My aunt has a sewing machine that she never uses. But of course, I can't have it. rolleyes xd

Hey Miss Kupi, fellow rat owner here! Why not ask your aunt if she'll show you how to sew on her machine, and maybe she'll let you borrow it for a while? I sew a ton of hammocks for rats, sell them online and donate all the profits to various rat rescues. It's very rewarding. smile

And definitely keep your eye on Craigslist. That's where I got my cabinet. smile

I'm not at her house often (Well, she lives next to my dad, but isn't home much. rolleyes ) so I don't know if I could get her to let me borrow it or not. She's kind of funny about her craft room. xd I was going to have a craft room, but somehow rats (..and hamsters.. and mice..) moved in.

I just got some really cute fabric to make hammocks with, but with garage sale season here, I'm holding off and waiting to see if I can't find a sewing machine there. ninja

I keep eyeballing the newer sewing machines in the shops... mine is still working well though and it would be a waste for me to get a new one.

Talking about sewing machines, here's a pic of where I sometimes sew when I'm at work. (Our family owns a used furniture store.) We had the sewing this sewing desk come in one day and I grabbed it immediately! It's kind of a retro style, which I like. Kinda reminds me of my childhood. I set it up to work on projects when it was slow in the store.

I also found a desk to use at home. I'll post that later.

That's a cool desk--lots of room for laying out big pieces of fabric! When I'm working on a quilt, I have to roll it up so it doesn't hang off the table and pull. D:

On vacation in Phoenix and there's a fabric store right across the street from the hotel....Boca Bargoons. Bargoons? rofl Anyway, went to go check out their 'discount' fabrics....yeah, even if it is a deal, $89.99/yd is still insane! burning_eyes

Hi, I joined your guild a while ago but this is my first post. I love to sew, but haven't done any sewing for over a month. I broke my leg four days before Christmas and have only been able to sit and stare at my machine. Though I still have lots of ideas and will be back at machine as soon as the cast comes off, in another two months...hopefully. In the mean time, I have started making jewelry to go with dress designs.
