The question has been raised where are the people?

One problem with recruiting may be that our guild site did not show up when I ran several guild searches. New members interested in roleplaying would likely do a guild search to find roleplaying or DnD guilds.

However, when I tried to search for our guild I could not locate it. I looked for "girl gamers," "rpg girls," "DnD," "Dungeons and Dragons," etc. No search even showed that our guild site exists. I tried looking for it under "roleplaying," but there were over 30 pages of guilds and if our guild was on there it was way too hard to find anyway because I looked through those roleplaying pages for over 15 minutes.

It might be worth considering how to structure (if it is even possible) our search terms/name/information/whatever to make this guild one of the choices that show up if someone were to search "Dungeons and Dragons" or "Roleplaying," or other notable search terms that apply to us.

I do not know anything about computers or this website or if this can even be done easily. However if it can be done, then I think it would improve our success because this guild would be easier to find.

I hope I did not accidently step on anyone's toes. I am just trying to be a good guild member and putting forth some ideas to discuss that might help us in the longrun. I'm just trying to help the guild and its members.

PS: I only found this guild through a thread I accidently stumbled across. I too could not locate it in a standard search for DnD guilds/roleplaying guilds.

The thing of it is that, in the guild moderator panel, I have a choice of a category and that's it. It's currently set to "Gaming," but there is an option for "Role Playing." I could change it to that and see if it gets us anywhere, but I doubt it would be that much better. There really needs to be a way of including tags, like in regular forum threads.

(I am not sure about this at all).......But I think if a search is ran in the guild search window and if our guild name contains part of all of the search term, then our guild should come up when the search is ran. Does anyone know for sure?

For example, if I search "Dungeons and Dragons" a couple of pages of guilds pop up all of which have the search term "Dungeons and Dragons" in their name.

I do not propose changing the name of the guild, most of all because it is pretty cool. But perhaps the original name of the guild hypenated with an applicable search term might work.

Such as "Armed and Lovin' It! - A Role Playing & Dungeons and Dragons Guild" etc.

I am not suggesting that name in particular, just using it as an example to stimulate brainstorming. Anyone have any thoughts? Would this work?

Well, we're also a general gaming guild, not just D&D. We happen to have a lot of D&D-related activity, but other game systems are just as welcome.

I think it's a good idea, though, and I'm going to give it a try. It may go through some iterations over the next couple weeks or so until I find a version I like. Don't be alarmed.

It was much easier to find the Guild during a search.

I found the guild when reading through the "Token Female Player" thread in which this started. Females have always been a big part of gamer culture for me, right up to the super obsessed girls who dress up as their favorite male character, and then do unspeakable things at conventions... can't say I blame them, I do weird stuff myself. But still, I completely agreed that the current attitude towards female gamer's is bizarre and ignorant. Female gamers are fairly numerous, and not much different from male gamers in playing style.

So here I am, with people I feel may understand me and want to play games with me and discuss games with me.

...best way to get people in the guild, advertise it.
