Roles
Heroes
All part of Heroes Association, each have a class and ranking within that class. Those who reach rank 1 within their class are given a chance to be promoted to the next class.
S Class
Awarded only to heroes of exceptional ability and skill, the S Class is the highest class within the Hero Association. These heroes tend to have otherworldly power and abilities that set them distinctly apart from A Class heroes. They are used as trump cards in dire situations, or when monsters or villains are too powerful for lower classes to handle. It is rare to see rookie heroes enter the society at the S Class level, however, prodigies will still appear every now and again.
A Class
This class is generally reserved for veteran heroes who have fought their way through the ranks and earned their place by training hard and proving their worth. Many skilled B Class heroes will eventually graduate to A Class when they have mastered and refined their skills. A handful of exceptionally powerful heroes can start at Class A with a lower ranking if they are powerful enough but lack experience working under the association and their rules and regulations.
B Class
Also known as the "sidekick" class, the B Class tends to have above-average heroes of respectable skill or interesting abilities, but are not quite strong enough on their own to put up a real fight against a powerful enemy. Heroes in this class tend to have minor powers, such as invisibility, weak psi, or flight with which they use to assist higher class heroes, hence the B Class' nickname. Higher ranked B Class heroes can have more exceptional powers or weapons, but perhaps are still learning to wield them properly, and thus lack the experience and control needed to advance to higher classes.
C Class
These heroes are more "everyday" heroes, the firefighters, police officers, and philanthropists, or the strangers who do small but meaningful tasks like rescuing your pet cat from a tree, stop purse snatchers, or look for opportunities to make a random act of kindness. Rookie heroes tend to start here and move up in rank. If they have powers, it's generally limited to minor physical enhancement (such as above average strength and speed).
Renegades
Heroes who work outside of the Heroes Association are known as Renegades. Whatever their reasons for not joining he HA, it puts them in a difficult spot since heroes who don't join the association are seen as unpredictable vigilantes who can't be trusted since their actions may not always keep the public's best interest at heart.
Villains
Those who use their abilities for personal gain or just to cause destruction so they can watch the world burn. Villains can range from the common criminal to super villains or monsters with enough power to rival Class S heroes.
