-elf cleric. Should be plenty of fun.

Ok players with characters made, that are still interested of course, please introduce yourselves as your characters. Seeing as this is online there will be a little more roleplay than combat but believe me there will be combat.

Try to introduce yourself as a name, race, gender, class, and personality quirks. This will let me get a feel for how you will work together as a party and helps me create a story for you all after the introductory few campaigns.

I think I'm going to be a human fighter.
But I'm just wondering first, are we going to try to be literate?
When the cards are down I would prefer there are no spelling mistakes that would require more explanation.
(And the name of this thread is troubling.)

I hate to argue but literacy is what you make of it. I'm an accomplished writer, I make mistakes sometimes and I'll admit it. I believe we aren't dealing with second graders, nor are we dealing with college professors. Some spelling errors are bound to occur and that does not mean anyone in the party is illiterate. For the sake of fun just be in character. Literacy is left to the individual characters, a missing letter here or there shouldn't deter you from understanding the point of the sentence.

I'll have a character thingo up soon, just gotta write it all out! Just making sure you guys don't leave me D:

I'm usually pretty literate, anyway, so no worries there.

Do not worry sir no one has introduced themselves yet. But believe me the time will come, whether we have done so or not the players will need each other for the first mission. That is guaranteed.
